Massive Cocaine Bust: 200kg Seized on Catamaran Navigating Australian Waters

0
A NSW man has been charged over an alleged drug importation plot after 200 kilograms of cocaine was unearthed aboard a catamaran sailing near the Queensland-NSW border.

A catamaran that embarked from the Tweed River on April 14 faced scrutiny after authorities revealed it had turned off its transponder while journeying north, according to police reports.

Investigators suspect the vessel retrieved a shipment of drugs at sea before making its way back to the mainland. The transponder was reactivated as the catamaran approached the Tweed River, police stated.

The New South Wales Police Force Marine Area Command intercepted the boat on April 16 as it navigated into the Tweed River, near the Queensland border.

After the interception, the catamaran was towed to a secure site where it underwent a thorough search and forensic examination by specialists.

Authorities allege that the search unveiled approximately 200 kilograms of cocaine concealed in black duffel bags aboard the vessel, alongside $100,000 in cash.

Police discovered the stash as part of an investigation into an alleged international plot by a bikie syndicate to sail cocaine into Australian waters before using smaller vessels to bring the drugs to shore.

Australian Border Force Superintendent Jim Ley warned would-be criminals that border and law enforcement agencies were working together to protect the community.

“This amount of cocaine would have meant more addiction, more crime, and more violence in our communities.,” Ley said.

“Our message to organised crime is clear: we are watching, we are working together, and we will stop anyone who tries to bring illicit drugs into Australia.”

The discovery triggered investigators to execute multiple search warrants across southeast Queensland and northern NSW.

Police are not ruling out further arrests as they work to determine who else was involved in importing the drugs.

A Tweed Heads man, 41, was charged with one count of importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug.

He was faced the NSW Bail Division Court on April 17, where he was formally refused bail and remanded to appear before the same court on June 12.

If found guilty, the man could face a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

Matt Fitzpatrick Triumphs Over Scottie Scheffler in Thrilling Playoff Victory at RBC Heritage

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Matt Fitzpatrick found himself in a tense playoff at Harbour Town, squaring off against the popular American and world number one, Scottie Scheffler, amidst a boisterous crowd rallying behind the home favorite.

The scene was reminiscent of a similar showdown three years earlier, featuring another breathtaking shot into the 18th hole—a moment Fitzpatrick described as “out of this world.”

This time, the 31-year-old Englishman silenced the enthusiastic gallery with a stellar 4-iron strike from 204 yards. Although slightly more left than planned, the ball gracefully cleared the bunker, rolled past the pin, and settled a mere 13 feet away for a birdie, securing his second victory at the RBC Heritage over Scheffler.

The playoff echoed Fitzpatrick’s earlier triumph at the RBC Heritage, where he edged out another American crowd favorite, Jordan Spieth, in a playoff. Back then, a 9-iron with a tailwind brought him inches from the hole for a winning birdie.

This iteration of the final hole proved to be a demanding challenge, marking the toughest test at Harbour Town on that Sunday.

“It was quite funny that the playoff was just going to keep playing on 18. I was thinking it was going difficult in a way to separate ourselves because it’s such a difficult hole,” Fitzpatrick said. “To do it how I did was special.”

Scheffler, trailing by three shots with four holes to play, forced a playoff with a pair of late birdies for a 4-under 67 and some help from Fitzpatrick, who hit a poor chip from right of the green and missed a 20-foot par putt for his only bogey of the day and a 70.

The gallery that was allowed to come onto the fairway short of the 18th green in regulation filled the Calibogue Sound with endless chants of “U-S-A! U-S-A!” They returned outside the ropes to see Fitzpatrick hit 4-iron into a stiff breeze to a pin just over the bunker.

Scheffler followed with his worst swing of the day, a 6-iron he fanned so badly that it came up 37 yards short of the hole. He hit a superb pitch to 8 feet, but never had to putt when Fitzpatrick made the winning putt.

“A lot of grit,” Fitzpatrick said of holding on for the win.

His reaction was muted, lightly touching his finger to his right ear in a friendly response to the crowd. Fitzpatrick knew what he was up against, having gone through a similar atmosphere when Cameron Young beat him at The Players Championship.

“I didn’t get out of line in terms of no one was shouting on backswings or anything like that, which was great,” Fitzpatrick said. “I’m all for it. I love the people … they’re supporting Scottie. You want golf to have an atmosphere. I’m paid so much money to be out there in front of those crowds. Having them chanting at you every week, it’s great feeling.

“However,” he said with a smile, “there’s no better feeling than coming out on top against that.”

It was the second straight runner-up finish for Scheffler, who came from 12 shots behind going into the weekend to finish one back of Rory McIlroy at the Masters. This time, he was seven behind Fitzpatrick through 36 holes and finished 64-67.

“In both weeks I put myself behind the 8-ball going into the weekend and had really nice Saturdays and Sundays in order to get myself into contention,” Scheffler said. “On Sunday it’s a shot here or there that makes a difference. This was one of those weeks where anytime Fitzy needed something to happen, he made something happen.

“He definitely earned the win, and he just played great golf.”

It was great theater, but only at the end.

Fitzpatrick started with a three-shot lead and birdied two of the opening three holes, never letting anyone closer than three shots all round until Si Woo Kim birdied the par-5 15th to get within two shots, and then Scheffler came on late with an up-and-down from a bunker for birdie on the 15th, and a bold drive and approach to 10 feet for birdie at the 16th.

That cut the lead to one shot, and both players missed the 18th green well to the right. Scheffler capped off a perfect day of scrambling — 8 for 8 — with a chip that settled a foot from the hole. Fitzpatrick faced his first chip into the grain and came up well short.

They finished at 18-under 268. Kim closed with a 68 to finish alone in third, his fourth top 10 of the year.

Fitzpatrick won for the second time in the last month. After his runner-up finish at The Players, he won the Valspar Championship on the tough Innisbrook track. He has won nearly $8.3 million in his last four tournaments.

The victory, his fourth on the PGA Tour and 13th worldwide, moves him to a career-high No. 3 in the world ranking.

Fitzpatrick’s family used to take holidays to Hilton Head Head when he was a boy, for the golf and tennis and beaches. He came to the tournament and thought it would be cool to win it one day, and now he has done it twice.

“It means the world,” he said. “This is a tournament I wanted to win growing up more than any of the majors before I understood more about the game. To go toe-to-toe with Scottie and get it over the line is special.”

Heartbreaking Tragedy: Guardsman’s Final Moments Captured Before Unthinkable Family Tragedy

0

Just days prior to allegedly committing one of the most horrific family massacres in U.S. history, Shamar Elkins was captured in a poignant moment. Bathed in spring sunshine, he stood surrounded by his seven children, some smiling broadly, others a bit shy, all dressed in their Sunday best for church.

“Happy Easter had a wonderful time at church for the first time with all my kids, what a blessed day,” he captioned the photo shared earlier this month.

Now, that same image has taken on a chilling significance, showing a family blissfully unaware of the impending tragedy that would claim their lives at the hands of their own father.

The serene facade shattered in the early hours of Sunday morning in Shreveport, Louisiana. According to police reports, Elkins, 31, allegedly embarked on a violent spree with the intent to annihilate his family.

Authorities have characterized the event as a domestic disturbance that tragically ended the lives of eight children and left several others injured.

Officers were called just after 6am to reports of gunfire at a home located steps away from a Baptist church.

By the time the violence ended, at least 10 people had been shot. Eight children, ranging in age from as young as three years to teenagers, were all dead.

Police confirmed that seven of the victims were Elkins’ own children, while an eighth child was his nephew.

Two adult women, including one identified as his wife, Shaneiqua Elkins, and one with whom he had also fathered children survived, despite suffering gunshot wounds to the head.

Two weeks before the massacre, Shamar Elkins posted a smiling Easter photo with his children

Shaneiqua was undergoing surgery Sunday night, and her family was identifying the bodies of her children, a relative told the Daily Mail.

‘We are in shock right now with the events that’s unfolded. Family members are standing by her hoping her surgery goes well,’ the relative said.

‘It’s truly a tragedy to experience this loss. Losing seven of your children and also being shot yourself.’

A young boy, caught in the chaos, leapt from the roof of the home in a desperate attempt to escape.

Authorities say Elkins fled the scene, carried out a carjacking, and led cops on a high-speed chase to a neighboring parish before he was shot and killed by police.

‘This is a tragic situation – maybe the worst tragic situation we’ve ever had,’ Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux said as the city grappled with the scale of the loss.

‘We have a hurting community, we have hurting families, we have hurting police officers… This affects the entire community.’

Police spokesperson Christopher Bordelon described the investigation as sprawling and complex.

‘The crime scene was rather extensive,’ he said. ‘We do believe him to be the only individual that fired gunshots at these locations here.’

At the second home, seven children were killed inside and one was found dead on the roof after apparently trying to escape.

Investigators have said they believe the violence was ‘entirely a domestic incident’.

Police said the attacks began before sunrise in a neighborhood south of downtown Shreveport when the suspect shot a woman at one home and then drove to the other location ‘where this heinous act was carried out.’

Another child also jumped off the same roof and was expected to survive after being taken to a hospital.

State Rep Tammy Phelps said some children also tried to get away through the back door.

‘I can’t even imagine what the police officers, first responders actually dealt with when they got here today,’ she said at a news conference.

The victims were three boys and five girls, according to the Caddo Parish Coroner´s office.

Shamar Elkins and his wife were in the middle of separating and were due in court on Monday, said Crystal Brown, a cousin of one of the wounded women.

Brown said the couple had been arguing about the separation before the shooting.

‘He murdered his children,’ Brown said. ‘He shot his wife.’

Shaneiqua and Elkins had been together for 10 years and married on April 9, 2024, according to a poignant Facebook post by Shaneiqua, marking their first wedding anniversary.

They had four daughters together.

Elkins shared the four with his wife and three children with another woman who lived close by and who was also one of the women shot, according to Brown. All the children Elkins fathered were all  together at one house, she said.

Jayla Elkins, 3; Shayla Elkins, 5; Kayla Pugh, 6; Layla Pugh, 7; Markaydon Pugh, 10; Sariahh Snow, 11; Khedarrion Snow, 6; and Braylon Snow, 5 were all found dead inside the home.

In the aftermath, as the names and faces of the victims emerge, attention has turned to Elkins’ online presence and whether any warning signs were missed.

Only one month before the massacre, Elkins responded to a viral social media prompt that read: ‘Dads If you could go back in time and have kids with a different woman but still have the same kids, would you do it?’

His reply was blunt. ‘Hell yehhhhhhhh I would.’

Since the shooting, that comment has resurfaced, drawing a wave of grief, anger, and disbelief from those now looking back at his words.

‘Lord he were giving some signs,’ one person wrote beneath the post.

‘We need to start looking for s*** like this to give somebody a heads up,’ another added.

‘He spoke loudly right here. And no one saw it,’ a third wrote.

Elkins, a former member of the Louisiana Army National Guard, had previously served from 2013 to 2020 as a Signal Support System Specialist and Fire Support Specialist, according to military officials. He had no deployments and left the service as a private.

Records show he also had a prior run-in with the law. In 2019, he was arrested after allegedly firing shots near a high school in Shreveport and was later charged with illegal use of weapons.

He served 30 days in jail and was placed on supervised release.

‘What began as a domestic dispute has ended in irreversible harm,’ the Caddo Parish district attorney’s office said in a statement.

The scale of the tragedy has stunned even seasoned officials.

‘I just don’t know what to say, my heart is just taken aback,’ Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith said. ‘I cannot begin to imagine how such an event could occur.’

Caddo Parish Schools Superintendent Keith Burton called it an ‘unspeakable tragedy.’

‘We know that eight young lives were taken far too soon. They were children with dreams, hopes and futures that were just beginning to take shape,’ he said.

‘There are no words that can make sense of a loss like this.’

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill added: ‘We do not yet know all the details, but I am deeply saddened by the senseless loss of life. I’m praying for the victims and their family members in the wake of this devastating violence.’

House Speaker Mike Johnson, who represents the region, wrote: ‘Heartbreaking tragedy in Shreveport this morning – 8 children were senselessly killed and multiple others were injured.’

Shreveport, about five hours outside of New Orleans, is a high crime area known for violence, according to Neighborhood Scout.

Euphoria’s Narrative Chaos: How the Sydney Sweeney Baby Controversy Highlights Series’ Downfall

The imagery of a baby’s cradle sways uneasily in the latest controversy surrounding “Euphoria.” Ahead of the second episode of the third season, a preview featuring Sydney Sweeney’s character in an OnlyFans-inspired baby outfit sparked outrage online, with many labeling it as “disgusting.” This reaction came even before the episode aired, setting a tense backdrop for what was to come.

The episode, titled “America My Dream,” sought to provide context for the contentious scene, but instead shed an unflattering light on the creative decisions of series mastermind Sam Levinson. The unfolding of events in this installment is a vivid illustration of how the show’s narrative may have veered off course.

In the episode, Sweeney’s character, Cassie, is seen posing provocatively for photographs. She dons a diaper, pairs it with a sheer pink top, styles her hair in pigtails, and completes the look with a pacifier. The intention behind these images is to exude a sense of allure, albeit in a deeply unsettling manner.

Later, Cassie presents these photos to a friend, explaining her motivations. She mentions that the photo shoot was designed to appeal to a niche community known as “adult babies,” claiming she receives numerous requests for such content. This revelation did little to quell the backlash, raising further questions about the portrayal of such themes on mainstream television.

Later, Cassie shows the baby photo shoot to a friend, explaining that she did it to cater to a “whole subculture…adult babies.” She keeps getting “all these requests” for it, she says.

As she explained in the season premiere, she’s doing these photo shoots to make money on OnlyFans, to pay for a $50K floral arrangement she wants for her wedding with Nate (Jacob Elordi).

On-screen, other characters call it “sick” and “disturbing.”

So, the show doesn’t act like it’s acceptable. But, just acknowledging that isn’t enough. Who is this visual of Cassie dressed as a baby for? If Levinson has a point other than shock value, he misses it by miles.

It’s fine for a show to be provocative, but this goes beyond that. It’s such a loaded image — one fan commented, “that’s some pedo sh-t” — it’s irresponsible for Levinson to present it with minimal comment, without interrogating it.

In an interview published April 12, the showrunner told the Hollywood Reporter that Cassie’s OnlyFans outfits are supposed to have “absurdity” and “humor” and also be “depressing.” But there are thousands of other outfits that could convey that. It didn’t need to be a baby.

Although the first two seasons had salacious and startling moments, “Euphoria” also used to portray girls’ lives with some empathy. Season 3 just leers at and dehumanizes them.

In Season 2, Cassie degraded herself for Nate. The show did seem to take too much pleasure in it. But, there was a larger point, as that story explored how a girl like Cassie can destroy herself for a toxic guy. That’s an experience that many viewers can relate to, or can recall witnessing.

When Cassie dresses as a baby in Season 3, “Euphoria” isn’t saying anything thoughtful about a particular experience. It isn’t asking us to understand her behavior. It’s making her a sordid punchline, to the point where it feels spiteful.

“Euphoria” premiered in 2019, before its stacked cast — Zendaya, Sweeney, Elordi — became A-listers. The first two seasons followed the hedonistic antics of high schoolers.

At first, the question of “who is this for?” turned out to be nearly everyone. When Season 2 aired in 2022, it became HBO’s second most-watched show after “Game of Thrones,” boasting over 18 million viewers.

It resonated beyond Gen-Z because it encouraged Gen X and millennial audiences to recall their own teen experiences, since it was packed with older pop culture references that weren’t realistic for Gen-Z (like characters wearing Halloween costumes from “Taxi Driver” and “True Romance”).

When Season 3 puts Cassie in a baby outfit, it’s hard to see who that’s supposed to resonate with — aside from creeps.

During the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Levinson was asked about the sexual content in his shows. He replied, “We live in a very sexualized world. The influence of pornography is really strong in terms of the psyche of young people.”

Sure, that’s a thought. And he’s not going anywhere with it in Season 3, aside from vaguely gesturing at it, and showing off the fact that he’s seemingly familiar with porn. Congratulations on that.

Season 3 is full of porny “fetish” content visuals — like Cassie dressed as a dog while Nate tugs her leash — with nothing to say beyond, “look at this!”

“Euphoria” has always been a provocative show, but its first two seasons also had some deeper meaning. In Season 3, the provocation is just empty outrage-bait.

Subtle Indicators Suggest Strain Among Jenna Bush Hager and Her ‘Today’ Co-Hosts

Before Jenna Bush Hager became a fixture on the “Today” show in 2009, she was no stranger to the spotlight, often for her youthful escapades as one of former President George W. Bush’s daughters. Her adventures, such as eluding Secret Service detail to meet her boyfriend, were the stuff of tabloid fodder for years. Now, as a co-host of the fourth hour of “Today” alongside Sheinelle Jones, Jenna has cemented her place in morning television. However, whispers of behind-the-scenes drama continue to follow her, suggesting that not all is harmonious among the “Today” team when the cameras aren’t rolling.

A particularly viral rumor swirls around Jenna and fellow “Today” star Samantha Guthrie. Despite their real-life friendship, the two had a tense on-air moment when Jenna jokingly criticized Guthrie for not inviting her to her 2014 wedding. This exchange seemed more than just a passing awkwardness, with Guthrie reportedly expressing her frustration, saying, “We can’t do this again,” as noted by journalist Rob Shuter on Substack.

According to Shuter, Guthrie was “furious” about Jenna bringing up the wedding snub on television and had repeatedly asked her to let it go. “She’s begged Jenna to drop it, but Jenna keeps poking,” a source revealed to Shuter in August 2025. “It’s gone from playful to mean,” the source continued, adding that Jenna’s persistence was causing genuine tension.

Jenna’s apparent knack for stirring the pot doesn’t end there. Rumors also suggest that her relationship with other “Today” co-hosts might not be as friendly as it appears. Hoda Kotb, for instance, cited her daughter’s Type 1 diabetes as the primary reason for stepping down from “Today with Hoda & Jenna.” Yet, some gossip sources have speculated that Jenna played a role in facilitating Hoda’s dramatic exit, despite Jenna visibly tearing up during Hoda’s final episode in 2025.

Unfortunately for Hager, this isn’t the only suggestion that she and her “Today” co-hosts aren’t as chummy as they seem.

Did Jenna Bush Hager push Hoda Kobt out?

Hoda Kotb has said that the need to care for her daughter, who has Type 1 diabetes, was a major catalyst for leaving “Today with Hoda & Jenna,” which she hosted with Jenna Bush Hager. However, gossip blogs have suggested that Hager, who cried after Kotb’s last episode in 2025, actually orchestrated Kotb’s messy exit behind the scenes.

According to a Radar source, Kotb let go of the role because of cliquey behavior from Hager and Savannah Guthrie. They also alleged that Hager, who hadn’t yet tapped Sheinelle Jones for “Today with Jenna & Sheinelle,” was nervous that “Today” execs would get rid of her for a more famous star like Scarlett Johansson to secure stronger ratings.

Of course, gossip from anonymous sources should be taken with a grain of salt, but it hasn’t helped the rumors that Hager doesn’t get along well with her colleagues. Unsurprisingly, fans have also speculated endlessly about this topic. On Reddit, for example, one fan pointed out the awkward energy between Hager and Carson Daly, who contributes to “Today” as a feature anchor. In a broader discussion about how they felt Daly wasn’t happy with the job, one user wrote, “I knew Jenna got on his nerves but the body language.” A second seemed to agree, writing, “Oh I know he like never wants to engage with her and its quite funny.”

Don Jazzy Weighs in on the Longevity of Modern Marriages with “Butter Ice Cream Cake” Analogy

Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy has ignited a lively discussion across social media platforms with his humorous and insightful commentary on why modern marriages often fall short of the longevity seen in previous generations.

In a trending video shared widely online, the Mavin Records founder cleverly uses the tradition of wedding cakes to draw parallels between past and present-day relationships, delivering both amusement and food for thought.

Don Jazzy’s Unusual Marriage Theory

Speaking in a relaxed manner, Don Jazzy mused, “We were just contemplating why some marriages today don’t endure like those of our parents.”

He went on to illustrate that historically, wedding celebrations featured traditional fruit cakes, which were known for their long-lasting nature, symbolizing the enduring quality of marriages back then.

According to him, “Back in the days our parents… they used to make this fruit cake… they’ll leave the rest of the cake for like one year… and eat it in the one-year anniversary.”

He suggested that the durability of those cakes symbolised the endurance of marriages in earlier times.

Modern Cakes, Modern Relationships

Drawing a contrast with present-day practices, the music producer noted that many modern wedding cakes are made with butter and cream, which do not last long.

He said, “Now all those fruit cake that they used to put like alcohol… to make it last long… now you probably know this butter, butter ice cream cake… it doesn’t use to last.”

Don Jazzy jokingly linked this shift to shorter marriages, implying that what lasts longer may reflect deeper commitment and patience.

The Rise of Decorative Cakes

The entertainer also pointed out a growing trend where wedding cakes are largely decorative rather than functional.

He remarked, “Now some people don’t even make cake… they just design one big giant… and then put one small tiny part… where you can cut and share.”

He added humorously that much of the cake is sometimes covered with non-edible materials, saying, “Apparently the rest of the body of the big cake is a giant plastic.”

Humour with a Hint of Reflection

While Don Jazzy admitted his comments were not entirely serious, he ended on a light note, saying, “Maybe that is why your people’s marriage is not working… Maybe I’m high. I didn’t smoke, I just ate.”

Strategies to Combat Price Gouging Amid the Fuel Crisis

0

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has launched an investigation into suppliers serving remote and regional areas of the country following complaints about exorbitant fuel surcharges, some reportedly exceeding 70%. This examination comes amid increasing concerns about similar surcharges cropping up in urban areas, affecting cafes, restaurants, and travel companies as well.

Matt Grudnoff, a senior economist at the Australia Institute, highlighted the legal landscape surrounding these practices. In a conversation with SBS Examines, he stressed that it is against Australian law to deceive customers by falsely attributing price hikes solely to increased costs.

Interestingly, while misleading consumers is illegal, certain types of price gouging remain within the legal boundaries. “If a company notices the prevailing chatter about price hikes and decides to raise their prices without any actual increase in their costs, that action is entirely legal,” Grudnoff explained.

However, some other forms of price gouging are actually legal.

Most people don’t know that, but it is not illegal to price gouge.

Matt Grudnoff, senior economist, the Australia Institute

“If a firm sees that everybody’s talking about price increases and they decide on the back of that to increase their prices, even though their costs haven’t gone up, that’s perfectly legal,” Mr Grudnoff said.

Professor David Byrne, the Ritchie Chair of Economic Research at the University of Melbourne, said healthy competition is important to fight price gouging.

But he said this is a challenge in Australia.

“We have fewer firms supplying us. And so we see that in petrol. We see that in banking, supermarkets … these companies have market power,” he said.

When you only have a few players in a market, the lack of competition means you’ll get higher prices.

Open Heaven 20 April 2026 – Reversing Hopelessness

Open Heaven 20 April 2026 Monday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Reversing Hopelessness

Open Heaven 20 April 2026 TOPIC – Reversing Hopelessness

MEMORISE: But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. – Psalm 3:3 (KJV)

READ: John 5:2-9 (KJV)

2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 6-8

Open Heaven 20 April 2026 MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, a certain man, who had suffered from an infirmity for 38 years, had an encounter with Jesus. From his response to Jesus Christ’s question, it was clear that he had lost all hope, but Jesus reversed his hopelessness when He commanded him to take up his bed and walk. In an instant, the 38-year infirmity disappeared, and his hopelessness vanished. I pray for you today that the Almighty God, who can reverse hopeless situations, will visit you today, and you shall receive a miracle, in Jesus’ name.

When God wants to turn a fellow whom the world seems to have forsaken into a living testimony, He will arrange a divine encounter for the fellow. He will work it out in such a way that everyone around him or her will know that He is definitely at work.

Several years ago, I was travelling to Ilesha, a town in South-West Nigeria. Along the way, I saw a car that seemed to have broken down. As I approached it, I saw that it had an RCCG sticker on it. On taking a closer look, I saw that the person standing beside the car was a church member whom I knew. I also saw that she was pregnant. I asked her, “What’s wrong with your car?” Immediately she saw me, she exclaimed, “Daddy! Is it really you I’m seeing? Oh God!” I asked her again, “Is there a problem with your car?” She replied, “Sir, don’t worry about the car. I have a bigger problem.” She then went on to tell me that the baby in her womb had not moved for the past six days, and the doctors had told her that they were going to evacuate the baby. After listening to her, I said, “In that case, I decree, baby, come back to life, in Jesus’ name.” Immediately, the baby started moving again. A few years ago, I visited one of our parishes in Europe, and that same baby whom the doctors wanted to evacuate from the woman’s womb was the one playing the drums.

Beloved, I want you to know that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). If you are currently in the midst of a situation that seems hopeless, I want you to put your trust in the One who makes rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19). He will bring you out of that hopeless situation and give you victory where defeat seemed certain, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heaven 20 April 2026 PRAYER POINT

Father, please turn every hopeless situation in my life around for good, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heaven 20 April 2026 HYMN 21 – My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less

1 My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Chorus:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

2 When darkness seems to veils His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

3 His oath, His covenant, and blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

4 When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
