In a heart-wrenching search operation, rescuers in New Jersey are tirelessly looking for a 10-year-old girl after they discovered her brother’s body in the Passaic River late Wednesday, Passaic Mayor Hector Lora informed the media.

“We are focused on recovering the girl, but there’s a sliver of hope that she might still be alive,” Lora shared with FOX 5 New York during an interview.

Expressing a hopeful yet heartrending thought, Lora pondered whether the late boy might have managed to help his sister reach safety before it was too late for him.

“As the boy went under, it’s almost like an angelic force or divine intervention might have allowed him to push his sister to safety, hoping she’s now safe at home, while his mother endures the loss of her son,” Lora said.

Lora also told reporters that calls for help came in around 6:20 p.m. local time Wednesday after bystanders saw three children in the water, according to FOX 5.

A good Samaritan unsuccessfully tried to help the children out of the water, the outlet reported.

Search and rescue operations were ongoing into Thursday morning. The efforts were hampered in part by high water levels due to recent storms.

The search and rescue operations included members of the the Passaic Police Department, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office and the New Jersey State Police.

Is Hunter Greene’s future with the Reds uncertain?

The Cincinnati Reds have been receiving notable attention regarding starting pitcher Hunter Greene, who is currently signed for $15 million next season, with his contract extending to $16 million in 2028, reports The Athletic.

Although there is no strong indication from the Reds that they are eager to trade Greene, moving him could provide a strategic advantage at the upcoming trade deadline. This move seems all the more plausible given that an exchange involving Elly De La Cruz appears even less feasible.

Among the Reds’ roster, other potential trade assets include players like Brady Singer and Nathaniel Lowe, both on expiring contracts. However, these trades are unlikely to bring the same level of return as Greene might command.

Hunter Greene’s performance was hampered earlier this year due to an elbow surgery that sidelined him for the first three months of the 2026 season. Since his return, he has shown varied performance across his initial four starts.

His first appearance of the season saw him give up eight earned runs in 3 1/3 innings, while he followed that with seven innings of three-hit ball with 12 strikeouts.

Greene surrendered three runs over six innings against the Rockies on July 19, and his latest start last week he lasted 5 1/3 innings with seven runs against — six earned.

He currently sports a 7.06 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. 

Generally, Greene has been a reliable starter for the Reds across four years prior, overpowering hitters by consistently topping 100 miles per hour. 

In 2024, he had a 2.75 ERA in 150 innings while racking up 169 strikeouts.

Last season, albeit in fewer starts, he recorded a 2.76 ERA with 132 strikeouts. 

Over the last two seasons, Greene has a 2.29 ERA in 13 starts at Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark and 5.33 ERA in 10 road starts.

Outside of Tarik Skubal, Greene may be the best starting pitcher on the market for teams come the trade deadline, giving clubs like the Brewers and Braves a chance to pounce if the Dodgers land Skubal. 

Despite starting the season 20-11, the Reds have remained outside the hunt in the NL Wild Card race for much of the season, entering Thursday’s slate 50-57 and six games back of the third and final spot. 

If Greene were to be traded, second-year starter Chase Burns would become the centerpiece of the Reds’ rotation. 

Burns has a 2.40 ERA in 112 innings this year. 

A Brazilian psychic, Athos Salomé, is stirring global unease with a forewarning that escalating international tensions are nearing a critical threshold.

At 39, Salomé has earned the moniker ‘Living Nostradamus,’ having previously claimed foresight into pivotal events like the Microsoft global outage, the COVID-19 pandemic, and even the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

He now alleges the materialization of two additional prophecies in 2026: a burgeoning conflict between Iran and Israel, alongside Spain’s triumph in the World Cup.

Salomé also recalls an alarming prediction he made in December, suggesting the potential for Russia and NATO to clash within the Arctic Circle’s fragile boundaries.

Speaking to Tyla, Salomé cautioned that the Arctic could become a hotspot of danger as melting ice paves the way for new shipping lanes and reveals untapped energy resources.

The prediction came before NATO launched its Arctic Sentry operation and before recent reports that Russia was moving missile systems into strategic locations across the region.

Russia has since continued expanding its military presence in the Arctic, while NATO is deploying thousands more troops there.

Salomé believes those developments have increased the risk of a confrontation during this year’s ice melt.

Salomé published a list of 10 predictions for 2026 in December last year.

One warned that tensions in the Middle East would reach a critical point during the second quarter of the year, driven by disputes over Iran’s uranium enrichment program.

He now claims the conflict between Iran and Israel fulfilled that prediction.

Salomé has also taken credit for Spain’s World Cup victory after forecasting that the winning country would wear colors associated with fire.

However, his prediction included several possible winners: Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, France, Morocco, Argentina and England.

After Spain defeated Argentina 1-0, Salomé claimed the result matched his forecast because he had previously identified Spain as the most likely champion.

With those two apparent hits behind him, Salomé has now returned to one of his more alarming forecasts for 2026: a potential confrontation between Russia and NATO in the Arctic.

He believes the threat is growing as melting ice exposes new shipping routes and energy reserves, intensifying the struggle for control of the region.

He also identified Africa’s Sahel region as another potential flashpoint, warning that extremist groups in northern Niger could draw rival powers into an indirect struggle for influence following the withdrawal of Western troops, Tyla reported. 

At the end of 2025, Salomé released a series of ominous predictions for the year ahead, warning that global conflicts would drag on without clear winners while cyberattacks, disease outbreaks and natural disasters intensified.

The Brazilian mystic predicted that the war between Russia and Ukraine would remain locked in a prolonged stalemate, with both sides advancing and retreating without agreeing to a formal peace treaty.

He also warned European countries to remain vigilant, claiming efforts to rebuild damaged areas could be disrupted by further attacks.

In East Asia, Salomé predicted mounting tensions between China and Taiwan would stop short of a full-scale invasion but develop into a drawn-out campaign involving blockades, cyberattacks, financial pressure and disruption to semiconductor supplies.

He claimed the goal would be to wear down China’s opponents and test international boundaries without triggering an all-out war.

Salomé also identified West Africa and the Sahel as major flashpoints, forecasting continued instability, terrorism and mass displacement across Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

He warned that worsening violence and weak governments could force more people toward Europe and the Middle East while placing additional pressure on food supplies and security.

Cybercrime was another major theme in his predictions. Salomé forecast attacks targeting energy, water and communications infrastructure in major cities across North America and Western Europe.

He also warned that major events, including the World Cup, could become targets for hackers seeking to create political and economic chaos.

In public health, Salomé predicted further outbreaks of bird flu, dengue and mpox, warning that exhausted hospitals and strained international funding could leave countries struggling to respond.

He also forecast increased concern over artificial intelligence, including deepfakes, financial scams and mass surveillance, forcing governments to accelerate regulation.

Finally, Salomé warned that climate change would fuel severe heatwaves across southern Europe, flooding in Southeast Asia, drought in Brazil and worsening water shortages across the Middle East and North Africa.

Salomé said he develops his forecasts by combining symbolic analysis, long-term global patterns and his study of Kabbalah, an ancient Jewish mystical tradition.

He searches for recurring cycles and coincidences before comparing them with current events.

However, Salomé acknowledged that his methods are not foolproof and described his predictions as interpretations rather than certainties.

In a dire encounter high above Montana’s jagged landscape, David Cifaldi and his two companions braved peril on the foreboding Froze-to-Death Plateau. As they neared the summit of Montana’s highest pinnacle, the unpredictable wild demanded its toll—Cifaldi tumbled and, incredibly, found himself pierced by his own trekking pole.

The trekking pole, a formidable 44 inches (112 centimeters) of steel-tipped severity, tore through the meat beneath Cifaldi’s left arm, miraculously dodging any vital organs, and jutted dramatically from his back. After weighing their options, and noting the staggering expense of a helicopter evacuation, Cifaldi resolved that his salvation had to be in his own hands.

“We’ve got to get off this mountain,” Cifaldi recalled urging his concerned friends, even as they wavered in doubt. His reassurance was almost flippant. “I’m pretty confident this is outside my chest wall. ‘Tis but a flesh wound,” he added, channeling a steely resolve.

The 32-year-old, who harbors expertise as a nurse specializing in wound care at Billings, Montana’s hospital, conducted a thorough self-check. His spirits were intact; discomfort and bleeding were minimal, and, crucially, the pole was static. Equipped with a Garmin inReach, they coordinated a plan with local authorities through satellite communication, settling on a courageous self-rescue mission.

With determination, they commenced their descent. The trio traversed across unmarked paths, maneuvering cautiously over boulders and snow-laden fields, before finally beating a trail through the dense thickets to reach an established path, moving one step closer to safety.

After more than six hours in which they traveled about 10 miles (16 kilometers) and descended roughly 5,000 feet (1,500 meters), the group reached a trailhead where one of them, Cifaldi’s friend Jesse Ross, had parked a vehicle.

“The only reason it was possible at all was his confidence,” Ross recalled. “Who are we to say anything? He’s the medical person. Our job is just to support at that point.”

Cifaldi had long wanted to climb Granite Peak. At 12,800 feet (3,900 meters), Montana’s tallest mountain is prone to unpredictable weather including dangerous lightning storms and bitter cold. Hundreds of people annually try to reach the rocky summit; many come up short. In 2019, authorities said a 65-year-old Minnesota man who was an experienced climber fell about 150 feet (45 meters) to his death after reaching nearly the top of Granite Peak with his son.

As Cifaldi and his companions started hiking out, the pole awkwardly sticking out of his side, Stillwater County Search and Rescue team commander Ty Williams monitored the group’s progress via a dispatcher who took calls from the group.

The first call came in at 9:44 a.m. on July 20, right after Cifaldi impaled himself. At 1:30 p.m. the trio said they were getting closer to the trailhead and to let the nearest hospital know they were coming, Williams said.

“There was no danger to anybody else. He didn’t want our help and so we’re not going to essentially violate his rights or go against his wishes by forcing our help on him,” Williams said.

By about 3:30 p.m. the hikers were in Ross’ vehicle headed to the nearest clinic, Cifaldi said.

When they arrived, they were told Cifaldi needed more advanced treatment in Billings. So they got back in Ross’ truck and kept driving to the hospital where he works, St. Vincent Regional Hospital.

Doctors removed the pole, bandaged him up and Cifaldi was back at work this week.

“I think 99 times out of a hundred I would make the same decision,” Cifaldi said as he sat in Ross’ front yard in Billings. “Search and rescue coming to help you is free. The flight’s not. That was a factor in me deciding to self-rescue. But the fact that I had two experienced great friends with me and we had the ability to contact search and rescue if something went wrong made that a lot more of an easy decision.”

A mother of 16 children, recently detained in a troubling case, was visibly anxious as she entered jail. A newly released video reveals her attempting to conceal an enigmatic mark on her arm during her booking process.

Elizabeth Siders, age 33, appeared apprehensive and obedient as officers at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail processed her on July 1. The video, acquired by Plunder True Crime, captures her, along with her husband and in-laws, living in deplorable conditions with their children.

Dressed in a loose-fitting red T-shirt, sweatpants, and orange flip-flops, Siders maintained a submissive posture, dutifully following the officers’ instructions. Throughout the silent footage, she repeatedly touched and attempted to obscure a distinctive dark mark on her left arm.

In a separate clip provided by the same source, Siders, visibly uncomfortable and jittery, is seen in an orange jumpsuit. She sits alone in a room before an officer’s desk, fidgeting uneasily.

The video further shows her persistently fussing over the unexplained mark on her forearm, even going so far as to rub it against her pant leg in an apparent effort to erase or hide it.

Siders’ attorney did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Elizabeth Siders, her husband Gary Siders Jr., 37, her mother-in-law Christina Siders, 67, and father-in-law Gary Siders Sr., 73, were arrested after authorities descended on their home in Southeastern Ohio and found the 16 children, who police said “looked like almost feral animals.”

The kids, who are between 18 months and 18 years old, were living in a trash and feces-filled room, confined to the cramped space for at least the past four years, according to authorities, who have described the grisly scene as “deplorable” and “third-world.”

Siders has “absolutely” denied that her children, who never attended school, were “feral” and claimed that they all could speak, despite initial reports suggesting they could not communicate.

The children were taken to hospitals across Ohio after the June 30 rescue. Some were listed in serious condition, including two who were airlifted to trauma centers and at least one who had to be intubated, officials said. 

Siders, her husband, and her in-laws were each slapped with 16 counts of felony child endangerment charges. She is currently being held on a $300,000 bond.

The music mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, will now be seeing the light of freedom a month sooner than expected, despite being involved in a prison altercation that earned him a stint in solitary confinement.

Following a highly publicized court battle, 56-year-old Diddy was cleared of the gravest accusations, including sex trafficking and racketeering, in July last year. Nevertheless, the jury found him guilty of lesser offenses related to transportation for prostitution.

Originally, Diddy’s sentence was to conclude on May 8, 2028. However, it was extended to June 4, 2028, following claims—vigorously denied by his legal team—that he indulged in moonshine and made an unauthorized three-way call.

His situation improved last October, thanks to the provisions of the FIRST STEP Act. This piece of legislation, pushed for during Donald Trump’s presidency and notably supported by Kim Kardashian, has facilitated the early release of numerous inmates, bringing Diddy’s release date forward to April 25, 2028.

Adjustments continued as his release date was further revised to April 15, 2028. Just last month, it was announced that his sentence had been reduced even more, with freedom now slated for February 23, 2028.

Now, yet another change has been made, and Diddy is slated to emerge from jail on January 24, 2028, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records.

In response to an inquiry from the Daily Mail, the Federal Bureau of Prisons stated: ‘For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including release plans or specifics regarding why a release date changes.’ 

The Daily Mail has contacted Diddy’s representative for comment.

News of the modification circulated a week after Diddy got into a fight with another inmate at New Jersey’s Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), Fort Dix.

Multiple sources claimed the disgraced rap mogul lashed out at the other inmate after he insulted the rap mogul, according to TMZ. 

A spokesman for FCI Fort Dix declined to share information about the alleged incident.

‘For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions,’ the representative told the Daily Mail.

Sources claimed that Diddy and the other inmate began pushing each other at first, before punches started flying between the two.

Diddy was said to have ‘held his own’ in the fight, though guards quickly separated the men and Diddy was reportedly sent to solitary confinement in response to the brawl.

The latest conflict for Diddy comes after a disturbing clip resurfaced that showed him inviting the late child star Daveigh Chase, then 12, to an ‘afterparty.’

The clip went viral in the wake of the Donny Darko actress’s death from AIDS last month.

Chase, who previously appeared in the 2003 horror film The Ring, died in hospital from acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), the most advanced stage of HIV infection, on June 16.

Following her death, a one-minute clip from the 2003 MTV Movie Awards began circulating again on social media and showed Daveigh being presented with the award for Best Villain by Diddy, who was 33 at the time.

Diddy was previously found guilty of two counts of transportation for prostitution in violation of the federal Mann Act. 

In October 2025, he was sentenced to four years and two months in federal prison, along with five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine.

In the clip, which was filmed backstage after the awards, Diddy is seen speaking with Chase and asking whether she is ‘coming to the after-party tonight.’

Chase nods in response, after which Combs reacts with laughter and an audible ‘Yeah!’

The clip has sparked huge backlash online, with many users sharing their reactions in the comments to a version posted on Reddit.

They wrote: ‘God, please keep your kids away from the entertainment industry. Vultures in human form. She’s a child. 

‘Why have these 2 men with her on the podium at all? It could be given by someone her own age or an older teen.’

‘This is so incredibly disturbing.

‘I’d also like to point out that Daveigh was so talented – she scared the absolute s**t out of me as a child. 

‘The Ring will forever be one of the greatest horror flicks ever, and that is largely because of her performance. I’m very sorry that her life ended the way it did, and that she was evidently surrounded by creeps from a young age.

‘Hindsight is 20/20. Shewww.’

A representative for Combs previously addressed the resurfaced footage in a statement to Page Six in 2024, denying wrongdoing and describing the exchange as misinterpreted.

‘It’s disappointing to see the media and social media commentators twist moments into something they were not,’ the statement said.

The team maintained that the interaction was part of a scripted onstage segment and not inappropriate in nature.

Chase never publicly commented on the clip.

It has not been confirmed whether Chase attended the after-party in 2003 or any other events hosted by Diddy.

The actress died in hospital from acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), per an autopsy report by the LA County Medical Examiner.

Chronic polysubstance use – the repeated use of more than one drug over a short period of time – was also listed as a significant condition contributing to her death.

Her manner of death is listed as natural. 

Chase found fame as a child star in 2002 with her haunting portrayal of Samara Morgan in The Ring.

She later appeared in a number of film and television projects, including Lilo & Stitch, Donnie Darko, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, ER, and Big Love.

She gradually stepped back from the public eye after 2013, with her final social media activity in 2017 and her last red carpet appearance at a Vogue dinner in April 2013.

Over the following years, she had several reported run-ins with the law, including an arrest in 2017 in Los Angeles in connection with joyriding in a stolen vehicle.

In a tragic premonition of her own death, she was questioned in 2017 after dropping an unconscious man off outside a hospital and driving away. He later died of a drug overdose. 

Roy Hernandez, Chase’s partner, said the pair were homeless in the years before her death.

In one of his fundraisers, Hernandez pleaded: ‘Daveigh Chase, my girlfriend, has always been a light in my life… But behind the scenes, she’s faced more than her share of hardship.’

‘After a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA. When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. 

‘Together, we found moments of happiness and hope.’

He continued: ‘Recently, everything changed. Daveigh was diagnosed with meningitis and several serious blood infections. 

‘Her condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left. All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy. 

‘Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days.

‘I understand we all go through things, but if you can help, I will be really grateful for anything.’

Hernandez confirmed her death earlier this month, revealing a painful health battle that involved meningitis, a blood infection and sepsis.

Chase was first admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles in early June.

Prior to her death, Chase had reportedly been out of contact for an extended period, prompting concern from her manager John Ryan and her stepsister Gaia Brown, who had been attempting to locate her for several years.

Heartbreaking footage, circulated online but later deleted, appeared to show the actress emaciated and barely conscious inside a makeshift shelter on Skid Row – her ribs visible, her body shockingly gaunt, according to reports. 

Sources claimed she may have weighed as little as 75 pounds.

Speaking to the California Post, Ryan said their search eventually led them to Skid Row, where he believed Chase may have been staying.

He added that he had previously managed to speak with her by phone and arranged to meet her in person.

Ryan said the initial plan had been to support Chase in regaining her health, with arrangements being explored for possible rehabilitation support in Costa Rica once she was well enough to travel.

However, he said the situation had changed by the time they arrived, claiming she could not be located.

‘We were so close to finding her,’ he said. ‘Daveigh was the sweetest and brightest light in Hollywood. I can’t believe this is real. Her legacy and work will live on forever.’
