In a striking display of football prowess, Barcelona clinched the 2025/26 La Liga championship by overcoming their arch-rivals, Real Madrid, with a decisive 2-0 win at the Nou Camp during the highly anticipated El Clasico.

Rashford inspires Barcelona to title glory

The match saw Marcus Rashford deliver a spectacular opening goal with a free-kick that left spectators in awe. Not long after, Ferran Torres cemented their lead with a second goal, securing a comfortable victory for the home team and delighting the sea of Barcelona supporters.

In a poignant moment, both Rashford and Torres shared their triumphant celebrations with manager Hansi Flick, who was mourning the recent passing of his father, adding an emotional layer to the victory.

This triumph not only affirmed Barcelona’s dominance by crowning them La Liga champions with three matches still to play, but it also marked an impressive winning streak of 11 consecutive league games.

Flick delivers another title for Barcelona

With this latest triumph, Barcelona has achieved consecutive league titles, lifting their total to 29 La Liga trophies. However, they still stand seven titles shy of matching Real Madrid’s record haul.

Flick’s side have been dominant at home throughout the campaign, with the victory marking their 18th win in 18 league matches at the revamped Nou Camp this season.

Rashford gave the hosts the perfect start when he curled an early free-kick into the top corner beyond Thibaut Courtois.

Barcelona doubled their lead in the 18th minute after a brilliant team move ended with Torres firing home following a clever assist from Dani Olmo.

Real Madrid’s struggles continue

Real Madrid struggled to respond despite starting Aurelien Tchouameni just days after reports of an altercation with teammate Federico Valverde, who missed the game.

Under-pressure manager Alvaro Arbeloa was unable to inspire a comeback as Barcelona controlled large periods of the contest.

Rashford nearly grabbed his second goal before Courtois denied him with a fine save, while Vinicius Junior was kept quiet for much of the night by goalkeeper Joan Garcia.

As the final whistle approached, chants of “Championes, Championes” echoed around the Nou Camp as Barcelona celebrated another league triumph.
