In a heart-wrenching event last Thursday, a 4-year-old in Kansas succumbed to a “tragic accident” involving a clothes dryer, local authorities have reported.

The unfortunate incident unfolded in the small town of Savonburg as the child was “playing” at home, according to a Saturday statement from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO).

Authorities have disclosed that the child “allegedly received an electrical shock from a 220v dryer,” highlighting the perilous nature of the common household appliance.

Reports indicate that the child’s parents desperately transported their unconscious child to a nearby hospital at around 9:30 p.m. as they struggled to save their young one.

However, the child was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

No foul play is suspected at this time, and the ACSO is investigating the incident.

Officials extended their condolences to the family and responders involved following the incident.

“The Sheriff’s Office extends our heartfelt condolences to the family members and all those affected by this tragedy, including the Allen County dispatchers, first responders, and hospital personnel,” the office said.

A 220-volt electrical current, which was involved in Thursday’s accident, can cause serious injury or death, including cardiac arrest.

While clothes dryers have been linked to thousands of home fires annually, primarily caused by lint buildup blocking exhaust ducts or overheating electrical elements, electrical deaths involving major laundry appliances are considered extremely rare.

In one of the rare instances, a 10-year-old boy was found dead inside a dryer at a Houston-area apartment complex in 2018, according to Fox 5 DC. 

A medical examiner determined the boy had been electrocuted, while investigators found no signs of injury or foul play. 

The death was ruled accidental.

INDIANAPOLIS — For the Liberty, it seemed like they had finally found their stride.

Following these critical conversations, the Liberty re-emerged with renewed energy, highlighting Rebecca Allen in their starting lineup. There was a newfound buzz in the team, revitalizing hopes of making a serious bid for the championship.

Since their last encounter with the Fever, New York has impressively gone 7-1.

Tuesday presented them with a golden opportunity to redeem themselves from that humiliating loss they suffered in July.

Instead, the Liberty looked eerily familiar to the team that previously left Indiana deflated, falling to the Fever 106-92. 

The Liberty didn’t impose anything on the Fever or make them uncomfortable. They, again, got burned by elite opposing guard play. 

The Fever’s dynamic backcourt of Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark had their way for most of the night, with New York’s defense providing little resistance.

Mitchell scored 20 of her game-high 28 points in the first half. Clark added 22 points and 10 assists. The two went a startling 8-for-12 from deep, including 7-for-8 in the first half.

Aliyah Boston finished with 19 points and seven rebounds. 

The Liberty’s defense looked sluggish and disconnected. Their close-outs were slow. 

They just didn’t have it on a night they needed to prove they did.

It put a bright spotlight on the absences of Leonie Fiebich and Satou Sabally, who’ve each been sidelined for more than a month now with no timeline to return.

The Liberty surrendered 64 points in the first half, the third-most allowed in any half in franchise history.

The Fever shot 22-for-37 (59.5 percent) from the field, including 11-for-14 (78.6 percent) from beyond the arc across the first two quarters.

New York seemed ready to storm a comeback at the start of the third.

The Liberty went on an 11-2 run to make it a nine-point game with 6:51 left. New York would get it that close once more, but that was it. 

The Fever slammed the door on the Liberty with a 19-8 run to close the third quarter. 

In a tragic incident that has shocked the community, authorities revealed that a Kansas father fatally shot his four children and their mother before committing suicide in their home.

On Tuesday morning, 53-year-old Ronald Williams Sr made a harrowing call to 911, confessing to dispatchers that he had killed his entire family in their Winfield residence and was about to end his own life, as reported by law enforcement.

Upon forcing entry into the home, officers discovered Williams dead alongside five family members: 44-year-old Kelly George, and children Carol A Williams, 9, Ronald H Williams, 7, Sarah K Williams, 5, and three-year-old Kelly M Magee-Williams.

Winfield Police noted that Ronald had been showing signs of ‘erratic behavior’ for a while, although they admitted they never anticipated such a devastating outcome for his family.

According to Winfield Police Chief Robbie DeLong, there were multiple reports in recent weeks of Ronald confronting and shouting at others, raising concerns about his behavior.

‘I can’t say that anything would have indicated that we would be where we are today,’ he said, adding that he had never seen a case like this in his more than 20-year career.

The motive behind the horrific killings remains a mystery as the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and Winfield Police Department (WPD) continue their investigation.

Authorities revealed new details of the murder-suicide during a press conference Tuesday evening, including Ronald’s disturbing 911 call in which he confessed to killing his entire family. 

The chief said officers were dispatched to the home in the 400 block of West Ninth Street at around 8.50am. Already in the area for another incident, they arrived just after the call came in. 

‘Pretty much immediately, the first officer on scene was approaching the house when they heard a single gunshot,’ DeLong said. ‘At that point, they retreated.’

With no initial indication of any loss of life, the chief said officers quickly established a perimeter around the home and treated the unfolding incident as a ‘barricade situation.’

Just before 11am, after exhausting all other options and bringing in additional backup, officers decided to force their way through the front door, which DeLong said they ‘breached immediately.’

Inside, authorities discovered the bodies of all six relatives, including the couple’s four young children. 

Police confirmed the six victims were all members of the same family and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

‘I believe when he called 911 that he was accurate in what he said, and when officers arrived on scene, that final gunshot wound was a self-inflicted one,’ Jason Diaz, special agent in charge with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), said.

The chief also revealed that police had previously been called to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of the home. 

Ronald’s criminal history in Kansas stretched back years, including a previous case that landed him on the state’s sex offender registry, according to KCTV Investigates.

In September 1998, he was convicted of attempted indecent liberties with a child in connection with an incident involving a 15-year-old girl, according to the outlet. 

He also went by several aliases, including Freddie Williams, Laron Williams and Jerome Williams.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s registered sex offender list shows that Ronald’s offense occurred in June 1997, when he was in his 20s. 

His crimes stretch nearly three decades, with state court records showing he faced felony charges for drugs, battery, assault on a law enforcement officer, burglary, attempted rape, kidnapping and other offenses between 1995 and 2024. 

The cases spanned Wyandotte, Johnson and Franklin counties, according to KCTV.

A dramatic incident unfolded in the Seattle suburb of Issaquah, where a Costco employee allegedly used his vehicle as a weapon against a colleague. Reports indicate that the shocking altercation, fueled by animosity and jealousy, tragically resulted in the death of a young motorcyclist.

Legal proceedings are now underway for 22-year-old Tyler Sorensen, who faces charges of second-degree murder following the July 31 demise of Jonathon Langdon, also a Costco worker, aged 20.

As revealed in court documents accessed by News Media, the chain of events allegedly began when Sorensen tailed Langdon from the Costco parking lot and subsequently veered into his lane, intentionally colliding with Langdon’s motorcycle.

The collision was severe, launching Langdon from his bike and into a metal signpost, according to law enforcement. Although Sorensen initially fled the scene, he returned approximately an hour later, accompanied by a family member, to engage with investigators, as confirmed by the Issaquah Police Department.

Sorensen told his father that he “did something stupid” and had been in a collision but kept going. Once his father realized that Sorensen had left the scene of an accident, he drove his son back to the collision site an hour after the deadly incident, prosecutors said. 

Sorensen allegedly told investigators that he became jealous after seeing Langdon hug a female co-worker whom Sorensen claimed was his girlfriend. After seeing the hug, he texted friends that his “blood is boiling.”

Sorensen allegedly told investigators that he and the female co-worker had been in a relationship for about two to three months, which ended in late May. However, she told police that they had never dated and that she only considered him a friend and had repeatedly told him she “needed space” and that he was “crossing boundaries,” authorities said. 

Sorensen allegedly told law enforcement that his actions were “stupid” and that he only wanted to “spook” Langdon.

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victim as they process this tragic loss of life,” said Issaquah Police Chief Steve Mylett.

Is Hollywood facing a seismic shift? There’s buzz that David Ellison, the head of Paramount, might hitch up a massive U-Haul and move two of entertainment’s cornerstone studios out of California.

Ellison, Paramount’s top executive, has set ambitious sights on acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery in a deal worth a staggering $110 billion. However, with negotiations hitting a standstill, he’s issued a dramatic ultimatum—relocate his entertainment empire unless California Attorney General Rob Bonta starts merger talks by October 1, according to insider reports.

Such a bold move could see Warner Bros. also saying goodbye to its California roots. In what could be the most talked-about merger in recent history, Ellison is keen to make a decisive acquisition of this legendary studio.

But if the iconic studios do uproot, where are they headed? Ellison’s team hints at several potential destinations, with Texas, Nashville, and Georgia among the top contenders, alongside another as-yet-undisclosed state.

The Paramount board reportedly approved an exit strategy should the two sides stay far apart on settlement talks. That includes a five-year plan to move much of the studio out of state under this scenario.

Ellison may be going “all in” on the highest-stakes poker game in California, or this is a bluff for the ages. 

Either way, the latest revelations mark a dramatic escalation in a battle that already has the country’s undivided attention, not to mention La La Land’s.

We already know where Hollywood, Inc. stands on the deal. A-list stars like Benedict Cumberbatch, Ben Stiller, Emma Thompson, Glenn Close, Javier Bardem, Kristen Stewart and more have publicly spoken out against the merger.

They fear the consolidation will mean fewer movies and, by default, job losses across the board for their colleagues. The stars weren’t nearly as vocal when Netflix nearly sealed the deal on a Warner Bros. Discovery merger of its own.

The numbers behind the deal are staggering. Consider the $7 billion “breakup fee” if the merger doesn’t get done before June of 2027. Or the $500 million a year Paramount could save in taxes by bailing on California.

That could fund dozens of Paramount+ streaming originals.

That’s only a sample of the math in motion, and for an industry grappling with streaming churn, legacy franchise failures and the threat of AI, every dollar counts.

The merger’s cultural angle cannot be ignored, and it might explain the vitriol against elements of the deal. Some fear the Ellisons and their Trump ties could tilt chronically liberal Hollywood to the right. 

Would CNN’s left-leaning news brand survive an Ellison makeover? Might Bari Weiss, the groundbreaking news disruptor, do to CNN what she’s attempting to bring to CBS’ “60 Minutes,” as some fear? The merger ramifications expand beyond hard-news coverage.

Ellison’s Paramount craves more movies like “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Twisters,” stories with raw Heartland appeal. Paramount recently greenlit a “Days of Thunder” sequel more than 35 years after the NASCAR-based film’s debut.

That could mean a dampened appetite for films like 2025’s “One Battle After Another,” the Best Picture winner that glorified anti-government radicals.

The timing couldn’t be worse for California. Film and TV productions are already suffering in the current economic climate, bloodied by what they deem insufficient tax incentives, permitting bureaucracy, the high cost of living and competition from other states.

“Landman” creator Taylor Sheridan opened the largest film studio in Fort Worth, Texas, last year.

Texas offers “the space to dream big, the freedom to build fast, and a community that still believes storytelling matters,” Sheridan said at the time.

Does that sound like California in 2026?

The Tennessean called Nashville’s rising TV and movie productions akin to “Y’allywood,” powered by superstars like Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. And Superstar Mark Wahlberg is plotting a Las Vegas-based movie studio. 

Hollywood has been synonymous with California since the Nestor Film Company established the first film studio in the region. Local lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have been fighting to keep it that way, with mixed results, to be kind.

Losing one or both major studios would be nothing less than a Hollywood disaster film come to life.

In a gripping courtroom revelation, a mental health professional who cared for Lindsay Clancy has shared a telling exchange regarding her alleged mental health struggles that preceded a tragic incident. The nurse recounted a blunt dismissal from Lindsay’s husband after the possibility of bipolar disorder was raised.

Lindsay Clancy, who celebrated her 36th birthday earlier this week, is facing trial over the deaths of her three young children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan—who were aged five, three, and eight months, respectively. The horrifying events unfolded in January 2023 at the Clancy family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, residence.

Though Clancy’s subsequent suicide attempt did not succeed, it left her permanently paralyzed. She now navigates life in a wheelchair, adding another layer to the complex narrative of this case.

Testifying on Tuesday, Rebecca Jollotta, a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner involved in Clancy’s treatment, revealed a critical interaction with Patrick, Lindsay’s former husband. During a December 2022 session, Jollotta mentioned the possibility of bipolar disorder, only for Patrick to swiftly dismiss the suggestion.

Jollotta elaborated that her suggestion was informed by Lindsay’s reaction to Zoloft, a common antidepressant. She advised the couple that Lindsay might have an underlying bipolar condition, underscoring the potential complexities in her mental health profile.

‘My wife is not bipolar,’ Patrick responded, according to Jollotta.

The nurse said that Clancy just looked at her but said nothing.

Clancy has pleaded not guilty to the murder charges and claimed she is not responsible for her actions because she was suffering postpartum psychosis after being prescribed a powerful cocktail of drugs to cope with depression.

The prosecution has argued the killings were intentional and well planned, not the work of someone who had lost control. 

The murder trial has been filled with emotional testimony, including from Patrick, who has since remarried. 

On the day of the killings, Clancy asked Patrick to leave their home to get takeout food and to pick up something at a pharmacy.

Clancy allegedly strangled the children with exercise bands, then used multiple methods to try to end her own life.

Jurors heard Patrick’s harrowing 911 call the night he discovered their dead children, which brought the courtroom to tears. 

He has publicly forgiven her and come out in her defense, describing her as a good mother who became ill.

Both Patrick and Lindsay Clancy have filed separate lawsuits against several of her medical providers, including Jollotta, alleging that they overmedicated Clancy while treating her for postpartum mental health issues.

This overmedication led to her conditions worsening, and ultimately to the deaths of the children, the suits allege.

The civil suits are still making their way through the courts.
