Sophie Turner Confirms Relationship with Aristocrat Peregrine Pearson

Sophie Turner has confirmed her relationship with her British aristocrat boyfriend Peregrine Pearson as they stepped out together again this week. The Game Of Thrones actress, 27, who is in the process of a divorce with her estranged husband Joe Jonas, was spotted passionately kissing the media empire heir, whose family has a net worth of more than £224million ($280m). Sophie and Peregrine - who is known as Perry to his friends - were first spotted kissing during an outing in October, sparking speculating that she had moved on following her break-up with Jonas Brother singer Joe, 34.

Sophie Turner has stepped into the limelight with her new beau, British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, confirming their burgeoning romance with a public display of affection this week. The 27-year-old Game of Thrones star, who is amidst divorce proceedings with musician Joe Jonas, was seen warmly embracing the media heir, whose family boasts a staggering net worth exceeding £224 million ($280 million). This confirms swirling rumors since October of the pair’s involvement, marking a new chapter for Sophie after her relationship with 34-year-old Jonas Brother member Joe.

Peregrine is the eldest son and heir of Michael Pearson, the 4th Viscount Cowdray – a former film producer who owns a significant chunk of the Pearson media empire. While Sophie is said to be worth a whopping £10million ($12m), this pales in comparison to Peregrine's family fortune. Sophie was offered the role of Sansa Stark in Game Of Thrones age 13 and has since appeared in many films and campaigns, enabling her to amass her own fortune. The mother-of-two's upbringing is comparatively modest as the daughter of Sally and Andrew Turner, who worked as a nursery school teacher and pallet distribution company respectively.

Peregrine, often referred to as Perry, hails from a renowned lineage, being the firstborn of Michael Pearson, the 4th Viscount Cowdray. His family’s wealth stems largely from the prominent Pearson media empire. Sophie’s own net worth, impressive at an estimated £10 million ($12 million), is dwarfed by Perry’s family fortunes. Despite growing up in more humble surrounds—the daughter of Sally, a nursery school teacher, and Andrew Turner, who worked in pallet distribution—Sophie’s role as Sansa Stark from the tender age of 13 has catapulted her into a notable career and financial success, supplemented by various film and modeling campaigns.

The Turners relocated to Chesterton, Warwickshire, when she was two years old, where she spent most of her childhood. Sophie went to Warwick Prep School until the age of 11, before attending The King’s High School for Girls, which currently costs between £7,250 ($9k) and £8,630 ($10k) per term. Sophie and Peregrine's latest PDA-packed display suggests they are giving the romance a shot, as they looked smitten with each other during the evening stroll on Thursday. Peregrine, 29, has also recently been through his own break-up, after splitting from King Charles's goddaughter, Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark.

The Turner family moved to Chesterton, Warwickshire, when Sophie was just two, where she enjoyed her formative years. She attended Warwick Prep School until age 11 and subsequently enrolled at The King’s High School for Girls, where tuition now ranges from £7,250 ($9,000) to £8,630 ($10,000) per term. Sophie and Perry’s recent affectionate displays during a Thursday evening stroll suggest the couple is wholeheartedly embracing their relationship. Peregrine, 29, has recently exited a relationship with Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark, suggesting both he and Sophie are in tune with fresh starts.

But it appears that the new couple have found solace in each other following their respective splits, as their relationship continues to heat up. During the romantic walk, Sophie and Peregrine couldn't keep their hands off each other as they stopped on several occasions for hugs and kisses. Sophie was wrapped up in a grey hoodie and black coat, while she also sported a green beanie hat and a pair of gloves. Peregrine also kept warm in a coat with a fur-trim hood, while also wearing a woolly scarf and hat. As they walked side by side, Peregrine could be seen slinging his arm around Sophie, as they appeared very comfortable in each other's presence.

Their open affection hints at newfound solace together post-breakup. The couple was spotted tenderly exchanging hugs and kisses as they leisurely walked, with Sophie dressed warmly in a grey hoodie, black coat, and a green beanie, complemented by gloves. Peregrine matched her cozy look, wearing a fur-trimmed coat, woolly scarf, and hat. As they walked closely, Perry lovingly draped his arm over Sophie, solidifying their evident comfort and connection in each other’s company.

The first sighting of Sophie and Peregrine together was during the Rugby World Cup in France in October, where they were seen kissing near the Gare du Nord station. The pair then parted ways in chauffeur-driven cars before they later reunited at the city's Stade de France, where Sophie unveiled the Rugby World Cup trophy. According to The Sun, an onlooker said: 'They arrived together at the chauffeur pick-up location outside of the station. It looked like they might have both come on the Eurostar from London. They stood there for a few minutes and were chatting and laughing a lot. He then took his hat off and leaned in to give her a big kiss. After the kiss they parted ways.'

Sophie’s initial public appearance with Peregrine was at the Rugby World Cup in France last October, where they shared a kiss near Gare du Nord station. The couple temporarily separated into different chauffeur-driven cars before later reconvening at Stade de France, where Sophie played a key role in revealing the Rugby World Cup trophy. An observer, according to The Sun, noted their arrival at the chauffeur pick-up in a jovial and affectionate manner, implying they might have traveled together from London. The onlooker described Perry removing his hat to give Sophie a heartfelt kiss before going their separate ways.

Just hours after the kiss, Sophie was seen smiling as she and Peregrine both arrived ahead of the Rugby World Cup Final between New Zealand and South Africa. Sophie walked a few steps ahead of the aristocrat, dubbed Britain's 'most eligible bachelor', before going on to the pitch to unveil the Webb Ellis cup. The kiss came one month after Sophie's ex Joe, who she shares daughters Willa, three, and Delphine, 16 months, with, filed for divorce and the pair reached a temporary custody agreement.

Pearson's ancestral estate is home to Cowdray Park Polo Club, which boasts ten pitches and hosts more than 450 matches each year. The prestigious club hosts the annual Gold Cup, where both Prince William and Prince Harry have played. The Gold Cup is polo's most prestigious European event. The main Cowdray House, bought in 1908 by Peregrine's great-great-grandfather Weetman Dickinson Pearson, has 120 acres of formal gardens and woodland. The house was a replacement for a Tudor manor built by the Montague family, which burnt down in 1793. In 2009, Lord and Lady Cowdray reportedly decided to put the estate on the market for £25million ($31m), but decided they couldn't part with the property and instead started hosting luxury events there, with Cowdray Hall now serving as a wellness center.

Cowdray Hall offers spiritual workshops, retreats and weekly classes, and features a chapel used for yoga, Pilates and meditation. Peregrine previously admitted that despite being the heir to the sprawling estate, which also features a farm shop and café, he does not play polo himself. He told the Daily Telegraph in 2018: 'I'm getting lessons, I grew up riding and over the next few years it's something I can see myself doing a lot more.'

'It's great to be able to observe it from a distance and see what my future role is going to be,' Peregrine said. Peregrine's own children will not grow up on the Cowdray Estate due to it being transformed into an events venue, but Peregrine said he isn't upset at the prospect as he looked towards the future. 'Having heard the stress of managing these type of houses, it's the perfect compromise,' he told the Telegraph.

After their split, Olympia, the only daughter of Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece and his wife, Marie-Chantal Miller, 'unfollowed' Peregrine on Instagram. She also deleted all traces of him on her account on the picture-sharing app. 'They grew apart,' a source told the Daily Mail's Richard Eden at the time. Olympia's grandfather is King Constantine, a relation of the late Prince Philip, who was exiled from Greece following the 1967 coup. The family continue to use their royal titles decades after the abolition of the monarchy. The couple had not been seen in public together since November 2022, and did not holiday together this year after three consecutive summers of doing so. Instead, the Princess visited Italy and Greece with family and friends including actress Poppy Delevingne, who has been linked to her brother Prince Constantine Alexios. Meanwhile, Peregrine spent his summer with pals in Cow Neck, New York state, as well as in Spain with family. He also went to the Burning Man festival in Nevada.

However, Olympia looked far from downcast as she spent time with celebrity chef Straker. Olympia and Straker, who runs a restaurant in Notting Hill, appeared to be joking and laughing as they walked down the street together. Preferring to stay out of the spotlight, Peregrine’s Instagram is private and is followed by Jamie Redknapp and Olivia Bentley. Sophie is now listed among his followers.

In August, it emerged that Peregrine's father Lord Cowdray and his wife Marina, the Viscountess Cowdray, had separated after 36 years of marriage. 'It's highly acrimonious,' a family friend claimed to the Daily Mail's Richard Eden at the time. 'Marina has walked out of the marriage. Michael [the viscount] is devastated. The New Age stuff has changed her.' Marina, the daughter of late Tory MP John Cordle, was Michael's second wife. He was previously married to Fritzi (Ellen) Erhardt, the daughter of a German industrialist.

As well as Peregrine, the couple also have a daughter Eliza Pearson, 35, who married Ned Rocknroll - who changed his surname from Abel Smith - in 2009. Princess Beatrice was among the guests at the open-air pagan wedding ceremony led by a druid, but the pair went their separate ways just years later. Ned, a nephew of Virgin billionaire Sir Richard Branson, went on to marry actress Kate Winslet in 2012 and the couple are still together. Meanwhile, Eliza went on to marry Norwegian financier Leif Kvaal and they have three children together, according to Tatler.

Brave Mother Sacrifices Life to Rescue 4-Year-Old Son from Florida River

0

Tragedy struck in Florida when a courageous mother lost her life after rescuing her 4-year-old son from the waters of the St. Johns River. Her heroic efforts ensured that rescuers could save the boy, authorities and her family reported.

Nicole Grayson, at the age of 43, did not hesitate when her son accidentally fell into the river at Ed Stone Park, which is located to the west of DeLand. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office detailed that the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on a Saturday.

According to investigators, the boy had been playing near a wooden fence that bordered the river, when he dropped an item he had been holding. In an attempt to retrieve it, he tragically fell into the water.

Without a moment’s delay, Grayson jumped in after her son.

“My guess is he was trying to get it. He slipped in the water, deep, he slipped away in the water,” Grayson’s oldest son, Dafino Devega, told FOX 35. “And then my mom, I guess she panicked, and she went in the water and tried to save him.”

As Grayson struggled to keep her son above the surface, a witness at the park flagged down a passing boater, who threw two life preservers toward the mother and child, the sheriff’s office said.

Grayson eventually became submerged while continuing to hold her son above the water.

A frantic 911 caller told dispatchers that rescuers had managed to reach the child but were still struggling to recover his mother.

“Hey 911, can you come to Ed Stone Park?” the caller said in audio obtained by FOX 35. “We have a mother that’s drowned, and we got the baby, but we can’t get the mama.”

The boater maneuvered close enough to pull the 4-year-old aboard. The boy was unharmed, according to authorities.

Witness Jon Reaka said Grayson appeared to expend all her energy ensuring her son survived.

“She spent all her energy trying to get her kid up over the edge,” Reaka told FOX 35.

Reaka jumped over a railing and onto the boat, where he helped pull Grayson from the river. She was unresponsive when she was brought aboard.

“I jumped over the rail, jumped onto the boat and pulled the lady up onto the boat and, you know, we started CPR — I started CPR and mouth-to-mouth immediately,” Reaka said.

Emergency medical personnel took over lifesaving measures after arriving at the park. Grayson was rushed to a hospital, where efforts to revive her continued for several hours.

She died in the intensive care unit around 10 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office said.

“I tried everything I could do to save her,” Reaka told FOX 35. “You know, I feel horrible. I mean, it’s so sad what happened.”

Grayson was a mother of six whose final act reflected the fiercely protective way she had lived, her family said.

“That’s the type of mom that she was; she was a hero,” Devega said.

“My mom, she was a strong woman,” he added. “She would do anything to keep her kids safe.”

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood praised the witnesses and boater who rushed to help Grayson and her son.

“Sheriff Chitwood and the entire Volusia Sheriff’s Office send sincere thanks all who jumped in to help with the rescue, and deepest condolences to Ms. Grayson’s family and friends for their loss of a mother who gave her life to save her son,” the department said in a statement.

Chitwood said Grayson would be remembered as a hero, “not just because of her final heroic act, but because she was a mom who would do anything for her kids.”

Cam Newton Reacts Sharply to Unexpected ESPN Firing

0

Cam Newton, recently dismissed from his ESPN position, has issued a compelling caution to former athletes: establish your media presence or risk fading into obscurity. Following his termination on Tuesday, Newton’s remarks have struck a chord.

As part of a significant wave of layoffs at ESPN, Newton found himself among other former sports icons such as Ryan Clark and Bart Scott who also faced cuts.

In August 2025, Newton had secured a multi-year contract extension with ESPN, designed to elevate his contributions to the show “First Take.” However, this agreement fell short of reaching its first anniversary.

“Without owning your media platform, you risk being overshadowed, ignored, and ultimately vanishing like dinosaurs in history,” Newton shared passionately on Tuesday via his YouTube channel.

Illustrating his point, Newton pointed to Emmanuel Acho’s trajectory. After being let go from Fox Sports, Acho found renewed success with his own venture, “Speakeasy,” showcasing the power of individual media outlets.

Newton, an 11-year NFL veteran, owns multiple podcasts including “4th&1,” a weekly sports show, and “Funky Fridays,” a lifestyle talk and relationships show, which he says he plans to keep doing.

The former Panther said he’s more passionate about his own shows then he was with ESPN because when you work for a big company you are “trying to execute it how they want you to exist,” instead of being yourself.

Newton explained, though, that he enjoyed his time with ESPN and that it was almost like an internship because of how much he learned.

“You cannot, you will not, make me hate my experience with ESPN,” Newton said.

“I did not have that education. I am a former athlete that did not study journalism when I had the opportunity to study it. … So now when you see certain things and you analyze and you start to say like this is how production works, you’d be a fool not to take your notes.”

Newton added that ESPN made networking with some of the industry’s best incredibly easy.

He said he will keep in touch with a lot of his former coworkers, whether they were on-air talents like him or behind the camera.

The college football national champion with Auburn in 2010 admitted that he was not expecting to be fired, but knows “it’s the business.”

“The day that Matt Patricia and Bill Belichick released me from the New England Patriots was the day that nothing else could surprise me in business,” Newton said.

Voters Urge Proof of Life Amid McConnell Health Rumors

0

With alarms sounding across the political landscape, American voters are urgently seeking clarity on the state of Mitch McConnell’s health after he was seen being placed into an ambulance, subsequently vanishing from the public eye.

In a revealing poll conducted by Daily Mail/JL Partners, a mere 9 percent of voters express strong confidence that the 84-year-old Kentucky senator will fulfill his current term.

Adding to the chorus of uncertainty, 17 percent of respondents claim some faith in McConnell’s ability to continue, while 24 percent hold little confidence. A significant 25 percent of participants harbor no confidence whatsoever, and 26 percent remain uncertain.

The health concerns escalated on June 14 when McConnell was hospitalized. On the very day, emergency services responded to a distress call from his residence, with dispatch communications hinting at a cardiac arrest incident.

Despite the mounting questions, the Senator’s office has neither confirmed nor clarified whether the emergency call involved McConnell, offering only sparse details regarding his health status.

His neighbors told the Daily Mail that two of the senator’s aides were ‘obviously distraught’ and ‘crying’ as he was taken to the hospital by emergency responders.

But McConnell’s staff refused for weeks to disclose why he was admitted, or the state of his condition, and the information vacuum sparked speculation and rumors online that he was dead.

The poll suggests those rumors have taken hold, with three in ten voters, 30 percent, saying it is somewhat or very believable that McConnell is no longer alive.

Only 17 percent call the claim not at all believable, while 11 percent say it is somewhat unbelievable, 24 percent say neither and 17 percent remain unsure.

As rumors about his condition began to spread online amid his month-long disappearance, McConnell released a photo alongside his wife Elaine Chao

McConnell finally broke his silence on July 12, telling Kentuckians in a letter that a fall last month left him briefly unconscious and that he has also been dealing with a mild case of pneumonia.

The senator said doctors confirmed he suffered no broken bones, concussion, heart attack, stroke, tumors or hemorrhages, and he released a photo alongside his wife Elaine Chao.

McConnell also said he was moving from the hospital to a rehabilitation center to continue regaining his strength.

Voters overwhelmingly believe the disclosure came too late, with 54 percent saying McConnell should have revealed his health problems earlier.

However, 20 percent of voters say he was right not to and 26 percent who are unsure.

The weeks of secrecy drew growing demands for information, including from Kentucky’s Democratic Governor Andy Beshear.

McConnell suffered several other health incidents in recent months, including a public fall in the US Capitol.

He was seen using a wheelchair for the better part of the year.

Fellow Republicans, such as Senate Majority Leader John Thune insisted they had recently spoken with McConnell and that he remained in good spirits.

The wave of distrust comes at a jittery moment for the aging Senate, after the sudden death of South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham.

Graham, 71, died at his Washington home on the night of July 11 just hours after returning from a trip to Ukraine.

The District of Columbia medical examiner’s preliminary findings later attributed his death to an aortic dissection.

Even with that official explanation, 37 percent of voters say they are concerned about Graham’s cause of death, while 45 percent say they are unconcerned.

The Daily Mail poll surveyed 1,021 registered voters online between July 17 and July 20, and the poll carries a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.

Gen Z Breaks Tradition: Men Surpass Women in Religious Devotion for the First Time

0

It’s no secret that younger Australians today are less inclined towards religion compared to their elders. Decades of census data have chronicled a gradual decline in religious affiliation, especially among Christians, who still comprise the largest faith group in Australia.

Interestingly, recent years have brought forth reports that challenge this downward trend. Researching religious resurgence across various nations like Japan, Thailand, China, India, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States, a surprising pattern has emerged. A number of young individuals seem to be gravitating back towards religion.

Even more intriguing, in several regions, this shift seems to be predominantly driven by young men rather than women.

To understand what was happening closer to home in Australia, I delved into the statistics. While the nation continues to move towards a more secular outlook overall, beneath this surface, Gen Z stands out. For the first time, young men are more likely than their female counterparts to embrace a religious identity.

This divide is intricately linked to political ideologies and may reflect broader trends in gender-specific political polarization.

The research

Using Australian Election Study (AES) data collected between 1987 and 2025, I examined religious affiliation across six generations:

  • the war generation (born during the 1920s)
  • builders (born 1930–1945)
  • baby boomers (1946–1960)
  • generation X (1961–1979)
  • millennials or gen Y (1980–1994)
  • and generation Z (born after 1994)

Across these cohorts, I analysed responses from 27,478 Australians.

In this analysis, I focus primarily on religious affiliation: whether respondents identify with a religion at all.

While church attendance tells us about participation in organised religion, affiliation captures something broader about identity, belonging and self-understanding.

Religious affiliation is linked to age

The overall pattern was exactly as expected: religious affiliation declines sharply across generations. Older Australians remain significantly more likely than younger Australians to identify with a religion.

The gender pattern showed for every generation from the war generation through to millennials, women are more likely than men to report a religious affiliation.

I then zoomed in on the two youngest generations to see how the gender gap in religious affiliation has evolved over time.

Millennials (gen Y) largely follow the familiar pattern seen in older generations. Both men and women have become less religious over time, but women consistently remain ahead. In the 2025 Australian Election Study, 46.2% of gen Y women reported a religious affiliation compared with 40.3% of gen Y men.

Gen Z tells a different story.

In the 2025 survey, 55.7% of gen Z men reported a religious affiliation, compared with 43.2% of gen Z women.

And this is more than just a one-off quirk. While religious affiliation among gen Y men remained relatively stable between 2019 and 2025 (41.0% to 40.3%), affiliation among gen Z men rose from 35.3% in 2019 to 49.1% in 2022 and 55.7% in 2025.

The pattern survives after accounting for other influences. It’s also still present when political ideology, parental birthplace, marital status and place of residence are controlled for.

The gen Z sample is smaller than those for older generations, meaning the estimates are less precise. Even so, the result remains statistically significant and points to a markedly different religious landscape among the youngest cohort of Australian voters.

Gender, politics, or both?

The obvious next question is: why? I wanted to know whether the emerging gender gap was really about gender, or whether it reflected deeper political differences between young men and women.

To explore this, I estimated a second model that incorporated gender, generation and political ideology together. Here, the reference group was right-leaning gen Z men, allowing me to compare every other gender-generation-ideology combination against arguably the most religious segment of the youngest generation.

The results suggest political identity plays an important role in shaping the new religious divide. Religious affiliation was highest among older Australians on the political right, particularly women from the war and builder generations.

At the other end of the spectrum, the least religious groups were found among younger Australians on the political left. Left-identifying gen Z women were the least likely to be religious. Left-identifying gen Y men and women also displayed comparatively low levels of religiosity.

This finding echoes a pattern scholars have increasingly documented across many democracies. Young women are becoming more progressive while young men are drifting in a more conservative direction. The growing gender gap in religion may be part of the same broader realignment.

One other finding that was particularly striking was that women remained more religious among older generations regardless of political beliefs.

Yet among gen Z, the gap appears to be concentrated among those on the political left.

In other words, the story is not simply that gen Z women are less religious than gen Z men. It is that left-leaning gen Z women appear especially likely to reject religious affiliation, while right-leaning gen Z men remain comparatively attached to it.

Why might this be happening?

I suspect the answer has less to do with church attendance and more to do with identity.

Religion may increasingly function as a source of belonging, meaning and community, particularly for young men. In a world characterised by economic insecurity, social isolation and uncertainty about traditional masculine roles, religion can offer purpose, structure and a sense of place.

Research suggests religion may even help buffer the psychological stress associated with feeling disconnected from conventional expectations of masculinity. Religion offers not only beliefs, but a framework for understanding oneself.

The online world may be amplifying this trend. Social media has made religion more visible, accessible and culturally relevant in ways that do not necessarily require institutional participation.

Influencers, podcasts, self-help figures and online communities increasingly blend spirituality, personal development and cultural commentary. For some young men, religion may therefore serve as a social identity before it becomes a religious practice.

For many young women, however, the trend appears to move in the opposite direction. Gen Z women are more progressive and more likely to embrace feminist values than previous generations.

So while Australia is not experiencing a religious revival in the conventional sense, religion appears to be becoming increasingly tied to the same gendered political divide reshaping many other aspects of social life.

Carter Efe Claims Peller’s Spotify Block Keeps Him From Hearing Certain Songs

Nigerian comedian Carter Efe has found himself in an unexpected digital feud with fellow comedian Peller, who allegedly has blocked him on several online platforms.

This alleged block has notably influenced Efe’s Spotify experience, preventing him from accessing Peller’s music, providing an intriguing twist to their virtual clash.

The digital dilemma unfolded when Efe attempted to enjoy Asake’s popular song “WA” on Spotify, only to be met with an alert stating that another user was already listening to it, adding a layer of mystery to the situation.

In an interview with Tunde Perry, Efe described the impact of these blocks on his streaming habits. The limitation extended to Peller’s music, fundamentally altering Efe’s access to his colleague’s content on the platform.

Speaking with Tunde Perry, Carter Efe claimed that he could no longer listen to songs being played by Peller on the streaming platform. He explained that when he tried to play Asake’s song “WA”, Spotify showed a notification indicating that another user was already listening to the track.

“Peller blocked me on all platforms. Any song that he listens to on Spotify, I can’t listen to it. I tried to play Asake’s WA and Spotify notified me that a user is playing this song. I had to just move forward,” Carter Efe said.

Armed Suspects Arrested; Masked Intruders Caught at Carver Gardens

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The tranquillity of Carver Gardens was shattered yesterday when three young adults and three teenagers from Ocala were taken into custody by local authorities. Among those arrested were 19-year-olds Zarek Roi Clark and Bernard Lorenzo Little Jr., along with 18-year-old Luisel Lopez-Pagan. Joining them were juveniles Jyzekiel Gillans, 16; Jaheim Sylvain, 15; and Jaylen Jermaine Little, 17.

According to a detailed arrest report, Carver Gardens has recently been a hotspot for “numerous” incidents involving armed confrontations. The location, situated at 1101 SE 15th Street, has been the backdrop for frequent disturbances involving weapons.

On the afternoon of July 20, around 2:18 p.m., a torrent of calls inundated emergency services. Concerned residents reported that a gray Dodge Durango, sporting heavily tinted windows, was careening recklessly through their community. Armed, masked figures reportedly emerged from the vehicle, setting a wave of fear through the apartment complex.

Officers from the Gainesville Police Department swiftly located the suspect vehicle, and their investigation revealed a suspicious absence of the car’s license plate. This attempt to obscure the vehicle’s registration suggested the occupants had intentions far removed from innocence.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and reported that multiple people in the vehicle refused to identify themselves.

Security cameras at Carver Gardens reportedly show the Durango entering the complex and driving to the east near buildings 9 and 10; the Durango stops, and an unidentified black male approaches the passenger window and appears to hand the passenger something before running away. The Durango turns around and backs into the road between buildings 4 and 5, and two black males wearing black hoodies and black shorts get out and chase the unidentified male toward building 3.

The unidentified male runs up the stairs and enters an apartment, and another four black males get out of the Durango and walk toward building 3 before reconvening near the Durango and walking toward building 5. Multiple members of the group can be seen clutching their waistbands in a manner consistent with concealing firearms.

The group appears to get into an argument with several people outside an apartment before getting back into the Durango and leaving the complex. All of the suspects were either wearing masks or had a hoodie pulled over their head to conceal their faces.

During the traffic stop, officers reportedly smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, and an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team responded and conducted a sniff, resulting in an alert for illegal substances.

A search of the vehicle reportedly produced a marijuana “blunt” and a stolen pistol that was concealed under the third row of seats. Officers noted that this “confirmed… that the group manifestly endeavored to conceal the object (firearm) upon fleeing Carver Gardens.”

A witness reportedly identified Gillans as having a pistol, and he has been charged with aggravated assault.

Post Miranda, Clark reportedly said he was at Carver Gardens to help intimidate the person who previously attacked one of the people in the Durango. He admitted that he had no lawful reason to be at the complex and admitted to wearing a mask during the incident.

Clark, who told Court Services he is a Bethune-Cookman University student, has been charged with loitering/prowling. He has no criminal history, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $45,000.

Post Miranda, Little reportedly said he drove the group to Carver Gardens to drop off Gillans, who was beaten up a few days ago by a grown man, so he was staying with Little for protection. Little said that when they brought Gillans back, they saw the man who had battered him and decided to scare him. Little confirmed that the group put on their masks, got out of the Durango, and went to the building where the man was located. He said none of them had firearms during the incident. He said he owned the Durango, but he wouldn’t say how the stolen firearm got into the vehicle or who had possessed the firearm. When the officer told him the occupants of the rear seat could be charged for possession of the firearm, he reportedly said he would take the charge. He said they were initially just trying to scare the man who had attacked Gillans, but they “were going whichever direction the male went with the confrontation.”

The officer noted that Little, as one of the three adults in the Durango, could have tried to stop the juveniles from committing loitering/prowling and aggravated assault, but instead he decided to help them by driving them to Carver Gardens and putting on a mask with them.

Little has been charged with loitering/prowling and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. His criminal history was not posted because one of the charges involves a minor; Judge Miller-Jones set bail at $65,000.

Post Miranda, Lopez-Pagan reportedly said they went to Carver Gardens “to see what was going on” regarding a previous incident; he said they were not going to harm anyone and were just there to drop off his friend, who lived there. He later reportedly said he didn’t know anything at all about the incident, and then he changed his story again and said the group went to the complex with the intention of fighting.

Lopez-Pagan has been charged with loitering/prowling. He has no criminal history, and Judge Miller-Jones set bail at $45,000.

The charges for the other juveniles are not public.
