Helena Christensen showed she has lost none of her signature fashion appeal when the supermodel attended Derby Day at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday.
The 57-year-old Danish model highlighted her statuesque figure in a custom Rebecca Vallance creation, while the Australian designer joined her in a second bespoke look from her celebrated label.
Created especially for the Melbourne event, the outfits gave Derby Day’s classic black-and-white dress code a fresh, contemporary edge. The designs combined sculptural shapes, precise tailoring and a distinctly modern take on femininity.
Helena attended as an exclusive guest of Lexus, making her appearance a highlight of the brand’s fashion partnership with the luxury carmaker during the 2026 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
She completed the textured tweed ensemble with a dramatic black wide-brimmed hat by Nerida Winter. A bold scarlet lipstick added a vibrant finishing touch, drawing attention to her naturally youthful features.
Vallance, who is close friends with Helena, told Daily Mail that the model has “an incredible sense of style.”

Vallance and Christensen first met at a fashion industry event overseas. The designer also offered a glimpse into the model’s personality away from the spotlight.
“She is incredibly warm and grounded, and it has been wonderful to share such a special occasion with her,” Vallance said.
“These events are always more enjoyable when you experience them with a girlfriend. Derby Day is one of my favourite fixtures on Melbourne’s social calendar, and I am particularly excited to be here with Helena this year.”
Vallance has built a high-profile clientele that includes members of the royal family, Paris and Nicky Hilton and Kelly Osbourne. Recently recognised as one of the most influential figures in global fashion, she is now preparing to take her brand into more international markets next year.

“We have some very exciting plans for 2027 as we continue expanding internationally, but there is still plenty happening before the end of this year,” she told the Daily Mail.

Helena’s dazzling modelling career was launched when she won the Miss Universe Denmark title in 1986 and went on to reach staggering heights.
She became a household name after appearing in Chris Isaak’s song Wicked Game music video and then went on to become one of the original Victoria’s Secret Angels.
As for her personal life, Helena dated the late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence for five years in the early 1990s.
In 1998 she began a relationship with The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus, 57, for five years.
They welcomed their son, Mingus Lucien Reedus, 27, in 1999. The couple separated in 2003 but remained happy co-parents.
Helena later dated Interpol singer Paul Banks, 48, for seven years.
Earlier this year, Helena celebrated Mother’s Day with her son Mingus, sharing a sweet snap of them having lunch.
