Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, has opened up about the pressure she feels to meet certain beauty standards in the City of Angels.
The couple relocated to Los Angeles in 2021 after the reigning NFL MVP was traded from the Detroit Lions to the Rams.
Kelly, who married the quarterback in 2015, said she has felt the impact of the California lifestyle since moving to the area.
“I, as a 37-year-old woman, feel pressure to look a certain way here. It’s normal for everyone to do things and whatnot. I feel that pressure,” Kelly said during an interview with Us Weekly.
She said she could only imagine how difficult those expectations might be for her four daughters as they grow up in Los Angeles.
“I can only imagine being my daughters growing up here. I would hope that they see it as, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s just what people do here, but we’re good.’ But I think it will be hard. There’s just a lot here,” she said.
Kelly added that values such as good manners, respect and consideration for others remain important, even as she acknowledged that the pressure to fit in feels particularly intense in California.

Kelly also admitted she does not know whether the family will remain in California after Stafford retires. The couple shares four daughters: 9-year-old twins Sawyer and Chandler, 8-year-old Hunter and 6-year-old Tyler.
Stafford signed a one-year, $55 million contract extension with the Rams in May, keeping him under contract through the 2027 season. Even so, questions about when the veteran quarterback might retire have already begun to circulate.
“[Whether we’ll stay in Los Angeles] is a question I ask myself every day. Family’s first for us. I miss my family like crazy,” said Kelly, who is from Georgia.

“But I also have to realize that my daughters are older and have made friends and have routines and sports teams. My husband loves it out here. So, what’s the compromise? I don’t know yet.”
Kelly has previously discussed the cosmetic procedures she underwent after three pregnancies, saying her body changed significantly over the years.
During an episode of her podcast, “The Morning After,” last year, the former cheerleader revealed that she had undergone a “mommy makeover” after 10 years of marriage to the NFL star.
She shared details about the procedures while welcoming her surgeon, Dr. Garth Fisher, onto the podcast as a guest.
“I had my boobs re-done and you also did the tummy tuck,” she said, adding: “And you put back together my a**.”

Kelly also said she had undergone her first breast enhancement years earlier, although she could not recall exactly when the procedure took place.
While she said the surgeries ultimately left her feeling “great” and “very confident,” Kelly acknowledged that she had experienced doubts along the way.
‘You want to do it when you still have that urge to feel sexy,’ she said, adding: ‘I’m not saying at 18 years down the road I might not have a resurgence of that. But I also just think you’re older in age and it gets tougher.’
She continued: ‘A lot of people who live in California know what a tummy tuck is, but in my mind when I was told a tummy tuck, I was like, “That’s lipo[suction], right?” I was thinking fat removal and then skin and I remember being like, “Oh man, OK.”‘
Kelly went on to hint that she and Matthew were finished having children as she added: ‘You don’t want to go in and get a tummy tuck and get rid of the skin and get pregnant again … Because that’s kind of a waste.’
