Joy Behar Sparks Controversy with Unexpected Kiss on The View

0

During the latest episode of The View, Joy Behar left viewers in disbelief when she shared a kiss on the lips with married actor Anson Mount. This unexpected moment unfolded live on air, capturing the attention of many.

The incident occurred just as the 53-year-old star of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds made his entrance from backstage, warmly greeting the show’s panelists. It was in these friendly exchanges that the surprise kiss happened.

Mount, who tied the knot with photographer Darah Trang in 2018, first made his way to Whoopi Goldberg and Sara Haines before approaching Behar, who is 83 years old.

In the midst of friendly greetings, Behar welcomed Mount with a cheek kiss, and then playfully puckered her lips, leading Mount to engage in an unexpected kiss on the mouth.

Behar further surprised the audience by wrapping her arm around Mount, seemingly inviting him to linger for a more extended kiss, turning the light-hearted exchange into a moment of buzzworthy television.

After he sat down, the audience laughed as co-host Sunny Hostin handed him a tissue to wipe off Behar’s lipstick from his mouth.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for The View, Mount and Behar for comment on the kiss.

Hostin later quipped, ‘no wonder Joy has been talking about you all morning’ to which Behar replied, ‘I’m old, but I’m not dead.’

‘That’s it, Joy, because I am,’ Mount said in response to Behar’s joke.

‘Are you okay?’ Goldberg asked Behar.

‘I need a little bit of a touch-up,’ she replied, adding, ‘Last time he was here, he brought me flowers for my birthday, and it’s never been the same between us.’

‘Well, I got married,’ he stated.

‘That’s what I mean!’ Behar replied.

After the moment went viral, Mount revealed that his wife thought the on-air kiss with Behar was ‘hilarious.’

‘I asked my wife to promise me she wouldn’t divorce me. She thought it was hilarious,’ he said in an interview with TV Insider.

As for why the moment became a viral sensation, he said, ‘I think people just assume that I’m not around anymore because I have two young kids. I think maybe they were surprised to see that I’m still alive.’

The actor said his last appearance on The View was 13 years ago.

‘I brought her flowers for her birthday, and I guess I made an impression,’ he joked. ‘So, we’ll see what she does the next time.’

‘He plays it off well but I think she crossed a line,’ someone else added.

‘What would the view think if a man did that to a woman,’ another questioned.

Jackie the Bald Eagle’s Health Concerns Preceded Viral Big Bear Fight, Vet Teams Reveal

0

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (KABC) — Jackie, the cherished bald eagle of Big Bear, is in critical condition but is under intensive care after being found on the ground near Big Bear Lake.

According to the Ojai Raptor Center, where she is being treated, Jackie’s health situation is “very serious.” Veterinary teams suspect she was already unwell before being seen in a tussle with two younger eagles the previous week.

Despite her alert demeanor and willingness to eat, Jackie is suffering from significant anemia and kidney inflammation, as shared by the center in an Instagram update. The team is awaiting further test results to uncover the root cause of her condition.

Tests are being conducted to assess levels of zinc, rodenticides, and lead in her system. Fortunately, X-rays have shown no presence of fishing hooks, sinkers, or other metallic objects.

The center emphasized, “Wildlife medicine requires patience, and some answers can’t be hurried. As we gain more insights into this patient’s condition, we’ll keep you updated with any significant developments. Although Jackie is alert and eating, predicting her recovery remains premature at this point.”

Jackie, the beloved Big Bear bald eagle, continues to receive care after she was injured and rescued but officials say her condition remains critical

What happened to Jackie?

New video is shedding light on what led up to Jackie being unable to fly and why she needed to be rescued.

The footage was taken last Friday by a couple who found her grounded on the north shore of Big Bear Lake and unable to fly. It shows Jackie fighting with two younger eagles, using her talons to fend them off.

Duke and Anne Blackwood were having drinks on their dock on Friday afternoon when they saw the attack.

“I mean, she was, at that point in time, she was not doing well,” Duke Blackwood said

The Ojai Raptor Center says territorial disputes are normal for nesting sites and food sources.

Vet teams said Jackie was weak and vulnerable when the couple found her. They believe she was already sick, which is why she was vulnerable to the attack in the first place.

“It was pretty aggressive. She kind of rolled around on her back, her claws up, and then she acted weird after,” Anne said.

The couple said Jackie moped around near the shore for a while. Later that night, when she hadn’t returned to the nearby nest, they knew something was wrong.

“It was almost like 9:30 at night, a lot of coyotes. So we were not comfortable, any of us, leaving her there,” Anne said.

But, they said they didn’t really know who to call for help.

“I think even at one point, called 911 and tried to explain it was Jackie and Shadow, and I think the dispatcher was like, ‘We don’t know what you’re talking about,'” Anne explained.

Eventually, they called the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

“As soon as they came around the corner and saw the eagle, they were like, ‘Oh, this is our eagle. We’ve got it. You guys are good. We’re going to stay here and do whatever it takes,'” Anne said.

That’s when folks with the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation’s San Dimas Raptor Rescue Team made the drive up to Big Bear and rescued Jackie.

She’s currently recovering at the Ojai Raptor Center, where they say she’s in critical condition — underweight and having difficulty eating.

For now, Jackie’s two eaglets from this season, Sandy and Luna, are old enough to fly and mostly fend for themselves, but they’re also being cared for by their father, Shadow. The eaglets have fledged the nest, but frequently return for feedings.

“They’re part of the family, and so, it’s… they’re us,” Duke said.

Injured bald eagle rescued after eagle-on-eagle fight; believed to be Big Bear's Jackie

How could such a strong, grown-up eagle get compromised?

“There’s some clues in here. If a mature eagle was compromised, if it was injured, or if it was lead poisoned, for example, that could explain why it was unable to fly away,” said Dr. Todd Katzner, a prominent wildlife biologist with the U.S. Geological Survey who specializes in eagle conservation.

Rescuers are testing Jackie for levels of zinc, rodenticides and lead. In his research, Dr. Katzner says environmental toxins are a huge issue plaguing eagles.

“An injury like this is probably human-associated in the beginning, and it’s a good reminder of the role that we play in the environment,” Dr. Katzner said.

Rescuers say it could take weeks, maybe longer, before we could see Jackie’s return.

“I don’t want to speculate on that, other than to warn people not to expect it to be incredibly fast,” said Dr. Travis Longcore with the L.A. Audubon Society.

“I mean, that’s the whole goal here, is to have her back in the nest and so she can live another 10-20 years and have many more hatchlings,” Duke said.

Dr. Longcore says it’s very likely Jackie was sick even before the fight.

“The fact that that happened was the result of already being sick from something, so this wasn’t because of the altercation with other birds, based on the reports of no acute injuries,” Dr. Longcore said. “So we shouldn’t even be talking about this as an injury, this is an illness.”

Today, there are more than 70,000 bald eagle nesting pairs in the U.S. They’re thriving compared to the sparse population we had in the 1960s. It shows how small human actions can make a huge difference.

Dr. Katzner says he doesn’t use rodenticides in his home, and his friends who hunt use non-lead ammunition.

He says about 50% of bald eagles and golden eagles test positive for exposure to lead. In the U.S., it’s mainly from lead ammunition, which is banned from hunting in California. Tests show about 89% of eagles test positive for rodenticides.

How are Shadow, Sandy and Luna doing without Jackie?

In an update on Wednesday evening, Friends of Big Bear Valley (FOBBV), the nonprofit that operates the eagle nest camera, wrote that Shadow is continuing to care for, feed and protect Sandy and Luna in Jackie’s absence. They noted that he’s been protecting the nest from other subadult eagles in the area.

FOBBV wrote that Luna even appeared to chase an intruder away a couple days ago.

Meanwhile, Sandy and Luna are exploring further out in the habitat and staying away from the cameras for longer periods of time despite still visiting the nest daily.

FOBBV said Shadow was seen with a subadult nearby on Wednesday, and volunteers believe it could possibly be the same female eagle that had a short skirmish with Jackie.

Many fans of the bald eagle couple have been concerned that Shadow might leave the nest while Jackie is away. FOBBV said they spoke to an expert who said that due to Jackie and Shadow’s incredible bond, it is unlikely he will move on for now. The expert noted that Shadow likely won’t be looking for a mate until his hormones kick in, which could be around the end of December or early January.

FOBBV added that it didn’t have any updates on Jackie’s condition for Wednesday.

“She has the best of the best and that is all we can hope for now,” the nonprofit wrote on social media.

NBC Today Show Faces Crisis as Nancy Guthrie Case Forces Uncertain Future

The Guthrie family has been thrust into turmoil following a harrowing ordeal that has inevitably left its mark on Savannah Guthrie, admired co-host of “Today.” This distressing saga, which impacts not just Savannah but the entire “Today” team, began in early February 2026 when Savannah’s elderly mother, Nancy Guthrie, was tragically abducted. In response to this shocking event, Savannah stepped away from her duties to be with her family. Despite her return, an undeniable somberness lingered on screen, a reflection of the unresolved tragedy of Nancy’s disappearance.

The reverberations of this personal crisis have been felt in the show’s viewership, with competitor “Good Morning America” experiencing a surge in popularity. NBC insiders, speaking to Rob Shuter’s Naughty but Nice Substack, explained that while the empathetic support for Savannah is strong, the shift in mood on “Today” was evident. They noted, “The situation has undeniably altered the show… While everyone understands and doesn’t blame Savannah, the shift in atmosphere is palpable,” acknowledging why many viewers have drifted towards ABC’s morning offering.

“Morning television ought to uplift and energize viewers as they begin their day, not burden them emotionally,” a source commented. Yet, navigating this complex scenario seems nearly impossible. Another insider conveyed the predicament, “No clear solutions exist. Asking Savannah to mask her feelings is unreasonable, but the change in tone is something viewers cannot ignore.” The dilemma leaves “Today” in a difficult position without an easy path forward.

The ‘Today’ show team wants to do everything they can to support Savannah Guthrie

Amid this challenging atmosphere, those close to Guthrie emphasize their commitment to ensuring she feels valued and secure with her role at “Today.” This has deterred them from reaching out to her former co-anchor, Hoda Kotb, for assistance. “Reintroducing Hoda, even temporarily, might imply a lack of faith in Savannah and could trigger significant discord behind the scenes,” a source cautioned. As another insider described, “NBC is treading carefully, fully aware that one misstep could exacerbate the current situation.”

While previous rumors of tension between Guthrie and Kotb were unmentioned, these speculations might still influence producers’ strategies. The mere consideration of Kotb’s return is notable, especially following reports that her previous departure had unexpectedly boosted the show’s ratings. In late 2025, insiders revealed to Naughty but Nice that Craig Melvin’s performance as Kotb’s successor prompted a spike in viewership, with numbers climbing significantly after her exit.

Another insider enthused, “This new Savannah-and-Craig partnership? That’s lightning in a coffee cup.” Simply put, the situation at “Today” is a heartbreaking one, and we don’t envy those with decision-making power at the hit morning show. After all, as one of Shuter’s sources asserted, “They want to stand by Savannah, stop ‘GMA’s’ momentum, and avoid creating an even bigger crisis behind the scenes.” It’s a mammoth task at an incredibly challenging time.

Nicaragua Set to Abolish Elections as Parliament Moves to Cement President Ortega’s Rule

0

In a startling political shift, Nicaragua’s lawmakers have declared their intention to abolish elections, aligning with President Daniel Ortega’s recent statement that elections will no longer occur—an announcement that has sparked international condemnation.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Nicaragua’s congress, dominated by Ortega and his wife, Rosario Murillo. Plans for a constitutional overhaul aim to solidify the country’s “peace, security, and stability,” according to the lawmakers.

This decision fulfills Ortega’s promise to eliminate elections, thereby further restricting the opposition’s already limited avenues to challenge a government ruled by Ortega and Murillo. Recent constitutional amendments have elevated Murillo from vice president to the novel position of “co-president.”

“No more elections will happen here for them to attempt to seize the government and take power from us,” proclaimed Ortega during a speech on Sunday, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Sandinista revolution, which he partook in to overthrow the U.S.-backed regime of Anastasio Somoza.

“The days when parties backed by the Yankees (United States) and the Somocistas would return to power are over — never again,” he declared.

The declaration appeared to eliminate the possibility of a future electoral challenge as Ortega and Murillo continue consolidating control over the country’s political institutions.

Ortega and Murillo expanded their authority through sweeping constitutional changes that took effect in 2025. The reforms included extending the presidential term from five years to six and placing the legislative, judicial and electoral institutions under the authority of the presidency.

The pair now exercise control over nearly every branch of government, including the armed forces, police and judiciary.

Ortega, Nicaragua’s longest-serving leader, has remained in power until early 2028, although his statement on Sunday effectively canceled Nicaragua’s next elections, which had been scheduled for November 2027.

Critics say Ortega had already effectively eliminated meaningful electoral competition during elections in 2011, 2016 and 2021.

Many prominent opposition leaders have been imprisoned, forced into exile or stripped of their Nicaraguan citizenship, while opposition parties and independent civic organizations have lost their legal status.

A United Nations group of experts has accused the Ortega-Murillo government of systematically violating human rights as part of a campaign to eliminate criticism and preserve its hold on power. The experts said some alleged violations may amount to crimes against humanity.

The government launched a violent crackdown on anti-government protests in 2018. More than 300 people were killed during the unrest, according to international human rights groups.

Ortega’s effort to abolish elections prompted widespread condemnation from foreign governments, including the U.S.

“Daniel Ortega’s declaration that under his family’s dictatorship, Nicaragua will never again hold elections lays bare their true authoritarian nature. Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo have abandoned even the pretense of popular consent,” U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Tuesday.

“The Nicaraguan people have the right to choose their own leaders through democratic elections. The United States calls on the international community to join forces to demonstrate to the Murillo-Ortega dictatorship that it cannot expect to maintain business as usual with other nations when it is thwarting the basic tenets of our democratic hemisphere,” he added.

The Trump administration has described the Ortega-Murillo government as a dictatorship and imposed sanctions on members of the government and their allies. The State Department has also enacted visa restrictions targeting more than 2,350 Nicaraguan officials and their family members.

Volker Türk, the United Nations’ high commissioner for human rights, denounced Nicaragua’s legislative ambitions on Wednesday, saying that “people of all political viewpoints must be allowed to vote and run for office.”

“These latest developments further deepen the severe restrictions on fundamental freedoms, the dismantling of civic space, and the steady erosion of the rule of law,” Türk said in a statement.

Long Island Resident Charged with Murder in Fatal Stabbing of Local Homeless Man Near LIE

0

A shocking incident on Long Island has left a community reeling after a local man allegedly pursued and fatally stabbed a well-known homeless individual, abandoning his lifeless form beside a busy highway in broad daylight. The accused then reportedly made his escape down the road.

Joseph Norton, 20, is facing charges of second-degree murder following the alleged killing of 32-year-old Timothy Stark. This harrowing event unfolded around 3:30 p.m. Monday on the service road near Exit 64 of the Long Island Expressway in Medford, as confirmed by Suffolk Police.

According to the authorities, Norton, a resident of Manorville, became embroiled in a confrontation with Stark. Eyewitnesses report that Norton stopped his vehicle amidst the busy traffic, leaping out to chase Stark on foot.

Prosecutors revealed that Norton allegedly used a 6-inch switchblade to fatally stab Stark in the back. After the brutal attack, Norton reportedly hurried back to his car, leaving Stark to perish by the roadside, as reported by ABC 7.

Despite being rushed to NYU Langone Hospital in Patchogue, Stark was tragically declared dead upon arrival, further intensifying the sorrow felt by those who knew him.

Suffolk County patrol officers tracked Norton down about five miles away at an intersection in Yaphank shortly after he allegedly killed Stark.

Retired EMT Jeff Vinci told ABC 7 that he witnessed the moment Stark collapsed on the side of the road and rushed over to help him.

“His body was moving in a way that could tell he was not breathing anymore,” Vinci told the outlet. “I checked his pulse. He had no pulse.”

It remains unclear what prompted Norton to allegedly hunt down and kill Stark.

Norton was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, where prosecutors alleged he chased Stark across three wide intersections before slamming his head into the pavement and driving the blade into his lung and heart in front of a handful of witnesses and two dashcam videos, ABC 7 reported.

Norton’s attorney, Peter H. Mayer IV, entered a denial to the murder charge — stressing to the court that the charges against his client “are not convictions” and he’s presumed innocent.

A judge ordered Norton to be held without bail following the hearing.

Norton is due back in court on Thursday, online jail records show.

Stark was a beloved fixture in the community, with residents saying he would normally be posted up in a chair on the service road.

Jake Sherack said he and his 7-year-old son would regularly stop to give him food and remembered him as a “kind person.”

“He was always good to us, one of my biggest prides was me and my son going to feed him,” Sherack told the outlet.

“I hope my son knows for the rest of his life that we helped him out. He was just always a kind person.”

Tanika Quashie, who works at the nearby Medford DMV just a block from where Stark was killed, was seen placing candles at a growing memorial on the spot where he used to sit.

“He was somebody, and I want the world to know that,” she told News 12 Long Island.

“I’m just at a loss for words that somebody so kind, didn’t bother anybody, somebody so innocent, and you do that to him? It’s just unforgivable.”

Secret Service Under Fire Amid Alleged Security Breach Investigation

An agent from the Secret Service team safeguarding Vice President JD Vance has allegedly been removed from duty following accusations of leaking sensitive travel details.

According to insider sources relayed to CNN, the agent allegedly tipped off MS Now with information for a story. This piece detailed the growing frustration among agents assigned to Vance’s security over his impromptu travel schedule, sources confirmed to CNN.

Officials at the White House were reportedly outraged when these operational details surfaced in the media, triggering worries about the potential risks to security and privacy breaches for the Vice President’s family. The identity of the supposed whistleblower within the Secret Service remains undisclosed.

In its coverage, MS Now highlighted a planned trip by Vance which was set to involve flying via a Marine Corps helicopter alongside his son for a golf outing. However, the initiative was called off due to adverse weather conditions featuring strong winds and thunderstorms.

The report also detailed the growing discontent among Secret Service agents as they continuously juggled the Vice President’s sudden travel requests. Their duties often meant sacrificing personal plans and off days to ensure their readiness every time a new destination was announced.

The article further described how the Secret Service referred to the vice president using the codename ‘Bobcat,’ to reflect his early roots.

It cited ‘people with knowledge of [Vance’s] flight plans’ and ‘administration officials with knowledge of his schedule’ as well as an ‘additional source with knowledge of their travel who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.’

In a statement at the time, Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn emphasized that protecting the nation’s leaders requires constant vigilance.

‘When US Secret Service Special Agents choose to join a protective detail, they understand the commitment required: long hours, frequent travel, and the need for constant flexibility,’ Quinn said.

‘Nights, weekends, and holidays are part of the job. Our agents work tirelessly to ensure protectees’ safety and security, while also preserving normalcy to the extent possible. We are committed to supporting our personnel, which requires around the clock dedication and discipline. This is a job that requires absolute dedication and discipline.’

Meanwhile, the vice president’s office told the outlet that the family is ‘grateful to the men and women of the US Secret Service who serve our country with distinction.’

‘While protecting a Vice President with a large policy portfolio and a young and growing family presents a unique challenge, agents of the Secret Service do so with excellence every day.’

But when the story was published earlier this month, it caught the attention of the Secret Service, FBI and White House officials, one of the sources said.

The agent is now facing an internal review from the agency’s internal affairs component and has been placed on administrative leave, the sources said.

It remains unclear whether the agent will face any possible administrative punishments or whether criminal charges could be forthcoming.

Unpacking the US-Saudi Arabia Nuclear Pact: Key Implications and Rising Concerns

0

In a groundbreaking move, U.S. President Donald Trump inked a pivotal agreement with Saudi Arabia, paving the way for the kingdom to develop nuclear reactors powered by American technology and to begin uranium enrichment.

This significant deal, signed on Thursday, extends over the next 30 years, empowering U.S. companies to establish and operate commercial nuclear power plants within Saudi Arabia.

Nonetheless, the agreement has sparked concern among experts who warn it might trigger nuclear proliferation. This term involves not only the dissemination of nuclear weapons to additional nations but also the enhancement and hoarding of existing arsenals. Despite these concerns, U.S. officials assure that comprehensive safety measures have been implemented.

This deal occurs against the complex backdrop of escalating tensions with Iran, a nation whose nuclear ambitions have long been a controversial topic, hindering progress in peace negotiations.

What’s in the deal?

The agreement encompasses two parts: a “peaceful nuclear cooperation” pact, commonly known as a 123 agreement, and another focusing on “bilateral safeguards” to ensure compliance and safety standards.

The text of the deals was not immediately made public, except for a statement by the US energy department.

“US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and Saudi Minister of Energy His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman signed a peaceful nuclear cooperation agreement, commonly known as a 123 agreement, alongside an accompanying bilateral safeguards agreement,” the announcement read.

“Together, these two agreements lay the legal foundation for a decades-long, multi-billion-dollar partnership that advances several priority economic and strategic objectives, including nuclear nonproliferation.”

The department said the deal would benefit “American industry, workers and supply chains” and help “meet Saudi energy needs”.

Potential pathways to nuclear weapons

A key point of concern is that the deal could allow Saudi Arabia to enrich uranium and reprocess nuclear waste, both of which are potential pathways to making a nuclear weapon.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) agreed to forgo both of those when it signed a similar deal with the US in 2009.

Discussions of a civil nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia have been in the works for years — under both Trump’s first administration and Joe Biden’s — but no deal came together before now, in part because of warnings from nonproliferation groups that it could offer Saudi Arabia a path to develop a nuclear weapon.

Unlike the Biden plan, the current deal does not include a so-called Additional Protocol that allows the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency to carry out intrusive snap inspections.

Wright insisted the agreement includes strong safeguards.

“Rest assured, these agreements uphold the highest standards of nuclear safety and nonproliferation, while relying on the world’s best nuclear technology and scientists, designed right here in the United States,” he said in a statement.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has repeatedly said he does not want the kingdom to build a nuclear weapon — but it would if Iran did, raising concerns about potential proliferation.

Allison Minor from the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East said the deal had been in the works before the Iran war, but that the war likely added political urgency.

“By securing a 123 agreement that appears to have more preferable terms than the United Arab Emirates and dozens of other US partners have committed to, Riyadh also signals its role as a major global player, even if it is not among the ranks of nuclear-armed nations,” she said.

“It is possible that the Iran war lent greater political urgency to the negotiations, as Washington has sought to reassure a partner that is increasingly wary of US security commitments and frustrated by the lack of consultation.”

“We should read the announcement as part of Riyadh’s broader strategy to managing the shockwaves of the Iran war.”

Why experts are concerned

The energy department said the deal now goes to US Congress.

Unless Congress raises votes to object to the deal within 90 session days, it automatically takes effect — and overriding a presidential veto would require a two-thirds majority.

Some nuclear experts called on Congress to vote down the deal.

“We urge all members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to recognise the risks and to exercise their power to reject or modify Trump’s proposed nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia so as not to open the door for nuclear proliferation in the Middle East even wider,” said Kelsey Davenport, director for nonproliferation policy at the Arms Control Association.

Rosemary Kelanic, director of the Middle East program at Defense Priorities, said “giving Saudi Arabia uranium enrichment technology is a terrible idea on many counts”.

“But it’s especially idiotic to do it *in the middle of a war over Iran’s nuclear program*,” she wrote on X.

Matthew Kroening of the Atlantic Council said, ahead of the formal announcement, that it would be a “mistake to allow Saudi Arabia the capability for enrichment”, adding: “Washington is right to strengthen its relationship with Riyadh, but it should not do so at the expense of its effective nuclear weapons nonproliferation standards.”

Ahead of the announcement, secretary of state Marco Rubio said the US would not “reach any agreement with any country in the world that leads to the risk of proliferation”.

Senator Jim Risch, a Republican, said he agrees with the kingdom’s crown prince that the deal stands to benefit both countries.

But several Democratic politicians have warned that the deal could start an arms race in the Middle East as the US-Israeli war on Iran grinds on.

“They are allowing Saudi Arabia, a belligerent and authoritarian nation, to develop nuclear weapons technologies while starting a war with Iran under the guise of preventing an Iranian nuclear bomb,” said Democrat senator Edward Markey.

“This deal would make us all less safe.”

Californian Democrat Brad Sherman said Congress should approve the deal only if it carries the same “gold-standard” safeguards the US required of the UAE, adding that “a President waging war to prevent nuclear proliferation in the Middle East should not facilitate proliferation just because US companies stand to make a profit”.

Open Heaven 23 July 2026 MESSAGE

When someone who is under the burden of the yoke of satan cries out to God genuinely for help, God steps in and delivers such a fellow. However, after receiving the deliverance, there are certain things the person must do and continue to do so that the ‘taskmaster’ (the devil) will not lay a heavier burden on him or her. For example, God heard the cry of the Israelites when the Egyptians enslaved them, and He came to their rescue (Exodus 3:7-9), but there were steps they had to take to ensure that they were not re-enslaved by their Egyptian taskmasters.

Matthew 12:43-45 tells us that if a person becomes free from a burden of demonic possession and remains empty, the burden will return in a worse form because the evil spirit that left the person will return with seven other spirits that are more wicked than itself, so that the latter end of the person will be worse than the first. I pray that in any area the enemy wants your latter end to be worse than your beginning, the Almighty God will frustrate his plans, in Jesus’ name.

When a fellow has been freed from a burden, the first thing that he or she must do to keep the enemy away and ensure that the burden that has been lifted does not return is to praise God continually. Acts 3:1-8 tells the story of a lame man who lay by the Beautiful Gate of the temple. When God visited him and took away his burden of stagnation, poverty, and shame, he began to walk, leap, and praise God without caring about anyone who was watching him. This man was born lame, and before his healing, he was already above 40 years old (Acts 4:22). This means that he was being carried from one point to another for over 40 years and must have been unable to enter the temple unaided. He might have been praying silently, “God, I wish I had legs so I could enter the temple and dance and praise You as You deserve.” This must have been why he leapt and praised God with so much joy when he received his deliverance.

Beloved, has God been good to you? Has He taken away your burdens? Praise Him abundantly, everywhere, and at all times. As we see in today’s Bible reading, fill your mouth with high praises to God. Dance and use musical instruments to praise Him, for He alone is worthy of your praise.

Open Heaven 23 July 2026 HYMN 18 – Praise To The Lord The Almighty, The King Of Creation

1 Praise to the Lord,
the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health
and salvation:
Join the great throng
psaltery, organ and song
sounding in glad adoration.

2 Praise to the Lord,
over all things he gloriously reigneth:
Borne as on eagle-wings, safely his saints,
He sustaineth
Has thou not seen
How all thou needest hath been
Granted in what he ordaineth?

3 Praise to the Lord,
Who doth prosper thy way and defend thee;
Surely his goodness and mercy shall ever
attend thee; ponder anew,
What the almighty can do
Who with his love doth befriend thee.

4 Praise to the Lord!
O let all that is in me adore him!
All that has breath join with Abraham’s
Seed to adore him! Let the Amen,
Sum all our praises again;
Now as we worship before him.

DCLM Daily Manna 23 July 2026 — Costly Consecration

DCLM Daily Manna 23 July 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Costly Consecration

TOPIC: Costly Consecration (DCLM Daily Manna 23 July 2026)

KEY VERSE: And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of – Genesis 22:2

TEXT: Genesis 22:1-11 (KJV)

1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

Frederick Brotherton Meyer, a Baptist pastor and evangelist in England, contemporary and friend of D. L. Moody, observed that “Consecration is only possible when we give up our will about EVERYTHING.” This may explain why most professing Christians shy away from true consecration. For some others, consecration should be moderated in such a manner as not to exceed the boundary set by “common sense”.

Abraham, as seen in today’s text, demonstrated a high level of consecration. To a normal person, God’s command to him to offer his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice to Him was an invitation to eternal sorrow. But Abraham’s love for and devotion to God were more than skin deep. It was such a commitment that was not hinged on any material benefit. The Lord’s demand was explicit: “Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest… and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of…” Isaac was an only son whose name meant laughter, a child of promise and therefore very beloved to his parents. Yet Abraham was willing to sacrifice him to God.

By that act, Abraham’s obedience and faith were only being put to the test. He was willing to part with his highest love and hope on earth… to even go on a three-day journey to obey God’s extraordinary command. He was moved neither by Isaac’s affecting remark nor the thought of how others would react to him. Satisfied that Abraham’s devotion to Him was no half measure, God intervened and prevented him from sacrificing Isaac. A lamb was divinely provided in his stead, a pointer to the Lord Jesus Christ, the “Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world”.

As you reflect on all these, consider how you will fare in God’s test of obedience and faith. If the Lord today requires your Isaac – whatever constitutes your greatest joy on earth – will you be willing to part with it for God’s sake? How much do you love God? Do social and material pursuits stand between you and God? Are you willing to place your prestige on the altar for the Lord? The test is ongoing. Will you pass it?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Our commitment to the Lord is determined by how far we are willing to go with Him.
