Dion Middleton, 45, is accused of shooting Chaluisant while he was sitting in the passenger seat of a silver Acura near the Cross Bronx Expressway and Morris Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Thursday. He was arrested later that day at the firing range where he works after police retrieved surveillance footage of the incident and tracked him down.

The authorities had assumed that when responders opened the door, a water-pellet gun fell out of the teen’s lap. Esquiln, who was enraged after learning that Middleton had returned to work following the shooting, claimed that Chaluisant’s father had died only six months before.

She further added that correctional officers are trained to be patient but the officer chose to shoot rather than understand the ongoing environment. The family of 18-years old are asking for justice.

Remus Medina, Quezon City Police District (QPCD) director, has identified the suspect as Dr. Chao Tiao Yumol in the Ateneo De Manila University shooting case.
