The saga infamously known as “sheetgate” has finally come to a close.
For those unfamiliar with the drama, it’s time to dive into the latest season of Below Deck Mediterranean, season 11, to be precise. Here’s the lowdown: Deckhand Luke Brumer found himself entangled between two of his shipmates, Chef Joy Lefaucheur and Stew Gen Lillie. Ultimately, he decided to pursue Lillie, and together, they retreated to the cabin Luke shares with bosun Nathan Gallagher.
In a surprising twist, Luke and Lillie chose Nathan’s bed for their intimate encounter. Unfortunately, the situation took a messy turn when Luke left a glaring mark on Nathan’s sheets without cleaning up, leaving the state of the bed less than desirable.
Predictably, the sordid tale of the soiled sheets couldn’t remain hidden. The whole crew eventually learned about the incident, including Nathan. Upon discovering what had transpired, it isn’t difficult to see why Nathan’s demeanor towards Luke frosted over rapidly.
Episode 7 concluded with a dramatic moment, as Luke approached Captain Sandy Yawn to share his growing concern over the sudden chill in relations after Nathan came to know about the hygiene blunder that invaded his sleeping quarters.
Tonight’s episode finally answered the question fans have been waiting for: Will Luke quit? Here’s everything we know about Luke’s future on Below Deck Mediterranean.
Did Luke Quit Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11?
Yes!
Episode 8, titled “He Came, They Saw, It’s Bonkers,” picks up at the cliffhanger. Luke elaborates more on why he feels its necessary for him to leave the yacht. In a surprising turn of events, Captain Sandy agrees with him and commends Luke for coming to this decision. She feels he took the mature route by bowing out of the charter season gracefully.
I, for one, am very excited to see the crew dynamic now that Luke’s gone. Justice for Joy!
Who will replace Luke as deckhand?
No one knows.
The remainder of the episode has Captain Sandy working herself to the bone trying to find another deckhand. Unfortunately, it seems no deckhand is free in time for the next charter.
In an exclusive interview with DECIDER, Lillie teased that the rest of the season would not disappoint and viewers could even see a recognizable yachtie (or two!) soon.
“There’s more drama in the interior. Things between Nathan and Joe on deck start getting heated again, There may be some familiar faces coming up, ” she added. “Maybe there’s a a drink thrown at the end of the season. You’ll have to watch and see!”
What’s next for Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11?
Captain Sandy assured us that fans will love the rest of the season.
In her interview with DECIDER, she discussed the long-awaited return of Hannah Ferrier after their infamous Season 5 fallout: “It was great to have her. Hannah did the first five seasons. She deserved to come back for a visit.”
Captain Sandy hinted we can expect Hannah to visit with this season’s crew: “Hannah and Aesha did a full charter season together, so they have remained friends. It was wonderful to have her back.”
