President Donald Trump on Thursday announced a $2.4 billion commitment from leading technology companies, including Nvidia, OpenAI and Anthropic, to help federal agencies advance AI-powered scientific research.
The investment will expand the Genesis Mission, a federal initiative designed to use artificial intelligence to accelerate scientific discoveries, across 14 agencies focused on energy, health and space, according to the Trump administration.
Nvidia is providing the largest contribution at $1 billion. AMD has pledged $500 million, while OpenAI will donate $200 million. Anthropic and Google have each committed $150 million to the effort.
“With a $1 billion investment, NVIDIA is putting advanced Super Intelligence in the hands of America’s scientists to accelerate breakthroughs in medicine, energy and materials,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement Thursday.
AMP and Emerald AI have each committed $100 million. AWS, Armada, Crusoe and Micron are each contributing $50 million, according to a press release.
The Energy Department launched the Genesis Mission in November 2025.
