DCLM Daily Manna 12 July 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Eyes On Details

TOPIC: Eyes On Details (DCLM Daily Manna 12 July 2026)

KEY VERSE: Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them – Exodus 26:1

TEXT: Exodus 26:1-14 (KJV)

1 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.

2 The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure.

3 The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another.

4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.

5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.

6 And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.

7 And thou shalt make curtains of goats’ hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.

8 The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains shall be all of one measure.

9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tabernacle.

10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.

11 And thou shalt make fifty taches of brass, and put the taches into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.

12 And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.

13 And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers’ skins.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

Sir William Osler was an eminent professor of medicine at Oxford University. In demonstrating his lesson on the necessity of observing details to his eager students, he dipped a finger in a bottle containing urine and then into his mouth. He passed the bottle round and bade the students to do exactly what he did. After each of them in turn had dipped a finger in the bottle and bravely sampled the fluid, the professor announced their failure in observation. They did not observe that he put his index finger into the bottle, but his middle finger into his mouth!

God is a God of details. This is clear in our text where He gave Moses instructions regarding the making of the tabernacle. Observe the minute and accurate description given here concerning both the outer and inner aspects of the tabernacle. The inner part was to comprise ten curtains with specified length, loops and clasps. The outer coverings were to be made of goat’s skin, comprising eleven curtains. A cover was also to be made to secure the tabernacle from the weather.

The specifications for the tabernacle emphasised both aesthetics and functionality. The finest materials and colours were prescribed to reflect the glory and majesty of God, whose dwelling place the tabernacle represented. The house of God today should attract no less attention. The tabernacle was to be designed as a movable structure because Israel was still journeying in the wilderness. A permanent temple was built when they eventually settled in their promised land. The curtains were to be embroidered with cherubim – an indication of the angelic ministry to God and His people.

In matters of lifestyle, Christian service and worship, we must not resort to pragmatism and doing things as we see fit or in sync with the popular winds. We must pay attention to detail and ensure we build according to the divine pattern spelt out in God’s word. Those who gloss over many things and assure themselves that “it doesn’t matter” will eventually discover to their disappointment that God is interested in details.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
God measures our obedience by the “little things” He demands.

Tragic Loss: Jayden Adams, 25, Passes Away Following World Cup Match

0

Tragedy struck as South African midfielder Jayden Adams, a participant in the current FIFA World Cup, passed away at just 25 years old.

The news of his untimely death was announced by Gayton McKenzie, the country’s minister of sport, arts, and culture, in a statement released overnight.

“I am profoundly shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jayden Adams, a talented midfielder for both Mamelodi Sundowns and the national team, Bafana Bafana, at the young age of 25,” McKenzie shared on X.

“The loss of such a promising player is a blow to South African football. Our entire nation stands in mourning with his family, fellow players, and the countless fans who supported him.”

Adams played a crucial role in helping South Africa advance to the knockout stages of the World Cup for the very first time.

Police investigation into Adams’ death

The minister did not disclose a cause of death in his statement.

“The cause of Jayden’s passing has not yet been confirmed,” McKenzie said.

“I wish to appeal to members of the media and the public to exercise restraint and compassion, and to refrain from speculation.”

Police said they had opened an investigation after the body of a 25-year-old man was found at a house in Schotschekloof, a suburb in central Cape Town, on Saturday morning.

“Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation,” Western Cape police spokesperson FC van Wyk told Agence France-Presse.

Adams honoured at Norway vs England

A moment of silence in honour of Adams was held before the kickoff of the World Cup quarter-final between Norway and England in Florida on Sunday.

Adams played in all three of South Africa’s group-stage matches at the World Cup, as Bafana Bafana reached the Round of 32 for the first time, but did not feature in the knockout defeat by Canada.

He was also part of the South Africa squad that finished third at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said he was “so incredibly sad to hear” that Adams had passed away just weeks after featuring in his nation’s historic World Cup campaign.

“My thoughts and condolences, as well as those of everyone at FIFA and the global football community, are with his family, friends and teammates,” Infantino said in a statement.

Born in Cape Town, Adams came through the Stellenbosch FC academy and became the club’s first youth graduate to sign a professional contract in August 2020.

He went on to make 139 appearances for the Cape Winelands side and helped them win the Carling Knockout in 2023 before joining Mamelodi Sundowns in January 2025.

At Sundowns, the midfielder added a Premiership title and a CAF Champions League crown to his list of honours.

His death comes less than a month after the passing of his grandmother, on the eve of South Africa’s Group A match against Czechia at Atlanta Stadium.

“Jayden started in the match against Czechia and gave his all while carrying the burden of losing his grandmother,” the South African Football Association said at the time.

“Death has cruelly stolen one of our own. It has robbed our nation of a remarkable footballer,” the South African Football Players Union posted on X.

“We will forever remember his humility, his extraordinary talent and the pride with which he represented South Africa. Rest in eternal peace, Jayden. You will never be forgotten.”

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and the South African Federation of Trade Unions also expressed their condolences.

Rhapsody Of Realities 12 July 2026: A “Holy Kiss”—What It Really Means

Rhapsody Of Realities 12 July 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): A “Holy Kiss”—What It Really Means

TOPIC: A “Holy Kiss”—What It Really Means (Rhapsody of Realities 12 July 2026)

Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you (Romans 16:16).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

When the Apostle Paul wrote, “Salute one another with an holy kiss,” he wasn’t introducing a ritual; he was addressing the sincerity of relationships among God’s people. To understand this, you must look beyond the surface. In those days, a kiss was a common form of greeting. But Paul added a qualifier—“holy.” That’s because not every expression of affection is genuine.

The Lord Jesus Himself highlighted this when Judas came to betray Him. The Bible says, “And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him” (Matthew 26:49-50). Judas’ kiss wasn’t sincere. It concealed betrayal. Read Luke’s account: “And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?” (Luke 22:47-48).

This is the context for Paul’s instruction. He was emphasising sincerity, loyalty and truthfulness in our expressions toward one another. Don’t show affection outwardly while harbouring hatred and contrary thoughts inwardly. Express genuine love. Be honest without pretence.

The Bible says, “Let love be without dissimulation…” (Romans 12:9). Let your love not have hidden intentions. This goes beyond physical gestures. It speaks to your entire conduct—how you greet, how you relate, how you respond to others in the body of Christ; there should be no hypocrisy.

As God’s people, you’re called to a higher standard of living and relationship, not one shaped by suspicion or duplicity but by sincerity and truth. You don’t say one thing and mean another. You don’t act one way and think another. Your life must be consistent; your heart, your words, and your actions must align.

Also, you must exercise wisdom. Times have changed, and expressions may differ across cultures. What matters is not the form but the spirit behind it, which is genuine love, expressed with purity and discretion. So, when you show love and affection to others, let it be real. Let it be true. Let it reflect the love of Christ in your heart. That’s what makes it holy.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the love of Christ in my heart. I walk in sincerity, truth and genuine affection toward others. My words and actions are consistent, reflecting God’s nature in me. I express divine love with purity and wisdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

US Citizen Diagnosed with Ebola During Congo Assignment Amid Unprecedented Outbreak

    0

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed that an American working in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has recently tested positive for Ebola. This development highlights the ongoing struggle with the virus in Central Africa.

This individual, who remains unnamed and is employed by a humanitarian organization, marks the second U.S. citizen to contract the virus during the recent outbreak. The news arrives as health officials continue to contend with the spread of Ebola in the region.

Previously, Dr. Peter Stafford, another U.S. citizen, recuperated fully after being flown to Germany from the Congo in May. His recovery came during the initial stages of the current outbreak.

In a statement released on Friday, the CDC emphasized they were informed about a U.S. national working for a humanitarian group in DRC who contracted the Bundibugyo virus. This strain is one of several types of Ebola that have prompted global health concerns. For more information, the CDC provides resources about Ebola on their website.

The agency added: “CDC is working with the patient’s employing organization, other U.S. federal agencies, public health authorities, and partners in DRC to help prevent further transmission by supporting contact tracing and performing risk assessments to identify high-risk contacts.”

Stafford returned to the U.S. last month after testing negative for the virus.

“I am filled with gratitude to God for preserving my life, to all those who prayed on my behalf, and to the many medical providers who cared for me,” he said in a statement. “I am feeling well and thankful to be reunited with Rebekah and the kids. Our prayers continue for those in Congo who are facing this devastating epidemic and for the ongoing efforts to control the disease.”

This is the fastest-growing Ebola outbreak ever recorded in Africa with 1,830 confirmed cases in Congo, including 648 deaths, according to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Cases have also been reported in Uganda.

Bundibugyo virus has no approved vaccine or treatment.

Last month, a French doctor tested positive for the virus after returning to Paris and no cases have been detected in the U.S.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said the risk of a global outbreak of the virus, which is not airborne but spreads through bodily fluids, remains low.

Congolese authorities declared an Ebola outbreak on May 15.

The U.S. ramped up security precautions after the outbreak was declared, including enhanced health screenings for citizens returning from the region and restricted entry for non-U.S. citizens in the region.

California Faces Outbreak of Severe Parasitic Diarrhea: What You Need to Know

    0

A troubling parasitic outbreak known for causing intense “explosive diarrhea” has made its presence felt in California, joining a rapidly spreading health concern in the United States. Authorities caution that the official case numbers in the state likely only represent a small portion of the actual infections.

Recent state reports indicate a link between 1 and 10 cases in California and a larger outbreak affecting the state, as health officials continue their efforts to monitor its progress.

The true extent of the outbreak is elusive, as many individuals recover without seeking medical attention or undergoing testing. The detection of this parasite requires specialized lab tests, and confirmed infections can take up to six weeks to be officially reported, according to experts.

In California, most cases have been attributed to international travel rather than the expanding outbreak across several states.

Nationally, the outbreak has affected at least 2,944 individuals across 32 states, with Michigan experiencing the highest impact.

The state has reported 1,562 infections, roughly 31 times the approximately 50 cases it typically records in a year, and at least 44 people have been hospitalized.

Investigators are examining whether contaminated food is driving the spike, but they have not identified a specific produce item, supplier or grower responsible for the outbreak.

Cyclospora, the parasite behind the illness known as cyclosporiasis, is typically spread through food or water contaminated with feces.

Previous outbreaks have been traced to imported fresh produce, including raspberries, basil, snow peas, mesclun lettuce and cilantro.

According to the CDC, the illness can cause severe gastrointestinal symptoms, including watery diarrhea “with frequent and sometimes explosive bowel movements.”

Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bloating, fatigue, loss of appetite and weight loss.

Symptoms usually begin about one week after infection, although they can appear anywhere from two days to two weeks later, making it more difficult for investigators to determine where someone was exposed.

The CDC recommends treating cyclosporiasis with the antibiotic trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, commonly sold as Bactrim, Septra and Cotrim, over a 10-day course.

As investigators continue searching for the source of the outbreak, some Taco Bell restaurants have temporarily removed fresh ingredients from their menus as a precaution.

Locations, including some in Metro Detroit, posted notices telling customers they were temporarily unable to serve lettuce, cilantro, onions, pico de gallo and guacamole because of a nationwide recall while health officials respond to the increase in cyclosporiasis cases.

Restaurants in outbreak hot spots, including Michigan and Ohio, have also pulled raw lettuce, onions, cilantro-onion mix, pico de gallo and guacamole from their menus.

However, neither the CDC nor the Food and Drug Administration has linked Taco Bell to any reported illnesses.

Heidi Klum’s Bold Confession on Body Image Challenges Hollywood Norms

    0

The fashion world received an honest revelation this week when supermodel Heidi Klum opened up about embracing her body in its current, fuller, and likely healthier form. For years, the industry incessantly labeled Klum as ‘too fat,’ yet now, like many celebrities her age, she acknowledges a reality often unspoken.

In a candid interview with US Weekly, Klum shared, ‘I’m no longer a size 24 jean. But I think with age, we look better when we’re not as skinny.’

Hearing Klum express these thoughts wasn’t just refreshing; it felt like a personal triumph for those who have long advocated for body positivity.

The memory takes me back to 1999, during my tenure as the editor-in-chief of Marie Claire magazine in the United Kingdom. I had just commissioned Klum for a cover story.

At the time, Klum was in her mid-twenties, epitomizing the ideal blend of thinness and beauty. However, when the contact sheet of our cover photos arrived, there was an unexpected tension.

Klum’s eyes, under the relentless glare of the camera in close-up, were surrounded by crow’s feet. Rather than looking glum like so many models of that era, when grunge and heroin-chic were all the rage, Klum had dared to laugh in most of the pics. Hence the lines around her eyes.

I assumed Klum wouldn’t be happy and so, fairly new to the job and not yet fearless, I contacted Klum’s ‘people’, offering to air brush Klum’s eyes to perfection.

To my surprise, Klum’s response, even during her sexy Victoria’s Secret stardom, was to leave her face as nature intended. No model or Hollywood star had ever said such a thing to me.

I was thrilled to learn this week that supermodel Heidi Klum is now openly embracing what she describes as her fuller, rounder and, most likely, healthier figure

I was thrilled to learn this week that supermodel Heidi Klum is now openly embracing what she describes as her fuller, rounder and, most likely, healthier figure

‘I’m no longer a size 24 jean,’ she revealed in an interview with US Weekly. ‘But I think with age, we look better when we’re not as skinny’

Sadly, I was over-ruled and forced to print the single pose where Klum looked moody, with the wrinkles around her eye sockets ironed out. She was understandably and commendably dismayed.

Today, this brave early champion of body positivity credits her husband, Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz, 36, whom she married in 2019, for encouraging her brazen  confidence. ‘He said, “You should eat more. You would look better if you had more meat on your bones.” He’s right! Proportion-wise, I look better bigger,’ the now 53-year-old Klum explained. (Agreed: ‘lollipop lady’ is never a good look.)

Despite Kaulitz’s clearly loving intent, the recovering anorexic in me cringes each time I hear about a woman changing her appearance and eating habits because a man tells her to. Anyone with an eating disorder knows that being chided to ‘just try a little’ harder can have the opposite effect on our appetite.

I grew up with parents, teachers, health workers and later a husband imploring an always slim me to eat three meals a day and snacks in between; yeah, like that’s ever going to happen!

As Bridget Jones would say, ‘Bugger off!’

Looking at photos of Klum’s husband, who is handsome but could use a spa day, makes me want to tell him to please get a haircut and a shave!

Women, of course, should have complete autonomy over their bodies, eating only for their own happiness and health. And Klum has plenty to be happy about, including four children (three with her ex-husband, the pop star Seal) and a still booming career as a model and television host.

In an industry where sacrifice (body, mind, soul) so often trumps satisfaction, Klum’s contentment is very welcome news. Especially when fat jabs now make it so easy to be thin and quiet the food ‘noise’.

A perverse side effect of these new drugs is that to be deliciously Klum-curvy is to rebel against the thin-is-in trend. By showing that she won’t be swayed, won’t succumb to the pressure for the easy way out, Klum is helping every woman to love herself and her flaws – and hopefully form an anti-fat jab resistance in the process.

Klum has plenty to be happy about, including four children (three with ex-husband, the pop star Seal) and a still booming career as a model and television host. (Pictured: Klum with her husband in Cannes in May)

While she has never admitted to using fat-shots, Demi Moore is so cadaverous, she barely casts a shadow

While she has never admitted to using fat-shots, Demi Moore is so cadaverous, she barely casts a shadow

I’ve interviewed hundreds of female film stars and models over the years and, understandably, given it’s their job to look beautiful, they are almost always wracked with insecurities, which of course makes them entirely unsuitable to be role models.

One famous actress lied about her age and puffed up to the size of a balloon when I arrived to interview her years ago. Considering that I’d first met her when she was still a schoolgirl, she was terrified by the fact I knew her true vintage.

Another huge (tiny) star, who had been married to the world’s No.1 box-office draw, was so worryingly slim that she had to sneak chicken fillets down her bra while dressing for a cover shoot to give herself a bit of cleavage. And on and on.

No woman is perfect, and I applaud Klum for having the balls to say so. As a US size 4 in my sixties, I agree that older women do not look great with scant flesh on their bones.

I could post an excoriating selfie of my own modest physique, but instead will direct you towards Demi Moore on her most recent red-carpet outings. While she has never admitted to using fat-shots, Moore is so cadaverous, she barely casts a shadow.

With Klum-styled self-love still such an outlier in Hollywood, actresses and models should be the last women we look to for guidance on our own bodies and mental wellbeing.

Instead, I would encourage young women to turn their gaze towards sports stars: it’s not the prettiest woman who won the Wimbledon Grand Slam this weekend.

It was the strongest, the woman brimming with self-belief, devoid of make-up, sweating profusely and swearing.

We should be looking toward women who are making noise and taking up space; bravo to Klum for taking up all the space she’s worked so hard and so long to secure.

Warm Sunday Anticipates Increased Storm Likelihood

ORLANDO, Fla. – Saturday was a weather rollercoaster for Central Florida, as a mix of gripping heat and dramatic storms swept through the region. Temperatures raced to the mid-to-upper 90s, prompting heat advisories, while scattered thunderstorms favored the corridors between I-4 and I-75. In Marion County, some neighborhoods experienced severe thunderstorms that left a noticeable mark. You can view some of the damage HERE. As the evening unfolded, spotty storms persisted until about 9 p.m., followed by the possibility of just a shower or two. By 10 p.m., the skies cleared, leaving behind only passing clouds and temperatures dipping into the comfortable mid-to-upper 70s.

    Sunday

    Heat is sub-advisory level.

As we look towards Sunday, Central Florida braces for another warm afternoon, but there’s a silver lining. The heat, though significant, won’t quite reach advisory levels, so prepare for highs in the mid-90s and heat indices ranging from 100ºF to 105ºF. More clouds bring optimism, as increased rain chances are in the forecast thanks to a stronger westerly steering flow, particularly for those east of I-4.

Rain chances increase for East Coast Sunday afternoon.

Expect spotty storms to start bubbling up around I-75 by noon, gradually advancing towards I-4 by early to mid-afternoon. As these showers journey eastward, the second half of the afternoon may see downpours reaching the coastal beaches, promising a refreshing but brief respite before they dissipate around sunset.

    Next Week

A thicker plume of dust expected for Central Florida to start the week.

Our next batch of Saharan Dust will begin pushing into Central Florida next week. This will allow us to dry out the atmosphere and heat us up at the same time.

Rain chances gradually decline as dust settles in.

Rain chances will be shaved by 10% each day until we bottom out at 20% by Wednesday. Temperatures, in turn, will soar back into the upper 90s with heat indices crossing north of 105ºF.

Chicago Archdiocese Reveals Decades-Old Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Michael Pfleger at St. Sabina

    0

CHICAGO (WLS) — Father Michael Pfleger is currently under investigation following an accusation of sexual abuse against a minor, as disclosed by Cardinal Blase Cupich, the Archbishop of Chicago, on Saturday.

According to a letter from Cardinal Cupich, the alleged incident reportedly took place over three decades ago at Saint Sabina Parish, located at 1210 W. 78th Pl., in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham area.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

“In line with our child protection policies, I have requested that Father Pfleger temporarily step down from his ministry duties and reside away from the parish during the investigation,” the letter stated. It also noted, “However, it is important to mention that Father Pfleger vehemently denies the allegation.”

In the meantime, Father Thulani Magwaza will continue his role as pastor of St. Sabina, as mentioned in the letter.

In a statement released Saturday evening, Pfleger addressed the allegation, saying, “On Thursday, July 9th, I was informed by the Vicar for Priests that a woman who attended school at St. Sabina accused me of sexual abuse occurring between 1993 and 1995. I must state unequivocally that this is a false accusation. Throughout my 51 years of ministry, I have faced threats, slander, and attacks…”

“Let me be clear, sexual abuse is wrong and I realize that the Catholic Church has a long history of not dealing with accusations and has spent a number of years putting strong policies in place, but I have said countless times I believe the current policy is wrong and unfair to the accused priest,” Pfleger’s statement continued. “Before an investigation or even a conversation has taken place a priest is removed and told to remain silent during their process. The presumption of innocence does not exist for priests. But at this point, I will no longer be quiet. I have no memory of this girl nor do countless others who have been at St. Sabina for those years. The statement she has supposedly made is absolutely not true, and the facts will show that this is just an attempt by someone who is either being unfairly manipulated by others to hurt my reputation, or who is simply trying to make money by making false accusations.

“I believe this is another attempt and another attack by those who have sought to destroy me for years and another attempt by someone to get money from the Archdiocese and to silence me.

“I will not stand by and allow my name, my ministry, and the church I pastor to be slandered or defamed.”

Pfleger has faced multiple similar allegations in recent years, but was later reinstated by the Archdiocese of Chicago.

    This is a developing story.
