Australia’s largest Lego collection is set to go under the hammer, with the bidding starting at just $1 for thousands of sets.
The entire collection is made up of a million individual pieces, is worth about $250,000, and has been amassed by a woman from Brisbane.

Initially, it was a form of therapy for her, but over the years, it blossomed into a beloved hobby and fervent passion. With dedication spanning half a century, she has meticulously constructed her impressive collection of bricks.

Now, she’s ready to offer her treasure trove to Australians who appreciate the art of building. However, interested individuals must be prepared to invest significantly to acquire these unique pieces.

Among the coveted items are some exceptionally rare pieces that could command prices in the tens of thousands. Highlights include a rare Imperial Star Destroyer from the Star Wars universe and an intricate model of Rome’s Colosseum.

In addition to these rarities, the collection features themed sets from popular franchises like Harry Potter, Marvel, and Disney, appealing to a wide range of enthusiasts.

There are also sets inspired by real-world architecture and history, such as a detailed replica of the White House and a charmingly old-fashioned typewriter, offering something for everyone with an interest in building and design.

Rachael McCann from Lloyd’s Auctions said the haul isn’t just a piece of Australian history.

“After a little bit of research, this could well be one of the largest in the world ever offered at auction as one whole collection from one single vendor,” she said.

Bidding ends on April 20 for the Queensland Lego collection.
