Zendaya Dazzles in Black, White, and Red During ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Press Tour

Zendaya may not have spider powers, but her fashion sense is definitely sharp right now.

Emerging from her whirlwind “The Drama” press tour, the renowned actress and her stylist Law Roach have drawn fashion inspiration from the timeless wedding adage: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Though no strangers to making heads turn on the red carpet with themes like the tennis-focused “Challengers” or the high-tech vibes of “Dune,” Zendaya and Roach’s latest style endeavor for her film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” continues their trend of thematic dressing.

In her past outings for the beloved Spider-Man franchise, Zendaya has previously embraced arachnid inspirations. This time, however, she channels the web-slinger himself—played by her husband, Tom Holland—with a striking color palette of black, white, and red, carried stylishly from Spain to London.

Take a look below to explore the eye-catching ensembles the star has donned while bringing her latest project to life.

June 15

Zendaya kicked off the press tour in Madrid, wearing a black fringed Christian Cowan fall 2026 dress featuring an asymmetric high-low hemline.

She paired the look with diamond-and-sapphire Stefere earrings, a Rolex Lady-Datejust watch and her trusty Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps.

Later in the same day, Zendaya traded black for red, wearing a mockneck dress by Spanish designer Ernesto Naranjo with the same wrist jewelry and a red version of her go-to heels.

June 17

Heading over to Amsterdam, Zendaya posed at a photo call in a black, white and red Louis Vuitton resort 2027 look that included a miniskirt, high-low jacket and white So Kates. She added Tiffany & Co. jewelry and her trusty Rolex.

That night, she attended a fan event at the premiere in a semi-sheer Alexander McQueen minidress with striking lace detail under a dramatic coat.

June 18

While doing interviews in London, she went more literal with a semi-sheer Rodarte dress featuring a bedazzled spider in a web.

Zendaya layered the puff-sleeved look over trousers, and went for the same watch and shoe combination.

June 22

In Berlin, Zendaya first went sporty, then sleek. She kicked off the day at a photo call in a Coach runway look that included a plaid midi skirt and a varsity-inspired top.

Later in the day, she showed off her abs in a custom Louis Vuitton black leather cropped vest and low-slung skirt. She paired the set with enormous spiderweb earrings by Lydia Courteille set with sapphires, aquamarines and tanzanites, along with a matching sapphire-and-aquamarine ring.

June 23

When Zendaya touched down in Rome, she fittingly dipped into the archives of two famous Italian brands.

She wore a vintage Versace red-and-blue look from the brand’s fall 1997 collection that showed a sliver of midriff and was covered in sparkles, adding additional bling by way of A.Jaffe diamond stud earrings.

That night, she went with a 1990 Giorgio Armani spiderweb-covered gown paired with Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti snake earrings.

June 24

In Paris, Zendaya kept things surprisingly casual. She stepped out during France’s heat wave in a vintage Spider-Man T-shirt — and nothing else.

Stylist Law Roach revealed that he purchased the oversized tee on eBay for $36.

June 25

From a simple tee to a vintage dream. Over in London, Zendaya stunned in a 1997 John Galliano slip dress covered in celestial artwork. She added bling with a body chain around her chest and back, including a massive spider web draped across her shoulder blades.

She added Tiffany & Co. hoop earrings to complete the look.

July 17

After taking a break to promote “The Odyssey,” which also stars Holland, Zendaya returned for a final push to the Spider-verse. She wore a shirt and pant set from The Row’s resort 2027 collection for a day of press in NYC.

July 17

At a NYC photo call, she wore a Vetements suit first modeled on the runway by Sharon Stone, along with diamond spiderweb earrings by Jacob & Co. and dramatic red eye makeup.

July 20

In Mexico City, Z went for gothic glamour in an Ashi Studio Couture black lace gown and an Elvira-esque bouffant and baby bangs.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” hits theaters July 31.

Ann Widdecombe Brutally Attacked: Hammer Assault Leaves Former MP Injured

0

In a shocking incident that unfolded on camera, Ann Widdecombe suffered a brutal attack where she was struck 21 times with a hammer in just two minutes, a court was informed today.

Accused of this heinous crime is 28-year-old Joshua Kerry, who allegedly entered the home of the former Tory minister and Brexit Party MEP in Dartmoor through an unsecured front door. The attack reportedly took place while she was having lunch in her kitchen.

Prosecutor Kashif Malik described how Kerry rummaged through Widdecombe’s handbag, took off with her wallet, and exited the premises, all within a mere 120 seconds.

Tragically, it was not until approximately 24 hours later that Widdecombe was discovered lying face down on her kitchen floor by her gardener.

Allegedly, Kerry was caught on a Ring doorbell camera arriving at the property in his red Vauxhall Corsa. Another camera in the hallway is said to have captured the violent assault on the politician with a hammer.

The 78-year-old was eating lunch shortly before a pre-arranged Zoom interview that was due to be broadcast live on Channel 5’s Matt Allwright show at 12.50pm on July 8.

Prosecutors say Kerry drove 300 miles to Dartmoor from his home in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, and entered the property wearing gloves with a hammer hidden behind his back.

He is alleged to have confronted Miss Widdecombe as she ate, asking her: ‘Don’t suppose you have bank cards and ID?’

He then struck her 21 times on the top of her head.

The 28-year-old is said to have then tipped her from her chair on to the kitchen floor before stealing her wallet.

Just two minutes after entering the politician’s home, Kerry was back in his car and driving away from the scene, prosecutors say.

Around 24 hours later, on July 9, Miss Widdecombe’s gardener found her lying face-down on the kitchen floor with a severe head injury.

He had been asked to check on her by her personal assistant after she was unable to contact her. The front door was open and held back by a doorstop.

Paramedics were called to the property and confirmed she had died. Police arrived at 12.01pm.

After the red Vauxhall Corsa was traced to Rotherham, Kerry was arrested at his home at 9.07pm on suspicion of murder. He was later further arrested under the Terrorism Act.

Police searches of the property recovered a hammer and a pair of gloves from a bin, prosecutors said.

A mobile phone seized from the defendant allegedly contained photographs taken on the day of Miss Widdecombe’s murder showing her driving licence and bank cards, which prosecutors say were stolen after the attack.

Today Joshua Kerry spoke only to confirm his name and address when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

He did not enter a plea during the short hearing.

Kerry sat in a grey prison issue tracksuit with his arms folded as details of the case were read out by the prosecutor.

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring directed that he appear later this afternoon for another preliminary hearing at the Old Bailey.

Mr Goldspring told Kerry: ‘You’re charged with an offence of murder which can only be dealt with in a crown court.’

He added: ‘You are therefore remanded into custody and sent to crown court.’

Immediately after the hearing Kerry was taken to a prison van to be transported to the Old Bailey.

Meanwhile his lawyer was taken in a police car with blue flashing lights to the Central Criminal Court ahead of a hearing due to take place at 3pm.

It came as the coroner in Ann Widdecombe’s inquest claimed the cause of her death is still yet to be established.

Senior coroner for Devon Philip Spinney said the ‘precise’ reason the former Tory minister died has not been confirmed, although she had ‘visible injuries’.

She was found dead at her rural property after becoming ‘uncontactable’, prompting a member of staff to carry out a welfare check at her Dartmoor home on July 9, the inquest heard.

Kerry arrived at Westminster Magistrates' Court around the same time the inquest into Miss Widdecombe's death opened

Kerry arrived at Westminster Magistrates’ Court around the same time the inquest into Miss Widdecombe’s death opened

A post-mortem examination has taken place but ‘at this stage the precise medical cause of death is yet to be established’, Mr Spinney said, as he opened, then adjourned, the inquest.

The coroner confirmed a post-mortem has taken place but said the medical cause of death has yet to be established.

Concerns were raised after she missed a media interview the previous day and subsequently proved uncontactable.

A statement from Coroner’s Officer Sarah Haworth said: ‘Concerns were raised that she was uncontactable and an employee who was due at the home address was asked to conduct a welfare check.

‘She was found to be unresponsive with visible injuries.

‘The post-mortem examination has taken place and at this stage of the process the precise medical cause of death has yet to be established.’

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 12.20pm on July 9.

Mr Spinney said he would suspend the inquest until the conclusion of criminal proceedings and added: ‘It is plain that Miss Widdecombe was much loved and greatly missed.

‘I’d like to offer my condolences to the family of Miss Widdecombe.’

Tennessee Ranks Top in Nation for Swift Credit Card Debt Reduction: New Study Reveals Insights

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — When it comes to managing credit card debt, Tennesseans are leading the charge in quickly eradicating balances, a recent study reveals.

In research conducted by WalletHub, Tennessee emerged as 40th in the nation for the slowest payoff times. This ranking highlights the state’s strength and resilience in consumer debt management, placing it among the top contenders nationally.

With the state’s median credit card balance resting at $2,802 and a median income of $54,307, it’s possible for the average Tennessean to completely pay off their credit card debt in an impressive 11 months and 16 days.

This rapid repayment is largely due to Tennesseans prioritizing higher monthly payments compared to residents in many other states, contributing to their efficient debt management.

While the Volunteer State’s favorable debt-to-income margins help some residents rapidly pay down debt, the rising cost of living is eroding gains for others.

Recent data from the Center for Microeconomic Data shows the average Tennessee adult owed $530 more in inflation-adjusted debt at the end of 2025 than the previous year.

In addition to emergencies like unexpected medical expenses, car repairs, and home repairs, experts have pointed to impulse buying as a common behavior landing consumers in credit card debt.

“It is so easy to purchase anything online or on your phone with a single click or tap,” explained Landmark College professor Jeanette Landin. “Often, that purchase is impulse-driven, and people do not always have a plan to repay the credit card balance.”

To better prepare for unpredictable financial difficulties, Landin recommends saving up an emergency fund, creating a budget, and reviewing household finances regularly.

“Look at your insurance coverages and benefits, bank and credit balances, and goals,” Landin said. “Getting rid of credit card debt does not mean you have to stop enjoying life – just plan for it wisely and use the tools already available to you.”

Weather Update: Warm Tuesday Followed by Increased Rainfall Later This Week

In the charming city of Savannah, Georgia, we’re greeted this Tuesday morning by the warm and enthusiastic demeanor of StormTeam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley. She invites us to embrace what promises to be a delightful day.

The day began with a sultry morning as temperatures lingered from the upper 70s to the low 80s before the sun peeked over the horizon. As today unfolds under a blend of sunshine and clouds, temperatures are set to climb swiftly into the 90s by midday. While high temperatures hover in the typical range of the low to mid-90s, the heat index could soar up to an oppressive 105 degrees. The day brings with it a hot, breezy wind, gusting up to 25 mph, with little relief from the heat beyond the occasional, isolated storm.

Wednesday paints a picture much like today, with high pressure off the coast spreading its influence across our region. This system is steering Tropical Storm Bertha westward along the Gulf Coast. Our dry and humid conditions are maintained by this high pressure, keeping temperatures locked in the mid-90s. Similar to today, only a few stray storms might pop up in the afternoon.

As we inch closer to the weekend, changes are on the horizon. By Thursday afternoon and evening, scattered storms begin to reappear, thanks to a cold front inching slowly across the Southeast near Tropical Storm Bertha. This front could draw some tropical moisture into its fold, bolstering our chances for rain, though high temperatures will still hover in the mid-90s.

Heading into Friday and Saturday, this cold front attempts to make its way through the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, bringing a more pronounced likelihood of scattered showers and storms over both days. The temperatures will offer a slight reprieve, moderating to the upper 80s and low 90s. By late weekend into the start of next week, the rain chances are expected to dwindle.

TROPICS: As of 8am, Tropical Storm Bertha has winds of 50mph and is nearly stationary as it crawls NW at 5 mph. It is expected to strengthen through the day before interacting with the Gulf Coast states late in the week. This interaction will gradually weaken Bertha before the storm falls apart across Louisiana into Texas. 2-4″ of rain is expected across parts of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, & Texas. Luckily, it looks like the soaking and major flooding rain threat remains offshore.

Singer D4vd’s Shocking Charges: Judge to Examine Evidence in Grisly Teen Murder Case

LOS ANGELES (AP) — In a significant development today, a judge will determine whether singer D4vd, legally known as David Burke, will face trial for the alleged murder and dismemberment of a 14-year-old girl. The incident reportedly involved threats from the victim to reveal their relationship.

According to prosecutors, the evidence suggests that 21-year-old Burke brought the teenager, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, to his rented Hollywood Hills residence where he allegedly stabbed her multiple times. Further accusations involve the use of chainsaws to dismember her body in the garage.

The preliminary hearing in Los Angeles is anticipated to proceed over four days, with courtroom proceedings resembling a condensed trial. However, there will be no jury present as Judge Charlaine Olmedo evaluates whether sufficient evidence exists for a formal trial.

The hearing will resemble a mini trial

This marks the first time evidence against Burke will be publicly presented since his arrest in April. He faces serious charges, including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. Blair Berk, his attorney, maintains that Burke is not responsible for Rivas Hernandez’s death.

Burke, who remains in custody without bail at a nearby jail, will attend the hearing dressed in jail attire. The judge denied a request for him to wear a suit, a privilege typically granted during jury trials. Additionally, the court has prohibited cameras from the proceedings.

Soon after his arrest, prosecutors filed a memo, which the defense unsuccessfully tried to have sealed, outlining what their evidence would show at this hearing.

The defendant and the victim had known each other several years

The filing said Burke met Rivas Hernandez when she was 11, began sexually abusing her when she was 13 and he was 18, and killed her when she threatened to report him.

She was reported missing multiple times in the years before her death, and prosecutors said they have evidence she was with Burke for long stretches, including a trip to Texas where she met his family. Detectives had contacted him about her, but authorities say he lied and said he had only met her once and didn’t know she was a minor. Prosecutors said they have sexual text messages and photos the two exchanged.

A court filing said he sent a car to pick her up on the night of April 23, 2025, from her hometown of Lake Elsinore, California, some 80 miles (129 km) outside of Los Angeles. The two exchanged messages until she arrived at his Hollywood home, after which her phone went dead.

“Knowing he had to silence the victim before she ruined his music career as she had threatened, very soon after her arrival at his home, defendant stabbed the victim to death multiple times and stood by while she bled out,” the document said.

Prosecutors say they have evidence linking Burke to girl’s death

Prosecutors said they have records showing Burke ordered chain saws and wading pools that he used to dismember her body in his garage, and that her DNA was found there on blood stains discovered when police served a search warrant.

They said he then drove around for months with the body in the trunk. About four months after her death, her decomposing body was found in the Tesla registered to Burke that had been towed from the Hollywood Hills in September.

Prosecutors said the car was parked around the corner from his house, and surveillance video will show he was the last person to drive it.

It’s not entirely clear why it took seven more months to arrest Burke — though uncooperative witnesses had to be subpoenaed and the final autopsy report showing she was stabbed was not released until December.

The defense has not publicly provided its version of events.

Preliminary hearings like this one serve a similar function to that of grand jury proceedings. Prosecutors generally present only as much evidence as they think they need to, and witnesses are kept to a minimum — mostly police and other investigators. For defense attorneys, it can provide ways to explore potential weaknesses in witness testimony that they can exploit at a trial.

D4vd had budding music career

D4vd began making music for YouTube videos he created of the video game Fortnite when he was a teenager.

The songs he wrote and recorded on his phone were a blend of indie rock, R&B and lo-fi pop. The music made him a phenomenon on TikTok, Instagram, Soundcloud and Spotify, where his top songs, including his 2022 breakthrough “Romantic Homicide,” have more than a billion plays. In 2023, he released two EPs and opened for SZA on tour.

He performed at last year’s Coachella music festival just a few weeks before prosecutors said Rivas Hernandez was killed, and his album was released. Five months later, he was on tour promoting it when the body was discovered.

Shelbyville’s New Childcare Facility Nears Completion: ‘It’s Coming, It’s Real

SHELBY COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Shelby County is poised to see a significant boost in its childcare facilities, thanks to a generous building donation from a local bank and financial contributions from businesses across Central Illinois.

In the coming months, nearly 100 young children will step into a new learning environment designed to ready them for elementary school. So far, the effort has raised $700,000. However, organizers emphasize the need to gather an additional $1.5 million to convert the former bank into the Shelby County Early Learning Center.

Shannon Shallenberger, Vice Chair of the Shelby County Childcare Consortium and Shelbyville Schools’ Early Childhood Director, is spearheading efforts to address childcare needs in the area—a cause close to her heart.

“Recognizing the issue, local leaders and individuals came together to form this consortium, aiming to raise awareness and address the lack of childcare options,” Shallenberger commented.

For a decade, families, school staff members and companies alike have been working to bring a childcare center to Shelbyville.

“There are parents that are choosing either the mom or dad to stay home and work, not because that’s best for them financially, but just because they can’t find childcare,” said Shallenberger.

Although there were discussions about building the center, that plan was discarded due to the $4 million price tag.

“That was kind of hard to raise in a small town,” Shallenberger said.

But an opportunity of a lifetime came along when the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Shelbyville decided to move.

“First Federal Savings and Loan had moved to the Main Street location, and they had this building available and some generous members of the community decided to donate it to us,” Shallenberger explained.

That donation dropped the price from $4 million to $1.5 million, with businesses coming in to cover the cost.

“Businesses in town have been donating on it… will be donating on a yearly basis to kind of offset the costs for parents,” said Shallenberger.

She said the city has been listening to the people, and now she is excited to see everyone’s wishes come true.

“It’s coming, it’s real. We have a building and we have plans, and the architect,” said Shallenberger.

She said the remodeling will start soon and the facility should be open next summer. The early learning center can have up to 99 children at a time, and 20 people will be on staff.

Police Investigate Incident of Autistic Child Found Alone in Parking Lot

In Florida, a 40-year-old mother faces accusations of neglect after her autistic, nonverbal daughter was discovered nearly a third of a mile from her home. The child, wearing a heavily soiled diaper and just one shoe, was found by concerned passersby in a shopping center parking lot.

Earlier this month, authorities arrested Amy Brooke Evans, charging her with child abuse due to simple neglect, as documented in court records.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Leesburg Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly before noon on July 9 to a Lake County shopping center. The department had received reports describing a solitary child in the parking area “with a soiled diaper, wearing one shoe, and no parents seen nearby.”

The individual who alerted the police recounted finding the child alone and led her into a department store for safety. The witness noted the child appeared nonverbal with a “severe mental disability.” Upon failing to locate a parent or guardian after a search, they reached out to 911 for assistance.

Another shopper similarly told investigators the child walked up and knocked on her vehicle window. She said there were no adults nearby and noticed feces smeared on a jacket the child was carrying.

According to the affidavit, officers found the child with fecal residue on the body and clothing. Police also wrote that the child’s diaper was “heavily soiled” and “appeared to have not been changed in the last 24 hours.”

Investigators further reported observing multiple bruises on the child’s arms and legs, along with several wounds to the arms, legs and hands. Because the child is severely autistic and nonverbal, officers summoned paramedics, who transported the child to a hospital for further evaluation.

The affidavit notes that multiple people at the shopping center observed the child wandering outside before police arrived.

While officers were investigating, dispatch received a 911 call from Evans reporting the child missing from a residence about 0.3 miles away. According to police, Evans said she had taken a shower for “no more than an hour” while her boyfriend slept on the couch. When she finished showering and went to change clothes, she realized the child was gone.

Investigators said Evans declined to provide a written statement and gave inconsistent answers about where she lived. Officers also noted that she appeared “apprehensive, fidgeting, leaning excessively, and would ‘zone out'” during questioning, behavior they believed suggested she “may have been under the influence of narcotics.”

Police further wrote that when asked for a recent picture of the missing child, Evans showed officers only a picture that was taken more than a year prior, and she claimed the child had become autistic and nonverbal “out of the blue.”

The affidavit also describes inconsistencies between Evans’ account and those given by her boyfriend.

A roommate told investigators Evans did not appear especially concerned after discovering the child was gone and seemed “more concerned with taking a shower first and becoming presentable before calling the police to report the victim missing.” The roommate also reportedly told officers that while the child usually had a clean diaper, the youngster “always appears dirty and unkempt” and expressed doubt that Evans knew how to adequately care for the child.

Hospital staff later found what appeared to be a cigarette burn on the child’s left arm, according to the affidavit. Medical personnel also documented numerous bruises and scars, though they indicated many of those injuries could have been self-inflicted. Staff further told officers the child’s diaper appeared not to have been changed for several hours.

Investigators concluded Evans willfully failed to provide the supervision and care required for a severely autistic, nonverbal child by allowing the youngster to remain unsupervised for about an hour, wander approximately 0.3 miles from home, and remain in a heavily soiled diaper.

She was booked into the Lake County Jail on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court for her arraignment on Aug. 3.

Congress Scrutinizes ABA’s DEI Standards Linked to Law School Accreditation

0

In a move garnering attention, Congress has scheduled a hearing to investigate whether the American Bar Association (ABA) is leveraging its significant power in law school accreditation to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the legal sector.

Heading the charge is Rep. Brandon Gill from Texas, who, as the chairman of the House Oversight Committee’s Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Constitutional Abuses, has set the hearing for Wednesday. During this session, ABA President Michelle A. Behnke will be called upon to explain the organization’s sway over law school accreditation processes.

“DEI represents a misguided ideology that fosters unlawful bias and unfairly deprives qualified Americans of career and educational opportunities,” Gill remarked. “The ABA has misused its accreditation powers to impose detrimental, and occasionally illegal, DEI-driven policies and curriculum across U.S. law schools.”

Gill went further, asserting that the ABA’s backing of DEI initiatives has resulted in the education of lawyers who seem to prioritize activism over adherence to legal principles.

The task force has laid out the goal of exploring “how Congress can help permanently eliminate DEI policies within American institutions, including the legal profession and academy.”

The ABA’s accreditation system gives it considerable influence over legal education. Its Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar is the only accreditor of Juris Doctor programs recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, and graduation from an ABA-approved law school is the standard path to taking the bar exam in most states.

In the hearing, Behnke is expected to argue that the council operates independently of the broader ABA, a distinction she made clear in a June 1 statement.

Despite the council’s decision in May to repeal certain diversity and inclusion standards for law schools, Behnke said the ABA still has an “unwavering” commitment to DEI, comments that Gill and other committee members are likely to scrutinize.

Michelle A. Behnke

“The legal profession is strongest when it draws on the experiences, talents and perspectives of people from every background and every community,” Behnke said last month. “Diversity does not weaken our profession. It deepens it. It broadens understanding, strengthens public trust and helps ensure the law serves all people fairly and fully.”

President Donald Trump has put pressure on law firms and other American companies to end DEI practices.

However, even before Trump returned to the White House last January, the ABA accreditation council was already considering revising Standard 206 of the ABA Standards and Rules of Procedure for Approval of Law Schools. A November 2024 revision called for removing sections including a requirement for law schools to “demonstrate by concrete action a commitment to diversity and inclusion by having a faculty and staff that are diverse with respect to gender, race, and ethnicity.”

In August 2024, the council began revising Standard 206 to remove language expressly permitting the consideration of race and ethnicity in admissions.

The revisions also clarified that law schools were not required to consider race or other identity characteristics in individual admissions decisions.

In May 2026, the ABA’s accreditation council voted to repeal Standard 206, which had already been suspended since February 2025.
