Erika Kirk has had her fair share of hair extension mishaps, but they’re certainly a notch above the half-bun style she frequently sported in the early days of her relationship with Charlie Kirk. During this period, Erika often opted for a casual half-updo, even when the occasion demanded a more polished appearance. A prime example is a December 2019 photo where she donned this look at a wedding of former classmates from Notre Dame Preparatory School, where she served as one of the groomswomen. Her choice stood out as somewhat inappropriate for the formal setting.

In another instance captured in an October 2019 photograph, Erika is seen with the same hairstyle during a casual shopping day with friends. Her wardrobe ranged from a shirt and tie to a cardigan with bold necklaces, yet she consistently favored the simple act of tying a section of her hair back. While a half-bun can be sophisticated when styled correctly, Erika’s reliance on it often resulted in a disheveled appearance.
Since becoming a prominent figure in the far-right movement, Erika has notably evolved her style. She seems to have abandoned the casual half-bun in favor of long, glamorous hair extensions, a popular choice among Trump supporters. Although Erika doesn’t always maintain her extensions meticulously, they undeniably suit her current image better than her previous hairstyle.

Many high-profile women in the MAGA sphere, including Kimberly Guilfoyle, Kristi Noem, and Melania Trump, are known to use hair extensions. However, Erika Kirk’s appear to be among the priciest. Hair and wig expert Amber Renee, founder of Areneé Lashes & Cosmetics, estimates that Erika’s extensions could have cost anywhere from $800 to $1,500, depending on the application method and salon, as she shared with The List in December 2025.
While Erika’s extensions are noticeable, Renee suggests this is more due to their dramatic length than poor quality. “Her extensions look like a really high quality install,” Renee noted. Even before embracing extensions, Erika favored long hairstyles. Photos from the early days of her relationship with Charlie Kirk reveal her natural hair reaching mid-back or even waist-length. In a 2021 image, her hair drapes elegantly over her shoulders, while a 2020 photo shows a similar length.

From Kimberly Guilfoyle to Kristi Noem to Melania Trump, there are plenty of high-profile MAGA women known to wear hair extensions. Yet, it is Erika Kirk’s hair extensions that may be the spendiest in all of MAGAland. According to hair and wig expert Amber Renee, founder of Areneé Lashes & Cosmetics, Erika’s new ‘do may have set her back several hundred dollars — if not more. “The blend, length, and fullness all point to something in the range of about $800 to $1,500 depending on the method and the salon,” Renee told Nicki Swift’s sister site The List in December 2025.
Erika’s extensions are fairly obvious, but Renee argues that it’s more because of the unnatural length she went for than anything else. “Her extensions look like a really high quality install,” she said. Even before Erika seemingly went the extension route, she embraced wearing her hair long. In other pictures from the early days of her and Charlie Kirk’s relationship, we can see that her hair reached her mid-back or even her waist. In the 2021 picture on the left, the hair pulled over her shoulders landed on her ribcage. In the 2020 picture on the right, her hair seems of a similar length.Â

While it seems that Erika eventually stopped rocking the half-bun style as frequently, her love of having long hair clearly hasn’t changed.
