Vicky McClure was included in King Charles’s Birthday Honours List and is set to receive an MBE for her services to acting and charity.

Vicky has worked with dementia charity Alzheimer’s Society and on documentaries shining a light on how music can help those with the disease.

The Line of Duty star worked on Our Dementia Choir for BBC One as a two-part series in 2018 and has continued to work with dementia-sufferers.

Most recently, she fronted Our Dementia Choir Sings Again in 2022 after the group had grown over the years.

She has also opened up about caring for her grandmother Iris, who had Alzheimer’s and died in 2015.

In terms of her acting career, Vicky rose to prominence in Shane Meadows’ hit film This Is England as Lol.

She went on to appear in the TV series, which ran until 2015 with This Is England ’90.

She’s always well known for her role as DCI Kate Fleming in long-running police drama Line of Duty.

Vicky has been nominated for a BAFTA Television Award and a National Television award over the years.

This is not the first time Vicky has been honoured for her charity work as in August 2022, she was made an honorary Doctorate of Letters by the University of Nottingham.

She said at the time: “To be awarded a Doctor of Letters at the University of Nottingham, just 10 minutes from my house, the place where Our Dementia Choir was formed… this is for sure my personally proudest day to date,” she said during her acceptance speech.

“I didn’t get many GCSEs, I’m not the quickest reader but I love people, they give me purpose, this doctorate gives me purpose and if there is any advice I can give to you all today… it’s service.

“The world is a difficult place to navigate and for those living with dementia and other life altering illnesses we must do our bit.”

Other celebs who received an honour alongside Vicky include Vogue editor Dame Anna Wintour who becomes a Companion of Honour.

Davina McCall was also honoured for her services to broadcasting while Ian Wright and Ken Bruce also received honours.
