After a wakeboarding accident at Lake Gaston, Logan Aldridge, an adaptive CrossFit competitor, needed to have his left arm amputated. Logan, then just 13 years old, was present on June 26, 2004, when the incident took place.

After a day of wakeboarding, he and his father were dropping off a friend at their neighbor’s dock. Logan was poised to disentangle the tow rope that was still fastened to the boat as he stood on the back of it.

The rope’s end floated below the boat when it was idling and became entangled in the propeller. Everything went awry because he was unaware that the rope was cinched around his arm. All of his muscles were severed to the bone as his arm was ferociously pushed between the blades.

Local EMS transported Logan to South Hill Community Memorial Hospital before he was helicoptered to the UNC-Chapel Hill Medical Center. He had to wait for five and a half hours before being brought into the surgery room.

Logan Aldridge lost his arm as a result of an accident he suffered when he was very young. Logan had a lifelong passion for sports and aspirations for achievement.

His broken arms didn’t stop him from being a famous athlete. When the rope was removed from his arm because it also struck an artery, there was blood all over the place. His arm was amputated to the bone, according to Aldridge, who is now 31.

Logan was soon sent to the hospital, but they couldn’t restore blood flow by the time they arrived, so they had to amputate his left arm. Left-handed Aldridge recounted a memory with his mother on the way to the hospital that influenced how he conducts his life today.

Logan is the creator of the Adaptive Training Academy and a part-time instructor after suffering a terrible accident that had resulted in the loss of his arm. Numerous fitness trainers have taken his company’s course, which educates coaches on how to work with adaptable athletes.

Logan is still not married yet. He still hasn’t got the right person to ask her to marry him.

Dr. Vicky Conway, an academic and well-known police reform critic, has died.

The Dublin City University (DCU) School of Law issued a statement on Twitter, saying, “We are profoundly sad to have to share the loss of our colleague Vicky Conway.”
