Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and his former fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, are reportedly entangled in emotional turmoil as they come to grips with the end of their engagement, insiders have shared with the Daily Mail.

The couple, both aged 32, ended their relationship abruptly in March, following a joint bachelor-bachelorette celebration in the Bahamas. The split occurred just weeks before their planned wedding in Lake Como, Italy.

The wedding was unexpectedly canceled after Ramos allegedly discovered Prescott had been using secret social media accounts to communicate with other women.

Since the breakup, Prescott has remained silent on the matter, while Ramos has been active online, though she hasn’t spoken directly about the situation.

A source familiar with the duo—who share two young daughters—reveals that both Prescott and Ramos are still grappling with the reality of their separation.

‘For Dak and Sarah, everything feels a bit surreal,’ the source said. ‘They’re both still processing the emotions of what was supposed to be their wedding just days away.

‘They’re in the thick of it all, not yet fully able to grasp what’s happened and they haven’t even had the space to really cry or begin working through it. 

‘They are doing everything else to not focus on their relationship fully being over. They are holding up OK, but they have yet to fully deal with it all head on.’

On Thursday, it was reported that the couple have agreed to amicably negotiate a temporary custody arrangement in the best interests of their children – Margaret, 2, and Aurora, who is just 10 months old.

Our source continued: ‘Friends of Dak and Sarah are hoping they face this dilemma head on, because the longer they stretch it out, it is not going to be something beneficial for them or their kids. And that is who it is about right now, their kids. 

‘They are taking it day by day, but the next few days, especially as we get closer to what would have been their wedding, is going to be rough. 

‘Whether they show it and wear their hearts on their sleeves is unknown. Some time still needs to pass for this to be less emotional than what it is currently.’

A TMZ report claims that Prescott filed a Suit Affecting the Parent-Child Relationship (SAPCR) on March 17 in Collin County, Texas, insisting that he and Ramos ‘be appointed joint managing conservators’ of their daughters.

Amicable negotiations aside, it remains to be seen whether their relationship itself stands any chance of being repaired.

Our source said: ‘Can they be friends? Will time heal all wounds? Probably – but right now, the scars are too deep and are too fresh to know what is next. 

‘They are both an emotional mess and are really trying to put on a serious face, but it is something much easier said than done.’ 

Further reports have claimed that the temporary orders hearing was initially scheduled for Thursday morning but has since been pushed back as the former couple look to work through the issue outside of court.  

Prescott’s attorney, Levi G. McCathern II, told Page Six: ‘The case is not resolved, but the parties have agreed to postpone the first hearing in an attempt to work out all of the various issues without court intervention.

‘Dak is looking forward to working with Sarah Jane to develop a healthy co-parent relationship and do what is in the best interests of his children.’

While alleged infidelity fears were the driving force behind this 11th hour drama, a source close to the couple also revealed to the Daily Mail that Ramos had feared married life would leave her miserable, with Prescott struggling under pressure on the field.

‘Sarah realized that is how the relationship was going and she had to get out before it was too late,’ the source said. ‘She chose her wellbeing over misery in a loveless marriage.’ 

On Tuesday last week, Prescott broke cover for the first time since the drama sparked after being pictured alongside former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett.

Meanwhile, just days before the split was made public, Ramos shared pictures from her bachelorette with the now-pointed caption: ‘I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends. I love these girls so much.’

Ramos has also scrubbed the reference to being a fiancée from her Instagram bio, although her own personal website still references being engaged to Prescott. 

After news of their split first emerged, Ramos and Prescott sent a message to their guests explaining that the wedding was off.

‘As many of you know, our wedding is currently scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday April 10, 2026. It is with heavy hearts that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding,’ the note, first reported by TMZ, said.

WORCESTER, Mass. — Facing serious charges, a supervisor and two instructors from a Massachusetts State Police tactical unit pleaded not guilty on Thursday in relation to the tragic death of a recruit. The recruit had sustained a concussion during a sparring session and suffered fatal injuries the following day, during what investigators have labeled an “unapproved and unsafe” boxing match.

Enrique Delgado-Garcia, aged 25, passed away at a hospital on September 13, 2024. His death came a day after a “medical crisis” left him unresponsive during a defensive tactics exercise, according to authorities. Such charges are notably uncommon in these situations.

In February, David Meier, an investigator appointed by the Massachusetts Attorney General, announced charges against the supervisor and instructors from the police academy’s defensive tactics unit. These charges included involuntary manslaughter and causing serious bodily injury during training. The supervisor also faces a perjury charge related to her grand jury testimony.

Meier highlighted that unsafe sparring practices were responsible for the recruit’s initial concussion. He further noted that Delgado-Garcia suffered “multiple blunt force injuries to the head and massive brain bleeding” a day later, as academy staff failed to intervene in a training boxing match.

Lt. Jennifer Penton, who was a sergeant at the time of her charge, along with Troopers Edwin Rodriguez and David Montanez, pled not guilty to all allegations before Worcester Superior Court Judge J. Gavin Reardon Jr. Meanwhile, a fourth officer, Trooper Casey LaMonte, is set to be arraigned on April 14.

All plead not guilty

In a packed courtroom, Penton, Rodriguez and Montanez stood together and responded “not guilty” as the charges were read. Across the courtroom, relatives of Delgado-Garcia watched quietly. A handful of people outside court help up signs showing the trainee’s face and the words, “Justice For Enrique.”

The three defendants were released on personal recognizance under several conditions including having no contact with potential witnesses in the case.

Outside court, the family’s attorney, Mike Wilcox, said Thursday was “a difficult and long day” for Delgado-Garcia’s relatives, some seen holding back tears.

“They’ve been patient. They have been gracious through all this. They have shown nothing but class,” Wilcox said.

“They are grieving still, as you can tell, and they are going to stick with this process for as long as it takes,” he said. “They want justice for Enrique, and they want to make sure that the process is fair and that Enrique is heard here.”

The defendants didn’t speak exiting the court but their attorneys called the death a “tragic accident” and said the three were just doing their jobs and would be found innocent.

“The tragedy of Trooper Delgado is not a crime. Filing these criminal charges will not bring Trooper Delgado Garcia back,” Penton’s lawyer Brad Bailey said. “The Commonwealth’s effort to apply … convoluted legal theory to the underlying facts will not change them. Nor will it transform this tragedy into criminal conduct.”

Attorney defends training and troopers

Kevin Reddington, representing Montanez, described all three troopers as “good people” and defended the training as necessary to prepare recruits for their crime-fighting duties.

“It’s so easy for people to say oh my goodness that was just too rough,” Reddington said. “This is reckless conduct that they’re alleging, manslaughter charges that they are alleging against people that were doing their job, consistent with rules, regulations, and what has been recognized as valid training.”

Brian Williams, the president of the State Police Association of Massachusetts, also defended the troopers.

“These members and our entire defensive tactics staff are among the best in the nation and all established protocols were strictly followed,” he said.

Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell appointed Meier in February and said it was important to have an independent, impartial investigatio. It follows calls from advocacy groups and Delgado-Garcia’s family and friends for those responsible to be held accountable.

More than 30 recruits have died in academies since 2015

The number of deaths have risen in recent years as departments turn to less-traditional candidates to fill openings but maintain longstanding academy drills. Investigators have generally treated them as unfortunate but unavoidable medical incidents, and criminal charges have rarely been considered.

The charges in Massachusetts are believed to be the first related to a police academy recruit’s death in years. In examining the deaths of 37 recruits since 2005, AP could not find any other case that led to criminal charges.

Other forms of legal accountability, including civil lawsuits and workplace safety investigations, have also rarely been pursued. Families have struggled to collect federal death benefits, even after Congress passed a law clarifying that recruits were eligible.

NASA’s Artemis II team successfully ignited Orion spacecraft’s main engine, setting the course for a lunar journey just a day after venturing into deep space.

The crucial engine maneuver, known as the translunar injection burn, lasted several minutes. It is the mission’s most significant propulsion event, propelling Orion out of Earth’s orbit and onto a path that will guide the crew around the moon and return them safely to Earth.

“With the successful TLI, we’re feeling optimistic on our way to the moon,” Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hanson relayed to mission control. “We want to express our gratitude to everyone worldwide who has contributed to making Artemis a reality. We felt the strength of your dedication during every second of that burn. Humanity has once again demonstrated its capabilities, and your dreams for the future propel us on this lunar journey.”

According to NASA, the burn sets Orion on a “free-return trajectory,” a flight path that naturally loops around the moon and directs the spacecraft back to Earth without the need for further major propulsion efforts.

The Artemis II crew embarked on their lunar mission Thursday, following a nearly five-minute burn that launched Orion out of Earth’s orbit for an almost eight-day round trip to the moon and back.

Orion also appeared to perform better than expected during crew-guided maneuvers, with Orion Program Manager Howard Hu saying the spacecraft responded strongly to astronaut input and that pilot Victor Glover from the U.S. “did exactly what he needed to do.”

The milestone marks the moment the Artemis II mission transitions from Earth orbit operations to deep space travel, sending astronauts farther from Earth than any crewed mission in more than 50 years.

Hanson and Glover, as well as astronauts Reid Wiseman and Christina Koch of the U.S. launched Wednesday evening aboard the Space Launch System rocket from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The four-person crew lifted off at 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday, marking the first crewed mission beyond low Earth orbit since 1972 and a major step in NASA’s efforts to return humans to the moon.

Prior to the translunar injection, the crew completed a perigee raise burn to position the spacecraft in the correct orbital geometry for the maneuver, ensuring the engine firing would place Orion precisely on its intended path.

With the burn now complete, Orion will spend the next several days traveling toward the moon, with NASA planning a series of smaller trajectory correction maneuvers to keep the spacecraft on course.

As the spacecraft approaches the moon, it will enter the lunar sphere of influence, the point at which the moon’s gravity becomes stronger than Earth’s pull, allowing Orion to swing around the far side before beginning its return journey.

Although Artemis II will not land on the lunar surface, the mission is designed to test critical systems needed for future moon landings and deep space exploration.

NASA has described Orion as the most powerful spacecraft it has built for human spaceflight, capable of carrying astronauts farther into space than at any point since the Apollo era.

The mission follows the uncrewed Artemis I test flight and is intended to pave the way for future missions, including plans to return astronauts to the lunar surface in the coming years.

NASA has said the broader Artemis program aims to establish a long-term human presence on the moon and lay the groundwork for eventual missions to Mars.

The Artemis II crew is expected to travel around the moon over several days before returning to Earth for a planned splashdown in the Pacific Ocean.
