Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Andre Gray Announce Exciting News: Baby Number Three on the Way

Leigh-Anne Pinnock and her husband, Andre Gray, are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their third child.

The singer joyfully announced the pregnancy via Instagram, posting a video captured in a recording studio. The captivating clip begins with close-up shots of Pinnock, eventually pulling back to unveil her growing baby bump.

“As one chapter ends, another begins,” she wrote in the heartfelt caption accompanying her post.

Pinnock, 34, and Gray are already proud parents to their twin daughters, born in 2021. The couple has chosen to maintain their daughters’ privacy by not disclosing their names or sharing any photos of their faces.

During a February interview with People, Pinnock elaborated on their decision to shield their children from the public spotlight.

“I remember when they were born, I was going through this online hate thing and really seeing the toxicity of social media,” she said. “I mean, I probably would’ve still decided to not show their faces anyway, but that just kind of confirmed it for me. I want them to be able to make that decision.”

“I want them to be able to choose if they want to be famous or not, because once they’re out there, they’re out there,” she continued. “And I think that’s such a big thing. It’s just a f—ing scary place out there.”

While fans won’t be seeing the twins anytime soon, their voices can be heard at the end of “Heaven,” the closing track on My Ego Told Me To.

“I cry every time I listen to that song,” Pinnock said. “It’s actually my favorite song of all time, to be honest.”

Pinnock rose to fame as a member of Little Mix after the group won The X Factor in 2011. The quartet went on to become one of the best-selling girl groups in U.K. history before announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2022.

July 11 World Cup 2026: Complete Scores, Match Reports, and Highlights

0

In a thrilling encounter on Saturday, Mikel Merino emerged as the hero for Spain, delivering a late goal that shattered Belgium’s dreams and secured Spain’s spot in the World Cup semi-final with a 2-1 victory.

This electrifying finish at Los Angeles Stadium paves the way for an exciting semi-final clash between Spain, the reigning European champions, and tournament favorites France, led by the in-form Kylian Mbappé, scheduled for Wednesday in Dallas.

This marks only the second time Spain has reached the World Cup semi-finals, the last time being in 2010 when they ultimately lifted the trophy.

For Belgium, the match ended in sorrow as their substitute goalkeeper, Senne Lammens, was unable to stop a crucial shot that fell perfectly for Merino to convert.

The tense conclusion followed an opening goal from Fabián Ruiz for Spain, with Charles De Ketelaere equalizing for Belgium in a surprising counter-attack just before halftime.

Welcoming Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku back to the starting XI, Belgium were rocked by a hamstring injury during the warm-ups to captain Youri Tielemans that hit them hard.

Having already lost Amadou Onana to a ruptured ACL, the Red Devils would have to play a near second-choice midfield against the Spanish possession masters.

Ruiz, brought in for Pedri, wasted no time combining with Rodri to dominate the ball and Barcelona’s teen sensation Lamine Yamal curled an early shot just wide of the far post.

But opposing winger Doku was bright for Belgium, cutting in from the left to feed De Ketelaere, the striker fresh from his brace against the United States on Monday.

Still, it was Spain who struck first. On the half-hour mark, Pedro Porro played a sharp one-two with Lamine Yamal before expertly cutting it back from near the byline to Dani Olmo.

Olmo’s shot was parried by Thibaut Courtois, but fell to Ruiz, who fired it home.

Suddenly it was all Spain. They pinged passes around the Belgian half as though this World Cup quarter-final was a training exercise, laid on for an A-list crowd featuring Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and Noel Gallagher.

But Belgium, having fought back astonishingly late from 2-0 down in the Round of 32 to dispatch Senegal, did not panic.

They grabbed one back in the 41st minute. De Bruyne slid a through ball wide to Timothy Castagne. His cross found De Ketelaere, who perfectly timed his run and outmuscled Barcelona youngster Pau Cubarsi to head home.

It was the first goal Spain had conceded this World Cup.

Improbably, Belgium almost grabbed another before half-time. Breaking from a Spain corner, De Ketelaere’s pass to a totally clear Doku was barely intercepted by Olmo.

Yamal grew into the game after the break, nearly finding Mikel Oyarzabal with an incisive cross that was well blocked by a charging Courtois.

Belgian coach Rudi Garcia brought on veteran striker Romelu Lukaku, who had scored from the bench in three straight games.

The game opened up. A Belgian cross hit Rodri’s arm, but the impact was deemed accidental. Oyarzabal had a shot saved from a close, tight angle.

A tearful Courtois was forced off by injury after 70 minutes. He was replaced by Lammens, the 24-year-old Manchester United keeper making his World Cup debut in daunting circumstances.

It turned out to be a nightmare.

In the 88th minute, Cubarsi shot low from range, and Lammens should have held onto the ball. Instead, substitute Mikel Merino was first to the rebound, smashing it home.

It was the Arsenal midfielder’s second straight late winner from the bench, after he scored the crucial goal against Portugal in stoppage time on Monday.

Late on Alexis Saelemaekers rounded Unai, but was unable to find Lukaku in front of an open goal.

As the whistle blew, Courtois came out to embrace a distraught Lammens, while other members of Belgium’s ageing “Golden Generation” stood immobile and disbelieving.

For Spain there were embraces and fist pumps, before attention quickly turned to their blockbuster clash with France.

Tragic Bahamas Plane Crash Claims Ten Lives: What We Know So Far

0

In a tragic incident, a small plane crash in the Bahamas resulted in the loss of ten lives. What was intended to be a brief 20-minute journey ended in catastrophe.

The devastating accident occurred just before 1 PM on Friday in North Andros, a location situated to the west of Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. This information was confirmed by the Bahamian Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority said.

The aircraft, operated by Flamingo Air, departed from Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, with its destination set for San Andros Airport, a mere 40 miles away.

Tragically, the plane reportedly encountered difficulties, causing it to crash into a wooded area before reaching its intended landing site, as indicated by authorities.

Footage captured in the aftermath displays the remnants of the wreckage, charred and scattered through a dense section of forest.

The crash came on the day that the Bahamas celebrated its 53rd independence anniversary, with Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis saying the occasion had become ‘a day of mourning.’

‘We gather beneath a cloud of great sorrow,’ Davis said, according to the Associated Press.

‘To every family that has received the devastating news that someone they love will not be coming home, we offer our deepest condolences,’ he added.

Davis initially said that one person survived the wreck, though he later confirmed that the individual had died from their injuries.

Officials identified the plane as a Bahamas–registered Cessna 402 with the registration C6-FLX.

Shanta Knowles, the Bahamas Commissioner of Police, confirmed that police had a list of the victims’ names, according to Our News Bahamas.

However, their identities would not be released until family members were identified to make sure that the listing was correct.

Knowles added that a team of investigators was in Andros to attempt to piece the fatal accident together.

Members of Bahamian musical group Da Pond Band were scheduled to be on the flight, according to CBS News.

The Bahamas Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Aviation said in a statement that Flamingo Air’s air operator certificate had been suspended temporarily as a ‘precautionary safety measure.’

The statement added that the suspension ‘should not be treated as an adverse compliance action’ against the airline.

However, it specified that the suspension was also attributed to a second ‘safety incident’ that had occurred that day.

During a press conference on Friday, Jobeth Coleby–Davis, the Bahamian minister of energy, utilities and aviation, said an issue with a separate Flamingo Air flight had been reported earlier that morning.

Coleby–Davis explained that the plane was flying to Mayaguana when the pilot had concerns and returned to Nassau, according to local outlet The Tribune.

After landing in the country’s capital and evacuating everyone off the plane, the aircraft caught on fire, Coleby–Davis said.

She confirmed that no one had died in that incident, which was being investigated.

Flamingo Air addressed the fatal plane crash while extending condolences to the victims’ families.

‘We can confirm that an aircraft owned by Flamingo Air experienced a fatal crash in the North Andros, Bahamas, area today,’ the company said in a statement reported by the outlet.

The airline added that they were committed to cooperating with the relevant authorities.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Flamingo Air and the Bahamian Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority for further comment.

The star of ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ addressed her son’s actions, condemning them as ‘unacceptable,’ and acknowledged the incident as a ‘tough learning moment’ for her family on social media.

Jennifer Pedranti, rather than enjoying the season 20 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County on Bravo this Thursday, found herself dispelling rumors related to her son’s involvement in sparking a potentially hazardous fire in their Southern California neighborhood.

On July 9, Jennifer used her Instagram Story to confront circulating whispers concerning one of her children’s alleged connection to a recent brush fire in Ladera Ranch.

“He and others were involved,” the Bravo star wrote. “My ex-husband and myself take this very serious. This behavior is unacceptable and we are deeply sorry to our community. This is a tough learning moment for our son and our family.”

Jennifer shares four sons and a daughter with her former husband, William Pedranti: Harrison, 22, Dawson, 19, Greyson, 16, Everleigh, 14, and Dominic, 12. She did not share which son was involved in starting the fire.

The Ladera Ranch blaze broke out on Tuesday. It eventually spread to seven acres, according to a Facebook update from the Orange County Fire Authority.

“We’re making great progress and stopped the spread toward homes,” OCFA Capt. Sean Doran told My News LA on July 7. “We’re looking good.”

As of July 8, the fire was under control, per a post from the OCFA on X.

‘RHOC’ star is ‘so thankful’ nobody was hurt in the fire

In her Instagram post, Jennifer said she and her family were “so thankful” that the fire did not cause any injuries or property damage.

“The fire and police were absolutely amazing and gave these boys a lesson they will never forget. There were no arrests made, but consequences for their actions are being put in place,” she added.

Jennifer said that her son would be taking a fire safety course “to make sure a mistake like this never happens again.”

“There are consequences within our family and we will make sure our son learns from this accident.”

Wildfires are a serious threat in California, with 182,197 acres burned in 2025 alone, according to CalFire. That year began with the outbreak of multiple deadly and destructive fires in the Los Angeles area. The Eaton Fire burned over 14,000 acres, destroyed 9,413 structures, and caused 19 deaths. The Palisades Fire burned nearly 24,000 acres, destroyed 6,833 structures, and killed 12 people. Those fires are the second- and third-most destructive in California history, after 2018’s Camp Fire, which devastated the Northern California town of Paradise and killed 85 people.

From Super Bowl Glory to Hometown Hero: Jacardia Wright’s Inspiring Return to Decatur

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Jacardia Wright’s football journey has taken him from college teams such as Kansas State and Missouri State to the professional level with the Seattle Seahawks this past season.

Hailing from St. Teresa, Wright reached a new pinnacle as he became a Super Bowl champion, having been elevated to Seattle’s active roster by week three of the season.

On July 10, he organized an inspiring event at the Lincoln Square Theater, aiming to motivate the younger generation to pursue their aspirations.

“Honestly, just be confident in everything you want to do and don’t let your zip code dictate where you want to go in your life,” Wright advised. “It’s a big world out there, and just keep working hard and doing everything you can, and possibly just make it to the top for sure.”

In 2018, Wright was named the WCIA 3 Football Player of the Year and stands as one of the most celebrated running backs in IHSA state history. His impressive record includes being second in career rushing yards (8,821), rushing touchdowns (133), and third in points scored (330). Remarkably, his 55 total touchdowns as a senior remains a state record.

Chamber of Commerce Shifts Pierogi Fest Sponsorship to Support Locked-Out Refinery Workers

0

WHITING, Ind. (WLS) — The Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce has opted to return a sponsorship contribution from BP Refinery earmarked for this month’s Pierogi Fest. Additionally, they intend to generate funds in support of refinery workers who have been locked out during the festival.

In a public letter, the chamber announced that they had “resolved to send back the financial sponsorship donation offered by BP Refinery.”

Pierogi Fest, a much-anticipated event, is set to take place in Whiting from July 24 to 26.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

In a gesture of community solidarity, the chamber is also arranging for donation boxes throughout the fest. The aim is to support over 800 BP employees who have been without wages since the lockout at BP’s Whiting refinery began in mid-March over contract negotiations.

Eric Schultz, who leads United Steelworkers Local 7-1, expressed appreciation: “Seeing the community rally behind us is genuinely heartening. We didn’t have to push the chamber for this outcome; it was a spontaneous decision that they felt was just and appropriate.”

The Pierogi Fest decision comes just days after the city of Hammond dropped BP as a sponsor of next week’s Festival of the Lakes.

Speaking on his “Left of Center” podcast, Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott discussed that decision.

“Personally, I didn’t realize we took the money, but we did apparently, and I was like, Scott, when I hear about it on Sunday, I’m like dude, you gotta refund that immediately,” McDermott said.

The union said it has been weeks since the two sides last met at the bargaining table. Union officials say the four-month lockout has placed increasing strain on workers and their families.

“Obviously the financial burden, people trying to find a couple of jobs to make ends meet or people moving out of state to find another job that’s comparable,” Schultz said.

Messages left by ABC7 for BP requesting comment were not returned Friday.

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes Join Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift at Former Chief’s Wedding

0

Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, enjoyed an evening out with friends Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, attending their second NFL wedding in just a week.

The couples came together to celebrate JuJu Smith-Schuster’s wedding. Smith-Schuster, a former Super Bowl champion alongside Kelce and Mahomes, married fitness coach Laura Kruk at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, California, on Friday.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, in their first public appearance since their lavish New York City wedding on July 3, drew quite the attention. Accompanying them were their good friends, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.

Although Patrick and Brittany have been married for four years and share three children, the couple exuded a newlywed aura akin to Kelce and Swift’s.

Throughout the event, Brittany and Patrick were often seen by the side of Kelce and Swift, standing prominently next to the Grammy-winning artist and the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end during the ceremony.

The foursome shared a laugh as they walked into the ceremony, the new husband and wife hand-in-hand behind the Mahomeses.

The couples were seated next to one another on the pristine lawn of the luxurious Ritz-Carlton hotel as they watched Smith-Schuster and Kruk exchange vows.

They collectively beamed and rose to their feet to toast the bride and groom as they were officially declared husband and wife.

Later, Brittany and the Shake It Off hitmaker appeared in deep conversation as they took a seat next to one another during the wedding breakfast.

The two women even color coordinated in varying shades of pink for the occasion. Brittany wowed in a $1,690 high-neck coral gown from Silvia Tcherassi that hugged the mother-of-three’s toned figure.

She accessorized with hot pink heels and a matching clutch, as well as a white fan, which she used to shelter her face from the searing California sun during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Swift looked elegant in a strapless pale pink brocade gown, pairing it with her signature red lip.

It came one week after Brittany and Mahomes had helped celebrate Kelce and Swift’s own wedding spectacular.

The signal caller and his longtime partner were among an estimated 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden as teammate and close friend Kelce tied the knot with Swift in an extravagant ceremony.

Mahomes and Brittany have become close couple friends with Travis and Taylor ever since they launched their romance in 2023.

They led a huge Chiefs contingent at the lavish wedding, along with the likes of owner Clark Hunt and his family, coach Andy Reid and virtually the entire roster of players.

Mahomes shared a series of photos to Instagram following the blockbuster bash in the Big Apple.

The first three photos, which were seemingly taken before Travis and Taylor’s big night, showed Brittany wearing a stunning light blue dress and a sparkling silver necklace, while Patrick is donning a slick tuxedo and shades.

The couple were seen embracing in one of the images, while one shows them in the back of a taxi, most likely on their way to MSG.

Two other photos in his New York dump captured him in a suave double-breasted suit, with Brittany opting for an elegant olive dress with gold shoes.

It is unclear when the group outing took place and whether the Mahomeses were at Travis and Taylor’s more intimate rehearsal dinner on Thursday evening.

After attending the wedding, they made a quick trip back to Kansas City on Saturday to celebrate the 4th of July at their family home.

Brittany shared photos and videos on her Instagram story of Patrick treating their children to a firework show in their back garden, just 24 hours after celebrating with their good friends in New York.

However, it was just a quick pitstop in Missouri before the couple made the journey over to California for Friday’s wedding.

Kelce and Mahomes are no longer teammates with Smith-Schuster, with the wide receiver recently leaving the Chiefs to sign for the New York Giants.

However, they appear to have remained close friends with Kelce even celebrating Smith-Schuster’s Giants signing on social media.

Smith-Schuster won a Super Bowl alongside Kelce, back at the end of the 2023 season when the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles, who had Jason Kelce on their team.

After that victory, Smith-Schuster briefly joined the New England Patriots and Kelce was unhappy with the Chiefs letting him leave.

Smith-Schuster only spent a season in New England before returning to the Chiefs.

Revitalize Your Hips: 5 Effective Standing Exercises for Strength Without the Gym at 60+

0

Keeping your hips strong and efficient mandates intentional and active training.

>

If boosting hip stability and strength is at the top of your workout priorities, your gym sessions might typically include hip extensions, hip thrusts, split squats, and deadlifts. However, to streamline your routine, consider incorporating five standing exercises designed to rebuild hip strength effectively, especially if you’re over 60.

“As we age, our hips tend to weaken, often due to prolonged sitting. This habit leads to ‘glute amnesia,’ where the glutes essentially shut down,” explains Jacob Siwicki, founder and lead trainer at Siwicki Fitness, with certifications from NCSF and AFAA. A renowned personal trainer ranked #1 in D.C. in 2021, and a former top-performing Equinox group instructor, Siwicki warns that casual walking or light cardio isn’t enough to combat this issue, as they don’t challenge the hips laterally or under significant strain. Hence, despite daily walks, one’s glutes can remain underworked without focused training in all directions.

In the following sections, fitness experts introduce five standing exercises that can enhance hip strength—all from the comfort of your home, gym-free.

Standing Hip Abductions

According to Marshall Weber, Certified Personal Trainer and Founder of Functional Idaho Gym, who has an educational background in Exercise Science and Psychology, this exercise helps strengthen the muscles that keep you balanced when you’re walking or standing on one leg.

  1. Begin by standing tall with your feet hip-width apart and hands on your hips.
  2. Activate your core and shift your weight onto your left leg.
  3. Keep your right leg straight and toes pointed forward as you lift it out to the side as high as you’re comfortably able to.
  4. Hold at the top for a moment before slowly lowering.

Sit-to-Stands

“Sit-to-stands are one of the best exercises to maintain independence because getting out of a chair comfortably is something people do every day,” Weber tells us.

  1. Begin by standing tall in front of a sturdy chair with your feet hip-width apart on the ground.
  2. Activate your core and keep your chest lifted.
  3. Bend at the knees and hips and lower slowly into a squat—as if you’re about to sit down. Make sure your weight stays in your heels.
  4. Lightly touch the surface of the chair with your glutes.
  5. Press through your heels to rise back up.

6 Morning Exercises That Restore Hip Strength Faster Than Floor Stretches After 55

Single-Leg Balance

This exercise helps you build coordination and stability while strengthening the hips, Weber points out.

  1. Balance on one leg, barefoot, on a flat, solid surface without using additional support.
  2. Keep your gaze forward and your arms crossed. The lifted leg should not touch your grounded leg.
  3. The time begins once your leg comes off the floor and stops when your foot touches the ground.
  4. Hold for the prescribed amount of time on each side.

5 Standing Exercises That Restore Hip Strength Faster Than Floor Stretches After 55

Lateral Band Walk

“Lateral band walks hit the side-glute that almost everybody is weak in,” Siwicki says.

  1. Begin by placing a resistance band around your ankles or thighs.
  2. Slightly bend your knees and step sideways, keeping your movement controlled.
  3. Repeat in the opposite direction.

5 Short Workouts That Keep You Stronger Than Most 30-Year-Olds After 50

Reverse Lunges

“Reverse lunges build the front and the power you use on stairs,” Siwicki says.

  1. To begin, stand with your feet hip-distance apart and arms at your sides. Maintain a tall chest.
  2. Step your left foot back a few feet, making sure to land on the ball of your foot.
  3. Lower into a lunge position until your front thigh is parallel to the ground and your back knee hovers just above the floor.
  4. Press through your front heel to rise back up to standing.

New Jersey Woman Charged with Child Sexual Assault and Allegedly Posting Video on Snapchat, Say Police

0

In a disturbing case unfolding in New Jersey, a woman has been accused of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13. According to court filings, she allegedly recorded the abuse and circulated at least one video on Snapchat.

Victoria Anne Cranmer, aged 25, was taken into custody on Tuesday. She faces several charges, including second-degree sexual assault, second-degree creation of child sexual abuse material, third-degree possession of such material, and third-degree child endangerment.

Officials assert that Cranmer recorded a 14-second video on May 6th in the bathroom of a Little Egg Harbor residence where she was supervising the child.

Following her arrest, Victoria Anne Cranmer, 25, was detained at the Ocean County Jail, charged with multiple offenses related to child sexual exploitation. (Ocean County Jail)

Investigators managed to identify Cranmer in the video thanks to several notable tattoos, including one on her leg portraying breasts, as reported by the media outlet.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, the investigation began May 20 after the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency referred the allegations to the Little Egg Harbor Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. Detectives later obtained search warrants for both a cellphone allegedly used by Cranmer and her Snapchat account, where investigators said they uncovered additional videos saved in Snapchat’s Memories feature.

According to the affidavit, the cellphone had been purchased for Cranmer by a former roommate as a birthday gift. After asking Cranmer to move out, the roommate requested she leave the phone behind. While reviewing its contents, the roommate allegedly discovered the recording, saved the video and later turned the device over to investigators, according to the affidavit.

Investigators also allege Cranmer was laughing while assaulting the child in the video, according to the court according to court documents cited by NJ.com.

At least one of the alleged recordings was shared on Snapchat, New Jersey 101.5 reported.

Cranmer was booked into the Ocean County Jail, where she is being held without bail.

News Media has reached out to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office for additional information and to determine whether Cranmer has legal representation.

Controversy Over Bias Claims Fuels Debate as Little Italy Fades from NYC Immigrant Map

0

Being a descendant of Italian heritage on both sides of my family, I find it disheartening to suspect our mayor may not hold Italy—or its people—in high regard.

Unsurprisingly, the same individual who once displayed contempt for a Columbus statue during his radical activism days has now introduced a controversial map of New York City. This map seemingly erases any representation of Italian communities, ignoring well-known areas like Arthur Avenue, Little Italy, and Staten Island.

I cannot pinpoint what exactly occupies Zohran Mamdani’s thoughts.

Perhaps he was never able to secure a reservation at the coveted Rao’s restaurant before his tenure as mayor, or maybe a disappointing slice of pizza led to this perspective.

Nonetheless, I believe the root of his indifference toward individuals like myself is more nuanced than mere ethnic bias.

It involves his broader worldview, something called cultural Marxism, which defines the Italian American experience here in New York and elsewhere as a lie.

More From Charles Gasparino

Yes I know, the Marxism usually associated with our mayor is of the economic variety: demonizing the rich, government-owned grocery stores, free buses, higher taxes to provide more welfare support to migrants here legally or illegally.

He boasts about replacing “the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.”

Go deeper into what makes Mamdani tick — his past musings about wealth, the radicals he’s appointed to various positions, his academic training in Africana Studies and his far-leftist, critical-theorist Columbia professor father, Mahmood Mamdani  — and you’ll understand that collectivism is only part of what animates our mayor.

He holds a worldview that divides Americans into tribes based not on Marx’s classic interpretation (which would be class), but on race.

Under the theory of cultural Marxism, all things are oppressor versus oppressed.

It ignores swaths of history in favor of grievance against Western civilization — the ultimate oppressor of the Third World, the historically oppressed.

Hence you have one mayoral appointee calling homeownership a “weapon of white supremacy” that the government should seize.

Another, his chief equity officer no less, mused on social media about her disdain for white liberal women (they apparently can’t overcome their whiteness) and how government should “tax these people to the white meat.”

The mayor’s wife apparently believed that the Oct. 7 massacre of innocent Israelis involved a “mass rape hoax.”

The mayor himself has never disavowed “globalize the intifada,” the rallying cry of cultural Marxism that aims at wiping Israel off the map.

How have Italians — particularly most Italian Americans, who descend from an economically backward area of Europe — or Jews — who have faced centuries of persecution — fallen afoul of this ideology?

For Jews it’s the success of Israel, both economically and in defending itself against decades of invasions and terrorism from the allegedly oppressed people the cultural Marxists say need defending.

For Italians, I think the lefty beef comes from a different place: anger that they never fell for the oppression narrative.

Most came here from the impoverished south of Italy, the Mezzogiorno region, around the turn of the last century.

They were offered no welfare (or Obamacare) and they weren’t considered “white” by the standards of the time.

Consider the background of Yankee great Yogi Berra, who grew up in the Italian enclave of St. Louis known as “Dago Hill.”

When his parents came to America, George Will wrote in Berra’s obituary, “an 1895 advertisement seeking labor to build a New York reservoir said whites would be paid $1.30 to $1.50 a day, ‘colored’ workers $1.25 to $1.40, and Italians $1.15 to $1.25.”

But they prospered nonetheless.

My grandfather and uncles helped build the city subway system.

Years later, my father gained entry to the very union that had denied membership to my grandfather because of the vowel at the end of our name.

My paternal grandfather grew up in the Italian-American ghetto known as East Harlem, my mom’s side in Little Italy, my parents in Bronx.

They were poor Italian neighborhoods that became working class (left off Mamdani’s map, of course) not just because of preference, but also because of redlining.

Yet we all became “Americans” — and were better off for it.

My father served in the Marines, went to trade school and saved to own a home.

I went to graduate school; my brother is an MD and PhD who runs a New York City hospital.

DEI didn’t aid our ascent.

If you rewrite that history of Italian-Americans, if you cleanse their story from the history books, you can start a whole new one from the ashes,

That’s what the cultural Marxists are aiming for. Don’t let them.
