Controversy Ignites as British Muslim Police Group Labels IDF ‘Terrorists’ and Challenges Hamas Atrocity Claims

0

The National Association of Muslim Police (NAMP) is currently under fire after it was discovered that a policy document it endorsed contains what opponents label as “antisemitic falsehoods.” Additionally, the organization is facing allegations of being “infiltrated or controlled by Islamist factions.”

This controversy marks another troubling episode for British law enforcement agencies, as they continue to be criticized for allegedly uneven policing tactics, particularly in the context of anti-Israel and pro-British demonstrations.

Uncovered by The Spectator, the contentious paper titled “From Past Prejudices to Present Policies: Confronting Anti-Muslim Hatred and Promoting Human Rights” has sparked significant debate. In the document, former NAMP Vice President Khaldoun Kabbani describes Zionism as “a narrow, nationalist, and colonialist ideology that encourages anti-Muslim sentiment, among other xenophobic tendencies, diverging from the inclusive and compassionate ethos of Judaism.”

Amidst this controversy, a rally was held by the Campaign Against Antisemitism outside Downing Street in London on April 30, 2026, in response to the stabbing of two Jewish men in the Golders Green area. During the event, Prime Minister Keir Starmer committed to enhancing security funding for Jewish institutions and urged collective action against antisemitism. (Carlos Jasso/AFP)

In addition to calling the IDF a Zionist terrorist group, the paper surmises that “eventually” the IDF’s actions following Oct. 7 “will be recognized as terrorism, though likely without any reference to the Jewish faith.” The report appeared to be deleted from the web, though it continues to be hosted online through an archive at the Wayback Machine.

Andrew Fox, senior associate fellow at the Henry Jackson Society, told News Media that the paper is filled with “antisemitic lies and blood libels.”

Kabbani’s paper calls for “dismantling myths through education,” but he presents unsourced facts about Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack.

In one segment, Kabbani notes that “as the hostilities commenced, reports in Israeli and Western media outlets began circulating alarming and unverified stories about acts of violence by Hamas, including claims of beheadings and assaults. These reports have significantly contributed to increasing hatred towards Islam.”

Dr. Chen Kugel, head of the National Center for Forensic Medicine in Israel, told the themedialine in Nov 2023 that many of the burned bodies of Oct. 7 victims, including those of babies, are “without heads.” He admitted it was “difficult to ascertain whether they were decapitated before or after death, as well as how they were beheaded.”

Kabbani also said that reports of 120 children being killed by Hamas “have been challenged by more recent disclosures indicating that not a single Israeli infant was a casualty during the said attacks. It was later confirmed that only one child’s death occurred two days following the attack, with circumstances involving IDF gunfire and lacking precise details.”

Contrary to its report, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has stated that at least 29 of the fatalities from Oct. 7 whose ages had been provided by Oct. 25 were children.

The Campaign Against Antisemitism’s Director of Investigations and Enforcement, Stephen Silverman, said in a public statement that the NAMP paper is “evidence that a major national policing association has been infiltrated by or is controlled by Islamists.” Silverman called for those “responsible for publishing this extremist screed” to be “immediately investigated by their respective forces’ professional standards departments and dismissed.”

The National Police Chiefs’ Council did not respond to News Media’s questions about whether they were concerned by the NAMP’s paper, whether it would take action in reference to it, and whether its statements were problematic for public trust.

News Media also received no response from NAMP or the British government.

Noting the “skyrocketing antisemitism” in the United Kingdom, Fox said that the NAMP’s policy paper is “grossly inappropriate.” He said that “whilst it is important that minority groups have dialogue with the police to ensure their issues are considered, divisive internal organizations, such as a group for Muslim officers, are clearly counterproductive to public trust. This practice should be clamped down on immediately and no police force should engage with this organization going forward.”

May Inflation Hits 3-Year Peak at 4.2 Percent

0

Inflation has surged to its highest level in three years, driven by rising energy costs and other goods due to the ongoing conflict in Iran, as detailed in the latest Department of Labor report released on Wednesday.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a key measure of inflation, climbed by 4.2 percent over the past year, with a 0.5 percent increase recorded in May alone.

This jump in the CPI aligns with Wall Street’s expectations and represents the first time it has exceeded 4 percent since May 2023, marking the highest rate since April of that year.

In May, energy prices experienced a 3.9 percent hike, following rises of 3.8 percent in April and 10.9 percent in March, contributing to over 60 percent of the overall monthly increase in consumer prices.

The Energy Information Administration noted that average gas prices reached $4.49 in mid-May, compared to $4.09 in mid-April. However, the national average has since decreased to $4.15 in June, according to AAA.

The price of fuel has kept increasing as peace talks between the U.S. and Iran drag out, likely threatened by the latest exchanges, which could threaten an already fragile two-month ceasefire.

The food index also saw an increase of 3.1 percent over the past year, with a 0.2 percent rise in May. All other items saw a nearly 3-percent increase in the last year after also rising by 0.2 percent in May.

The latest numbers are not likely to tamp down worries about the cost of living, a growing point of concern among many Americans, according to the latest polling.

President Trump said prior to the latest escalation with Iran that prices would drop as the conflict settles down. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has effectively cut off around 20 percent of the world’s oil from being exported.

Experts have said, however, that even if the Strait of Hormuz soon reopened and fuel shipments passed through to their destinations, it would take time before prices decrease.

On Wednesday, Trump blamed Iran for stalled peace negotiations, though lawmakers excoriated the president after he told reporters that he does not “think about” Americans’ financial situations when negotiating with the Islamic regime.

The Labor Department’s latest report also marks another political blow to Trump and Republican lawmakers making the case for keeping Congress in GOP control in November.

Discover the New Weight Loss Breakthrough: Meet Ozempic’s Latest Competitor

0

A groundbreaking weekly injection, designed to target three hormones, is making waves as a formidable competitor to well-known medications like Ozempic and Mounjaro. This new drug promises to be a significant breakthrough for individuals dealing with type 2 diabetes and obesity.

In a phase III clinical trial, the drug known as retatrutide demonstrated remarkable results. Participants with type 2 diabetes experienced an average weight loss of 15 percent, equating to about 33 pounds, while also achieving near-normal blood sugar levels.

Impressively, nearly 90 percent of those involved in the trial managed to effectively control their blood sugar levels. Additionally, almost 75 percent of participants with prediabetes saw their condition completely reversed.

Though the 15.3 percent weight reduction in diabetic patients is noteworthy, retatrutide’s true potential shines even brighter. For individuals dealing solely with obesity, the weight loss could reach up to a quarter of their total body weight.

In a phase 2 trial focused on obesity, participants without diabetes shed an average of 24.2 percent of their body weight, roughly 52 pounds, on a 12 mg dose. This is a substantial increase compared to the 15.3 percent, or 33 pounds, weight loss observed in the diabetes-focused trial.

People with type 2 diabetes consistently lose less weight on GLP-1-based drugs than those without diabetes, likely due to underlying metabolic differences such as insulin resistance and altered hormone signaling.

Retatrutide belongs to a class of drugs that mimic natural hormones involved in metabolism, but unlike popular medications such as Ozempic, which targets one hormone — GLP-1 — or Mounjaro, which targets two — GIP and GLP-1 — retatrutide is the first to target three: GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon.

The addition of glucagon is what makes the drug unique. While GLP-1 and GIP primarily suppress appetite and slow digestion, glucagon may also increase energy expenditure and promote fat burning, potentially leading to greater weight loss than current options.

Many patients with obesity or overweight-related conditions turn to GLP-1 medications as part of their treatment plan. An estimated 31 million Americans takes one of these drugs to lose weight (stock)

Ozempic, on average, causes a five to 15 percent weight loss and Mounjaro leads to weight loss in the range of 15 to 22 percent.

An estimated 31 million Americans have taken a weight-loss drug.

Retatrutide is not yet approved by the FDA or other regulatory agencies. It is being developed by Eli Lilly, which also makes tirzepatide and orforglipron, two other weight-loss medications sold as Zepbound and Foundayo, respectively.

But according to Marlee Bruno, a board-certified physician associate and founder of Pensacola, Florida medical spa Mind Body & Soul Medical, ‘patients are absolutely already asking about it.’

‘People read headlines, hear about new medications on social media and immediately want to know if it’s better than what they’re currently taking,’ she told the Daily Mail.

The drug is still being studied in a large phase 3 program called TRIUMPH, which is evaluating its safety and effectiveness in thousands of patients with obesity, type 2 diabetes and related conditions.

Bruno added: ‘What makes retatrutide interesting is that it targets three hormone pathways instead of one or two.

‘In theory, that could translate to even greater weight loss and metabolic improvements. But we still need more data before we know exactly where it fits in clinical practice.’

The latest TRANSCEND-T2D-1 trial results, published in The Lancet this week, enrolled 537 adults with early type 2 diabetes. Participants had been diagnosed with diabetes for about two and a half years on average and were not taking any other diabetes medications.

They were randomly assigned to receive either a placebo or one of three doses of retatrutide — 4 mg, 9 mg or 12 mg — once weekly for 40 weeks.

In the latest study on retatrutide in people with diabetes, the graph shows the percentage change in body weight from baseline to week 40 (assuming perfect adherence). People taking retatrutide lost weight steadily, with the 12 mg dose group achieving an average loss of 16.9 percent

The final Phase 3 trials (part of the TRIUMPH program) are expected to be completed throughout 2026, after which Eli Lilly can submit a New Drug Application. The FDA typically takes six to ten months to review an application after it is submitted and soonest approval will likely be in 2027

Researchers found that HbA1c, a key measure of blood sugar control over time, dropped by nearly two percentage points in the highest-dose group, compared to less than one point with the placebo.

Nearly 90 percent of participants on the 12 mg dose reached the target HbA1c of less than seven percent, and 40 percent achieved a completely normal HbA1c below 5.7 percent, all without any cases of dangerously low blood sugar.

The weight loss results were equally impressive. At 40 weeks, participants on the highest dose had lost an average of 15.3 percent of their body weight. For a person weighing 215 pounds, that amounts to about 33 pounds.

Those on the 9 mg dose lost 13.9 percent of their body weight, and those on the 4 mg dose lost 11.5 percent. By comparison, the placebo group lost just 2.6 percent.

A slightly higher figure of 16.9 percent comes from an ‘efficacy estimand,’ which assumes every participant took the drug perfectly for 40 weeks.

The 15.3 percent figure reflects real-world conditions, accounting for missed doses and dropouts.

Even more noteworthy, weight loss had not yet plateaued by the end of the 40-week study, suggesting that longer treatment could lead to even greater results.

The study also examined a combined outcome that researchers say better captures the drug’s overall benefit: achieving both excellent blood sugar control and clinically meaningful weight loss.

Up to 64 percent of participants on retatrutide achieved this composite goal, compared to just three percent of people on the placebo.

An earlier phase 2 obesity trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine suggested that women may lose more weight than men on retatrutide, and people with higher starting BMIs may also see greater results. But researchers stress that more studies are needed to understand who will benefit most.

Beyond blood sugar and weight, retatrutide also improved several other markers of cardiometabolic health, including blood pressure, cholesterol and prediabetes.

Systolic blood pressure dropped by about 5mmHg in retatrutide groups, compared to 1.5mmHg with placebo.

Cholesterol fell by up to 17 percent, while triglycerides, the fats in the blood, dropped by up to 34 percent.

Among participants who had prediabetes at the start, 72 percent of them returned to normal blood sugar levels after 40 weeks of retatrutide treatment.

As with other drugs in this class, gastrointestinal side effects were the most common.

Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and constipation affected a significant number of participants, particularly during the first few weeks of treatment as doses were gradually increased.

A phase 2 obesity trial with retatrutide found that people without diabetes lost 24.2 percent of their body weight (about 52 pounds) on the 12 mg dose over 48 weeks, compared to just 2.1 percent on placebo. Weight loss had not plateaued by the end of the study, suggesting even greater results with longer treatment

Weight loss had not plateaued by the end of the study, suggesting even greater results with longer treatment

However, most side effects were mild to moderate, and they tended to subside over time.

Discontinuation rates due to adverse events were low across retatrutide groups at around two to five percent.

No severe hypoglycemia was reported, a key safety finding for a diabetes drug. There were no cases of severe pancreas inflammation or thyroid cancer, though the study was not long enough to fully assess these rare risks.

Some participants experienced mild skin sensitivity or a temporary increase in heart rate. The increase in heart rate peaked around 24 weeks and then declined, a pattern similar to that seen with other GLP-1 drugs.

The results suggest retatrutide may outperform some current medications for obesity.

In a previous trial of semaglutide (Wegovy), patients lost about 14.9 percent of their body weight on the highest dose. With tirzepatide (Zepbound), weight loss reached about 20.9 percent.

Retatrutide is also being studied for other conditions, including knee osteoarthritis and obstructive sleep apnea, which could broaden its potential use by the tens of millions.

If ongoing phase 3 trials confirm these results and regulatory approval follows, retatrutide could become available by late 2026 or 2027.

However, a lack of FDA approval has not appeared to stop the drug from being prescribed or sold online.

On one website, it appears consumers can purchase a 5 mg vial of ‘research-grade’ retatrutide for $675.

And Reddit is rife with posts from people exchanging tips on which sites to buy the drug, how to mix it into a liquid solution at home and how to inject it.

In one thread, a user explained that the drug arrives as a powder that must be combined with bacteriostatic water — ‘Don’t use distilled though!’ — while another offered a referral code for a site that sells ‘research-grade’ retatrutide alongside syringes from Amazon.

Dozens of clinics across the country are openly advertising retatrutide, according to a CBS News investigation.

The practice breaks a long-standing medical rule — waiting for FDA approval before prescribing — and is fueling a commercial market for a drug that federal law prohibits from being sold.

Some physicians work with licensed compounding pharmacies that produce their own versions of retatrutide, sourcing the active ingredient from bulk suppliers.

As with other drugs in this class, gastrointestinal side effects were the most common. Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and constipation affected a significant number of participants, particularly during the first few weeks of treatment as doses were gradually increased

While compounding pharmacies are legally permitted to make versions of FDA-approved drugs under certain conditions, the FDA says there is no legal justification for compounding an experimental drug that has never been approved.

Asked if there were any grounds to compound retatrutide, Scott Brunner, the CEO of the Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding, told CBS News: ‘Zero, none; none whatsoever.’

Nevertheless, at least five compounding pharmacies across Texas and Florida are openly making retatrutide and since 2024, the FDA has issued 14 warning letters to companies advertising retatrutide.

Other doctors are prescribing retatrutide labeled as ‘research grade’ or ‘for research use only,’ a disclaimer designed to shield sellers from legal liability.

These products come from unregulated suppliers that are not subject to FDA oversight for safety or purity. Doctors who use these sources argue that third-party lab certificates confirm the product’s content.

Australian Fugitive James Dalamangas Speaks Out After Greek Court Appearance

0

IN BRIEF

  • Australian fugitive James Dalamangas has appeared in court after being arrested in Greece.
  • NSW Police officials have welcomed the arrest and said they are continuing to engage with Greek authorities.

Australian fugitive James Dalamangas has made serious claims regarding his brother’s death while standing outside a courthouse in Greece, where he is currently fighting extradition to his home country.

Following a court session in Patras, a city in Western Greece, Dalamangas’ lawyer, Nikos Apostolopoulos, argued that his client’s Greek citizenship and the elapsed time since the alleged offense should prevent the extradition process.

“Although there is a bilateral agreement for cooperation with Australia, the offense is no longer actionable under the Greek Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure, making extradition to Australia impossible,” Apostolopoulos explained to the local media.

The decision on whether Dalamangas will be extradited now rests with Greece’s Council of Appeals, as noted by the defense lawyer.

“Our primary legal argument is that the alleged crime has surpassed the statute of limitations,” Apostolopoulos stated, emphasizing that his client refutes the accusations against him.

As he left court, Dalamangas made allegations about the death of his brother, Peter Dalamangas, who died after being restrained by security guards at a Sydney casino in 1998.

“Let the world know the truth. They murdered my brother in 1998 at the casino,” he reportedly told local media.

He also alleged a police officer was responsible for his brother’s death, claims for which no evidence has been presented.

Dalamangas appeared in court with white hair and a white beard after being arrested in Greece, where authorities allege he had been living under a false identity.

Greek authorities have also made separate allegations of forgery and impersonation against him.

His father and partner were also reportedly detained over allegations of harbouring a fugitive.

Australian authorities welcome arrest

Dalamangas remains wanted by Australian authorities over the alleged murder of George Giannopoulos in Sydney in 1999.

Authorities allege Giannopoulos was fatally stabbed while attempting to intervene during violence at a nightclub in Sydney’s southwest before Dalamangas fled Australia.

A NSW Police spokesperson said the force was “encouraged by reports of the arrest” and that Australian authorities were continuing to engage with their counterparts in Greece.

According to reporting in The Daily Telegraph, NSW Police had continued sharing information with Greek authorities regarding Dalamangas’ whereabouts in the lead-up to the arrest, which came after Australian authorities sought his return under an Interpol Red Notice.

Attempts to extradite him to Australia in the early 2000s were unsuccessful, with Greek authorities later agreeing to pursue the matter locally.

A legal process will now determine whether Dalamangas can be returned to Australia or whether further proceedings take place in Greece.

Arrest after years out of sight

Greek media has reported that Dalamangas had been living in the country for years under an alias in a rural property near Patras, where neighbours reportedly described him as keeping a low profile and working as a farmer.

Greek outlet Tempo24 reported that Dalamangas lived under the name Antonis Tzimas for 18 years in the rural village of Alsos. Authorities believe he purchased property in the village and was known as a farmer.

Reports from Greece also said police monitored the property before arresting Dalamangas alongside his father and partner.

Police allegedly recovered multiple mobile phones, electronic devices and weapons during searches of the property.

The arrest followed years of public appeals and investigative efforts in Australia and Greece, with George Giannopoulos’ family previously urging anyone with information to come forward.

Australian police had previously offered $200,000 for information leading to Dalamangas’ capture, as previous public calls for information failed to produce fresh leads on the 55-year-old’s whereabouts.

NSW and federal police made their most recent public appeal to locate Dalamangas in 2024, as the 25-year-long statute of limitations approached in Greece.

Cardi B’s Response to Karmelo Anthony Verdict Sparks Viral Debate and Massive Viewership

0

The guilty verdict against Karmelo Anthony has sparked a whirlwind of reactions across social media. Opinions are divided, with some applauding the jury’s decision while others criticize it, offering support for Anthony despite his conviction.

Anthony faced charges and was ultimately found guilty of murder after stabbing Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet in April 2025. His conviction resulted in a 35-year prison sentence.

The incident occurred when Anthony, now 19, stabbed Metcalf in the chest during a confrontation between the two teens near a team tent at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

Following Tuesday’s verdict, rapper Cardi B posted on X, “Wow! Just freakin wow! DISGUSTING… This is not justice, this is trying to make an example!!!”

The artist’s post has generated 10 million views with tens of thousands of impressions. Tomi Lahren, a Fox News political commentator and host of Outkick’s “Tomi Lahren Is Fearless,” responded to the post saying, “Yes, the example is, don’t stab somebody in the chest. Thanks for playing.”

Others have also weighed in on the post. Matt Van Swol, a user with more than half a million followers, replied: “I know… It’s like, ‘Damn, Black people cant stab any White people to death anymore and not go to prison just because they are Black.’ Devastating.”

Zeek Arkham, a former New York Police Department officer and current host of “Reasonable Suspiscion” podcast, replied: “‘Trying to make an example?’ Yes, Cardi…stabbing people is bad. We should make stabbing people as unattractive as possible. Might cause people to think before they stab someone. Thanks… I think?”

Trump Reverses Course on Intel Chief Appointment Amid Republican Backlash

0

In a surprising move, former President Donald Trump has completely changed course regarding his choice for the country’s leading intelligence position.

Trump took to Truth Social to announce his search for a seasoned national security expert to take on the permanent role of Director of National Intelligence. In the interim, he has appointed a loyal supporter to swiftly implement changes within the agency.

“I have instructed him to carry out the immediate and necessary downsizing of the office, returning staff to their original agencies,” Trump stated in his post, while also mentioning his ongoing search for a permanent ODNI leader.

Trump revealed that Bill Pulte, currently serving as the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, will step in as acting Director of National Intelligence on June 19th. This follows the unexpected resignation of Tulsi Gabbard.

This shift in Trump’s approach comes after a meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson in the Oval Office. Johnson urged Trump to consider a new nominee to help mitigate Democratic resistance to the renewal of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

In his Truth Social post, Trump writes that FISA is important to the administration, the military and keeping Americans safe, ‘especially during the World Cup and America250 Celebrations.’

‘If nothing is done, this important Law will expire this week. I am asking Congress to send me a short-term extension of FISA to provide time for the selection and confirmation of a permanent Head of the Agency,’ Trump wrote.

Earlier reporting claimed their meeting ‘didn’t go very well,’ with Trump pushing back on Johnson’s suggestion that he needed to placate Democrats, according to Politico.

This change in tone comes Trump comes after Johnson met with him in the Oval Office on Tuesday afternoon, pressing him to consider a different nominee in a bid to ease the Democratic opposition threatening FISA's renewal

As for Johnson, he told reporters the briefing with the President went well but wouldn’t go into specifics, before criticizing Democrats for holding FISA powers ‘hostage.’

Intelligence officials consider FISA one of their most valuable tools for tracking foreign threats, and warn that a lapse would leave agencies in the dark on terrorist networks, spies and cyber adversaries.

Pulte’s elevation to the post has drawn anger from lawmakers in both parties.

Sources tell the Daily Mail that several top advisors vehemently doubted the decision-making, panicking over Pulte’s absolute lack of intelligence or national security credentials.

However, a defiant Trump has fought back aggressively against the internal dissent, only softening his stance now.

Gabbard announced in May that she would be resigning from Trump’s cabinet due to her husband’s rare bone cancer.

Trump elevated Pulte, a longtime aide and current director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, as her replacement.

The President, however, does not plan to formally nominate Pulte, who will instead serve on an acting basis.

Installing him temporarily lets the White House sidestep congressional scrutiny, since an acting appointment does not require Senate confirmation.

‘You’re less shackled,’ Trump said last week when discussing Pulte’s status. ‘It sort of gives you more power, you know, for a somewhat limited period of time.’

Trump added that he plans for Pulte to purge the intelligence community of holdovers from the Obama and Biden administrations.

The President told Pulte that the 18 agencies that he now oversees are ‘unnecessary and/or too big.’

Trump told the Wall Street Journal: ‘I’d like to see it smaller. I think there are a lot of people in there that shouldn’t be there.’

Evanna Lynch Offers Insight into Ameline’s Enigma in “Dragon Striker” and Her Unique Character Interpretation

0

LOS ANGELES — In Disney XD’s animated series “Dragon Striker,” the character Ameline is portrayed as a reserved and enigmatic figure, part of a youthful team honing their skills at a magical academy. However, her quiet demeanor might conceal deeper secrets.

Ameline is brought to life by the voice of Evanna Lynch, known for her role as Luna Lovegood in the “Harry Potter” films. She joins the protagonist, Key, along with teammates Ssyelle and Milo, in competing in Gototama—a fantastical sport that combines elements of soccer with magical powers.

The series chronicles the journey of Key, a determined underdog striving to make his mark at a prestigious academy in a fiercely competitive realm.

As Key navigates his challenges, Ameline emerges as a character who might possess a greater understanding of their mystical environment than she lets on.

“She has her own mission, I don’t want to say too much,” Lynch hinted in an interview with On The Red Carpet, adding an air of intrigue to her character’s storyline.

Lynch says she was first introduced to Ameline through only a couple of images, but immediately connected with the character’s design and energy.

“The immediate impression was small, big eyes, you know and I kind of was like ‘this is a character I’m going to get.’ There’s just a quality of her that I felt I can tune in to her.”

The “Harry Potter” star also highlighted one of the show’s central ideas, a group of unlikely heroes trying to navigate a much bigger world.

“You have this team of underdogs, and they care so much about what they’re doing and they’re trying so hard, but they don’t have the full picture of what’s going on in the whole world around them,” she said. “I think that’s a very unique and interesting journey that the show has put them on, that they are trying to find themselves in a very capricious environment.”

At its heart, “Dragon Striker” is also about found family, as the students form close bonds despite being from different backgrounds and facing rival groups.

“Every character is so different and has such a different backstory and such a different level of skills on the field. I think that’s a beautiful thing for viewers to watch and find something in each person that they can identify with.”

All episodes of “Dragon Striker” are streaming now on Disney+ and Hulu.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Disney+ and this ABC station.

Bill Gates Opens Up About Heartbreaking Challenges in His Marriage

0

Bill Gates recently disclosed that Jeffrey Epstein attempted to use Gates’ extramarital affairs as leverage against him during a significant congressional hearing on Capitol Hill this Wednesday.

The 70-year-old co-founder of Microsoft firmly denied any misconduct on his part but stated that Epstein tried to exploit sensitive personal details to pressure him into rekindling their relationship after it had ended.

According to Gates’ prepared testimony for the House Oversight Committee, he admitted, “I learned Epstein had become aware of private details about my personal life, specifically that I had been unfaithful in my marriage. These affairs were unrelated to my interactions with Epstein but caused distress within my family.”

Gates initially connected with Epstein in 2011, as the financier claimed he could assist in generating substantial funds for worldwide public health projects. At the time, Epstein was already a registered sex offender.

Addressing the committee, Gates reflected, “I was aware that Epstein had encountered previous legal troubles, but I did not fully grasp the severity of his crimes. I accepted the meeting without exercising the caution I should have.”

He claimed his interactions with the pedophile were ‘limited’ and testified that all contact was ended in 2014.

Gates alleged that Epstein used what he knew of his infidelities, ‘in addition to many lies that he layered on top,’ to push him toward re-engaging afterwards.

‘He was unsuccessful in this effort, but it shows some of the ways he tried to leverage his interactions with me to further his agenda. I should never have met with Epstein in the first place,’ Gates said.

Gates was hauled before Congress after bombshell photos and emails in the Epstein files exposed startling new depths to his friendship with the financier.

In one jaw-dropping email, Epstein alleged Gates planned to secretly slip his wife Melinda an antibiotic to treat a sexually transmitted disease he caught from ‘Russian girls.’

The files also contained never-before-seen photos of Gates posing with young women.

Gates’s 27-year marriage to Melinda imploded in 2021, with his cozy ties to Epstein helping to wreck it.

Melinda said of Epstein after their divorce: ‘He was abhorrent. He was evil personified. My heart breaks for these women.’

Gates has called associating with Epstein a ‘huge mistake’, but claims that he ‘did nothing wrong’ and ‘saw nothing illegal.’

Gates struck up the friendship in 2011, three years after Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida to soliciting prostitution from a minor, and kept it going until at least late 2014, the documents show.

The pair met in person, traded emails and Gates flew on Epstein’s private jet, though he has repeatedly denied ever setting foot on the pedophile’s Caribbean island.

Epstein was federally indicted in July 2019 on charges of sex trafficking of minors and related conspiracy.

The Justice Department alleged that Epstein formed a vast network of underage girls, some as young as 14, for him to sexually abuse between 2002 and 2005. He died by suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial.

Gates has called the ‘Russian girls’ email fake and denied the allegations. He told Australian television in February that he had been ‘foolish’ to associate with Epstein, but said the relationship had nothing to do with the financier’s crimes. Appearing in the Epstein files does not indicate evidence of a crime.

‘Every minute I spent with him, I regret, and I apologize that I did that… It’s factually true that I was only at dinners. I never went to (his) island, I never met any women,’ he said.

Gates told his foundation staff that he had affairs with two Russian women, the Wall Street Journal reported, but denied spending time with Epstein’s victims.

Gates reportedly acknowledged that his then-wife Melinda raised concerns about Epstein in 2013, but that he continued the relationship for at least another year.

Melinda has said remaining questions about the relationship are for her ex-husband and others to answer.

The House Oversight Committee has been investigating Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell as part of a broad examination of how the government handled the case and what it has released from its files.

Donald Trump, who also had a years-long relationship with Epstein, initially opposed releasing the files, prompting accusations of a coverup that dogged his first year back in office.

Democrats say they intend to ask what Gates knew about Epstein’s crimes and the full nature of their relationship.

The interview will not be videotaped, unlike several others released by the committee, but a transcript is expected to be released.

Gates reportedly hired former DOJ lawyer John Moran and was prepped by Jake Greenberg, a former top Oversight Committee investigator. Ethics experts said the move raised eyebrows over optics but did not necessarily break any rules.
