Who Is Paris Hilton?

Paris Whitney Hilton was born on February 17, 1981, in New York City, and raised there and in Los Angeles, she is a great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. Hilton first came to the attention of tabloids in the late 1990s when she established herself in the social scene of New York City and, at the age of 19, began modeling for Donald Trump’s firm Trump Model Management.

Hilton was dubbed “New York’s leading It Girl” in 2001 after David LaChapelle photographed her and her sister Nicky for the September 2000 issue of Vanity Fair.

She rose to popularity thanks to the reality TV show The Simple Life (2003–2007), in which she collaborated with her friend Nicole Richie, and a leaked 2003 sex tape with her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon, which was later made public as 1 Night in Paris (2004).

In addition to releasing her eponymous debut studio album, Paris (2006), Hilton also published her first book, Confessions of an Heiress (2004), which went on to become a New York Times Best Seller. She also landed her first significant acting role in the horror remake House of Wax (2005) and produced the hit single “Stars Are Blind” from her debut album.

She has been involved in a variety of media projects, including the reality television shows Paris Hilton’s My New BFF (2008-2009), The World According to Paris (2011), Hollywood Love Story (2018), Cooking with Paris (2021), and Paris in Love (2021-present); the documentaries Paris, Not France (2008), The American Meme (2018), and This Is Paris (2020); the books Your Heiress Diary (2005) and Paris: The Memoir (2023); and the podcast I am Paris (2021-present). She has also performed as a disc jockey and created a line of stand-alone singles.

Hilton, a divisive and well-known public personality, is credited with helping to revive the “famous for being famous” phenomenon in the 2000s.

Critics do claim that she is a prime example of the celebutante, someone who became well-known through inherited wealth and an opulent lifestyle rather than through skill or hard work.

In 2004, 2005, and 2006, Forbes featured her in its Star 100, and in 2006 and 2008, it ranked her as the star who had been “overexposed” the most. Hilton has successfully tapped on her media stardom to launch various businesses.

She has created material for broadcast media, introduced numerous product lines, founded a chain of self-branded boutiques around the world, and opened an urban beach club in the Philippines under her company. Over US$2.5 billion in sales have been generated by her perfume brand alone to date.

Paris Hilton Education

Hilton attended the Buckley School and St. Paul the Apostle School, finishing elementary school in 1995 in Los Angeles. Her freshman year of high school (1995–96) was spent at the Marywood-Palm Valley School in Rancho Mirage, California. In 1996, Hilton and her family left California for the East Coast.

At 15, she attended Professional Children’s School. She skated and played ice hockey while in high school.

In New York City, Hilton had a rebellious youth, regularly skipping classes and sneaking out to parties.

Her parents later sent her, then 16, to a series of boarding schools for emotionally troubled teens, including Provo Canyon School, where she says that she was mentally and physically abused by the staff.

In her documentary, This Is Paris, Hilton and other former students from Provo Canyon School recall the abuses they faced, including solitary confinement, forced medication, restraint, battery, and strangulation.

She attended Provo for 11 months and was released in 1999 when she turned 18. She also attended the Dwight School before dropping out a few months later.

She later earned a GED certification.

“I Killed Him”: Serial Killer Allegedly Murdered His Child Rapist Cellmate Due to Bad Hygiene

0

A convicted California serial killer allegedly strangled his child rapist cellmate to death for his unsanitary habits, according to reports.

Ramon Escobar, 52, was ordered to stand trial in the suspected murder of Juan Villanueva, 53, who was found dead in his cell at North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, earlier this year, Bakersfield television station KGET reported last week.

He’s been charged with first-degree murder and assault by a prisoner serving a life term, according to the outlet.

Escobar is serving multiple life sentences after pleading guilty to the 2018 murders of his aunt and uncle, as well as five homeless men that he bludgeoned to death during a subsequent crime spree in Southern California.

How did Ramon Escobar say he killed Juan Villanueva?

On February 24, prison officials discovered Villanueva unresponsive in his cell shortly before 9 a.m., according to a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation press release. He was rushed to the prison’s triage unit, where he was pronounced dead minutes later, officials said. According to court documents, Escobar, who immediately admitted to strangling Villanueva, allegedly killed his cellmate for his sloppy habits.

“Hey, I’m sorry Jenkins,” Escobar told a responding prison staffer who arrived in the pair’s cell to check on Villanueva, court documents stated. “I killed him.”

Juan Villanueva Arrived at the Prison Just Three Weeks Before His Death

Villanueva was sentenced to life in prison in October 2022 for the aggravated sexual assault of a minor under 14. He arrived at North Kern State Prison on February 2, just weeks before his death.

At the time of the suspected prison killing, Escobar was serving two life sentences without the possibility of parole, as well an additional 124-year sentence for seven slayings in California and Texas. Escobar arrived at the state facility in Delano in December.

The bodies of Escobar’s aunt and uncle, Dina and Rogelio Escobar, were never recovered. Following the pair of killings, Escobar fled to California where he murdered five homeless men in Los Angeles and Santa Monica over a violent two-week timeframe.

Escobar’s victims were identified as Jorge Martinez, 63, Kelvin Williams, 59, Juan Antonio Ramirez, 51, Branden Ridout, 24, and youth sports coach Steven Cruze, 39, according to Fox Los Angeles. Ramirez died of complications related to his injuries in 2021.

Escobar avoided the death penalty through a plea deal, the New York Post reported.

North Kern State Prison also houses rapper Tory Lanez, who was convicted of shooting former fling and fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in the foot and sentenced in August to 10 years in prison. Music producer Phil Spector also was sentenced to life in prison at North Kern for the 2003 killing of actress and House of Blues hostess, Lana Clarkson. The famed producer had initially claimed Clarkson’s death was an accidental suicide.

Escobar is due back in court this week, at which point a trial date is expected to be set, according to KGET. It’s unclear if he’s retained legal representation to comment on his behalf.

Starting as a researcher on Panorama, she soon progressed to become a reporter on prime-time current affairs series, including Newsnight and Panorama. For four years, she presented and reported on her own investigative current affairs series, Real Story, which won five awards from the Royal Television Society.

In 2001, Fiona became the first female presenter to be part of the BBC’s general election studio team and she has won three Newscaster of the Year awards from the Television and Radio Industry Club. Fiona has also presented a number of arts documentaries for the BBC, most recently Fake or Fortune? for BBC One which she co-presents with Philip Mould.

Fiona Bruce Age

Question Time host Fiona Elizabeth Bruce was born on 25 April 1964 in Singapore State, Malaysia.

Fiona Bruce Husband

Antiques Roadshow presenter Fiona Bruce is married to her husband Nigel Sharrocks. The couple, who have been married since July 1994, share two children – son Sam and daughter Mia.

Fiona Bruce Children

Fiona Bruce shares two children with her husband, advertising boss Nigel Sharrocks; a son named Sam and a daughter called Mia.

Speaking about her family back in August 2021, Fiona admitted she did not spend enough time with her two children when they were growing up because of her high profile TV career.

Appearing on the cover of October’s edition of Good Housekeeping, she was asked how she balances work and motherhood, admitting: “It was definitely helped by having the same nanny living with us for 20 years. She left when Mia finished her GCSEs, but she’s a firm family friend.’

She added: “Did I spend enough time with my children? Scratch the surface of any working woman and she will always think, “Probably not.” I don’t think there’s such a thing as quality time with your children. I think it’s quantity.

“But there’s never been any question that they take precedence over everything in my life, and always have done.”

Fiona Bruce Salary

Fiona Bruce is one of the BBC’s highest-paid presenters. She earned £395,000-400,000 for the 2022-23 financial year. Fiona Bruce Height

She stands at a height of 5′ 10″ (1.78 m).

Fiona Bruce Antiques Roadshow

Fiona Bruce joined the Antiques Roadshow as the presenter in 2008. One of her favourite things about working on the Roadshow is that she never knows what’s going to turn up or what she will be filming that day – “it’s all spontaneous and entirely unpredictable”.

A typical Roadshow day for Fiona starts with a brief press call for the local media. She then gets stuck into finding out what’s turned up and talking to visitors about what they’ve brought along. When she’s not filming, she works at the reception desk which is where we get our first look at what items have been brought in.

Fiona’s most memorable (and unusual) find on the Roadshow is a desiccated caul – it’s a foetal membrane that was once a pretty valuable commodity, and it was even thought to protect the owner from drowning!

Fiona Bruce Question Time

Fiona Bruce has hosted Question Time since 2019 and took over from the long-serving presenter David Dimbleby.

In October 2023, Fiona Bruce apologised to a Question Time audience member for identifying him as “the black guy” on air. On Thursday 5 October 2023, the BBC broadcast an episode of Question Time from Wolverhampton. Bruce, who had identified other white members of the audience by what they were wearing, directed the microphone to Roberto Gocan, 35, by calling him “the black guy in the middle”. The remarks were broadcast on BBC One but later edited out when the show was available to watch on iPlayer.

In a statement released through the BBC, Bruce said: “I totally understand why my words last night caused offence and I apologise. I have spoken to the audience member directly and explained that usually I can see and describe an item of clothing or otherwise to help sound engineers with a microphone find people in the audience.

“Last night that was not the case as my view was obscured. In the split second I had, the easiest thing to do would have been to ignore the audience member and move on, but I felt strongly that his voice should be heard. Nonetheless, I feel it was wrong to identify him as I did and that’s why it was removed from the later edited programme.”

A BBC spokesperson said: “We regret the choice of words used to identify the audience member. The intent was to ensure his voice was heard, however we recognise we should not have identified him in this way and apologise for any offence caused. As such, the recorded version on iPlayer has been edited to remove this.”

A search incident to arrest reportedly produced a pocket knife that the victim identified as the same one used to threaten him. Officers also viewed an iPhone Live Photo that reportedly showed Schaff pulling out the knife and making a slashing motion toward security guards.

Schaff has an Alachua County criminal history going back to 2007; he has four felony convictions (none violent) and six misdemeanor convictions (none violent). He was found incompetent to stand trial in 2021 after arrests for petit theft, burglary, property damage, and battery on an officer; he was found competent to stand trial about six months later after a stay in the State Hospital and entered a plea of nolo contendere to some of the charges, resulting in a sentence of 364 days in jail with credit for 364 days served. The battery charge was dropped.

Judge Walter Green set bail at $10,000.
