Achieve Elite Core Strength: How Over-50s Can Master the Plank for Maximum Fitness

0

Can you maintain a steady plank for over 90 seconds after reaching the age of 50? Here’s what your endurance reveals.

At first glance, holding a plank might not seem like a challenge. You position yourself on your forearms, extend your legs, and remain still. But as the seconds tick by, the real challenge unfolds. Your shoulders begin to engage, your core muscles contract, your glutes activate, and your entire body must remain aligned without faltering.

Post-50, this skill becomes significantly more important than many might think. A strong core is crucial for supporting the spine, enhancing posture control, and maintaining stability during everyday activities. Whether it’s carrying bags, taking long walks, standing stationary, rising from the floor, or navigating workouts, a robust midsection is key to sustaining tension and control.

As a fitness trainer, I frequently incorporate planks into my sessions because they quickly reveal how a person manages their body alignment. I observe their bracing technique, breathing patterns, and the ability to prevent hip drop as they tire. While a lengthy hold can be impressive on paper, the true value lies in maintaining a solid body line throughout the exercise. When that happens, the plank test is meaningful.

I often use planks with clients because they give a quick read on how someone manages their position. I’m looking at how they brace, how they breathe, and how well they keep their hips from dipping as fatigue builds. A long hold looks impressive on paper, but the position tells the real story. If the body line stays strong, the test means something.

That’s what makes the plank such a useful benchmark. It combines core strength, muscular endurance, shoulder stability, and full-body control into a single test. Up next, we’ll break down why the plank matters after 50, how to perform it correctly, what your hold time says about your core strength, and how to build a stronger, longer-lasting plank.

Why the Plank Is a Strong Core Strength Test After 50

The plank challenges your core to maintain a strong position for your spine and pelvis. Your abs brace the front of your body, your obliques help control unwanted movement, and your glutes help keep your hips level. Your shoulders and upper back also stay active, so you can support your body over your forearms.

That full-body connection gives the plank a lot of carryover. Your core links your upper and lower body, which matters during almost every movement you make. When that link stays strong, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, and getting up from the ground all feel more controlled. The plank trains that connect without needing equipment or a complicated setup.

The endurance piece also matters. Holding the position forces your muscles to stay engaged while you breathe and manage fatigue. As the clock runs, the challenge becomes keeping your hips level, your ribs down, and your body in one strong line. A strong plank shows that your core can support your body for more than a few seconds.

How to Perform a Proper Plank Hold

A strong plank starts with a clean setup. Your elbows should sit under your shoulders, your ribs should stay pulled down, and your hips should line up with the rest of your body. Once you’re set, the goal is to hold steady tension through your core, glutes, and upper back. Every second should look like the first one.

How to Do It:

  1. Place your forearms on the floor with your elbows directly under your shoulders.
  2. Extend your legs behind you with your feet about hip-width apart.
  3. Brace your core by tightening your midsection and pulling your ribs down.
  4. Squeeze your glutes to keep your hips level.
  5. Hold a straight line from your head through your hips to your heels.
  6. Breathe steadily while maintaining the same position.

Movement standard: Your plank counts when your body stays in a straight line, your hips remain level, and your lower back stays neutral. Stop the timer when your hips drop, your back arches, or your shoulders lose position.

Best Variations: High Plank, Incline Plank, Side Plank, RKC Plank, Stability Ball Plank.

Plank Hold Standards After 50: What Your Time Means

Your plank time should reflect a clean position, not a survival position. Keep the same body line, hip height, and breathing rhythm from start to finish. Once the position changes, record the time you held it with proper form.

  • Under 30 seconds: You’re building the foundation. Focus on bracing well, keeping your hips level, and holding shorter sets with strong form.
  • 30 to 60 seconds: This is a solid base. Your core can support your body with good control, and you’re building the endurance needed for daily movement.
  • 60 to 90 seconds: You’re in strong territory. Your core holds position well, your hips stay steady, and your body maintains tension as the hold gets more demanding.
  • 90+ seconds: This is elite after 50. Holding a clean plank this long shows excellent core strength, muscular endurance, and body control.

Building a better plank starts with better tension. The goal is to create a strong brace, keep your hips steady, and hold a position that looks the same from the first second to the last. That takes practice, but it also takes smart strength work around the plank. Your glutes, shoulders, upper back, and breathing all play a role in how long you can hold the position. When those pieces improve, the plank feels stronger and your time starts to climb.

  • Practice planks regularly: Start with two to three sets a few times per week. Keep each hold clean and controlled.
  • Use shorter holds with better quality: Sets of 20 to 40 seconds with strong form build the base for longer holds.
  • Set your position before the timer starts: Stack your elbows under your shoulders, pull your ribs down, and squeeze your glutes.
  • Train your breathing: Slow, steady breaths help you hold tension without stiffening up too early.
  • Strengthen your glutes and hips: Bridges, hip thrusts, and carries help support better pelvic control during planks.
  • Add anti-rotation exercises: Pallof presses, suitcase carries, and side planks build the trunk stability that supports a stronger hold.
  • Build shoulder stability: Farmer carries, rows, and controlled push-up variations help your upper body support the plank position.
  • Retest every few weeks: Use the same setup and movement standard each time to keep your progress clear.

A plank gives you a simple way to test how well your core can hold tension under fatigue. If you can hold a clean plank past 90 seconds after 50, your core strength sits in an elite range. That strength carries into how you move, train, lift, carry, and stay steady throughout the day.

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt: Navigating Life Post-Divorce – Where Do They Stand Now?

At one time, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt were the quintessential Hollywood couple, embodying what many considered a perfect love story. With Faris, the comedic star rising through the entertainment industry, and Pratt, the lovable character from “Parks and Recreation,” their union seemed destined for greatness. However, their shocking divorce shattered that illusion. Recently, Faris attended the “Scary Movie 6” premiere with Jack, her and Pratt’s 13-year-old son, evoking memories of their once-celebrated relationship.

Their romance began on the set of “Take Me Home Tonight,” leading to their marriage in 2009. They welcomed their son, Jack, in 2012, though his birth was fraught with anxiety as he spent time in the NICU. Despite appearing to be a happy family, the couple announced their separation in 2017, finalizing their divorce a year later. In the aftermath, both focused on amicable co-parenting while maintaining privacy. Pratt moved on swiftly, proposing to Katherine Schwarzenegger in early 2019, months after his divorce was finalized. Meanwhile, Faris found love again, marrying cinematographer Michael Barrett in 2021.

Their commitment to co-parenting was evident in 2025, when they were seen together for Jack’s sixth-grade graduation—the first public appearance together in nearly seven years. As reported by Page Six, the ex-couple shared friendly interactions, taking photos and engaging in conversation, demonstrating a healthy relationship from afar. Faris elaborated on her bond with Pratt and Schwarzenegger in an interview with People, expressing gratitude for their support: “They’re very protective of me, and I want to be very protective of them.”

Nonetheless, the dynamics of Faris and Pratt’s relationship during their marriage have intrigued many, with questions about the reasons behind their split. On her “Anna Faris Is Unqualified” podcast, she speculated with guest Gwyneth Paltrow, “My two other marriages were with actors, and I don’t think we did a great job of eliminating competitiveness.” This insight reflects the challenges they faced as Faris enjoyed a thriving career while Pratt was just beginning to make his mark in Hollywood with his role in “Parks and Recreation.” According to Us Weekly, a source suggested that Pratt “never felt ‘good enough’ for Anna Faris, and then when their relationship started to go downward, he was angry and not liking who he was.”

The years following the divorce shed some light on what exactly was causing trouble in paradise

That being said, there’s a lot to unpack when it comes to Anna Faris and Chris Pratt’s relationship when they were still together. Many wondered why the two divorced in the first place. On her “Anna Faris Is Unqualified” podcast, Faris mused to guest Gwyneth Paltrow, “My two other marriages were with actors, and I don’t think we did a great job of eliminating competitiveness.” It all makes sense when taking their careers into consideration. At the time they met, Faris was in the midst of a booming career while Pratt was scratching the surface of Hollywood before locking in his breakout role in “Parks and Rec” — a breeding ground for toxic competition. According to Us Weekly, a source revealed that Pratt “never felt ‘good enough’ for Anna Faris, and then when their relationship started to go downward, he was angry and not liking who he was.”

In 2022, Pratt fell under fire after the birth of his daughter with Katherine Schwarzenegger. In a tribute post to Schwarzenegger, Pratt gushed that she had provided him with “a gorgeous healthy daughter.” Many believe that this comment was a jab at Faris and her son, Jack, who experienced several health issues due to being born premature. While Jack is now perfectly healthy, many found the comment insensitive. Pratt, of course, denied any ill will behind the comment. Pratt and Faris’ relationship seems to stand as cordial today, but it’s important to note that getting buff, divorcing your wife, and getting engaged shortly after is never a good look.

Brooklyn Beckham’s Ventures: Leveraging the Beckham Legacy

0

Brooklyn Beckham has stirred controversy recently following an Instagram advertisement for DoorDash, where he seemingly jabbed at his parents.

The 27-year-old, often labeled as a “nepo baby,” teamed up with the food delivery company for a promotional video. In the clip, he casually remarks, “You might be curious why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home… It’s quite a tale.”

Observers have interpreted this as a dig at his estranged parents, David and Victoria Beckham, who reportedly are heartbroken and distraught over the implied criticism.

The public’s response to Brooklyn’s video hasn’t been positive, with many accusing him of exploiting the family dispute for financial gain. Critics also claim this act contradicts his earlier statement from January, where he criticized “Brand Beckham.”

In that detailed six-page declaration, Brooklyn accused his parents of prioritizing “public promotion and endorsements above all else,” and described their actions as “performative.”

Yet while he may have been quick to point the finger at his parents, Brooklyn also has a lengthy history of using ‘Brand Beckham’ to land work.

In 2024, Brooklyn claimed that he was ready to stand on his own two feet as he promoted his new upcoming hot sauce range, Cloud 23.

He explained that the name was inspired by the No 23 shirt which David Beckham wore at Real Madrid and LA Galaxy, as well as June 23, the date he proposed to Nicola Peltz.

Yet he insisted that when the hot sauce was released, the public would begin to see him in his own right.

He told InStyle: ‘Obviously, I’ve been so fortunate to get these opportunities where [my last name] does help. But when it comes out in September, I think people are going to be like, “wow.”‘

Asked what he thought about his nepo baby label, Brooklyn added: ‘I mean, I can’t help how I was born. I couldn’t ask for better parents and I’m just trying to work my a** off and trying to make a name for myself. That’s all I can say, really.’

Yet despite his comments, it wasn’t long before Brooklyn namedropped his parents to flog the hot sauce.

Last February, Brooklyn mentioned his dad no less than three times in an advert for Whole Foods that was filmed ahead of the Super Bowl.

In the skit, Brooklyn said that American football wasn’t ‘proper football’, and that he was going to call his dad to ‘set it straight’.

While cooking with his Cloud 23 sauce, Brooklyn then asked if the camera operator could locate his phone to see if his dad had called, before explaining that he grew up with football.

The advert ended with Brooklyn’s phone ringing and him having a chat with his ‘dad’.

Brooklyn discovered his love of cooking in lockdown and after sharing Instagram videos of his meals, he filmed social media series, Cookin’ With Brooklyn.

The show, which aired on Facebook Messenger and Instagram, was mercilessly mocked as it was revealed a crew of 62 professionals – including a ‘culinary producer’ – had been assembled for the show, in which he made a sandwich and needed help cooking a hashbrown.

It was produced by influencer content company Wheelhouse DNA at a staggering cost of $100,000 per episode, with TV execs telling The Post the budget and scale was ‘unheard of’.

Brooklyn made a point of mentioning his family in every episode, such as telling Nobu restaurateur Nobu Matsuhisa: ‘I came here with my dad when I was 13’.

A source told Page Six that the Beckhams’ family friend Gordon Ramsay had advised them to put as much money into it as they could.

Before turning his hand to cooking, Brooklyn looked into photography.

At the age of 16, despite having no professional experience, Brooklyn was picked to shoot a Burberry fragrance campaign – sparking a wave of backlash.

Fashion photographer Chris Floyd told the Guardian that Burberry’s decision to employ Brooklyn was a ‘devaluation of photography’ and that Brooklyn’s employment ‘goes against everything his parents represent’.

Chris said: ‘David and Victoria Beckham represent sheer willpower and graft. Especially her, she’s climbed that mountain all by herself.

‘They represent hard work and then their 16-year-old year son comes along and it’s sheer nepotism. He hasn’t done it from hard work, which is counter-intuitive to what his parents represent.’

Meanwhile, fashion photographer Jon Gorrigan said he expected Burberry would have the entire setup ready so that all Brooklyn had to do was click the button.

Jon mused: ‘He’s obviously not going to be doing the lighting, he’ll have no clue of the programmes, the cameras or Photoshop.

‘It’s going to be so well managed – he’ll have the best hair and makeup, the best models, the very best equipment, so that the chance of any risk is greatly reduced.

‘It infuriates me because I learned my trade and other photographers learn their trade but he’s not learning his trade. I can understand why they’re doing it, getting the younger generation interested in Burberry. It definitely annoys me. Names sell, don’t they?’

Burberry chief creative Christopher Bailey defended the decision to hire Brooklyn saying ‘his style and attitude were exactly what we wanted to capture the spirit of this new fragrance campaign.’

While the campaign came out well, Brooklyn infuriated the photography community again when he released his notorious What I See book in 2017, sharing captures of his life and family.

Aged 18, he was criticised for including blurry, shadowy images of elephants in Kenya, which he said were ‘so hard to photograph.’

On the next page, next to a blurry shot of a crowd at a restaurant, the caption said: ‘Dinner. I like this picture – it’s out of focus but you can tell there’s a lot going on.’

The book contained 300 images and was launched with an exhibition in London and Los Angeles.

Brooklyn was subject to widespread mockery when the book was released, with critics noting that it would be highly unusual for an 18-year-old amateur photographer to be offered a book deal by a major publisher without his level of fame and connections

That same year, Brooklyn began a four-year photography course at Parsons School of Design in New York, but he dropped out after a year.

Now, Brooklyn is said to be relying on his father-in-law Nelson Peltz’s connections to help him open a burger restaurant in the States.

A source told The Sun: ‘Brooklyn has long dreamed of opening a restaurant where he lives and that is finally coming to fruition.

‘He has created Beck’s Buns and quietly launched it on social media. Brooklyn’s company Buster Sauce Inc owns the trademark and he is planning to open a restaurant.’

Yet he couldn’t resist dragging his famous parents into his latest venture – the collaboration for DoorDash – which ends with ‘more soon’, suggesting another similar advert will follow.

The video sparked a backlash with comments now limited for some Instagram users. One fan told Brooklyn: ‘If you hate them so much drop the name and stop profiting from association.’

The Daily Mail revealed that friends of the Beckhams have been taken aback by the latest shocking move amid their public family feud, which has left the family devastated.

A friend of the Beckhams told Katie Hind: ‘To do an advert based on estrangement from family as if it’s a joke when his family is devastated and his sister and grandparents are inconsolable is shocking.

‘Especially from someone who claims he wants peace and privacy.’

The Beckhams have been embroiled in an increasingly acrimonious dispute with Brooklyn and Nicola for months, with relations said to have deteriorated dramatically after the couple failed to attend David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May 2025.

In January, Brooklyn released a scathing six-page statement (below) announcing he had cut ties with his family – declaring he was no longer part of ‘Brand Beckham’ and insisting his parents and their other children are ‘performative’.

Shortly before Christmas last year, Brooklyn blocked his parents on Instagram, while Brooklyn and Nicola’s lawyers later wrote to the Beckhams’ legal team requesting that all communication be conducted through legal representatives.

Brooklyn also claimed David and Victoria had controlled him for much of his life, attempted to drive a wedge between him and Nicola and left him embarrassed when his mother danced ‘inappropriately’ with him during the first dance at his wedding.

The aspiring chef was last pictured with his family during Christmas 2024, and by May 2025 it was clear a feud had formed after Brooklyn failed to acknowledge either of his parents’ birthdays and snubbed David’s 50th.

Brooklyn Beckham’s statement in full

I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.

My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.

Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.

They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.

During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me “evil” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.” Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.

My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.

My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.

Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.

When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.

My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family “love” is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.

We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.

The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.

I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.

Alaska Woman Lori Price Heroically Fends Off Bear Attack with Weapon to Save Herself and Dog

0

A resident of Alaska credits her handgun for saving her dog’s life after a black bear launched an attack during a mushroom-picking adventure on the Kenai Peninsula earlier this month.

On June 7, Lori Price was exploring near Skilak Lake with her two dogs, Chaos, a German short-haired pointer, and Willis, a chocolate Labrador, when their peaceful outing took a terrifying turn.

In an interview with Alaska News Source, Price recounted hearing a roar and instantly understanding that her dogs had encountered a bear.

“I heard the bear and immediately grasped the situation,” Price shared. “My instinctive response was to get to my dog as quickly as possible.”

Upon seeing Chaos under attack, Price promptly drew her Glock 43 9mm pistol and fired at the bear to protect her pet.

“I pull my pistol, and I shot. Boom! Down like a sack of potatoes goes the bear,” she recalled.

Price initially believed the danger had passed. But as she checked on Chaos, who was suffering from multiple bite wounds and significant blood loss, the bear got back up.

Price said she fired again before the animal rose once more.

“All of a sudden, the bear gets up again. And I’m like, ‘Oh my God. What?’” she recalled.

Price and her dogs then ran from the area while the bear headed off in the opposite direction. While returning to her vehicle, Price called 911, though she said poor cellphone reception made it difficult to stay connected with dispatchers.

After reaching her car, she flagged down a passing driver and told them she and her dog had been attacked.

Emergency responders arrived and helped care for Chaos before Price drove him to a veterinary clinic for treatment.

“My heart broke,” Price said. “He had so many bite marks on him. It was like the bear thought he was like a little sardine.”

Price credited veterinarian Dr. Patrick with helping save the dog’s life.

“Dr. Patrick called me from the veterinary clinic, and I owe him my dog’s life,” she said.

Chaos was released from the clinic later that day and is expected to make a full recovery. Price said the dog has regained his ability to walk and continues to heal from the attack.

“Obviously, we’re going through a lot of recovery, but he is really lucky to be alive,” she said.

Willis was not injured during the encounter.

Explore the Middle East: Travel Restrictions Lifted for Australians

0

IN BRIEF

  • Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, Qatar and the UAE have been downgraded to level three restrictions.
  • Restrictions have eased following the US-Iran peace deal, which is set to be signed on Friday.

The Australian government has eased travel restrictions for several Middle Eastern countries in light of a preliminary peace agreement between the United States and Iran.

Travel advisories for Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates have been downgraded from the strictest level of “do not travel” to a level three warning, which means travelers should reconsider their necessity for travel.

This adjustment comes as a result of a tentative peace accord between the US and Iran aimed at resolving ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. The agreement is expected to be officially ratified this Friday in Switzerland.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong noted that the evolving situation in certain parts of the region warranted the reduction of the travel advisory from the highest level of caution.

“Level three remains a significant advisory,” Wong stated on Wednesday, emphasizing the government’s continued recommendation for Australians to delay any non-essential travel to these regions.

A do-not-travel warning remains in effect for parts of Israel, as well as Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Yemen.

Level four travel warnings meant travel insurance was often voided for Australian travellers flying overseas via the Middle East.

The do-not-travel warning was issued following the outbreak of the conflict in late February, with airports in the region being closed due to the threat of missiles.

Israel’s ambassador to Australia Hillel Newman said the country supported the peace agreement between Iran and the US.

However, he said Israeli strikes against Lebanon would continue.

“Our operations in southern Lebanon are entirely for our defence,” he told ABC radio on Wednesday.

“We’re trying to just bring defence and security to our people. If we have security, we will not continue our activities in southern Lebanon.”

The strikes from Israel and Lebanon have raised fears the peace deal could fall apart.

However, US President Donald Trump said the war between Israel and Lebanon was a minor one and the peace deal would be able to survive.

JD Vance Shares Unexpected Compliment from Joy Behar Off-Air

0

Prominent Trump opponent Joy Behar extended an unexpected praise to Vice President JD Vance following a flurry of questions from the hosts of The View on Tuesday.

During his guest appearance on the show to discuss his book, “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith,” Vance, 41, was subjected to intense scrutiny. The conversation veered towards accusations of racism within the Trump administration, as well as inquiries about the Epstein Files, the economy, and his association with former President Donald Trump.

Later that evening, Vance shared his thoughts with Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld, expressing that the interview was “not as daunting as I anticipated.”

He also recounted a surprising moment during a commercial break when Behar remarked, “You know what, you’re pretty good for a Republican.”

“I was taken aback,” Vance admitted. “That was a far more positive comment than I ever expected from Joy Behar.”

The vice president also said he had expected the panelists to be ‘absolutely vicious, and they were only a little bit vicious.’

His ‘expectations were defied’ again when Whoopi Goldberg accused him of being racist – and not Sunny Hostin as he had expected.

Vance had remained diplomatic throughout the segment, despite facing criticism almost immediately after he sat down on the stage.

The Republican was flanked by anti-Trump hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin

It began with anti-Trump panelist Ana Navarro pushing back on the vice president’s claim that the administration has ‘made good progress’ on lowering inflation.

‘[Trump] said he loved inflation,’ Navarro noted, to which Vance had to clarify: ‘What he said is he loves inflation is going to come down when this war is over.’

At another point, Hostin asked why Vance was ‘rebuffed’ by federal officials after he suggested last summer that Tucker Carlson interview Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell in an effort to clear Trump’s name, according to a new report.

‘I would say first of all, don’t believe everything that you read in any newspaper whether it’s a right leaning paper or left leaning,’ Vance disclaimed, before admitting he is ‘frankly kind of a conspiracy theorist on the Epstein stuff.’

‘I think that it’s crazy that you have this guy who is clearly a sex predator who is hanging out with a lot of wealthy and powerful people – that bothered me. I don’t know what’s there. Nobody knows exactly what happened unless you were there.’

‘I wanted to have full transparency. What I disagree with is the idea the White House wasn’t committed to full transparency,’ Vance said.

He went on to remind viewers that while he ‘disagree[d]’ with certain White House decisions when it came to the case, one of the major revelations from releases thus far ‘is that Epstein hated Donald Trump.’

‘Donald Trump literally reported Jeffrey Epstein to the police. That’s one of the things that came out of the files,’ Vance explained.

Vance, 41, faced some hard-hitting questions during his appearance on The View

Do talk shows like The View foster real political understanding or just deepen divisions in America?

But Behar didn’t seem to buy the claim, insisting: ‘They were best friends for a decade.’

Navarro also claimed Trump and Epstein’s relationship only fell apart over a ‘real estate deal.’

Hostin also grilled the conservative about the holdup in releasing the remaining 2.5 million pages of DOJ records related to feds’ investigation into the financier.

Vance responded by pointing out how remaining records were either duplicates or subject to court-ordered limitations.

‘I would need to actually know exactly what you’re talking about,’ he told Hostin at a point, after asking for – and not receiving – specifics.

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg quickly called for a break.

When the broadcast returned, Behar immediately seized on Vance as he began fielding a question from Sara Haines.

Haines had asked how Vance’s conversion from Protestantism to Catholicism in 2019 affected his political views – specifically how he went from calling Trump ‘America’s Hitler’ in a 2016 text message to a friend to ‘America’s best hope.’

‘What happened?’ Behar blurted out.

‘Well, Joy – little humility, actually,’ an affable Vance answered. ‘I think when you make predictions and those turn out to be false, you have to ask yourself, what made me wrong about that? What did I not understand or appreciate?’

At one point, Vance had to calmly tell Behar to let him finish his thought

At one point, Vance had to calmly tell Behar to let him finish his thought

As he explained how he came to this growth, Haines and Behar began speaking over him.

‘Let me finish. Let me just finish,’ he said in a soft tone.

He added: ‘There’s a certain point where you say, “I made predictions about this. I ended up being wrong. In politics and anything, I think it’s important to say, you know what? I got things wrong. I was wrong about him. He was a very successful president.

The hosts responded by bringing up Trump’s purported lack of humility, before spending several minutes panning the president’s approach to immigration.

‘You have thrown a lot at me. We have 30 seconds left here,’ Vance noted as Goldberg desperately tried to cut off her co-hosts and go to a pre-scheduled commercial.

‘You are the vice president. You can go long,’ said Navarro.

Vance insisted that ‘We have to strike a balance between enforcing laws’ on suspected illegal immigrants while not ‘dehumaniz[ing] people.’

An unsatisfied Hostin still asked two follow-ups.

Goldberg accused the administration of attempting to 'stigmatize folks of color' through its efforts to remove structures or sites important to black history

Goldberg accused the administration of attempting to ‘stigmatize folks of color’ through its efforts to remove structures or sites important to black history

After the commercial, Goldberg took charge, outright asking ‘What did black people do to this administration that has allowed it to really stigmatize folks of color? You know how hard it is.’

The question was a reference to the Trump administration’s efforts to remove certain structures or sites important to black history, as well as the dismantling of majority-black voting districts.

‘You have folks of color in your family,’ Goldberg noted, referring to Vance’s wife, Usha, who is Indian American.

‘Sure,’ Vance said.

‘When you see things – them doing all kinds of removal of information of black heroes, how do you – how does that sit with you?’

A visibly confused Vance replied: ‘What exactly are you talking about?’

Goldberg, tripping over her words at points, explained: ‘They are taking down the actual history that happened in this country.

‘Slavery happened. All kinds of stuff happened. It seems that it has been very easy for this administration to remove that and also to denigrate black folks who have worked their behinds off to get this American dream.’

Hostin stepped in to say: ‘We’re talking about black history erased. Black voter districts dismantled. Black leaders are sidelined from our ranks. Where do Americans of color fit in this vision? It doesn’t seem like we fit.’

Vance answered: ‘I think everybody is welcome in our political coalition, even if you didn’t vote for us.

‘Everybody is welcome in our country so long as you are an American citizen.’

When Vance cited declining violent crime rates in Washington, DC – where black people comprise nearly half the population – Goldberg shot back: This is not about crime. This is about human rights.’

Hostin maintained: ‘Black history has been erased.’

‘That is not right,’ Vance said, before yet another break.

The rest of the appearance spanned only a few minutes, with Vance given the time to plug the book and field softer questions about his personal life.

The book – a 304-page memoir billed as ‘a spiritual exploration of what it means to be a Christian in all the seasons of life’ – hit shelves on Tuesday.

Peter Obi Declares Firm Stance on National Security: ‘Either the Terrorists Are in Charge or I Am

Peter Obi, the presidential hopeful from the Nigeria Democratic Congress, has vowed to tackle insecurity head-on if he wins the presidency. He emphasized that it is crucial for Nigeria to regain full control from criminal elements.

During an interview with broadcaster Rufai Oseni, Obi was questioned about his plans to address the ongoing abductions of school children, educators, and other citizens throughout the nation.

Obi responded by asserting that a country cannot have terrorists vying with the government for dominance; one must be the clear authority.

Drawing from his experience as the governor of Anambra, he highlighted his proactive measures against insecurity, which helped create a challenging environment for kidnappers and other criminals in the state.

Obi underscored that effective leadership demands urgency and dedication, assuring that he would promptly return to Nigeria to tackle any significant security issues impacting the nation.

Obi also reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria, stating that despite spending years abroad, he never sought citizenship elsewhere and has remained devoted to the country.

Rufai Oseni asked: On security, our children and teachers are still in captivity, and a retired Major General recently di£d while being held hostage. What would you do if you were President?

Mr. Peter Obi said: “If I am President today, it is either the terrørists are in charge of the country or I am in charge—one person must be in charge or we declare w@r on insecurity.

Go and ask about my record when I was Governor. I confrønted insecurity head-on. Even notørious kidnappers like Evans and many others could not operate in Anambra and were forced to flee. If I am outside the country and there is a crisis at home, I will return immediately. I am ready to d!e for Nigeria. I lived abroad for years, yet I never considered obtaining a foreign passport. I have only one passport—the Nigerian passport.”

Tragic Texas Plane Crash Claims Life as Aircraft Collides with Highway

A small aircraft plunged onto a highway in Laredo, Texas, igniting a blaze on Tuesday night, sparking panic as bystanders abandoned their vehicles to desperately try to shatter the cockpit window and rescue those trapped inside.

According to police reports, six individuals were aboard, resulting in one fatality. The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m., as confirmed by Jose Baeza, an investigator from the Laredo Police Department.

At present, authorities have not reported any injuries among motorists on Loop 20, the affected highway, which is currently shut down in both directions.

Footage circulating online depicts the aircraft lying on its side, having collided with a highway barrier.

Zayra Garza, who works as an esthetician, encountered the chaotic scene while she was driving her coworkers home.

She began shooting video as she approached the scene and then stopped her vehicle across from the crippled jet, which was on fire.

She saw someone inside the plane trying to break the cockpit window to escape.

Soon, people got out of their vehicles to try to smash the window from the outside.

Garza’s husband jumped out of their vehicle to help and Garza then saw the door of the plane open.

She said three people who looked to be teenagers rushed out, followed by someone who appeared to be a pilot.

Another member of the crew tried to pull from the plane a person who seemed to be unconscious .

“It looked like part of a movie. I was in shock,” Garza said.

“What was worrying me was the fire,” she said. “I was concerned that it could have just exploded at any time.”
