Sheriff Reveals New Clues: Disguises Fail in Month-Long Hunt for Accused Killer

0

Officials from a Florida sheriff’s department have unveiled fresh identifying features of a murder suspect who remains at large, accused of killing a man whose body was discovered in a shallow grave. The suspect is believed to have possibly changed her hair and appearance as a relentless month-long pursuit continues.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for 38-year-old Isabelle Johnson, linked to the murder of Jason Coulthart, 43. Coulthart’s remains were unearthed on June 25 on a Freeport property, suggesting a horrifying tale of crime and mystery.

“We’ve been searching for Isabelle Johnson for a month, and our efforts are far from over,” the agency proclaimed in a renewed plea for information from the public.

Detectives now suspect that Johnson has several unique tattoos that could help the public recognize her, regardless of attempts she might make to change her appearance.

She is believed to have a rose or flower tattoo on her left hand, beginning below the thumb and extending toward the index finger, according to the sheriff’s office. She also appears to have an unidentified tattoo on her right ankle and a large scorpion tattoo extending from her left buttock down her left thigh.

Authorities believe Johnson may have dyed and cut her hair in an effort to alter her appearance.

The sheriff’s office once again invoked the aliases Johnson is believed to use.

“Today, we’re releasing additional identifying features belonging to Isabelle, or Jessica, or Harley, or whatever name she’s going by today,” the agency wrote.

Johnson has previously been linked to several aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy and possibly “Denise.”

Authorities say she has ties to Walton and Okaloosa counties in Florida, parts of Georgia and lower Alabama.

Investigators have also warned that she may manipulate people into providing transportation, money or shelter by using stories involving domestic violence or other hardships.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has described Johnson as “cunning” and a “master manipulator,” while urging anyone who may be helping her to stop.

“Every lead is pursued. Every tip is investigated. Every day brings us one step closer,” the agency wrote. “Someone knows where she is.”

Coulthart was reported missing May 24 after he was last seen leaving the College Condominiums on East College Boulevard in Niceville.

During the missing-person investigation, detectives developed information that led authorities to a property off Sunset Lane in Freeport. Investigators obtained a search warrant and found Coulthart’s body buried in a shallow grave that evening, according to the sheriff’s office.

The District 1 Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the remains through DNA testing.

Five people have since been arrested in connection with the case. Michael Ray White, Kathleen Morris, Bobbi Wagstaff, Martin Leaverton and Sandra Leaverton have been charged with accessory to a capital felony after the fact.

Authorities previously alleged that White knowingly helped Johnson evade law enforcement, while Morris admitted providing Johnson with transportation and supplies and misleading investigators about whether she had been at her home, according to local reporting.

Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson has warned that anyone still helping Johnson hide could also face charges.

“If you give her a place to stay, help her hide, or lie for her, you will face consequences,” Adkinson said previously. “This is a homicide case. We will not allow anyone to get in the way of this investigation.”

A combined reward of up to $16,000 remains available for information leading to Johnson’s arrest.

News Media reached out to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office seeking any additional updates on the investigation.

The sheriff’s office ended its latest appeal with a warning aimed at Johnson.

“She can keep running. We won’t stop looking,” the agency wrote. “We know who will get tired first.”

San Francisco’s Murder Rate Climbs as National Homicides Fall

San Francisco has experienced a significant surge in homicides this year, a troubling anomaly amid a historic nationwide decrease in murder rates.

Police investigating a shooting in the Young Terrace neighborhood of Norfolk, Virginia.

San Francisco’s murder rate increased 55% over the first six months of the year compared to 2025, according to a new report. TNS

Notably, this iconic city, renowned for its Golden Gate views, is one of only eight large urban areas to report a rise in homicides during the initial six months of 2026, according to data from the Council on Criminal Justice.

San Francisco’s murder rate jumped by a staggering 55% in the first half of the year compared to 2025, surpassed only by Norfolk, Virginia, which experienced an even greater increase of 64%.

These alarming statistics come in stark contrast to a broader national trend; last year, the United States recorded its sharpest year-over-year decline in homicides on record, with a drop of 20% since 2024, potentially marking the lowest murder rates since the year 1900.

On average, homicide rates fell by 18% during the first six months of the year across 21 of the 30 major cities evaluated by the Washington DC-based nonprofit organization, creating a puzzling divergence for San Francisco.

San Francisco police, however, have disputed the figures — stating that there have been 16 homicides so far this year compared to 12 during the same period last year, a spokesperson told CBS News.

The majority of the 16 killings involved firearms, according to police data.

Police noted that the city ended last year with its lowest homicide rate in 70 years.

“We recognize that homicides have increased slightly this year compared to last year. Even one homicide is one too many, and the SFPD will continue to make these crimes our top priority,” a police spokesperson said.

Police data has shown so far that all other categories of crime have gone down this year, from property crimes to vehicle thefts.

Yet homicides have remained stubbornly higher in 2026, with most occurring during the first three months of the year.

The uptick has largely been seen in the SFPD’s Southern District, which includes the Embarcadero, Mission Bay and Treasure Island, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The area has recorded six homicides so far this year compared to none last year.

Police Chief Derrick Lew said at a recent meeting that new homicides are harder to tackle because they “are more one-off in nature,” unlike gang-related killings, for example.

Nicole Kidman Spotted in Cozy Embrace with Mystery Businessman

“I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” declared Nicole Kidman, striking an optimistic note in March as she spoke publicly for the first time about her split from Keith Urban, 58, following the end of their marriage.

Thus, her words encapsulated the conclusion of a 19-year relationship, now irrevocably altered.

Seven months have passed since their unexpected breakup, and it appears Kidman is now moving in a positive direction.

The 59-year-old actress, known for her Australian roots, recently spent time on the picturesque Italian Riviera, accompanied by a charming companion with distinguished grey hair.

The 59-year-old Australian actress has spent the last week in the Italian riviera with a wealthy silver fox.

The two were seen sipping Aperol Spritz under the shade of poolside umbrellas at the Belmond Splendido hotel in Portofino this week, luxuriating in the afternoon heat in plain view of other hotel guests.

Exclusive photographs obtained by the Daily Mail show the grey-haired hunk, understood to be private equity businessman Michael Reinstein, giggling with Kidman before playfully lifting up her hat, which shielded her porcelain skin from the Italian sun.

Neither Kidman nor Reinstein has commented publicly on their poolside outing.

While Urban is recognizable around the world, Reinstein is a virtual unknown, blending into the background with his world-famous travel companion.

However, the pair didn’t appear concerned about being spotted together by other hotel guests.

Reinstein seemed delighted to join Kidman on the summer trip, walking behind her as they made their way back into the Portofino hotel after their aperitivos.

A source close to Kidman tells the Daily Mail: ‘After everything she went through with Keith, she deserves to find happiness. She never thought her marriage wouldn’t work out and she tried as best as she could to keep her family intact. Her daughters are her best friends, and she seems really content in her life. She’s so easy to get along with and kind. She keeps her personal life extremely private.’

We have contacted Kidman’s representatives for comment and have yet to hear back.

It’s a family trip to Italy for Kidman. Her daughters, Sunday, 18, and Faith, 15, who she shares with Urban, are also there.

The girls were said to have cut ties with their father briefly earlier this year before reconciling.

Earlier this week, Kidman was pictured on a luxury yacht, celebrating her younger sister Antonia’s 55th birthday while taking in the idyllic views of the Italian Riviera.

They were joined by Antonia’s husband Craig Marran and their daughter Sybella Hawley as well as Dr Rick Abramson, a close family friend.

Just days earlier, Kidman was in London, attending a Wimbledon tennis match and mingling with Anna Wintour in the Royal Box.

Kidman shocked the world when she announced the end of her marriage to Keith Urban late last year

Kidman shocked the world when she announced the end of her marriage to Keith Urban late last year

Last month, reports surfaced that Kidman was rumored to be in a secret relationship.

According to celebrity gossip site DeuxMoi, Kidman was enjoying dating a ‘high-profile businessman,’ though the pair were still reportedly taking things slow at the time.

‘We’re told the relationship has been quietly developing for the past few months and the pair have been keeping things extremely low-key and largely out of the public eye,’ an insider told the gossip site.

And earlier this year, TMZ reported the Oscar winner was being romantically pursued by Paul Salem, 62, the Chairman of the Board of MGM Resorts International.

The publication reported Kidman and Paul share mutual friends, are acquaintances, and have met twice in group settings. The outlet clarified that they were not dating at the time, however.

Kidman also sparked romance rumors with fellow Aussie actor Simon Baker, 56, earlier this year, following their flirtatious promotion of their thriller series Scarpetta.

Kidman and Baker, who play a married couple in Scarpetta, were seen holding hands and beaming together at the show’s New York premiere in March.

Urban was said to be devastated by the rumored romance, given how quickly she appeared to be moving on from their separation.

‘Seeing Nicole and Simon holding hands was the equivalent of seeing his best mate with his missus, and it did a number on him,’ an insider told Woman’s Day magazine.

‘He knew it was natural for her to lean on Simon – he was also there for Naomi Watts after her split from Liev [Schreiber].’

The source added that Urban was seriously hoping that Kidman and Baker were just having fun for the cameras, as a genuine romance between them would devastate him.

The actress has been close to Baker for decades, and is also good friends with his ex-wife Rebecca Rigg, from whom he separated in 2020.

Amid all the speculation, a source insisted to Page Six that the romance claims are ‘absolutely false,’ noting the two have simply ‘known each other for years and are good friends.’

Kidman filed for divorce from Urban in September last year after almost two decades of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in January.

Under their settlement, Kidman retained primary custody of the couple’s daughters.

She has the girls for 306 days of the year, while Urban is allocated 59, including Thanksgiving.

Kidman was previously married to Top Gun star Tom Cruise, 64, from 1990 to 2001, with the former couple sharing adopted children Isabella, 33, and Connor, 31.

Last year, it was initially reported that Urban had been the one to instigate the end of their marriage, leaving Kidman ‘blindsided.’

But a source told the Daily Mail in April: ‘Keith and Nicole always had an interesting marriage.

‘They both worked a ton and were gone a lot, especially Keith, so the girls didn’t spend nearly as much time with him. He was always touring.

‘Nicole always juggled a bunch of projects, but she was around them more. There wasn’t a ton of family time together, so it makes total sense that they are closer to their mother through all of this. They were never as close with their dad to begin with.’

Indeed, Sunday Rose has since publicly praised her mother.

In a March cover interview with Elle Australia magazine, she dubbed Kidman her ‘biggest inspiration in life’ and credited the actress for her burgeoning career as a model.

She added that her mother’s influence extended beyond work, gushing that Kidman was ‘a key part of everything I do.’

Kidman said of her daughters in a live speaking event in Philadelphia the following month: ‘We’re so close, the three of us, we talk about everything.’

An insider told the Daily Mail that Urban does not have a bad word to say about his ex’s tight-knit relationship with their daughters.

‘Keith has said that Nicole has been great during all of this,’ the insider said.

‘But the girls are young, they’re hurt, and they have to choose sides in their minds. So, they have chosen Mom.

‘Obviously, Keith is not a perfect man – nobody is. But whatever his issues between him and Nicole are, he still loves his daughters very much. For them to cut him out is really hurtful.’

ASO Detective Cracks Vehicle Burglary Case with Leads from Nearby Incident

0

Staff report

WALDO, Fla. – Authorities have charged 19-year-old Justin Lavelle Bolton Jr. of Waldo with the theft of firearms and credit cards from vehicles during two separate incidents in November 2025 and January 2026.

On January 26, law enforcement officials from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from victims in Waldo who reported their vehicles had been targeted. Stolen items included a purse, a credit card, and several firearms. The stolen credit card was later used in multiple unauthorized CashApp and Amazon transactions.

In a breakthrough in the investigation, detectives in June received subpoenaed information from CashApp, initially requested in February. This revealed that the CashApp account linked to the fraudulent transactions belonged to Justin Bolton. On January 26, his account showed five failed attempts to transfer funds from the victim’s credit card, as well as another unsuccessful attempt to send money to a different account.

Further investigation into local burglary reports uncovered an incident from November 2025 where another victim reported her wallet missing. She had a tracker inside it that led detectives to an address in Waldo, which turned out to be Bolton’s residence, thus connecting him to that crime as well.

On July 20, the detective went to Bolton’s address in Waldo, but he learned that Bolton was at a residence in Hawthorne, and Bolton was subsequently arrested at that residence.

Bolton has been charged with two counts of armed burglary of a vehicle, four counts of grand theft of a firearm, and two counts of attempted theft of a debit/credit card (one each for the November and January burglaries). He has no criminal convictions, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $255,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Rhode Island State Rep’s Fiery Comments Stir Tensions with ICE

0

A Rhode Island Democrat state legislator recently caused a stir by posting a perceived threat aimed at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on social media. He promised a “day of reckoning” for the agents, whom he referred to using a profanity-laden term.

State Representative Enrique Sanchez issued this bold statement on his X account, where he also confessed to being highly disturbed by current U.S. immigration policies.

“Working against ICE since last year has severely impacted my mental state as I strive to protect and defend countless members of our community in Providence and throughout Rhode Island,” Sanchez declared.

He further asserted, “Your day of reckoning will come, I swear to god.” This aggressive remark underscored his frustration.

Despite the heated nature of his post, Sanchez has not removed it nor issued any additional statements addressing the controversy it sparked.

This is far from the first time Sanchez has disgorged hatred against ICE on social media. In 2025, the state GOP called for the representative to be censured for his constant, violence-tinged attacks on ICE.

State Republicans noted that Sanchez constantly called U.S. immigration officers “Nazis” and “thugs” and blasted him for attending picket lines where he tried to provoke ICE agents and interfere with their law enforcement duties.

Sanchez was also arrested for drunk driving in February of last year, but was ultimately let off the hook by prosecutors after a behind-the-scenes deal was made allowing him to plead guilty to a minor offense.

According to the left-wing American Immigration Council, immigrants account for nearly 15 percent of the population in Rhode Island, and yet they make up nearly 17 percent of the state’s workforce.

Adopted Scot Angharad Evans Aims for Commonwealth Gold After Career Revival in Stirling

0

Angharad Evans initially believed her relocation to Scotland would mark the end of her swimming career. Instead, it became the catalyst for an unexpected revival.

The promising breaststroke swimmer had originally planned her breakthrough in the United States, enrolling at the University of Georgia at just 18. However, after only 18 months, she returned to the UK, admitting that it “definitely wasn’t the place for me.”

Encouraged to try again closer to home, the athlete from Cambridge made a bold move in January 2023. She enrolled as a business and management student at the University of Stirling, benefiting from a sports scholarship, and became a member of Scotland’s National Swimming Academy.

Expressing gratitude, Evans acknowledges Stirling’s significant role in her resurgence. As a testament to this, she’ll dive into the Tollcross pool in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games, proudly representing Team Scotland instead of her English or Welsh roots.

“I moved to Stirling just to start enjoying swimming again,” she shares. “I was at the end of my career and just wanted to enjoy my last few months swimming. And instead it ended up being the start of my journey.”

Angharad Evans will proudly represent Scotland despite her English and Welsh roots

Angharad Evans will proudly represent Scotland despite her English and Welsh roots

‘I’m a completely different athlete now to when I first joined. I remember being sat in a meeting and my coach, Brad Hay, asked me what my ultimate goals were. And I said two things: to enjoy the sport again, because I really, really wasn’t when I moved back from the States. And I needed to be in a senior team at some point in my life. And now I’ve done both those things and more.

‘I went from watching people on the TV to being in the call room with those same people that I looked up to very, very quickly. I didn’t have the experience everyone else has and they [the coaches] supported me through the journey.

‘They’ve shown me that goals should never end. As soon as you achieve one goal, there’s the next one lined up waiting for you. And they’ve really helped me with my mindset too.

‘If it wasn’t for the staff and the team at Stirling, I wouldn’t be on this [Scotland] team. And it just wouldn’t feel right to then compete for England and not have the coaches with me that got me to where I was and the teammates that I train with every single day.

‘So, representing Scotland was sort of a no-brainer for me. What they’ve done for me as an athlete is really special. I’m excited to step up and represent them. I’m representing myself but also a team that stands behind me in Stirling and supports me every single day. And that means a lot.’

The chance to compete at a home Commonwealth Games is relatively rare, which is also part of the attraction for Evans who is keen to experience the noise and clamour of a Scottish crowd in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke.

‘I think there’s just this buzz on the team knowing that it is a home Games,’ she reveals. ‘People have shared stories of Glasgow 2014 and just how amazing the crowd were there. So I think that adds to the excitement.

Evans and the rest of the Stirling University swimmers are waved off from Bridge of Allan

‘And we want to make our country proud and bring back some medals. People might not be swimming fans up in the crowd but they’re Scotland fans. And if they see that Scottish flag on your hat, they’ll stand up and support you. And I think that’s a special thing.’

Evans is an accomplished international competitor now. She competed in her first senior world championships last year and earlier this year lowered both her 100m and 200m British records. With the European championships following on immediately after these Commonwealth Games, how is she treating this one?

‘I’m trying to view it more as a fun one,’ she adds. ‘But that’s not to say it won’t be competitive because every single race is going to be a fight to get to the next round, to the semi-finals and to the finals. I think if I put too much pressure on it, that is when I crack. That’s why this season has been so good because I haven’t really put too much pressure on myself.

‘I’ve just enjoyed every single race. And I think I’d be a fool to not stand in front of a home crowd in my home nation and not just have fun with it.

‘When I’m a happy swimmer, I’m a fast swimmer. I need to just remember that, take a breath before I race and just realise what a great opportunity it is.

‘Everyone wants a gold medal. Everyone wants a personal best time. So, yeah, I think it will be a mixture for sure.’

You don’t spend three-and-a-half years in another country as a student without it infiltrating your personality at least to some extent and Evans confirms she’s been as content outside of the pool as she is in it. The university campus is set in the Stirlingshire countryside just outside the village of Bridge of Allan and she has been quick to embrace the rural lifestyle.

Evans reached the 100 metres breaststroke final on her Olympic debut in Paris in 2024

Evans reached the 100 metres breaststroke final on her Olympic debut in Paris in 2024

‘I absolutely love it,’ she says eagerly. ‘I really felt like when I moved up there was no place for me in England. My mum is American actually and she was in love with Scotland. She suggested Stirling to me and at first I was like, “okay, I’ll go view it”.

‘And when I came to campus, I absolutely fell in love with it. Anyone who hasn’t been to Stirling campus, it’s beautiful. And I think that’s something that’s very important to me because yes, I’m an athlete, but I’m also a person outside of the pool and I need to enjoy where I’m living.

‘And Stirling is the perfect place for that, the scenery and on the weekends being able to go on hikes. It’s very peaceful and calming. I love the Scottish accents, the culture and even the weather here, which is very controversial. I actually love the rain! So I’m very, very lucky on that front. I just do think Stirling is the place for me. It just ticks all the boxes in and outside the pool.’

Evans heads into these Games as one of Scotland’s leading medal prospects. So, has she been learning Flower of Scotland just in case she tops the podium? A laugh.

‘I’ve had it on YouTube with the lyrics up so I’m learning it,’ she reveals. ‘It might be my most played Spotify song by the end of the year.’

Marvel’s VisionQuest Series: 5 Stunning Predictions for the Next Big Adventure

0

Marvel fans, brace yourselves for the next big adventure on Disney+, as “VisionQuest” promises to delve deep into the life of Paul Bettany’s Vision. First brought to the screen in the 2015 hit “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Vision returns in this new series following his transformation at the conclusion of “WandaVision.” This adaptation will center on Vision’s struggle to reconcile with memories and relationships from his earlier life. Set primarily within his complex mind, the show will feature a constellation of familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), such as James Spader reprising his role as Ultron, along with Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff, and Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E, an AI created by Tony Stark.

With its unique premise and intriguing revelations, “VisionQuest” seems perfectly suited for the unconventional character that is Vision. While the information released so far has piqued significant interest, a shroud of mystery still surrounds the show. Such secrecy is typical for MCU streaming series pre-launch, yet there are certain elements fans can reasonably anticipate in the show’s eight-episode arc.

These anticipated moments draw inspiration from both previous MCU narratives and larger storylines involving Vision. As “VisionQuest” readies for its October debut on Disney+, keep an eye out for these predictions to unfold in its episodes.

Elizabeth Olsen will cameo as Wanda Maximoff

Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, despite her absence from upcoming titles like “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” remains an integral part of Vision’s story, especially post-“WandaVision.” As Olsen embarks on new ventures like “Eternity” and “Panic Carefully,” speculation grows around her potentially adding another standout role to her impressive array of performances. Yet, given her character’s deep ties with Vision, it seems improbable that “VisionQuest” would conclude its storyline without featuring her in some capacity.

The MCU’s penchant for surprise appearances in their show finales might just continue with a cameo from Olsen’s Wanda. Previous series have set this precedent, with notable last-minute appearances keeping fans on their toes. Given that Vision will meet past figures related to Tony Stark, including the return of the menacing Ultron (James Spader), Wanda’s missing presence would be conspicuous. After all, her character was instrumental in the battle against Ultron, which further solidifies the likelihood of her return in the show’s climactic episodes.

Given that it’s been years since Wanda last appeared in 2022’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” the time could be ripe for Olsen to finally return to the MCU with a “VisionQuest” cameo.

Vivian Vision will make her live-action debut

Already speculation has run rampant that “VisionQuest” will take some cues from the “Vision” comic by Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta. That particular stretch of Marvel Comics history introduced the world to Vivian “Viv” Vision, who serves as the “daughter” of Vision and Virginia. This comics concept of Vision living in a suburban domicile with a nuclear family (with Virginia even having Wanda Maximoff’s brainwaves) already partially inspired “WandaVision.” With this show shifting all the focus onto Vision, though, don’t be surprised if “VisionQuest” features the live-action debut of Vivian Vision, one of the most lasting creations of the comic.

Since her arrival on the page, Vivian has worked with other teenage heroes like Ms. Marvel and Ironheart, two characters who already have live-action counterparts in the MCU. If the MCU wants to keep delivering new, younger superheroes, then Vivian could be a great way of further reaching that goal. Meanwhile, introducing this openly queer superhero into a streaming show would fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s plans for introducing more LGBTQIA+ characters almost exclusively on the small screen. While there’s little hope of seeing Vivian in “Avengers: Doomsday,” it seems likely after Billy Maximoff’s “Agatha All Along” appearance that Vivian could find a home in “VisionQuest.”

Plus, with so many robot-based characters in “VisionQuest” (including human forms of E.D.I.T.H. and F.R.I.D.A.Y.), what’s one more automaton like Vivian Vision to round out the cast?

Expect more Picard cast members to show up

When Marvel Studios started making streaming shows, it initially relied on movie directors to helm the programs and avoided traditional showrunners. This approach was meant to make these productions more like the MCU movies and show how Marvel Studios was coming at these enterprises from the perspective of a film studio. But one of the major things Marvel changed about its Disney+ TV shows after some “Daredevil: Born Again” drama was to actually hire veteran TV showrunners to begin shepherding the various MCU streaming titles.

This includes Terry Matalas, whose prior experience was largely on cable and broadcast network shows like “Terra Nova” and who served as showrunner for two seasons of “Star Trek: Picard.” One of Matalas’ moves was to bring two “Picard” veterans into the cast of “VisionQuest”: Actor Todd Stashwick, who portrayed Captain Liam Shaw in Season 3 of “Picard,” will play bounty hunter Paladin in “VisionQuest,” while Orla Brady, who played the Romulan housekeeper Laris and the Supervisor known as Tallin on “Picard,” will appear as a human incarnation of F.R.I.D.A.Y.

It’s doubtful they’ll be the only figures from that prior Matalas show to show up here. Expect further “VisionQuest” characters, particularly figures showing up for single episode guest appearances, to be portrayed by other “Picard” actors. Marvel embracing TV-savvy showrunners as the primary creative voices for its streaming programs makes these cute casting choices a lot more feasible.

Expect a VisionQuest musical number

For Vision’s first foray into streaming television, “WandaVision,” the unexpected became the norm week in and week out. One of those “unexpected” elements was the musical number “Agatha All Along,” revealing that Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness was really the show’s villain. Three years after “WandaVision,” the Harkness spin-off “Agatha All Along” didn’t just confirm vampires exist in the MCU: it also delivered another musical number, thus solidifying this kooky corner of the MCU as one where song-and-dance routines can happen at any time.

Marvel’s own press releases have confirmed that “VisionQuest” is part of a thematic trilogy that includes “WandaVision” and “Agatha All Along.” Given this, “VisionQuest” will undoubtedly port over some key ingredients from the other parts of that threesome. One of those is almost bound to be the presence of a musical number. With early glimpses of “VisionQuest” footage confirming that it maintains the trippy aesthetics of “WandaVision” and “Agatha,” a musical number could fit perfectly into those creative trappings. If you’re going to make an oddball show, at least go all the way with it and do things like break into song.

Plus some crooning could also be great for the show’s titular character on a thematic level. After all, what better way to explore this new Vision’s attempts to grapple with emotions than through hitting some high notes? It’d be a shame if “VisionQuest” didn’t carry on the tradition of its predecessors and eschewed that musical theater energy altogether.

An ending teasing Vision’s Secret Wars role

Internet speculation about which Marvel heroes won’t survive “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars” is already at a fever pitch. The long-term fate of Vision isn’t entirely known, but it does look like his destiny could be decided in those momentous films. Paul Bettany has now declared on multiple occasions that he believes he’ll be reprising his role as Vision in one or both of them. If true, this would bring Vision back to the big screen nearly a decade after his last appearance (when he “perished” at the hands of Thanos) in “Avengers: Infinity War.” This development would also undoubtedly inform what audiences see at the end of “VisionQuest.”

While Marvel’s taken great pains to make sure the Disney+ shows exist as more standalone entities in relationship to the movies, titles like “Wonder Man” and “Daredevil: Born Again” don’t star fixtures of the “Avengers” movies like “VisionQuest.” Thus, much like “WandaVision” had a post-credits tease for Wanda Maximoff’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” role, expect “VisionQuest” to conclude with something teasing Vision’s involvement in “Secret Wars.” Given how much secrecy shrouds the next two “Avengers” films, it’s difficult to imagine what this could entail.

Still, it would be shocking if “VisionQuest” didn’t conclude with some kind of hint about the character’s future. Better yet, given that Vision seems almost certainly locked in for “Secret Wars,” this “VisionQuest” scene wouldn’t end up like the MCU post-credit scenes that haven’t paid off yet.

Tragic Case of Foster Child’s Drowning on Politician’s Property Under Investigation Involving Two Teens

0

In a heartbreaking incident stemming from a foster placement in South Carolina, a 13-year-old boy lost his life after being violently attacked and drowned. Authorities allege that two teenagers were responsible for the tragic death.

The Augusta Press reveals that the victim, Daryl Martinez Lowry, had been provisionally placed in the home of McCormick County Council Chairman Bernie Hamby. He was staying there temporarily while waiting for a more permanent foster arrangement.

Both of the accused teenagers were also living as foster children in the same household at the time of the incident.

Among those charged is 17-year-old Landen Austin Moore, who faces a murder charge. Investigators report that Moore, along with a 16-year-old, engaged in a fight with Lowry in the early hours of July 20. This brutal altercation left Lowry with stab wounds before the teenagers reportedly submerged him underwater, leading to his death.

According to an arrest warrant posted online by the McCormick County Sheriff’s Office, the confrontation happened at a private boat dock on Beauregard Drive in Modoc, South Carolina.

The warrant alleges Lowry suffered knife lacerations during the fight before Moore and the unidentified 16-year-old “did unlawfully, intentionally, and with malice aforethought” murder him by “holding him underwater until he became deceased.”

The warrant states the allegations are based on witness statements and evidence gathered during the investigation.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) announced Tuesday that Moore was charged with murder after the McCormick County Sheriff’s Office requested the state agency investigate the case.

Moore was booked into the McCormick County Detention Center.

Authorities said the 16-year-old allegedly involved in the incident was transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. SLED has not publicly announced whether that juvenile has been charged.

According to the Augusta Press, Hamby was asleep inside the residence during the alleged attack. Lowry’s body was later recovered from the lake.

Authorities have not indicated Hamby witnessed the incident or was involved in the alleged crime. Hamby, a longtime McCormick County councilman who serves as council chairman, has publicly advocated for foster care for years.

Just over a month before his death, Lowry was the subject of a missing child investigation in his hometown of Chester, South Carolina.

On June 12, the Chester Police Department asked for the public’s help locating the 13-year-old after he was last seen the previous evening.

“At this time, Daryl’s whereabouts are unknown, and we are asking the entire community to remain alert and assist in bringing him home safely,” the department wrote in a social media post.

Police urged parents, neighbors and businesses to check surveillance cameras and report “anything suspicious or unusual,” adding that officers and investigators were actively pursuing leads.

Later that same day, the department announced Lowry had been found safe.

Authorities have not publicly linked Lowry’s earlier disappearance to the circumstances surrounding his death.

A GoFundMe created by Lowry’s relatives says the teen had recently been living in a temporary foster home.

“My name is Zyon Simpson, I am the aunt of Daryl Martinez Lowry (13) who was recently murdered while in a temporary foster home,” the fundraiser states.

The family described Daryl as “an amazing child full of life, love, and charisma.”

“He loved his parents, family, and friends, and he always wore a smile,” the fundraiser says.

A woman identifying herself as Lowry’s aunt also mourned the 13-year-old in a Facebook post, vowing to seek justice.

“I love you my sweet nephew. We will get justice,” she wrote. “You didn’t deserve this. No child deserves this… Until we meet again, I will definitely keep your name alive.”

McCormick County Sheriff Chad Cox described the killing as an extraordinary tragedy for the rural community while thanking the agencies that helped investigate the case.

“We want to express our deepest condolences to the friends/family of the young man who had his life taken in such a horrendous manner,” Cox wrote in a statement posted to the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page.

Cox thanked SLED, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, McCormick County Emergency Services, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the McCormick County Coroner’s Office and others who assisted in the investigation.

“We are extremely grateful that we live/work in a community where violent crime is not the regular occurrence,” Cox wrote. “But with that being said, no place is exempt from these types of incidents and we must remain diligent in our efforts to keep McCormick County a safe place to live, work and raise families.”

SLED said its investigation remains active and ongoing. The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.

News Media has reached out to Hamby, the South Carolina Department of Social Services, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the McCormick County Sheriff’s Office to independently confirm those details.

Authorities have not accused Hamby of any wrongdoing.

Shock Discovery: Maggot-Infested Tesla With 11 Air Fresheners

As the anticipation builds, D4vd awaits the critical decision on whether he will face trial in the chilling case surrounding the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. New and unsettling revelations are beginning to emerge.

In a hearing held on July 22, Chelsea Murillo, a criminalist with the Los Angeles Police Department, revealed shocking evidence. She testified about the discovery of nearly a dozen air fresheners, swarms of maggots, and deceased flies inside the singer’s Tesla. Tragically, alongside these unsettling findings were the decomposing remains of the 14-year-old.

Maintaining his stance, D4vd has entered a plea of not guilty.

According to reports from People, Murillo testified, “I gathered some of the air fresheners and found 11 throughout the vehicle,” detailing their presence mostly in the center console, rear seats, and front trunk.

The testimony also noted that the 21-year-old’s Tesla was overwhelmed by a “strong odor” with a stench unmistakably reminiscent of a decomposing body.

The testimony offered new details about the disappearance and death of Hernandez, whom prosecutors allege was threatening to expose “damaging information” about their relationship and potentially ruin his music career, according to a preliminary hearing brief obtained by People.

Hernandez disappeared on April 23, 2025, after going to the Hollywood Hills home of D4vd—born David Anthony Burke—and was never heard from again, according to authorities.

More than four months later, Hernandez’s decomposed and dismembered remains were found in the trunk of a car registered to D4vd, after it had been abandoned and impounded.

According to a petition filed by prosecutors, the manager of a towing company called police after noticing “a strong smell of decay coming from the vehicle which was attracting flies.”

LAPD Detective Joshua Byers later testified that he could not discern Hernandez’s facial features and that she was identified by dental records, according to CBS News.

In April D4vd, was charged with first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child and unlawful mutilation of human remains, according to court records viewed by Oxygen.

At the time, according to ABC 7, D4vd’s legal team vowed to “vigorously defend David’s innocence.”

“We believe the actual evidence will show David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez,” lead defense attorney Blair Berk said, according to the Associated Press. “We would like to have the evidence come into the light of day.”

Democrats’ Pentagon Funding Stance Elevates AOC as Party’s Emotional Core

In a display of what some are calling extreme political theater, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has stirred controversy with her recent critique of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The congresswoman cautioned that the legislation, which facilitates cooperation between U.S. forces and the Israel Defense Forces in areas like cybersecurity, poses “an existential threat to American sovereignty and democracy.” Her remarks have sparked fierce debate across party lines.

The accusation has been labeled as an overreaction by many. Section 219 of the NDAA merely sanctions joint military initiatives in cybersecurity, technology drills, and similar collaborations. This section echoes the United States’ existing agreements with numerous countries, including long-standing allies like Canada and India.

Nonetheless, skepticism towards Israel appears increasingly prevalent within the Democratic Party. This sentiment emerges at a time when House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries refrained from guiding his party members’ votes against a recent amendment aimed at cutting U.S. aid to Israel. Shockingly, more than half of House Democrats endorsed this amendment.

This internal division illustrates a broader strategic alignment within the party: a concerted opposition to policies associated with former President Trump. Such is the unity in resistance that Senate Democrats are prepared to employ a filibuster strategy to thwart the Defense bill, which has forced Republicans to resort to reconciliation—a complex procedural tactic—to maintain military operations in the face of unfolding tensions with Iran.

In an effort to keep the legislative process moving, the House has gone ahead and approved the NDAA along with a Republican-sponsored $95 billion spending resolution. This measure is designed to set the stage for reconciliation and may balloon to accommodate pressing defense modernization requirements.

But that process won’t finish until mid-September at the earliest, and is sure to feature a host of other proposed amendments designed to please Dems hard-left base, with lots more speeches implying that Benjamin Netanyahu is using Jewish mind-control powers to make Trump do his bidding.

Yes, Trump should be doing a better job of explaining his war strategy and selling it to the public — but it’s simply disgraceful for Democrats to block Defense funding while enemy fire is killing US service members in the Middle East.

Again, they’re blocking both emergency funds for the Iran war and the larger Defense bill for the year that they had agreed on with Republicans before their base’s anti-war fever reached a new peak.

All of it, with an eye on causing chaos in advance of November’s elections — even as their posturing in Washington feeds the hard left’s drive to knock off more-moderate Democrats in the primaries.

We keep urging sane Dems to fight back against the lefties, yet Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer keep appeasing them and saving all their fire for Trump and the GOP.

If they keep this up, AOC will soon be the heart of the party and maybe even its 2028 nominee.
