Discover the Boston Blue Cast Shakeup: Who’s In and Who’s Out?

Donnie Wahlberg‘s series Boston Blue is all set for its sophomore season, but who will be back on screen following significant casting changes?

Before Boston Blue, fans were captivated by Blue Bloods, which chronicled the Reagan family’s life, deeply entrenched in the NYPD. At the helm was NYC police commissioner Frank Reagan, portrayed by Tom Selleck. Central to the story were also Frank’s father, Henry Reagan (Len Cariou), and his children: Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan), Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes).

The series ran successfully from 2010 until 2024, paving the way for a new chapter with a spinoff. In this new narrative, Wahlberg’s character transitions from the NYPD to a role with the Boston P.D., where he partners with detective Lena (Sonequa Martin-Green), who hails from a prestigious law enforcement lineage.

Although the core of Boston Blue remains intact, it underwent some casting shifts, notably welcoming Mika Amonsen to the role of Sean, originally played by Andrew Terraciano. The show quickly became a hit, prompting CBS to renew it after it shattered network records.

The NASCAR community gathered at the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, where Kyle Busch’s family was visibly emotional during a poignant moment of silence for the NASCAR driver who had recently passed away due to severe pneumonia.

Present at Charlotte Motor Speedway were Busch’s wife, Samantha, along with their children, 11-year-old Braxton and 4-year-old Lennix.

The emotional tribute unfolded as Samantha and Braxton stood in the paddock, deeply moved by the solemnity of the occasion.

As the mournful sound of bagpipes filled the air, Samantha cradled Lennix in her arms.

This heart-wrenching moment occurred just three days after Busch’s unexpected death at 41, marking the family’s first public appearance since the tragic loss.

Bystander Seriously Injured in Shooting Incident Near White House Checkpoint

0

A bystander remains in serious yet stable condition after being hit by gunfire when U.S. Secret Service officers responded to a shooting outside the White House. The incident resulted in the fatal shooting of the assailant by authorities.

The Secret Service confirmed that the bystander, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained a gunshot wound. Although the injury is not life-threatening, the exact circumstances of how the bystander was hit remain unclear.

Details about the shooting, which occurred early Saturday evening, are sparse. The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia reported that 21-year-old Nasire Best from Dundalk, Maryland, initiated the gunfire toward a White House security checkpoint. In response, Secret Service officers opened fire, leading to Best being pronounced dead at a local hospital.

At the time of the incident, President Donald Trump was inside the White House.

This marks the third shooting incident near the President within a month. The previous occurrences included an armed man disrupting the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in April and another incident earlier this month where a man was shot and wounded by the Secret Service after firing at them near the Washington Monument.

In a Truth Social post, Trump said the suspect in Saturday’s shooting had a “possible obsession with our Country’s most cherished structure.” He also used the shooting to promote the ballroom he is seeking to build on the site of the White House’s former East Wing, saying the shooting “goes to show how important it is, for all future Presidents, to get, what will be, the most safe and secure space of its kind ever built in Washington, D.C.” Trump is asking Congress for $1 billion for security additions for the White House campus, including the ballroom.

Best had a previous run-in with law enforcement near the White House, according to District of Columbia court records. He was arrested last July for attempting to enter White House grounds near a different checkpoint. He failed to heed officers’ commands to stop, claimed to be Jesus Christ and said he wanted to be arrested.

Best was a track and field athlete at Dundalk High School, from which he graduated in 2023.

A woman who identified herself as Best’s mother told The Washington Post that she learned about the shooting on social media and was in disbelief. She said her son “was never violent, regardless of what people are posting.”

World-Record Diver Tragically Dies at 900 Feet Depth

0

Australian diver Dave Shaw embarked on what he believed would be a heroic mission to recover a body from the depths of South Africa’s deepest freshwater cave, descending to 900 feet in Bushman’s Hole. However, the mission turned tragic as the abyss claimed his life, a tragedy experts suggest was preventable.

The story began in October 2004 when Shaw, a pilot and renowned cave explorer, set a world record for the deepest dive using a rebreather. This device allows divers to recycle exhaled air for longer underwater expeditions. His record-breaking dive took place at the same South African location where he would later meet his fate.

Beneath the entrance to the ominous Bushman’s Hole lies a cavern that plunges to depths of at least 927 feet, nearly matching the height of the Eiffel Tower.

During his exploration of the cavern floor, Shaw found himself in eerily calm waters, illuminated only by the beam of his flashlight and the line of rope he followed. It was then that he encountered something chilling.

As Shaw explored the floor of the cavern, the water around him was still and serene apart from the beam of his torch and the rope trailing behind him. Then he made a chilling discovery.

Lying on the cave floor was the body of Deon Dreyer, a young diver who had disappeared there a decade earlier.

All that was left of his hands and head was a skeleton but his mask had somehow remained in place.

Shaw tried to free Dreyer’s decomposed body from the sediment but failed before abandoning the rescue mission.

Shaw's support diver Don Shirley wrote a chilling message to signal to the surface team that the Australian had not survived the mission

Shaw’s support diver Don Shirley wrote a chilling message to signal to the surface team that the Australian had not survived the mission

But this only made him more determined to train and complete the mission because leaving a fellow diver behind is seen as unacceptable in the community.

After a year of preparation, Shaw descended into Bushman’s Hole again on January 8, 2005 for what would become the 333rd and final dive of his life.

Shaw and his support diver Don Shirley had gone to extreme lengths to minimise the risk, planning to take 35 backup cylinders of gas into the water – enough to survive a total rebreather failure.

A rope-and-sling system was rigged to haul injured divers up the cliffside to a mobile police recompression chamber.

For medical backup, Shirley recruited Dr Jack Meintjes, a diving physiology expert from the University of Stellenbosch.

‘Dave felt very connected with Deon,’ Shirley said. ‘He had found him, so it was like a personal thing that he should bring him back.’

A 6.13am, Shaw began his dive into the depths of the cave. He reached the bottom in just 11 minutes.

Some 13 minutes into the dive, Shirley started his descent to the 725ft mark, where he was scheduled to meet Shaw and help bring Dreyer’s body up.

The plan was for divers positioned at progressively shallower depths to pass the body upward while deeper divers began their ascents and completed decompression stops.

But as Shirley passed 500ft he realised something was terribly wrong as he say that Shaw’s torch was completely motionless below him.

The support diver attempted to descend further to help but encountered technical problems at around 800ft.

He then wrote a chilling message on his slate – a waterproof writing surface which allows divers to communicate – to signal to the surface team that Shaw had not survived the deep dive. It read: ‘Dave not coming back.’

The crew later discovered that as Shaw struggled to place Dreyer’s remains into a bag, he found that the body had transformed into a soap-like substance over the years underwater.

This made the remains far harder to control and secure as they began floating away.

Bodycam footage showed Shaw drop his torch while struggling with the recovery bag, leaving the light drifting away.

When he tried to untangle the light from the bag’s ropes, he became snagged on the main guide line leading to the surface.

The mistake proved catastrophic, as Shaw began panicking, breathing faster and rapidly consuming his air supply until he drowned beside Dreyer’s remains.

After the incident, Shirley said he regretted not attending a practice dive during which Shaw had mentioned that he sometimes placed his torch off to one side.

Shirley said even highly experienced divers should never allow equipment to float loose underwater, calling it ‘a recipe for disaster’.

The tragedy that claimed Dreyer’s life, and ultimately Shaw’s, had begun more than ten years earlier.

Dreyer was a passionate young diver from Vereeniging in South Africa who had already completed 200 excursions by the age of 20.

In December 1994, Dreyer joined a  team led by Nuno Gomes, the future record-holder for the deepest dive at Bushman’s Hole.

On December 17, during a practice run for an upcoming deep technical dive, Dreyer vanished.

As Shaw struggled to place Dreyer's remains into a bag, he discovered the body had transformed into a soap-like substance over the years underwater

As Shaw struggled to place Dreyer’s remains into a bag, he discovered the body had transformed into a soap-like substance over the years underwater

He became separated from his group at a depth of roughly 160ft while making his ascent.

Exactly what happened remains unknown, although some theories suggested he passed out due to oxygen toxicity or hypercapnia.

Several attempts were made to recover his body in the aftermath of the accident.

To assist the recovery effort, Dreyer’s father contacted the De Beers mining company.

The firm sent a remotely operated submersible into the underwater cave, which successfully located Dreyer’s diving helmet but discovered no signs of his body.

Recognising the difficulty of the situation, his family eventually accepted that he would likely never be found.

They later placed a memorial plaque near the entrance of Bushman’s Hole to honour his memory.

‘He had the most majestic grave in the country,’ Dreyer’s father said. ‘And I said, “Well, this will be his final resting place.”‘

Against all odds, Shaw and Dreyer’s bodies were ultimately recovered thanks to a heroic recovery mission carried out by two of the Australian’s friends.

Today, the haunting details of Shaw’s final dive have eerie similarities to a devastating recent cave diving incident in the Maldives.

Five divers died earlier this month while exploring the Thinwana Kandu cave system, also known as Shark Cave.

The group, all from Italy, set off to explore caverns in the Vaavu Atoll on May 14, but never resurfaced.

Authorities are investigating whether the group may have been pulled deeper into the cave by a powerful current known as the ‘Venturi effect’.

According to Alfonso Bolognini, president of the Italian Society of Underwater and Hyperbaric Medicine, the phenomenon occurs when flowing water is forced through a narrow choke point, increasing its speed and creating suction powerful enough to drag divers inward.

Now, a team of expert divers from Finland, who recovered the bodies this week, has suggested the group may have taken the wrong tunnel on their way out of an underwater cave.

The group, working for Dan Europe – a medical and research organisation dedicated to the health and safety of scuba divers – found the Italians in a corridor with a dead end inside the cave complex, newspaper La Repubblica reported.

‘There was no way out from there,’ the company’s CEO, Laura Marroni, was quoted as saying.

The group of five included Monica Montefalcone, a marine biology professor with many years of experience; her daughter, Giorgia Sommacal; two young researchers, Federico Gualtieri and Muriel Oddenino; and their Maldives-based guide, Gianluca Benedetti.

Investigators are also looking into whether the divers may have become disoriented due to bad weather and poor visibility on the day of the incident.

The divers were carrying 12-litre oxygen tanks, while Montefalcone was wearing a short diving suit – both unsuitable for the depths at which they were operating.

The victims were experienced divers, but the equipment used appeared to be standard recreational gear that was unsuited for deep cave excursions.

The body of boat captain Benedetti was the first to be found, while the remains of Montefalcone and university researcher Gualtieri were recovered on Tuesday.

The bodies of the final two victims, Sommacal and Oddenino, were recovered on Wednesday by Finnish divers, bringing rescue efforts to an end.

Benedetti was discovered at the mouth of the cave, while the other four victims were located ‘pretty much together’ inside the cavern’s third and final chamber.

Revelation of Covert Plan: Trump Extends Private Offer to Sway Rebel Democrat John Fetterman

0

As the midterm elections approach, Democrats are poised as strong contenders to reclaim the House, while prospects for winning the Senate are improving steadily.

However, if the political landscape shifts unfavorably for Republicans, they may have a strategic move in mind: persuading John Fetterman to switch sides.

Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, has often challenged his party’s stance during the Trump administration, positioning himself as a potential key player for Republicans.

According to a recent report from Politico, former President Donald Trump is keen on Fetterman changing his political allegiance, with Fox News Host Sean Hannity acting as an intermediary.

Hannity reportedly relayed Trump’s message to Fetterman, stating, “Your mission is to run as a Republican, and you’ll receive our complete backing, more financial support than you ever imagined, and a significant victory.”

Fetterman is close friends with fellow Pennsylvania senator Dave McCormick and his wife, Dina Powell McCormick, a former Trump NSC adviser who now serves as a vice president at Meta. Recent polling shows him performing better with Republicans than with his own party – and even ahead of McCormick.

He also gets along well with Alabama Republican Senator Katie Britt, who came to the Senate the same year as Fetterman, and is even in a group chat that includes her former Alabama football player husband, Wesley.

Fetterman himself, however, told Politico last Friday, ‘I’m not changing,’ rejecting the idea of either becoming a Republican or becoming an independent. ‘I’m a Democrat, and I’m staying one,’ Fetterman also shared, per Politico.

Fetterman also told Politico, ‘I’d be a shitty Republican,’ pointing to how the party has tossed aside the likes of Bill Cassidy and Thom Tillis, who have stood up to Trump’s whims.

Fetterman has been a rare Democrat vote on key elements of the Trump agenda, including voting to approve the budget for the Department of Homeland Security, and earlier in Trump’s second term, voting to approve the nomination of the administration’s Attorney General, Pam Bondi.

Senator Fetterman, who has become a staple on Fox News, has been unabashed in his disdain for members of his party, especially on the far left.

Speaking to the Daily Mail last week, Fetterman argued that Democrats must ‘drop the TDS’ and back President Trump’s proposed White House ballroom – remarks that came days after the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which he attended.

‘The leader of the Democratic party is TDS,’ the Pennsylvania Democrat said, referring to ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’, the term coined by Trump supporters to describe what they see as an irrational, obsessive opposition to the President.

‘Our nation needs and deserves this [ballroom],’ he added.

Despite the persistent critiques of his own party, Fetterman appears to have no public plans to leave its ranks.

Heroic Marine Veteran and Boston Firefighter Tragically Dies in Courageous House Fire Rescue

A seasoned firefighter from Boston, who also served as a Marine Corps veteran, tragically lost his life while fighting a three-alarm blaze in Dorchester, according to city officials on Sunday.

Robert “Bobby” Kilduff Jr., who dedicated 24 years to the Boston Fire Department and was a valued member of Rescue 2, passed away after responding to the fire on Saturday night at Treadway Road.

“Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the family of Robert T. Kilduff, who was tragically killed in the line of duty tonight at a three-alarm fire on Treadway Road,” stated the Boston Fire Department in a heartfelt message shared on social media.

Mayor Michelle Wu hailed Kilduff as a hero, noting that thanks to the courageous efforts of the firefighters at the scene, all residents were able to escape the fire safely.

Gov. Maura Healey ordered flags at state buildings across Massachusetts lowered to half-staff in Kilduff’s honor.

“Heartbroken by the loss of Boston firefighter Bobby Kilduff Jr., who gave his life while battling a fire in Dorchester,” Healey wrote on X. “As a Marine and third-generation firefighter, Bobby dedicated his life to protecting others.

“Countless people are alive today because of his courage and service — including the five residents who made it out of that building safely.

“Keeping his family and the entire Boston Fire Department in my prayers,” she added.

The fire displaced five people and spread through all three floors of the home before burning through the roof, according to FOX 25. Officials said the cause remains under investigation.

Unveiling the Hidden Obstacle Threatening Global Peace Efforts

0

The United States and Iran appear to be gradually moving towards a significant peace agreement that could transform the current ceasefire, which halted weeks of conflict, into a more enduring resolution.

Both nations are discussing the creation of a “memorandum of understanding,” aimed at establishing a comprehensive plan to address all unresolved issues. However, the specifics of this agreement remain under wraps.

A crucial and potentially contentious point in these negotiations is the control over the Strait of Hormuz.

Over the weekend, former President Donald Trump suggested in a social media post that the memorandum would lead to the reopening of this vital maritime passage.

However, numerous Iranian media sources have since countered this claim, asserting that the strait would continue to be under Iranian jurisdiction.

Iran is demanding that the US blockade on its ports be lifted at the same time, but in a social media post on Sunday, Trump said: “The Blockade will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed,” apparently referencing a final accord rather than the memorandum.

The Iranian regime has insisted the Strait of Hormuz should not come under American influence or control.

“The Strait of Hormuz has nothing to do with America. This is an issue between us and the coastal countries,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismaeil Baghaei said.

FBI Probe: Hasan Piker and Medea Benjamin Under Scrutiny for Cuba Aid Convoy Involvement

0

Federal investigators have issued subpoenas to prominent left-wing influencer Hasan Piker and Medea Benjamin, co-founder of CodePink, as part of an investigation into aid convoy trips to Cuba conducted earlier this year, according to recent reports.

Both Piker, 34, and Benjamin, 73, are among over 40 Americans being scrutinized by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. The investigation seeks to determine if the March aid mission to Havana breached U.S. sanctions by facilitating, coordinating, or delivering goods to Cuba, as reported by Fox News.

The initiative, known as the “Nuestra America Convoy,” delivered roughly 20 tons of humanitarian supplies to the economically challenged Caribbean nation. Following the trip, Piker, a well-known streamer and democratic socialist, expressed support for the Cuban government.

According to Fox, the subpoenas demand that Piker and Benjamin provide detailed financial, logistical, and communication records related to their Cuban expedition.

Under the Cuban Asset Control Regulations in the United States, citizens are restricted from engaging in unlicensed travel-related transactions and from exporting goods or services to Cuba.

The law, however, presents limited exceptions for humanitarian projects, journalism, educational programs and certain activities meant to support the people of Cuba.

CodePink, an anti-war feminist group, helped organize the convoy to Cuba as a means to provide humanitarian aid to the country following the Trump administration’s move to blockade the island last year.

The group said its members have yet to be served subpoenas, claiming it followed all the rules during the humanitarian trip to Havana.

“We did nothing wrong during our March 2026 trip to Cuba,” the group said in a statement. “On the contrary, we acted as moral US citizens trying to bring some relief to a population being deliberately starved by the cruel policies of our own government.”

Benjamin has also come under fire over her alleged ties to Hamas and Iran. She has made at least seven trips to Gaza between 2009 and 2012 where she met with Hamas officials, including the group’s then-leader Ismail Haniyeh, publicly posted photos show.

The activist slammed the Treasury’s subpoena as an attack on her group’s humanitarian work.

“The Trump administration is investigating people for bringing medicine to Cuban children while defending policies that deprive those same children of food, fuel, and basic medical supplies,” she wrote on X. “If loving the Cuban people is a crime, then millions around the world are guilty too.”

The Treasury’s investigation marks a serious escalation from the Trump administration against far-left activists who defend Cuba and other communist regimes, often slamming the US for its actions against foreign countries.

The investigations also comes as the Trump administration and Republican allies have ramped up threats against Cuba, designated a state sponsor of terrorism, warning that the US may take military action in Havana.

Tensions quickly escalated last week after the US Justice Department issued an indictment against former Cuban President Raúl Castro.

Unbelievable On-Air Reaction: NBC Reporter Faces Backlash Over White House Shooting Coverage

0

An NBC reporter has captured widespread attention online for her composed reaction when gunshots erupted near the White House.

Julie Tsirkin, a Capitol Hill correspondent for NBC News, was broadcasting live from the vicinity of the White House lawn on Saturday night when the sound of gunfire suddenly interrupted the scene in Washington, D.C.

The 28-year-old journalist displayed a momentary look of confusion as she shifted her gaze towards the source of the noise before turning back to the camera and asking, “What is that?”

A nearby individual, speculated to be her cameraman, replied, “Sounds like fireworks,” which led Tsirkin to cautiously move in the direction of the disturbance, later reported by officials to originate from a Secret Service checkpoint.

Returning her attention to the camera, Tsirkin appeared momentarily bewildered, exchanging a blank stare with the man beside her.

Officials then started screaming: ‘Out! Out!’ as the reporter immediately darted with others to the press briefing room.

The gunman, Nasire Best, 21, was fatally shot by Secret Service agents after exchanging fire with them while the White House was put on lockdown.

President Donald Trump was inside the building, but unharmed.

‘That woman – Tsirkin has the survival instinct of a goldfish!,’ wrote another.

Someone else chimed in: ‘Zero situational awareness.’

Another user said her reaction resembled that of a character in a horror film.

‘If she was a person in a horror movie, she would be the one that hears the noise outside at night then walks outside alone with nothing but a flashlight calling out hello,’ they wrote.

While some people were left troubled by her reaction, others embraced the moment, with Tsirkin going viral online in a series of memes.

The reporter even poked fun at the attention she’s gotten since the clip hit the internet.

‘I’m glad I could take one for the team with @nbcsnl on summer break,’ Tsirkin said, referring to the late-night sketch comedy show that just wrapped up its 51st season on May 16.

An adult male bystander, who has not been named, was struck by a bullet during the shooting and taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.

He underwent surgery and is in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon, the Secret Service and Metropolitan Police said, according to The New York Times.

Police continue to investigate exactly who shot the bystander.

When gunfire first rang out, reporters at the White House said they heard about 20 to 30 gunshots.

ABC White House Correspondent Selena Wang appeared startled as gunshots rang out while she was recording a report on her phone.

She immediately ducked down before running toward the White House briefing room, per officials’ orders.

Secret Service Uniformed Division officers quickly returned fire, killing Best.

Best, who was known to the protection agency and had a documented history of mental health conditions, had been living in Washington, DC, for around 18 months, a source told CBS News.

The president was inside at the time as he was working on an Iran peace deal with Middle Eastern leaders inside the Oval Office.

Trump aides Steven Cheung, Natalie Harp, Margo Martin, and others were all present with the president when the shooting occurred.

In the hours after the shooting, it was revealed that the suspect believed he was Jesus, officials said.

After the chaos, Trump took to Truth Social, stating that Best ‘had a violent history and possible obsession with our Country’s most cherished structure.’

The president, who appeared to be talking about the White House, added: ‘Thank you to our great Secret Service and Law Enforcement for the swift and professional action taken this evening against a gunman near the White House, who had a violent history and possible obsession with our Country’s most cherished structure.

‘The gunman is dead after an exchange of gunfire with Secret Service Agents near the White House gates.

‘This event is one month removed from the White House Correspondent’ [sic] Dinner shooting, and goes to show how important it is, for all future Presidents, to get, what will be, the most safe and secure space of its kind ever built in Washington, DC. The National Security of our Country demands it!’
