Gainesville Man Accused of Battery After Allegedly Propositioning Lawn Care Worker

0

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Miguel Angel Rodriguez-Morgado, 57, was arrested Sunday after deputies said he allegedly touched a lawncare worker’s genitals and propositioned him while the worker was at his home.

According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was called to Rodriguez-Morgado’s residence at about 4:46 p.m. on September 7. The victim told the deputy he had been performing landscape work for Rodriguez-Morgado when Rodriguez-Morgado began flirting with him and offered him money to remain at the property.

The worker said he told Rodriguez-Morgado he was not interested and began to leave. As he was trying to go, Rodriguez-Morgado allegedly grabbed his arm and placed cash in his pocket. During that interaction, the victim reported, Rodriguez-Morgado put his hand on the victim’s genitals. The victim said he pulled away, left the property, and then called 911.

After being read his Miranda rights, Rodriguez-Morgado reportedly acknowledged touching the victim’s arm but denied grabbing his genitals.

Rodriguez-Morgado was charged with simple battery. Court records indicate he has no criminal history. Judge Susan Miller-Jones set his bail at $10,000.

Judge Moves Alex Murdaugh Murder Retrial to Nearby County

0

A South Carolina judge on Tuesday approved Alex Murdaugh’s bid to move his upcoming double-murder retrial out of its original venue.

Judge Debra McCaslin ordered that the new trial be held in Sumter County, siding with defense attorneys who maintained that extensive publicity from Murdaugh’s first trial had compromised the jury pool in Colleton County.

McCaslin said in her written order that Sumter County can provide Murdaugh with a fair trial, citing the county’s sufficient courtroom space, security arrangements and technology needed to handle the proceedings.

“The judge considered several factors including the financial impact on Colleton County, the convenience of witnesses, courthouse security, transportation and security of Murdaugh, courtroom facilities, and technological capabilities,” the order states.

Murdaugh’s attorneys had suggested Charleston or Richland County courthouses for the venue transfer before McCaslin made her ruling.

News Media has reached out to Murdaugh’s attorneys and prosecutors.

Murdaugh was granted a new trial after the South Carolina Supreme Court determined his right to a fair proceeding was violated when it found that former Colleton County Clerk of Court Becky Hill improperly influenced jurors during his 2023 murder trial.

As a result, the court unanimously overturned his 2023 convictions and two life sentences.

Murdaugh is charged with murder and weapons offenses for the June 2021 shooting deaths of his wife, Maggie, and 22-year-old son, Paul, at their family estate.

At his 2023 trial, Murdaugh admitted to misleading investigators about his location shortly before his wife and son were shot, but he has consistently denied killing either of them.

Katie Holmes Shares PDA-Filled Outing With Jason Bard Yarmosky

0

Katie Holmes and artist Jason Bard Yarmosky looked firmly in vacation mode as their summer romance continued with a sun-soaked appearance on Lake Como.

The 47-year-old actress, who shares 20-year-old daughter Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise, spent Tuesday enjoying a boating excursion with her new partner.

Holmes appeared to confirm the relationship last month when she reposted photos of herself with Yarmosky, 39, after he shared them on Instagram.

During their latest lakeside outing, the former Dawson’s Creek star showed off her toned figure in a classic white bikini while relaxing on the water.

With her dark hair worn loose, the Batman Begins actress was seen basking in the Italian sunshine and lounging on deck alongside Yarmosky.

Holmes beamed radiantly at Yarmosky and clasped his hands as she rose out of the water and clambered back onto their vessel.

The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Holmes for comment.

While they were both in the water, they were seen drifting close together, exuding an air of romantic bliss as they enjoyed the early flush of their relationship.

On deck, Holmes lay both on her back and her front, honing her tan as her bronzed and musclebound boyfriend stood nearby and took in the views.

Yarmosky, a New York native whose contemporary art has explored topics like the aging process, showed off his burly physique by going shirtless over his black swim trunks.

Last month, shortly after they went Instagram official, Holmes took Yarmosky as her date to Michael Kors’ 45th anniversary dinner in the Hamptons.

The couple clung to one another for a snap Kors posted to Instagram, and Yarmosky swanned around comfortably with members of Holmes’ showbiz circle, including such names as Naomi Watts and Christie Brinkley.

They were seen in July wearing matching navy blue to a Ferragamo dinner in the Hamptons, which they reportedly spent laughing and whispering with each other.

That month, they had also been spotted together attending the premiere of the buzzy new swinger comedy The Invite, directed by Olivia Wilde and starring her alongside Seth Rogen, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton.

‘They sat together during the movie, she had her head on his shoulder at one point,’ the source observed, adding: ‘They looked very cute.’

Since her divorce from Tom Cruise, Holmes was romantically involved with Jamie Foxx in a relationship that lasted at least six years.

Foxx and Holmes went public as a couple in late 2017, though there had been speculation they were an item since four years earlier.

There was a swirl of rumors that Holmes’ divorce agreement prohibited her from publicly dating anyone for five years after her split with Cruise in 2012.

Holmes, who shot to fame on the teen drama Dawson’s Creek, started dating Tom Cruise in 2005 and got engaged to him seven weeks into the relationship.

Their Scientologist wedding was held at the Castello Orsini-Odescalchi in Bracciano in November 2006, seven months after their daughter Suri was born.

Holmes filed in 2012 for a divorce that was finalized just 10 days later, retaining primary custody of Suri while Cruise was granted visitation.

Ron Miscavige, father of Scientology leader David Miscavige, told the Daily Mail in 2016 that Holmes’ misgivings about Scientology, including the effect it could have on Suri, contributed to her decision to leave Cruise.

The Top Gun Maverick star reportedly paid Holmes $400,000 a year until Suri’s 18th birthday, and subsequently contributed money to her college fees.

Cruise has not been pictured with his daughter in 13 years, and in 2018 it was alleged that he had created distance between himself and Suri.

‘Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to,’ an insider told Us Weekly. ‘He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist.’

Prior to Cruise, Holmes dated her Dawson’s Creek co-star Joshua Jackson from 1998 to 1999, during which time she gushed that he was her ‘first love.’

Holmes has now written and directed a movie called Happy Hours, starring her alongside Jackson in a heartwarming reunion.

When she posted an Instagram shot of the two of them together promoting the film in April, a fan commented: ‘They should be a couple’ – earning a like from Holmes.

Kimberly Van Der Beek, the widow of Dawson’s Creek leading man James Van Der Beek, also leapt into the comments of Holmes’ post to write: ‘Love this.’

Speculation exploded about a renewed romance between Holmes and Jackson, only for her to go public with Yarmosky the following month.

Massive Sinkhole Threatens Nicolas Cage’s Malibu Beachfront Mansion

0

Nicolas Cage’s Malibu home is facing a dramatic setback after a large sinkhole opened up and swallowed the driveway of the actor’s beachfront mansion.

Images from the scene show the upscale property perched beside a gaping crater, with the collapse appearing to have taken out the driveway, part of the nearby roadway and even a portable restroom.

The oceanfront residence, which Cage bought in 2024 for $10.5 million, has since been cordoned off with orange construction cones as crews deal with the damage.

Workers were also seen examining the sinkhole and the surrounding street area as they assessed the extent of the collapse.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Cage, 62, as well as the Los Angeles County Fire Department for comment, but has not yet received a response.

Firefighters discovered the collapsed driveway early Tuesday morning after responding to a suspected gas main break, a public information officer told KTLA.

The hole, which is believed to be around 30ft by 30ft wide, was reportedly the result of coastal erosion.

No one has been ordered to evacuate and the gas company has been on site fixing the main.

Notably, the damage occurred as high surf continues battering the Southern California coast following the development of former Hurricane Marie, the website adds.

KTLA reporter Rich Prickett, who was reporting on the incident from the air, said no one appeared to be inside the home at the time.

‘Substantial damage done to this home, or at least the driveway to this home here in Malibu,’ he said.

‘It doesn’t appear that anybody was home. As a matter of fact, the house looks like it is under some sort of renovation.’

No one has been reported to have been injured, according to KTLA.

Located in a highly desirable oceanfront setting, the home contains a rooftop deck with jacuzzi, soaring glass walls, multiple bedrooms, and was the previous owner’s ‘happy place.’

The home was built in the 1990s by the late Jose Liberman, co-founder of the Liberman Broadcasting, and remained in his family until it was sold to Cage.

‘Yes, Nicolas Cage bought our home in Malibu,’ Lenard Liberman, Jose’s son and Liberman Broadcasting co-founder, told The New York Times in 2024.

‘My parents would go on weekends and it was my father’s “happy place”, he explained.

‘My father passed away and my mom just couldn’t go to the house anymore. Too many memories,’ he added.

The residence contains access to an isolated beach, chef’s kitchen, and garage with elevator access.

An Oscar winner, Cage is a member of a Hollywood dynasty.

Born Nicolas Kim Coppola, Cage is the son of the late American academic and author August Coppola as well as the nephew of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and his actress sister Talia Shire.

The family includes Cage’s cousins, filmmaker Sofia Coppola and actor Jason Schwartzman.

His grandparents were composer Carmine Coppola – who scored many of Francis’s films – and Italia Coppola, who also appeared in her son’s Godfather films.

Over the decades, Cage carved out a wildly impressive acting career with roles in films Moonstruck, Raising Arizona, Gone in 60 Seconds, National Treasure, and an Oscar win for Leaving Las Vegas.

Last year Cage legally changed his name to ‘Nick Cage’ to avoid being the Coppola ‘clown cousin.’

‘I am Nick Cage. I changed my name legally last year,’ he told Variety.

The name was inspired by Marvel character Luke Cage, a last name he thought was ‘cool.’

‘I’m Nick Cage in life, and I’m Nick Cage on camera. ‘Tis better to be the patriarch of my own little family than the clown cousin on the margins of someone else’s, so I decided I’m going to bring it on and be “Cage.”

‘”Cage” is a name that I liked coming across in the comics – I just thought he had a cool name – and I grew up in a very avant-garde, artsy family and there was talk about John Cage and the experimental compositions that he did. I was looking for something like “James Dean”; I was looking for something short and sweet.

‘I thought, well, I’ll keep the name “Nicolas” because my father named me Nicolas -with French spelling, which has always frustrated me, because everyone adds an “h.” I don’t know why he gave me the French spelling! But he did.’

Whether he prefers ‘Nick’ or ‘Nicolas,’ the actor told Variety: ‘I’m both! I think people know me as both.’

In 2021, Cage walked down the aisle a fifth time when we wed his much-younger wife Riko Shibata, now age 31. They welcomed daughter August Francesca in 2022.

The actor also has sons Kal-El, 18, with ex-wife Kim and Weston, 33, with ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton.

Come From Away Brings Hope and Heart to Orlando Theater

0

ORLANDO, Fla. – “Come From Away,” the acclaimed musical inspired by the days immediately following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, is now on stage in Orlando.

The production recounts the remarkable true story of 7,000 airline passengers who were stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, and the small Canadian community that opened its doors to them.

After the attacks on Sept. 11, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration closed American airspace, sending more than 4,000 aircraft to the nearest available airports. Many transatlantic flights heading from Europe were redirected to Canada.

Planes did not begin receiving clearance to depart again until Sept. 13.

‘Come From Away’ runs through September 27. (Tony Firriolo)

In Gander, uncertainty and cultural differences initially tested both travelers and residents. Over time, those tense first moments gave way to trust, music, gratitude and lasting bonds, including the friendship between Hannah and Beulah.

On Sept. 16, the remaining passengers were able to fly back home.

The smash-hit musical has won many awards, including a Tony for “Best Direction of a Musical.”

The show is running at The Orlando Shakespeare Theater through Sept. 27. Click here for ticket information.

Long Island Dad Fatally Stabbed by Son on Labor Day: Police

0

A Long Island father, mortally wounded in a late-night stabbing, managed one final act of survival: crawling to a phone to alert police before he collapsed, authorities said.

Sage Arias-Brown, 33, is accused of forcing his way into the Mastic apartment of his father, 69-year-old Edward Brown, at about 12:30 a.m. Monday and attacking him with a knife, stabbing him several times in the abdomen and chest before running off, according to Suffolk County prosecutors.

Assistant District Attorney Melissa Grier told the court that a witness heard Arias-Brown enter the apartment and then heard Brown crying out for help, before seeing the suspect leave the building. Arias-Brown, who appeared in court wearing a worn tracksuit, scowled and fidgeted during the arraignment.

Despite suffering multiple stab wounds, Brown was able to summon enough strength to reach a phone and dial 911, reporting the violent attack before collapsing while waiting for emergency responders, Grier said.

Prosecutors said Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.

Details of what exactly unfolded inside the apartment and whether there was any confrontation that led to the violence remains unclear.

Arias-Brown — who his attorney, Katherine Fernandez said has a history of mental illness and an open robbery case — was arrested just blocks away from his father’s apartment a short time after the killing, according to police.

He pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and was remanded without bail on Tuesday and is due back in court on Friday.

Steven Bartlett Reveals What Really Happens After Dragons’ Den

Dragons’ Den has produced plenty of headline-making business wins over the years, with brands such as Reggae Reggae Sauce and Skinny Tan becoming household names. But for viewers watching the dramatic handshake unfold on screen, one question often remains: what actually happens after the cameras stop rolling?

Steven Bartlett, the entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den investor reportedly worth £68 million, has offered a rare look at the behind-the-scenes process that follows once a deal is agreed in the Den.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Behind The Diary, Bartlett explained that the first step is surprisingly simple: once the offer is accepted and the handshake is done, everyone leaves the Den.

From there, the entrepreneur and their new potential investor meet away from the set, while arrangements are made for both sides’ teams to connect. That is when the serious work begins, with the deal moving into a due diligence process.

Bartlett said the investor then takes a closer look at the company, adding: ‘We look at the business, we ask further questions and we check everything adds up.’

The Dragon continued: ‘Through that process we will then get know each other. meet each other. and talk about how a relationship might look in the future, and that is one of my favourite things.’

Bartlett confessed that one his favourite things is to get to know those he is investing in. He said he likes to think he has 'a close relationship with entrepreneurs'

Bartlett confessed that one his favourite things is to get to know those he is investing in. He said he likes to think he has ‘a close relationship with entrepreneurs’

Steven Bartlett (pictured) joined Dragons’ Den in 2022. He said once a deal is struck every Dragon leaves the den and the investor and investee get to meet and co-ordinate

The CEO also detailed how he goes to great lengths to builds relationships with his investments.

Discussing the process of investments from a recent episode, he told his 48,400 subscribers that he invited all of his recent investments to come to his office individually to chat through business plans and to get to know each other.

‘I like to think I have a close relationship with the entrepreneurs that I invest in, in the den,’ said Bartlett.

This comes a few months after the Dragon celebrated the success of a company he invested in on the show called PerfecTed.

The per month revenue of the natural energy drink company has increased from £9,000 in March 2022 to £400,000, according to his LinkedIn.

The matcha-powered sold out in Holland and Barret, as well as being stored drink is in Tesco’s across the nation.

In the YouTube video, Bartlett reminisced about his first investment, which is his biggest on the show to date:

‘I invested £150,000 of my money, into a technology company that is delivering cheese called CheeseGig’ the entrepreneur said.

‘My first investment I really wanted it Peter wanted it as well so I was happy to win that one.’

The businessman also busted other myths about the show. No, there are no ear pieces with producers telling Dragons’ what to do according to Bartlett

This wasn’t the only secret Bartlett spilled, he also busted a long-standing myth about ear pieces on the show.

The businessman said: ‘Nobody can tell these guys what to say, they know what to say better than anybody on earth.

‘They know how to be a dragon better than any producer could whisper into their ear.’

He also laid to rest questions surrounding the Dragons’ relationships outside of the den.

‘We get on like a house on fire. In the heat of the deal, we can scrap a little bit and there can be some fire and some tension and all that stuff,’ said Bartlett.

‘But outside of the den, we are mates.’

Appeals Court Slams Trump Plan to Share Tax Returns With ICE

0

A federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that the Trump administration violated IRS rules when it turned over confidential taxpayer information to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The case began in February 2025, when the nonprofit Center for Taxpayer Rights and two unions filed suit during the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) push “to access highly sensitive information systems and dismantle and restructure multiple federal agencies.”

Although the administration has since largely moved away from embedding DOGE personnel inside federal agencies, legal fights over the sweeping changes made during that period have continued to move through the courts.

In the current lawsuit, the government had already suffered setbacks in the trial court, where U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, appointed by former President Bill Clinton, repeatedly criticized its handling of the matter. In late November 2025, the district court temporarily blocked the broader data-sharing arrangement involving ICE and DOGE, including access connected to the IRS.

Looking for a victory at the appellate level, the litigation moved on parallel tracks as the Trump administration went to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit asking to overturn a preliminary injunction. Meanwhile, the lower court is still dealing with the underlying merits.

Now, a three-judge panel has emphatically affirmed the lower court.

The 32-page opinion references “the Watergate scandal” in its very first line — offering context for what the appeals court terms “executive branch abuses of U.S. taxpayers’ information to harass the Administration’s enemies.”

The panel led by Circuit Judge Cornelia Pillard, and joined by Circuit Judges Patricia Millett and Robert Wilkins, all of whom were appointed by Barack Obama, seems to be reaching for rhetorical emphasis with the reference.

But the invocation of Watergate is also used to introduce the operative law the court used to analyze the dispute.

To hear the panel tell it, the statute in question prohibits the IRS from “sharing tax return information with any other federal agency unless the requesting agency meets stringent conditions.”

The IRS did not meet those conditions, the D.C. Circuit determined.

“The procedure failed to ensure that ICE’s requests complied with statutory requirements,” the opinion reads. “The IRS nonetheless began using the procedure to disclose tens of thousands of records.”

Through over 47,000 such requests, ICE failed to meet the requirements the overwhelming majority of the time, the court noted. Instead, ICE used taxpayer identification numbers (TIN) along with names. Still, the IRS sent the requested data along anyway.

The IRS itself says immigration enforcement is not one of the purposes that allows the agency to release tax return information — and there are laws that specifically punish violations.

“Underscoring the importance of confidentiality, Congress has imposed civil and criminal penalties on federal employees who ‘willfully … disclose’ return information in violation of [the statute],” the opinion goes on. “As the IRS has explained, ‘[t]here is no provision in the United States Code that authorizes the disclosure or redisclosure of returns or return information for enforcement of immigration laws.'”

The court then spends considerable time going through what the Trump administration refers to as the “Data-Exchange Procedure” developed by the IRS in response to “ICE’s interest in return information regarding more than a million individuals.”

The panel explains how the procedure actually works when used by ICE — and finds its protections wanting in the extreme.

“[T]he Data-Exchange Procedure merely checks whether ICE supplied five or nine digits—any random five or nine digits—in the address field within its request,” the opinion goes on. “To trigger IRS disclosure of tax return information under the Data-Exchange Procedure, the five- or nine-digit number need not even be an actual zip code, nor does ICE need to have provided any other information, such as a street name, unit number, city, or state.”

To date, the court notes, the IRS has “identified and disclosed 47,289 records to ICE” using the above-described procedure, “meaning that the IRS never confirmed whether the ICE request contained information plausibly reflecting ‘the name and address of the taxpayer.'”

The court terms arguments in defense of the procedure “a nonstarter.”

“The Procedure thus likely caused IRS to violate [the statute] and systematically will cause IRS to continue to ignore that statutory requirement,” the D.C. Circuit’s opinion continues.

The court moves on to arguments over the district court’s order.

The Trump administration, for its part, claims the lower court’s order is impeding its ability to use information “in criminal investigations.”

The panel was not moved.

“[T]hat’s a gripe with Congress, not the court,” the opinion goes on. “As we have explained, the Data-Exchange Procedure is likely contrary to law. The government has no legitimate interest in conducting criminal investigations in violation of the statute.”

The IRS also complained about how Kollar-Kotelly fashioned the preliminary injunction in the case.

“That argument is weak sauce,” the appeals court ruled, noting the district court permits the IRS to file under seal, “thereby shielding any criminal investigative activity from disclosure.”

The post Appeals court slams Trump’s ‘weak sauce’ argument for sharing tax returns with ICE, says take ‘gripe’ up with Congress first appeared on Law & Crime.

Kenny Rogers’ Five Children and Their Mothers: Where Are They Now?

Kenny Rogers died on March 20, 2020, at 81, leaving behind one of country music’s most recognizable catalogs — and a large, blended family. The “Gambler” legend was the father of five children: Kenny Rogers Jr., Christopher Rogers, twin sons Justin Rogers and Jordan Rogers, and Carole Lynne Rogers. His journey into fatherhood stretched across decades, beginning after his first marriage in 1958. Though Rogers married five times, he did not have children with every wife. The age gap among his children was striking: Carole Lynne was born in 1958, while Justin and Jordan arrived 46 years later, in 2004.

Balancing a superstar career with family life was never simple, and Rogers was candid about the toll it took. The country icon was not equally close to all of his children, and he openly acknowledged regrets over missed time. In a 1980 People cover story, Rogers said he had only two hours of visitation with his daughter, Carole Lynne. Their relationship later became distant, and she was not the only child to experience strain with him. Speaking to People in 1982, Rogers reflected, “As you try to get ahead, it’s too easy to think that these kids are still going to be kids tomorrow and that once you get your current project done, you’ll spend some time with them.” While his demanding schedule kept him away from many family milestones, the mothers of his children remained central figures in their lives.

Janice Gordon and Kenny Rogers got hitched young

Rogers became a husband for the first time at 19, marrying Janice Gordon in 1958 after she became pregnant with their daughter, Carole Lynne. At the time, he was still trying to establish himself in music and was far from the global fame that would later define his career. The marriage lasted just two years, but Rogers later wrote in his memoir, “Luck or Something Like It,” that he never considered avoiding the responsibility. “When my Janice got pregnant, I was fully prepared to take the step into married life. It never occurred to me to walk away from the responsibility,” he recalled.

Still, Rogers’ first marriage faced challenges almost immediately. As his ambitions grew and his music career began gaining momentum, he spent less time with Carole Lynne. Gordon eventually remarried, and her second husband adopted Carole into his family. Rogers spoke about that period in a 2012 interview with Fox News, expressing respect for the man who helped raise his daughter. “He [Gordon’s second husband] stepped in at a time that was really awkward for all of us, and he became her dad, and I love him for that,” Rogers said. “He was a good guy.” Rogers also said he had genuinely loved Gordon, but family pressure and difficult circumstances worked against them. “That was a thing where her parents thought I’d ruined her life and were determined to break me. It didn’t work, and it’s really sad because I think it could have worked,” he said.

Kenny’s marriage to Margo Anderson might have been his toughest

Margo Anderson, Rogers’ third wife, entered his life after his marriage to his second wife, Jean, ended without children. Rogers and Anderson married in 1963, and the following year welcomed their son, Kenny Rogers Jr. According to the Caller Times, Anderson later encouraged Rogers to perform at her high school reunion in 1966, while he was still working toward mainstream recognition. Her former classmates in Corpus Christi, Texas, were reportedly underwhelmed by the performance. Rogers, however, made a prediction to Anderson: One day, those same people would pay to hear him sing. Two years later, he and The First Edition scored a major hit with “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In),” helping launch the superstardom he had long envisioned.

While he and Anderson were together for some time, it seems that their relationship was a bit tumultuous, Rogers noted this in his memoir. Looking back at their marriage, he wrote in “Luck or Something Like It,” “I don’t ever like to blame someone else, but in this case, [the fights] were all her fault.” He further claimed, “She loved to regurgitate problems, things that happened from years before.”

After their divorce in 1975, Rogers barely saw Kenny Jr. because Anderson relocated to Palm Springs, California, with their son. Rogers told People in 1980, “I would wish desperately that my relationship with Kenny Jr. were better.” While Rogers never got entirely close with his son, Kenny Jr. was still able to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry. He now works as an actor and composer.

Things were going good with actor Marianne Gordon

In 1977, Kenny Rogers married actor Marianne Gordon. Gordon was known for her work in “Rosemary’s Baby,” “Little Darlings,” and the country music variety show “Hee Haw.” Gordon and Rogers met when he was a guest on the show, and Gordon later appeared alongside Rogers in his 1980 TV movie “The Gambler.” The two stayed married until 1993. Before welcoming their son, Christopher, Gordon joined Rogers while he was on tour. However, things changed once Christopher came into their lives.

Christopher was born with hyaline membrane disease, a respiratory disorder. He was able to survive the sometimes deadly disease, but it came with a price for both Rogers and Gordon. Gordon stopped joining Rogers on tour so she could stay home with Christopher. They made it work for some time, but eventually it became clear that the couple was living two very different lives. Gordon received a massive $60 million settlement in one of Hollywood’s costliest divorces in 1993. “But Marianne really did deserve the 60 million because she is a great girl and we had a perfect marriage for 15 years,” Rogers told the Irish Independent.

Kenny was determined to win over his fifth and final wife, Wanda

Kenny Rogers met Wanda Miller while she was working as a hostess at a restaurant in Atlanta. Coincidentally, Rogers was on a blind date with another woman at the time, but later called the restaurant seeking Miller’s number. While it was difficult for Miller to believe at first, Rogers was head over heels for her. The two had a 28-year age gap, but that didn’t stop them from getting married in 1997. They remained married for about 22 years until Rogers passed away in 2020.

During their marriage, Miller gave birth to twin boys, Justin and Jordan. “I miss his love, his support. I miss his touch. I miss everything about him,” she said in an interview with People. “I wish we could have that one last conversation just to say, ‘Are you good? Are you OK?'” In the wake of his death, Miller compiled Rogers’ archived works into an album, “Life Is Like a Song.” “I want to make sure his legacy grows and stays alive. … I think Kenny would be beyond happy and proud of the album,” she told People.
