Latto recently shared insights into her journey of parenthood alongside 21 Savage.
Appearing on The Breakfast Club, the rapper discussed witnessing 21 Savage embrace his role as a father to their daughter.
The dialogue kicked off with Latto expressing her joy over the birth of her baby girl, a dream she had long cherished.
“I really wanted a girl. I’m definitely a girl mom,” she revealed.
Latto also touched on how becoming a father has influenced 21 Savage’s life.
The rapper also spoke about 21 Savage and how fatherhood has affected him.
Asked whether she has seen a different side of him since the birth of their daughter, Latto didn’t hesitate.
“For sure. For sure,” she said.
Although she declined to discuss details of their relationship, she revealed that moments involving their daughter often leave her emotional.
“Yeah. He been sending me videos and I’ve been crying looking at them.”
Latto said welcoming a daughter has been meaningful for both of them.
“Yo, God work in mysterious ways. Let me say that cuz I feel like we both needed a girl.”
The rapper also explained why fans have been seeing more of her personal life lately.
“I feel like I still am private to a certain point, but it’s like to a certain extent, but I feel like when once you start reaching different milestones in life, you can only be so private. You know what I’m saying? Like I got a baby. I can only be so private.”
Latto also addressed recent comments about retirement. While some fans wondered whether motherhood had changed her plans for music, she admitted she is still figuring things out.
“It changes daily. I don’t know. I can’t really say. I can’t really say. It’s like I’m navigating postpartum. So it’s like some days I be like, ‘No, I don’t want to do this no more. Like I I don’t want to do it no more.’ And then some days I’d be like, ‘I love this. I’m so reinspired. Like I want to drop another album.’ I don’t know.”
The rapper also reflected on the internal battle she faced when she found out she was pregnant. While she wanted to become a mother, she said part of her was still thinking about how a baby would affect her career.
“I felt selfish a lot of times for choosing to do that and it’s it’s not even fair to me to feel selfish,” she said.
