Based in Watford, Jonni Knight is an innovative interior designer and entrepreneur with roots in Yorkshire. In addition to managing a performing arts school, Jonni revamps homes with a whimsical mid-century flair, embracing vibrant colors and hands-on projects. He established Jonni Knight Design to provide specialized interior design services.
Jonni is participating in the 2026 season of BBC’s Interior Design Masters. Discussing his journey with the BBC, he shared, “After leaving behind my performing career, interior design became my creative sanctuary. Competing in Interior Design Masters seemed like the perfect opportunity to test my limits. I’ve always wondered how life would unfold away from the stage, and interior design was a natural path to express my creativity. I wanted to see how my concepts would fare under intense pressure and found the experience exhilarating!”
Interior Design Masters 2026
Featured in Series 7 of Interior Design Masters on BBC One, Jonni joins a cast of talented designers under the guidance of comedian and host Alan Carr. Michelle Ogundehin, an authority in interiors, leads the judging panel, supported by a rotating lineup of guest judges.
Jonni characterizes his design aesthetic as “Bold, Classic, Chic,” with a strong belief in the timeless appeal of vintage furniture. He elaborates: “Trends ebb and flow, and this holds true for vintage items, which initially capture trends but later evolve to tell their own stories. I love how some pieces can be repurposed, embedding memories while creating new ones. They immediately infuse warmth and personality into a space, making it feel inviting rather than overly refined.”
Regarding the upcoming series, Jonni remarks: “Expect a dynamic mix of personalities that are both daring and imaginative! We brought forth transformative designs and varied perspectives in response to the challenges. Each designer’s unique viewpoint will make the competition thrilling to watch. Anticipate bold decisions, moments of chaos, and truly inspiring design accomplishments! Plus, there will be plenty of fun and laughter along the way!”
