Per Boston Magazine, Dushku was inspired to embark on new career path after being diagnosed with PTSD and undergoing treatment herself seven years ago.

She was talking to Boston Globe Media CEO Linda Pizzuti Henry about signing up for the Run to Home Base marathon to support local veterans.

In the video, she encouraged other people to join even if they walk instead of running the marathon set to take place in July. 

‘I got to be honest, I’m getting a little nervous,’ she said to Henry at one point. ‘I run after my kids, that’s about the extent of it.’

Earlier this month, Dushku also returned to her alma mater to receive an honorary doctorate and give a speech at the commencement ceremony about her new career, working with veterans and their families as a mental health counselor at Home Base.

Late last year, Dushku confirmed she retired from acting after a 25-year career, which began with her first role at just age nine, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. 

‘I couldn’t get back to school long enough to figure out what my new career would be, so I kept acting,’ she explained as she recalled how she was preparing to go to college at age 17 when she was offered a role on Buffy. 

Reflecting on her acting career after nearly a decade away from the limelight, she said: ‘I had many beautiful experiences. Certainly, I also had many harder experiences, which I’ve talked about, but I would be remiss if I didn’t truly highlight all the incredible people that I met and worked with.’ 

She told the outlet about how she celebrated 17 years of sobriety in November 2025 and also opened up about how psychedelic assisted therapy for PTSD inspired her new career path.

She previously accused Bull costar Michael Weatherly of sexual harassment and sued CBS after being written off the series in retaliation for reporting the incidents. In 2018, she received a $9.5 million settlement from CBS. 

Separately, she also alleged that stunt coordinator Joel Kramer sexually assaulted her when she was 12 years old and filming the 1994 film True Lies. Kramer has consistently denied these allegations.

In a surprising turn of events, charges against college students accused of orchestrating a “takeover” event at a beach earlier this month have been dropped.

The Delaware Department of Justice announced the dismissal of charges due to a lack of evidence, as stated by Attorney General Kathy Jennings, according to a report by FOX29 Philadelphia.

Earlier in the month, it was confirmed by Fox News Digital that the Rehoboth Beach Police Department had arrested four students from Delaware State University. The students—19-year-old Xander Nicholl, 21-year-olds Angelin Clauvil and Eric Barnett, and 22-year-old Keyon Scott—faced charges of facilitating a riot and conspiracy in the second degree.

Chaos ensued when hundreds of young people gathered on the beach and boardwalk on May 19 after the alleged “takeover” event was advertised on social media.

The event led to several arrests for illegal drug use, underage drinking and disorderly, and disorderly conduct among others, with businesses shutting down early.

When the state DOJ dropped the charges, the City of Rehoboth Beach did not get the memo.

“The City of Rehoboth Beach has not been contacted by the Department of Justice regarding reports that charges arising from the May 19 beach takeover incident have been dismissed,” a spokesperson for the City of Rehoboth Beach told Fox News Digital in a statement. “Based on our current understanding, it does not appear that all relevant facts and circumstances have yet been fully reviewed. As such, we believe further explanation regarding the reported disposition of these charges would be beneficial to both the City and the public. In addition, the City has reached out to Fleur McKendall of the NAACP to arrange a meeting and discuss these matters. At this time, we have not yet received a response but remain willing to engage in a constructive dialogue.”

Both the Delaware DOJ and NAACP Delaware State Conference of Branches did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

United Airlines faced an unexpected disruption on a flight from Newark Liberty International Airport to Spain when it had to return mid-journey on Saturday due to a potential security concern.

The aircraft, which took off around 6 p.m. heading for Palma de Mallorca, Spain, made its way back to Newark, touching down at 9:37 p.m., as confirmed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Onboard were 190 passengers and a crew of 12 aboard the Boeing 767.

Audio from air traffic control revealed that an investigation ensued after a Bluetooth device was detected with a suspicious name reportedly including a troubling four-letter word. A passenger indicated that the word in question was “bomb.”

Social media accounts from those on the flight mentioned that the crew persistently requested that all Bluetooth devices be turned off, though a couple remained active. The decision to return was made after discussions with United’s headquarters in Chicago.

Upon landing, passengers were evacuated while Port Authority police conducted a thorough search of the aircraft. Travelers were also required to undergo additional screening by TSA and Customs and Border Patrol before being allowed to reboard. United Airlines has not disclosed further details about the incident.

Passengers boarded a replacement flight with a new crew, which took off early Sunday morning and landed in Palma in the afternoon.

This was the latest incident with a United Airlines flight this month. On Friday, a domestic flight was diverted because of a security concern with an unruly passenger. Earlier this month, a United flight landing at Newark airport struck a semitrailer truck and a light pole, though no one was injured.

Iran has decisively halted all diplomatic engagement with the United States, leveling accusations against Israel for breaking the ceasefire by targeting its proxy, Hezbollah, in Lebanon.

The IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency announced on X that Iran’s negotiating team has halted “discussions and exchanges of texts through intermediaries.” This decision comes in protest against what Iran describes as the “Zionist regime’s ongoing crimes” in Lebanon. The agency noted that Lebanon was a crucial part of the ceasefire conditions, which have now been breached, affecting the truce on multiple fronts, including Lebanon itself.

Iranian officials and negotiators have stressed the urgent need for Israel to cease its military operations in Gaza and Lebanon and to withdraw completely from occupied Lebanese territories. Until Iran and allied resistance groups see their demands met, they have declared that no further dialogue will take place.

Additionally, Iran has issued a warning about escalating the conflict by targeting other strategic locations in the region. “The Resistance Front and Iran are determined to pursue the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz,” stated the agency, adding that they are also considering activating other strategic points, such as the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, as part of their strategy to retaliate against Israel and its allies.

The White House did not immediately respond for a request for comment.

‘Bettina’s a really nice girl, and I hope she gets to have her baby soon,’ said Stone. ‘That’s what she’s wanted her whole life, to be like her sister Kristina and have babies, and not to have to watch her nieces and nephews grow up without her having any babies. Another Palm Beach insider said that Bettina was – like her glamorous society parents – ‘charming and good looking,’ and determined to make the most of her genetic gifts.

‘Bettina stayed in Palm Beach, rather than moving to New York or London to work for a living, because she wanted to meet a rich man and get married,’ the source said.

By contrast, Stone moved away from Palm Beach as soon as she could and, 20 years older than Bettina, says that while they are in touch they are not particularly close.

Stone was not invited to either the Mar-a-Lago bridal shower or Bahamas wedding – Bebe was, she said – and has not met her new brother-in-law.

Their father, whose own parents were also part of Palm Beach high society, bought the family’s lavish waterfront home in 1983.

Two years later Donald Trump and then-wife Ivana purchased Mar-a-Lago and moved in two miles down the road.

They are just, she says, ‘very, very different.’

After graduating from high school in Boca Raton, Bettina studied art history, criticism and conservation at Columbia University in New York City.

But soon she was back in Florida, devoting her time to philanthropic endeavors and environmental projects, modelling and galas – selling her outfits on her Shop My page as she went.

‘No,’ said Stone. ‘She doesn’t like live animals.’

Is that a reference to hunting? Bettina has spoken frequently of her love of spear fishing, and her new husband frequently courts controversy with his exploits – in recent years he has bagged an elephant, buffalo and crocodile in Zimbabwe; hunted grizzly bears in Alaska; and shot an endangered sheep in Mongolia.

The half-sister’s outlook on life is, Stone said, extremely different.

Bettina’s mother, Inger, raised her four children in a home with a needlepoint cushion on the sofa stating: ‘You can never be too rich or too thin.’

‘That’s really a Palm Beach thing,’ said Stone. ‘Everyone there thinks like that.’

Money and status, Stone said, are everything there. And marrying ‘well’ is essential.

‘Inger made sure that was the way they were brought up,’ she said. ‘They would never date anybody that didn’t have something. Bettina is like that as well, but they all are.

‘Because of what she’s been brought up with, she wouldn’t be drawn to anything else. I think that she’s had very high expectations ever since she was a little girl.’

Set in the context of these long-held desires, Bettina’s former Instagram bio seems more wistful than witty: ‘I’m just your typical stay at home mom…only I don’t do household chores…or have a husband…or have kids…’

The Daily Mail has reached out for comment.

For her part, Stone said she wishes her half-sibling every happiness.

‘Bettina has a very strong personality… and she’ll do very well in that relationship,’ said Stone. ‘She’ll be able to cope with the spotlight – although and she doesn’t do very well with criticism. So that should be interesting.’

‘She’s opinionated,’ said Stone, rather than political.

For now, however, Stone expects the pair to limit their ambitions to simply buying a big house in Palm Beach and starting a family.

‘That’s her life,’ Stone said. ‘She’s not leaving Palm Beach.’

Unless, perhaps, the White House beckons.
