A third Burning Man attendee has died after being taken toward a hospital, authorities said, adding to a string of deaths tied to the Nevada desert event after two men died at the festival in a span of about 48 hours.

Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen told News Media in an email that his office was notified of another participant’s death while the person was being transported from the festival to a hospital in the Reno area.

Allen said he had no further details about what led to the death because it happened outside his jurisdiction. He directed inquiries to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office. News Media has contacted both agencies for comment.

Officials are still waiting for autopsy and toxicology findings in the cases of the two men who died earlier during Burning Man.

Allen said his office typically sees about one death each year at the festival.

The first death was reported Thursday at Rampart, the temporary hospital at Burning Man, according to a Pershing County Sheriff’s Office news release. Festival organizers described the man as in his mid-50s.

Deputies found Sampson Tshombe dead at the hospital after he was found on a street at the festival, the sheriff’s office said. Emergency personnel performed CPR for several minutes before a doctor pronounced him dead.

Investigators found no external signs of foul play. Tshombe was taken to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and toxicology screening because authorities did not have his medical history.

On Saturday, deputies were again called to Black Rock City, the temporary city built each year for Burning Man, after festival organizers said a 60-year-old man died.

Craigh Mann was found dead in a trailer he shared with his significant other at about 3:17 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators found no outward signs of foul play.

Mann was also taken to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and toxicology screening. The sheriff’s office said investigators did not have his medical history or other information that could explain his death.

The autopsy and toxicology results for both men are expected in six to eight weeks. The sheriff’s office said it would not release further information until it receives the results.

Burning Man organizers previously said their “thoughts and deepest condolences” were with Mann’s family, friends, campmates and others affected by his death.

“The safety and well-being of our community and staff remain our highest priority,” organizers said after the first death, adding that support resources were available around the clock in Black Rock City.

The annual Burning Man festival began Aug. 30 in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert and concluded Monday. The gathering can draw as many as 80,000 people, known as “burners,” and is best known for the burning of a large wooden effigy.

Bryan Kohberger has received a new court date as he moves forward with an effort to undo his guilty plea in the killings of four University of Idaho students.

Kohberger, 31, is scheduled to appear at the Ada County Courthouse on October 15, according to a court docket reviewed by People.

At the hearing, his defense attorneys are expected to argue that Judge Steven Hippler should be barred from overseeing Kohberger’s request for post-conviction relief, the docket shows.

Hippler was the judge who sentenced Kohberger to four life terms for the murders of Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves and Madison Mogen, who were discovered stabbed to death in an off-campus residence on November 13, 2022.

The new October date comes after Hippler set the case’s first status conference and evidentiary hearing for June 2027.

After accepting a plea deal last July, Kohberger escaped a trial and a potential death penalty sentence for stabbing the young friends to death. 

But in a shocking twist of events, he filed a petition for post-conviction relief in July, which is allowed under state law. It is not the same as a direct appeal. 

‘My actual innocence is my truth, and the plea, hinged on by false promises and blatant disinformation, MUST be withdrawn,’ Kohberger said in a statement to The New York Times. 

He further claimed that he has ‘ineffective assistance of counsel’ and that he was ‘advised to lie’ by his legal team. 

Prosecutors have gone on to file a motion seeking to dismiss the case, but Kohberger might have missed his chance after he signed a written factual basis document that stated he is willing to ‘hereby admit responsibility’ for the slayings, the outlet reported. 

In it, he also confessed that the ‘killing and murder’ of the victims was ‘willful, unlawful, deliberate, with premeditation and with malice aforethought.’ 

After the court document was filed, Kohberger admitted his guilt and accepted a plea deal. In addition to the four life sentences, he was also handed another 10 years for a burglary charge. He also owes $270,000 in civil penalties and fines. 

As part of his plea deal, Kohberger waived his right to appeal. His only chance of getting a new trial is through a petition of post-conviction relief. 

The former criminology student will likely face the death penalty if he is convicted in his new trial.   

The judge who will preside over the new trial remains unknown.

In the meantime, Kohberger has been appointed a new defense attorney, Gregory Richard Rauch. 

James Goldman, one of Kohberger’s lawyers, previously told People about his defense team’s efforts to disqualify Hippler. 

‘This is not about attacking the Court nor asking for special treatment. It is about ensuring that the serious constitutional questions now before the Court are heard in a forum whose impartiality and neutrality cannot be questioned,’ Goldman stated.

Because of that, Goldman said that ‘it would be an inherent conflict for the same presiding judge to decide these very issues.’ 

It its not yet known if Kohberger will appear at his upcoming hearing. He remains in custody at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution. 

The latest update comes just weeks after a new three-part Netflix documentary series, The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare, aired. 

Kaylee’s mother, father, and sister, Kristi, Steve, and Alivea Goncalves; Xana’s father, Jeff Kernodle, and her little sister, Jazzmin Kernodle, were featured in the new show, among friends of the victims and law enforcement officials involved in the case.

After hearing about Kohberger’s bid to get a new trial, Alivea said she wants him ‘no longer breathing on this earth.’

Kaylee’s heartbroken sister previously slammed Kohberger during her victim impact statement last year in court. 

‘I won’t stand here and give you what you want. I won’t give you tears. Instead, I will call you what you are: sociopath, psychopath, murderer,’ she said in the face-to-face courtroom confrontation that was broadcast live.

‘The truth is you’re basic. You’re a textbook case as insecurity disguised as control. You spent months preparing and still all it took was my sister and a sheath,’ she added. ‘You’re as dumb as they come. Stupid, dumb, weak, dirty.’

Last month, Alivea, 29, told NBC’s Today exactly how she feels about him trying to re-write his past. 

‘The fact that someone locked behind bars still has the ability to revictimize their victims, that’s something that isn’t just very easy to get over,’ she told the outlet.

‘This will never be over for us until the defendant is no longer breathing on this earth.’

Brandi Glanville says doctors found something “alive” and “moving” in her face as she continues to deal with troubling facial disfigurement symptoms.

The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star detailed the alarming experience in an Instagram Reel on Monday, calling the situation “crazy” before sharing unsettling ultrasound footage with her followers.

“We did the MRI and it’s all on the left side of my face,” Glanville said from bed while connected to IVs. “But then the doctor decided to do an ultrasound.”

Glanville, 53, went on to say that the ultrasound was performed in the doctor’s office, where the technician allegedly told her there was “something alive” in her face, that it was moving and that she had “never seen anything like it.”

“Then the radiologist agreed,” she added. “So if I don’t find a doctor to cut this out of my face, I’m just gonna do it myself.”

While describing the scary health update, the Bravolebrity she had 40 minutes left of her four-hour IV infusion and then would then be hooked to an antibiotic IV drip overnight.

Glanville undergoes 18 hours of IV infusions every single day, she revealed on Sunday.

“I know I’m so skinny right now,” she said over the weekend. “I can’t eat because the IVs that I do decrease my food. I feel like death, I look like death.”

“So now I have to start my IVs, I mean I’m on IVs almost 20 hours a day,” the former reality star continued. “The only time I leave my house is to do my podcast.”

Glanville insisted the root of her health issues stems from her facial parasite.

The reality star first went public with her facial disfigurement in 2024, blaming Bravo for her “stress”-induced health issues.

A few months later, she shared her doctors’ belief that it actually stemmed from a parasite that “jumps around” her face.

She has also blamed ruptured breast implants.

Back in June, Glanville revealed that she was diagnosed with a benign facial tumor, which “could be why the fluid is going around [her] face.”

Most recently, she told her “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered” listeners, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me, guys. I thought I was fixed … and now it’s sinking in again. If I had answers, I would tell you. I’ve been to a million doctors.” 

Glanville has spent a whopping six figures on medical costs over the past three years.

The U.S. Coast Guard is assisting in the search for a small plane carrying four members of a Florida family that Bahamian authorities believe may have “crash-landed” in the ocean after taking off from Great Harbour Cay.

Family members identified those on board as pilot Mario Lamar, 80, his wife, Lili, 79, and two of their grandchildren, Sofia Sosa, 28, and Christian Sosa, 22, the Miami Herald reported. The group was flying in a PA-34 Piper, a five-seat aircraft, bound for Opa-locka, Florida.

“Please help,” Silvia Larrieu, the couple’s niece, told the newspaper. “I ask anybody out there, if you can help with search and rescue efforts, we would greatly appreciate it. We need to bring them home.”

Larrieu said the family was returning to Florida after spending Labor Day weekend at a vacation property in Great Harbour Cay, a place she said “they’ve spent their whole life going there.” FlightAware data showed the aircraft dropped from 10,000 feet to 3,700 feet in roughly three minutes before it disappeared from radar.

Larrieu told the Miami Herald that Mario Lamar had years of experience as a pilot and always kept the aircraft in “pristine” shape.

U.S. Coast Guard Southeast said Monday it was assisting authorities in the Bahamas “following a report of a downed aircraft with four souls on board approx 15 mi off Andros Island,” with a Coast Guard HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane joining the search.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force said it received a report around 2:20 p.m. on Monday “that an aircraft may have gone down in the waters off Red Bays.”

It added that air traffic control “confirmed that a PA-34 Piper five-seater aircraft, bearing tail number N212ML, departed Great Harbour Cay at approximately 11:12 a.m., en route to Opa-locka, Florida.”

“Air traffic control subsequently lost contact with the aircraft approximately 13 miles west of Andros Island,” the Royal Bahamas Police Force said.

“The Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association (BASRA) advised that the United States Coast Guard had attempted to search the area for the missing aircraft,” police also said. “However, due to inclement weather, the search was postponed until conditions became favorable.”

Miami — A small aircraft carrying four members of the same family disappeared Monday while returning to Florida from the Bahamas, according to the U.S. Coast Guard and Bahamian authorities.

Bahamas police said the plane departed Great Harbour Cay at approximately 10:12 a.m. and was bound for Miami Executive Airport in Miami-Dade County. In a statement released by the family, relatives said the aircraft’s last known contact came at 11:04 a.m. near the western side of Andros Island.

“Police on the island of Andros are coordinating efforts to locate an aircraft believed to have crash-landed off the coast of Red Bays, North Andros,” Bahamas police said.

A relative told the Miami Herald that those aboard were 80-year-old pilot Mario Lamar; his wife, Lili Lamar, 79; and two of their grandchildren, Sofia Sosa, 28, and Christian Sosa, 22. A spokesperson for the family said Mario Lamar has more than four decades of flying experience.

“Please help,” Silvia Larrieu, Mario and Lili’s niece, pleaded in a video statement cited by the Herald. “I ask anybody out there, if you can help with search-and-rescue efforts, we would greatly appreciate it. We need to bring them home.”

The family of those on board asked for fishermen, boaters, pilots or residents of Andros Island to contact authorities with any information. “Every piece of information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be important,” they said.

“The Lamar and Sosa families are deeply grateful to everyone participating in the search and to those who have reached out with support,” the families said in a statement. “They ask the community to keep Mario, Lili, Christian and Sofi in their thoughts and prayers and respectfully request privacy as they await further information.”

Bahamas police identified the plane as a PA-34 Piper five-seater aircraft, with tail number N212ML. It said it departed Great Harbour Cay, a city in the Berry Islands of the Bahamas.

Air traffic control lost contact with the aircraft when it was about 13 miles west of Andros Island, Bahamas police said.

Bahamian officials contacted the U.S. Coast Guard at about 2 p.m. and requested assistance finding a downed plane, a spokesperson said.

“Southeast District command center watchstanders coordinated the launch of an HC-144 Ocean Sentry to assist Bahamian authorities with the search,” the spokesperson said.

The search had to be suspended due to bad weather, Bahamas police said. It wasn’t clear when it would resume.
