The story I shared yesterday reminds me of three Ugandan boys I met at the Christian programme in Kenya. Those boys were probably hungrier for God than any of us at that programme. During break times, while everyone was buying sandwiches, those three boys would sit together, singing praises to God. I asked why they never ate when everyone else ate, and they responded that food was not their concern. Firstly, they had no money to buy food. Secondly, they said they were praying to return safely and not get arrested or even executed by the then-Ugandan military ruler upon their return. For three days, they had eaten nothing and were just glad to be there. For the rest of our stay, whatever little I had, I shared with them. I told them to write to me when they got back home safely, and they did to the glory of God.
Your hunger for God should be such that you won’t even remember to eat when it is time to seek Him. You should be so hungry for God that you are willing to risk your life just to know Him more. I get amazed anytime we call a fast, and some people grumble. They are not hungry for God enough to fast for just a few days in the year to draw closer to Him.

In our text, God instructed Moses about this vital ceremony commemorating Israel’s escape from Egyptian bondage. “And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, that they should keep the passover.” They were to celebrate the Passover in remembrance of their preservation and protection in Egypt.
Moses had no opinion on this, just as our opinion about the word of God is irrelevant. We are to give people God’s instructions without adulteration or modification. Moses’ devotion to His directives highlights the sacredness of these injunctions. They are not Moses’ words but God’s words. They are to be treated with reverence, received by faith and carried out obediently without any question. Due to the sacredness of God’s word, gospel ministers and preachers must realise the great responsibility He reposed in them to teach and preach what He said without muddling up the instructions, however difficult that may be for them.
We must show gratitude to God in all of His dealings with us and our encounters with Him. Like Israel, we are to express our appreciation by responding to His word promptly, joyfully and obediently. God’s commands must always be our commission. Nothing less, nothing else.

The owner of the buyer’s account was reportedly identified as 15-year-old Kemeon Lee, who has now been charged as a juvenile with armed robbery and murder, and Lee’s account reportedly messaged Fries at 8:37 p.m., saying he was “finna come out der.” Officers also reported that there were two Instagram calls from Lee to Fries at 8:38 p.m. and 8:52 p.m. and that the messages from Lee were the only messages on Fries’ Instagram in the hours leading up to his murder.

Lee reportedly said that after he messaged Fries, he overheard Lawson and Freeney talking about robbing Fries, saying, “We gonna come up both sides.” Lee reportedly said that when they got to Pointe 23, he got into the front seat of Fries’ car and was in the process of buying marijuana when Lawson came up on the passenger side of the car with a gun and Freeney came up on the driver’s side. He said Fries grabbed his own gun and started shooting at Lawson, then Freeney shot Fries. Lee reportedly said he got out of Fries’ car and ran to Chelsea Apartments, where their friend was waiting in the SUV.
Post Miranda, Freeney reportedly said he was with Lawson and Lee on the night of the shooting and that Lee had made arrangements to buy marijuana from Fries. He said that after Lee got into Fries’ car, he was taking a long time, so Lawson walked up on the passenger side of the car and he walked up on the driver’s side of the car to check on Lee. Freeney reportedly said Lawson tried to open the passenger side door, and Fries starting shooting at Lawson; he said he had a gun for protection purposes and shot once through the driver’s side window, hitting Fries. Freeney said he shot Fries to defend Lawson and that he ran away after firing his gun and threw the gun into a nearby pond. Freeney denied any plans to rob Fries and said he later learned that Lawson’s gun had been hit by Fries’ shot.
Freeney is a convicted felon who is on probation in Georgia for aggravated assault; according to court documents, he has been in the area for about three months. He has been charged with armed robbery, murder, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
