NFL Star Travis Kelce’s Secret Legal Battle Unveiled Ahead of Wedding

0

While orchestrating an extravagant wedding at Madison Square Garden with Taylor Swift for an audience of 1,000 guests, Travis Kelce was simultaneously managing a confidential legal battle just before exchanging vows.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Kelce, along with Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, is entangled in a lawsuit in a New York federal court. The dispute revolves around their Kansas City eatery, 1587 Prime, being challenged by a sneaker company with a nearly identical brand name.

New developments reveal that Kelce and his legal team were vigorously defending against the lawsuit in the critical days preceding his high-profile marriage ceremony at MSG.

As reported by TMZ, Kelce and Mahomes contend that their minimal connections to New York should exempt them from being summoned to court there, given their football careers and restaurant operations are rooted in Kansas City.

1587 Sneakers, however, disputes this claim, maintaining that the duo’s regular presence in nationwide marketing endeavors justifies legal proceedings in New York City.

Kelce, of course, does now spend plenty of time with his new wife, who has a plush penthouse apartment in Tribeca.

The two Chiefs superstars – who are also best friends off the field – opened their 1587 steakhouse back in September 2025, and the name is a blend of their two NFL jersey numbers.

1587 Sneakers, meanwhile, is a Boston-based company that claim their name is a nod to the year Filipino sailors first arrived in America, according to TMZ’s reporting.

The company also claims it trademarked ‘1587’ before Kelce and Mahomes, and is requesting that the NFL pair no longer use the number sequence at their restaurant.

While it may not have been top of Travis’ agenda in recent weeks, it represents a significant issue for the multi-millionaire NFL star as he continues to build his global brand off the field.

The Chiefs tight end is now basking in the success of a remarkable celebration at Madison Square Garden on Friday night, after 1,000 of the couple’s nearest and dearest turned out for the ‘wedding of the century’.

The celebration, which closed off the streets around Midtown Manhattan, featured a who’s who of the A-list world, such as Bradley Cooper, Steven Spielberg and Jay-Z, with guests from Hollywood, the music industry, fashion and sports colliding.

Should celebrities like Travis Kelce be held responsible for trademark disputes tied to their business ventures?

There were also plenty of stars in the NFL who have befriended and faced off against Kelce over the years.

This includes many of his Chiefs teammates and coaches, led by Mahomes and his wife Brittany, who have become two of Travis and Taylor’s closest friends.

Also in attendance was Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who has been at the helm in Kansas City since 2013.

Two days after the wedding, Reid opened up on Adam Sandler’s words of advice to Travis and Taylor during the service as he helped the couple tie the knot.

‘Adam Sandler conducted the service there and he told them to “keep kissing,” in its simplest form. That’s a good thing,’ Reid told reporters on Sunday.

‘It’s hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss or your wife gives you a kiss… And make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to. Knock it out, and you won’t have any problems.’

Kelce landed a cameo role in Sandler’s Happy Gilmore sequel last year, while he also invited the comedian onto his and brother Jason’s New Heights podcast in 2024.

During that podcast appearance, Sandler left the Kelce brothers in stitches when he explained how much Swift means to his family.

He said: ‘You guys being together, I mean… when you guys first started dating, my god was my family like, “Yes! Look how good they are together, he’s a gentleman! And she’s having so much fun with him!” Like any time Taylor is laughing with you, my whole f***ing family is like high-fiving.’

Boost Hip Strength After 60 with These 4 Bed Exercises That Outperform Gym Machines

Experts outline the benefits that make exercising in bed particularly effective.

>

As people age, prioritizing hip strength becomes essential. Strong hips are crucial for stabilizing the pelvis, which supports mobility, balance, and daily activities. In addition to aiding in the protection of your back, well-conditioned hips can help prevent injuries. Conversely, weak hips might lead to pelvic misalignment, potentially increasing stress on both the lower back and knees, and this can result in a variety of health issues.

Whether you’re fond of walking, running, or hiking, or just managing everyday tasks, robust and stable hips are a must. To ensure these movements are part of your routine, we consulted with specialists who suggest four bed exercises that could enhance hip strength more efficiently than gym machines, especially for those over 60.

What sets bed workouts apart? Heather Baker, a physical therapist at Endeavor Health, believes that “Exercises done in bed offer a straightforward and safe method for engaging muscles and building strength at home. Given that the hip is a ball-and-socket joint, it has a wide range of motion. Therefore, strengthening it across various planes is vital for comprehensive joint support and facilitating movement within its full range.”

Certain exercises can pose a challenge for seniors whose balance might be affected by health conditions or injuries.

“The bed removes the balance requirement entirely. Underlying degenerative joint disease, or arthritis, can also make weight-bearing standing exercises intolerable and painful. Bed-based hip exercises can still create muscle activation, joint motion, and progressive loading without requiring standing balance or complicated equipment,” explains Dr. Natasha Trentacosta, MD FAAOS, Board-Certified Sports Medicine Physician and Orthopedic Surgeon at Cedars-Sinai.

Below are four stellar exercises to add to your rotation.

Glute Bridge

“The glute bridge is a beneficial exercise because it is weight bearing which is good for bone density. It also strengthens the muscle on the backside of the body which help to improve stability, balance and the ability to stand up and sit down out of a chair,” explains Baker.

  1. Begin by lying flat on your back with bent knees and feet hip-width apart on the mattress, arms at your sides with palms pressing into the surface.
  2. Press through your heels to lift your hips until your body forms a straight line from head to heels.
  3. Squeeze your buttocks, holding at the top for 3 to 5 seconds.
  4. Lower your hips back to the start position.
  5. Repeat 10 times, building up to 3 sets.

5 Short Workouts That Keep You Stronger Than Most 30-Year-Olds After 50

Clamshell

“The clamshell exercise targets the muscles on the back and side of the hip. These muscles are key for balance, knee health, and pelvic stability during walking,” Baker says.

  1. Lie on your side with your knees stacked and bent.
  2. Keep your feet together as you lift your top knee, like a clamshell opening.
  3. Pull your belly button inward as you contract your abs.
  4. Lower.
  5. Avoid rotating through your lower back.
  6. Repeat 10 times on each leg, working your way up to 3 sets of 10 reps.

5 Standing Exercises That Restore Hip Strength Faster Than Floor Stretches After 55

Straight-Leg Raise

“The straight-leg raise strengthens the lower abdominals and the muscles on the front of the hip and thigh. These muscles are imperative for advancing the leg during walking and climbing stairs,” Baker tells us.

  1. Start by lying flat on your back with your arms extended overhead and legs out straight.
  2. Activate your core as you lift one leg off the mattress, keeping it extended and your lower back pressed into the mat.
  3. Hold for a moment at the top.
  4. Use control to lower your leg.
  5. Repeat 10 times on each leg, working your way up to 3 sets of 10 reps.

6 Morning Exercises That Restore Hip Strength Faster Than Floor Stretches After 55

Side-Lying Hip Abduction

“The side-lying hip abduction exercise strengthens the muscle in the back and side of the hip. These muscles are important for stabilizing the hip, pelvis and knee and also help to maintain and improve balance,” Baker points out.

  1. Lie on your side with your bottom leg bent and the top leg straight.
  2. Keeping your leg elongated and aligned with your body, slowly lift it.
  3. Repeat 10 times on each leg, working your way up to 3 sets of 10 reps.

Why Some on the Left Are Reluctant to Support Team USA After Trump’s World Cup Influence

0

A wave of frustration has swept through certain circles on the American left, as they grapple with the resolution of a glaring controversy at the World Cup.

In last week’s Round of 32 clash, the US national team was stunned when their star forward, Folarin Balogun, received a red card after an opponent fell during an aggressive play from behind for possession of the ball.

This incident initially threatened to bench Balogun for the crucial knockout match against Belgium. However, in a turn of events on Sunday, FIFA postponed the enforcement of the striker’s suspension.

The ensuing discontent from the Belgian side appeared pitiable, and the backlash from some disillusioned Americans even more so.

Former Obama staffer, Tommy Vietor, expressed delight over Balogun’s return to play, but also voiced concerns that his reinstatement might fuel perceptions of tournament rigging across the globe.

Husband from hell and fifth-place primary finisher George Conway called the episode “revolting” and that it might “end up tarnishing the team.”

Richard Hanania deemed Bolgun’s reinstatement “a depressing sign of how far we’ve fallen,” comparing the Stars and Stripes to “a backwards, third world country.”

Trump’s ‘ask’

Meanwhile, actual third-worldists like Mehdi Hasan sided with Hanania, calling on Balogun to “refuse to play” in protest of the “unfair” development.

Some of the teeth-gnashing can be chalked up to a particularly nasty strain of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

By all reports, Trump called FIFA president Gianni Infantino to ask that the body give the matter a second look.

According to Axios’ Marc Caputo, though, Trump made no “specific ask” and was told the matter was being “independently reviewed.”

That’s irrelevant to the Trump haters: “Even FIFA is engaged in Trump crime family corruption,” former congressman Adam Kinzinger frothed.

It should come as no surprise that those who have allowed Trump’s existence to warp their minds beyond recognition are upset that he may have played some role in securing this remedial action.

But the irrational hysterics are the fruit of the destructive, distinctly anti-American worldview of the ascendant progressive left.

No pride

Balogun never deserved the punishment doled out to him by a single referee — and FIFA itself, long dogged by allegations of bribery and similar sleaziness, has made other exceptions to allow certain red-card recipients, including Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, to circumvent suspensions they were supposed to serve.

No worthwhile principle compels the functioning conscience to demand Balogun serve out the sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. Yet the Blame America First crowd is demanding exactly that.

Because for the self-assured moral relativist, true north is neither what is just, nor what is in their country’s best interest, but what is fashionable.

The question isn’t “What is right?” but, “What will my brunch mates think?”

And what they think is whatever Howard Zinn and John Oliver told them to.

That’s why they drooled over New York City Mayor Mamdani’s unpatriotic assault on the adoptive nation to which he owes so much on the occasion of its 250th birthday.

That’s why DNC Chairman Ken Martin compared the government of Iran, which massacred tens of thousands of its civilians in a matter of days earlier this year, to his own.

That’s why fewer and fewer Democrats feel any pride at all in being an American.

But to everyone outside of their privileged, conformist bubble, they appear only to be degrading themselves in service to an ignoble cause.

New Yorker Files Lawsuit Against ICE After Officers Visit Home Over Agency Criticism

0

In New York, a resident has initiated a lawsuit following an incident where officers arrived at his home to issue a warning after he had sent an email criticizing the leadership of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the agency’s methods in conducting immigration raids.

David Streever, a U.S. citizen residing in Rochester, filed the lawsuit on Monday in Washington, D.C. Against the Department of Homeland Security and ICE, the legal action claims that his First Amendment rights were infringed upon when he spoke out against the government. This information comes from a complaint reviewed by News Media.

Last month, while Streever was traveling in Finland with his 7-year-old daughter, two officers arrived at his residence and presented his wife with a warning notice. The notice referred to an email he had sent months earlier being perceived as a threat.

In January, Streever had penned an email directed to Todd Lyons, then acting director of ICE, expressing concerns after an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Good, a U.S. citizen, during an immigration raid in Minneapolis.

In the email, Streever told Lyons he was “a monstrous human being” who “will never know peace” and will “go down in history as America’s Reinhard Heydrich, the butcher,” a reference to a Nazi leader.

“The way you are protecting the obvious execution in Minnesota, even as we see the videos, will lead to your downfall. Even Trump will turn on you before the end, and you will be a sad, despised man who eats himself alive with shame at your own pathetic weakness,” Streever said in the email, according to the complaint.

“You will seek to lose yourself, to escape the burden of knowing the truth about yourself. But wherever you go, you will find yourself. You will torment yourself until your last day on Earth,” the email added.

When officers arrived at his home, Streever’s wife answered the door and was handed a “warning notice” explaining that her husband “may be in violation of federal law” for sending his email to ICE’s former acting director.

The notice, reviewed by News Media, urges Streever to “promptly remove and/or discontinue” his “behavior,” warning that the notice will be “taken into consideration” if he continues to be involved” in “criminal activities.”

Streever’s wife told the officers he was out of the country but would return to Rochester later that week, according to the lawsuit. But federal officers did not wait and instead attempted to confront him at a New York City hotel after he returned from Finland, although they were turned away by hotel staff.

That same night, officers repeatedly called Streever’s phone, leaving voicemails identifying themselves only as Homeland Security Investigations.

On their train ride home, Streever told his daughter about the possibility that federal officers might confront him, and the young girl broke down in tears, fearing for her father’s safety.

Adam Steinbaugh, an attorney with the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression who is representing Streever, argued the email was protected speech under the First Amendment and does not represent a legitimate threat.

“If someone is really threatening a government official, you don’t wait five months to act on it,” Steinbaugh said in a statement. “The fact that authorities didn’t respond immediately shows that David presented no threat. This pursuit is designed to intimidate lawful speech, pure and simple.”

Streever said he was shocked that federal officers came to his home to question him over his email.

“I cherish our right to speak openly about issues of public concern,” Streever said. “I hope others will not be discouraged from peacefully expressing their views, even when those views are critical of the government.”

“Like many Americans, I was deeply upset after the shootings in Minnesota and I felt compelled to do something,” Streever said in an earlier statement. “Writing an email to the head of ICE seemed like the least I could do to express my sense of outrage. I never dreamed it would lead to a knock on my door by federal officers or descending on my hotel in the dark of night.”

News Media reached out to DHS and ICE for comment.

The lawsuit also names Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, whose office released a statement claiming, “Any allegation DHS and its components are attempting to ‘squash’ free speech is categorically FALSE,” according to the Associated Press.

The complaint asks the court to order DHS and ICE officials to stop its “coercion and retaliation” against Streever for his protected speech.

The warning to Streever was presented the same week poll worker Paigelynne Gonyea, of Syracuse, said two federal officers confronted her at a voting site during New York’s primaries to question her about a social media post she made about Jonathan Ross, the ICE officer who killed Good.

Gonyea said she believes the warning to her was because of a post she made in January in which she shared a picture of Ross along with the caption: “I think today is a great day for Jonathan to be indicted.”

Her post was made after Ross had already been identified by the media.

A spokesperson for DHS, Lauren Bis, shared an image of a different social media post from Gonyea in which she said the woman shared Ross’ address, according to the Associated Press, although part of the post was redacted.

Bis said in a statement last week that Gonyea “committed a federal crime by posting the address of an ICE law enforcement officer online” and “if you doxx our officers, we will investigate you, and you will be brought to justice.”

Anthony Hopkins Stuns Fans with Remarkable New Look at 88

Anthony Hopkins is legendary for transforming himself for roles, but he was virtually unrecognizable in a photo posted to Instagram on Sunday.

At 88, the double Oscar winner was gearing up to cheer for England as they faced off against Mexico in the World Cup. Accompanied by his wife, Stella Arroyave, who is 70, he posed for a photo, sporting an expression that suggested he was in a lighthearted competitive spirit.

It was clear which team he supported, as he donned the 2026 England jersey. Meanwhile, Arroyave, a native of Colombia, displayed her loyalty by wearing Mexico’s distinctive green jersey.

The image was captioned with the words, ‘We’re all winners… #WorldCup2026.’

Hopkins continues to keep a busy schedule with seven projects in various stages of post-production or pre-production, according to information on IMDb.

Recently marking 48 years of sobriety, Hopkins remains most celebrated for his haunting portrayal of Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the 1991 film “Silence of the Lambs,” a performance that earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor.

He revisited the cannibalistic serial killer and former forensic psychiatrist in the sequel Hannibal (2001) and the prequel Red Dragon (2002), which doubled as a remake of Michael Mann’s classic serial-killer thriller Manhunter (1986), in which Succession star Brian Cox played a very different version of Lecter years earlier.

As Stevens in The Remains of the Day (1993), Hopkins delivered an acclaimed performance as the repressed and devoted butler who gives up personal happiness and love to serve his employer, Lord Darlington.

The film also starred Emma Thompson as the estate’s housekeeper, Miss Kenton, whose affections Hopkins’s character couldn’t return until it was too late.

Hopkins won a second Oscar for Best Actor in 2021 for his role in The Father, which costarred Olivia Colman.

He remains active on social media as well, regularly posting updates about his artwork, piano playing, dance moves and culinary creations, or sometimes just cheerful greetings to his fans.

The latest post of him wearing an England shirt caused some debate in the comments, especially given his Welsh roots.

Born in Port Talbot, Wales, Hopkins has expressed nostalgia for his Welsh heritage over the years and continues to support Welsh causes.

‘Take that shirt off Sir… you’re Welsh!’ one fan wrote, while another commented: ‘Olympus has fallen.’

Should stars stay loyal to their roots or is it fine for celebrities to support teams beyond their homeland?

‘Anthony Hopkins is Welsh, not English,’ a third ventured to say.

‘What are you doing????? You are Welsh,’ another pointed out.

Others defended the actor, saying he was merely enjoying the sport as millions of others were doing around the globe.

England eventually beat Mexico 3–2 to reach the World Cup quarter-finals.

Taylor Swift’s Wedding Documentary: Separating Fact from Speculation

If this were a film, it would be an exclusive feature for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

In the days leading up to the couple’s July 3 wedding, observant onlookers spotted filming notices outside Madison Square Garden. This sparked speculation among fans about the possibility of the Grammy-winning artist debuting a cinematic version of her special day.

However, insiders have confirmed to E! News that there were no plans to document the wedding for a film.

Nevertheless, Swift and Kelce might still give fans a glimpse into their nuptials if they choose to share any personal photos or videos on social media, possibly captioned with something like “JUST&T MARRIED.”

Currently, some insights into their wedding have surfaced through footage obtained by the Daily Mail. It reveals how the “Fortnight” singer and the Kansas City Chiefs star transformed the iconic New York venue into a space befitting their new romantic journey.

Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon Share Sweet Moments from Taylor Swift’s Wedding on Instagram

Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon have taken their relationship public on Instagram, sharing heartwarming photos from their evening out at Taylor Swift’s celebrity-filled New York City wedding to Travis Kelce.

The duo, who have been an item since 2022, appeared cozy in a set of stylish, matching black ensembles before making their way to Madison Square Garden on Friday. The images were posted by hairstylist Laurie Zanoletti on Instagram on Monday.

Sixty-two-year-old Pitt stepped out in a classic suit paired with a bow tie, finishing his look with sleek black sunglasses and hair neatly swept to the side.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old de Ramon dazzled in a fitted lace dress complemented by elegant teardrop earrings. Her chic high ponytail added the perfect touch to her glamorous outfit.

Their stunning hairdos were crafted by Zanoletti, while George Cortina curated their sophisticated attire, and Charlie Riddle was in charge of their makeup.

“My favorite lovers @inesdrmn & Brad Pitt for an incredible moment in nyc🤍🥹,” Zanoletti captioned the post.

De Ramon notably reshared the photos on her story; she has not shared photos of Pitt on her feed to date. She set the snaps to Swift’s single ”Lover” and added a red heart emoji, following it with Swift’s “Delicate.”

Although the couple has several years’ history under their belts and seems incredibly solid, marriage apparently isn’t on the table for them.

“Ines is incredibly close with Brad’s family. They absolutely adore her and she’s been welcomed with open arms from the beginning,” a source exclusively told Page Six. “At this point they basically consider her family and one of their own.”

“But Brad has no plans on getting married despite how close Ines has become with everyone.”

The “Moneyball” star finalized his long-running divorce from Angelina Jolie, 51, in December 2024, bringing an end to more than eight years of legal proceedings. Jolie filed to dissolve their marriage in September 2016.

The former couple share six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17.

De Ramon quietly tied the knot in 2019 with “Vampire Diaries” actor Paul Wesley, but after more than three years of marriage, the couple split in 2022.

Tragic Loss of Young Aussie Rules Player Ignites Urgent Pitch Safety Reforms

0

A young athlete’s tragic passing, following an on-field accident, has ignited a wider discussion concerning the hazards of tackles on cricket pitches at local venues.

Nathan Fitzgerald, aged 27, sustained severe head trauma during an Australian rules football match at Lalor Recreation Reserve, located in the northern part of Melbourne.

He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on Monday night.

While playing for the Epping Football Netball Club, Fitzgerald collided head-first with a fellow player in an attempt to tackle an opponent on Saturday.

This initial collision was compounded by subsequent impacts, including a knee or boot striking his head, and finally, he was driven head-first onto a covered cricket pitch.

The pitch sits in the centre of the oval and is covered with a multi-layered synthetic surface when football games are played.

Local players were aware the cricket pitch was harder and less forgiving than the surrounding surface, Epping club president Luke De Vincentis said.

“Everyone always makes comments about not wanting to get tackled on the cricket pitch,” he told the Australian Associated Press.

He could not recall any serious injuries arising from contact with the surface but said cuts, grazes and rolled ankles were common.

While covered cricket pitches were features of ovals across the nation, De Vincentis hoped the incident would encourage a rethink.

“It’s probably been an accident waiting to happen,” he said.

“I really hope there is quite a bit more exploration to how cricket pitches are covered and understanding that that synthetic strip of turf just probably isn’t enough any more.”

The City of Whittlesea, which manages the reserve, said the pitch covering met the relevant safety standards and it was commonly used.

“The synthetic cricket wicket at Lalor Recreation Reserve was covered with a purpose-designed, multi-layered synthetic surface in accordance with applicable AFL/Cricket Australia performance standards for shared-use sporting grounds,” a spokesperson said.

“Covered cricket wicket systems of this type are commonly used on shared-use sporting grounds across Australia.”

Emergency services treated Fitzgerald at the scene after medical specialists and players rushed to his aid.

De Vincentis praised their efforts, adding the young player’s condition might have deteriorated sooner had he not been treated immediately.

“Emergency services have told us that if it wasn’t for their work, there was every chance he could have died on the spot,” he said.

“They were fantastic in dealing with a situation that not many football trainers would have had to have ever dealt with in the history of our game.”

The incident rocked the sporting club, which came together on Saturday night and again on Sunday.

“There were 120-odd people at the club yesterday, just being together and rallying around each other,” he said.

Counselling services were made available, and conversations had begun about a memorial.

Local junior Jax Collins, who attended the reserve wearing a jersey in honour of Fitzgerald, spoke of his anguish.

“I felt pretty upset,” he said. “No one really wants that to happen to someone when they’re playing footy.”

Fitzgerald was remembered as kind, upbeat and softly spoken.

“But he was tenacious and courageous as anything on the field,” De Vincentis said.

Fitzgerald worked at Mernda Central College, where he taught maths and science.

Support would be made available for the school community, a Department of Education spokesperson said.

“Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues of Nathan Fitzgerald at this very difficult time.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo Shares Heartfelt Tribute Video Honoring Milwaukee Bucks

0

Devoted followers of the Bucks might find themselves reaching for a tissue.

On Monday, it was confirmed that Giannis Antetokounmpo, also known as the Greek Freak, has been traded to the Miami Heat. In the wake of this news, he shared a heartfelt video across his social media platforms, extending his gratitude to the Bucks and declaring his affection for the city of Milwaukee.

In the video, Antetokounmpo noted, “I hope the championship trophy we brought to this city holds significance for its residents, as it did for me.” He further emphasized, “I want you to hear it directly from me: Milwaukee will always occupy a special place in my heart. It’s truly my home.”

He went on to say, “Regardless of where life takes me, Milwaukee will forever remain my city, my team, my family.”

The trade deal saw Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis going to the Heat on June 22, with the Bucks acquiring Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakučionis, and the 13th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, Nate Ament.

Antetokounmpo accomplished everything to his NBA resume in the green and white.

Two MVPs. An NBA title and Finals MVP in 2021. Ten All-Star selections. Seven All-NBA First Team selections.

Despite missing the playoffs in his final season with the team, he cemented his legacy as one of greatest Bucks ever.

“I believe the city of Milwaukee is blue collar,” Antetokounmpo said. “It’s people that work extremely hard every single day, and give all their hard-earned money to come watch the Milwaukee Bucks. To come and feel something, to come be a part of us.

“I hope that I was able to represent them the best that I could. And I was like them. I showed up to work. Did everything that I was willing to do, all the dirty work, just like them.”

With the trade, it’s clear the Bucks are ushering in a youth movement.

But at the same time, Bucks general manager Jon Horst remained eternally grateful for the stability Antetokounmpo brought the organization.

“Since we drafted him in 2013, Giannis had transformed the Milwaukee Bucks in every way – on the court, in our locker room and throughout the community,” Horst wrote in a statement to Bucks fans. “Over 13 seasons, he became an extraordinary leader, teammate and representative of this city, and one of the defining players of his generation.”

“The standard he set will continue here.”

Open Heaven 7 July 2026 TOPIC – His Refining Process

MEMORISE: Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him. – Psalm 105:18-19 (KJV)

READ: Exodus 13:17-18 (KJV)

17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Proverbs 24-26

Open Heaven 7 July 2026 MESSAGE

In His wisdom, God often takes His children through different paths on their journey to greatness. He uses each step to refine their character and to separate them from anything that could hinder or destroy them after attaining greatness. For example, before Joseph became great, God took him through a pit, Potiphar’s house, and prison, so as to build his character in preparation for the role of a ruler in Egypt. Today’s memory verse says that he was laid in irons until God’s word came. God’s word tried him as gold is tried in fire until he was certified fit for greatness. David also had to go through God’s process on his way to becoming a king. His path to becoming a king was marked by numerous challenges, including a period of exile in the wilderness.

The path to greatness is often paved with many challenges. The process of attaining true greatness is never easy, but it is always worth it. Apostle Paul described the process as ‘our light affliction’ in 2 Corinthians 4:17. However, no matter how tough the process gets, it is nothing compared to the far exceeding and eternal weight of glory that God has prepared for us.

People who want to become great without going through God’s process do not usually last if they eventually become great. Like King Saul, they often end up losing their place because of habits and weaknesses that should have been addressed. Those who choose to follow God’s process, however, always emerge purified like precious gold. They become men and women whom God can trust with great resources and other people. Even our Lord Jesus Christ followed God’s process, and when the time came for Him to fulfil God’s assignment, He was baptised, and God’s Spirit came upon Him (Matthew 3:16-17). He didn’t start performing miracles the moment He was born, because God never raises a fellow without first ‘trying’ and preparing him or her.

As we see in today’s Bible reading, God guided the Israelites through His process by making them take a longer route on their journey to the Promised Land. He didn’t want them to run back to Egypt at the first hint of war; He wanted to help them become a strong and resilient nation. Beloved, is God currently taking you through a refining process that you find difficult? I implore you to endure the process, as it is part of His plan in preparing you for true and lasting greatness.

Open Heaven 7 July 2026 PRAYER POINT

Lord, please help me to go through Your refining process successfully.

Open Heaven 7 July 2026 HYMN 30 – When We Walk With The Lord

1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
and the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
[Refrain]

3 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
