EPA Chief Lee Zeldin Claps Back at Controversial Weed Killer Challenge Amid Fiery Hearing: A Tale of Political Self-Destruction

0

During a contentious congressional budget hearing on Monday, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin took issue with Rep. Rosa DeLauro’s fiery criticism, labeling her as “uninformed.” The exchange came after the Connecticut Democrat made an explosive suggestion that Zeldin drink weed killer, highlighting the tensions between the two.

In her role as the ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee, DeLauro, notable for her distinctive purple hair, fiercely critiqued Zeldin’s budget proposal. She claimed the proposal resembled a “climate change denier’s manifesto” and challenged the EPA chief to explain how the agency could seemingly neglect its responsibility to safeguard Americans from the impacts of climate change.

Zeldin, who previously served as a Republican congressman from New York, stood firm in his response. “I am adhering to the law,” he stated, pointing to Section 202 of the Clean Air Act and questioning where it explicitly mandates efforts to combat global climate change.

Faced with Zeldin’s retort, DeLauro, at 83, found herself momentarily at a loss for words.

 DeLauro, 83, remained silent.

“Loper Bright. Supreme Court case. Are you familiar with it?” Zeldin asked.

The flustered congressman admitted she was ignorant of the case but argued Zeldin didn’t have “the right to say climate change does not exist, that it’s a hoax, and that’s where this administration is coming from.”

“I know you’re upset. You don’t know what Loper Bright is. Do you know what the major policies doctrine is?” Zeldin challenged DeLauro, adding, “You’re a member of Congress, you should know.”

DeLauro snapped after Zeldin rattled off a couple more major Supreme Court cases that the Democratic lawmaker appeared unaware of.

“Woah. You know, you’re here because you need money from us,” she screamed, wagging her finger at the Trump administration official. “So halt for this second and wait for the question and answer the question!”

Zeldin insisted that he answered the question and accused the congresswoman of being “somebody who likes the microphone on” but doesn’t actually read federal statutes.

“I don’t have to listen to this BS!” DeLauro raged.

“BS? You think I made up these cases?” Zeldin shot back.

“Yeah, I think you have made up a whole lot,” DeLauro responded.

Later on in the hearing, when things appeared to settle down a bit, DeLauro accused the Trump EPA of not doing enough to go after polluters.

Zeldin opened up his binder and started comparing the Trump administration’s enforcement actions to the Biden administration’s when DeLauro interjected.

“Glyphosate,” she said, referring to the active ingredient in the pesticide Roundup.

Zeldin advised that if the congresswoman’s cup was filled with glyphosate, she should not drink it.

To which DeLauro responded, “Maybe you should try doing that.”

“Nothing infuriates an uninformed Congressional Dem more than when they realize they voluntarily triggered a debate with someone who actually knows what they are talking about, reads federal statute and adheres to Supreme Court precedent,” Zeldin wrote on X after the hearing.

“Today’s self-implosion by [DeLauro] was quite remarkable to witness,” he added.

On DeLauro’s suggestion he drink weed killer, Zeldin reacted: “When you don’t have anything good to say, some advise to just not say anything at all.”

He argued DeLauro “apparently believes that when you don’t have anything good to say, you should instruct the person you are debating to kill themself.”

DeLauro’s office did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Jimmy Kimmel Defends Himself Amid Controversy Over Latest Trump Remarks: Calls for Firing Intensify

0

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has stepped up to defend the American right to free speech following backlash from a controversial joke that led to calls from the White House for his dismissal.

“Ever had one of those mornings where you wake up to find the First Lady has issued a statement demanding your termination? We’ve all been there, right?” Kimmel quipped during the opening of his monologue on Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, airing today in Australia.

The uproar began when Kimmel made a joke suggesting that Melania Trump had the aura of an “expectant widow,” just days before a gunman opened fire near the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday.

President Trump and his supporters have since characterized the joke as inciting violence.

“Let me be clear, there was no intention to incite assassination in any form,” Kimmel clarified in his monologue today.

“And they know that. I’ve been very vocal for many years speaking out against gun violence in particular.

“I agree that hateful and violent rhetoric is something we should reject.

“I also should point out Donald Trump is allowed to say whatever he wants to say, as are you and as am I and as are all of us, because under the First Amendment we have as Americans the right to free speech.”

There is no indication that Disney, which owns ABC (American Broadcasting Corporation), is thinking about firing Kimmel.

Putin’s Influence Dwindles: Russian Forces Ousted from Mali Stronghold by Separatists and Jihadists

0

JOHANNESBURG: Reports from Mali indicate a substantial setback for Russia’s mercenary forces, known as the Africa Corps, following clashes with jihadist and tribal militias. These confrontations, involving al Qaeda-affiliated rebels and predominantly Muslim Tuareg tribesmen, have spread across several cities in the West African nation. On Monday, there were also reports of high-ranking officials in Mali’s military government being either killed or injured.

Experts suggest this development could mark a pivotal shift in Russia’s standing in West Africa. Historically, Russia has capitalized on Mali’s mineral wealth, particularly gold, in exchange for pledges to safeguard the nation from insurgent threats. However, on Sunday, it was reported that Russian mercenaries had to retreat from their stronghold in the northern city of Kidal after rebel advances.

Ulf Laessing, who leads the Sahel program at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, spoke to the Associated Press, stating, “These attacks represent a significant setback for Russia.” He further explained, “The Russian mercenaries lacked crucial intelligence regarding the attacks and failed to protect major urban centers. Their actions exacerbated the conflict by not differentiating between civilians and combatants.”

Fox News Digital has obtained video evidence showing deceased soldiers, presumed to be Russian based on their appearance, alongside footage of Russian military vehicles reportedly withdrawing from Kidal.

A column of black smoke rises above buildings as traffic passes the Africa Tower monument in Bamako on April 26, 2026. April 25, 2026’s shock attacks, synchronized by Tuareg rebels of the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) coalition and the jihadist Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM), targeted several areas in the vast arid country. Fighting resumed on April 26 in several areas, including Kita near Bamako, Kidal, Gao and Severe.Tuareg rebels meanwhile announced an agreement allowing Russian forces backing Mali’s army to withdraw from the northern city of Kidal, which they claimed was “totally” under their control. The Defense News Nigeria media site reported that Russia’s Africa Corps stated in Kidal “they were heavily outnumbered by a ratio of 6 to 1,” adding “the Corps claimed that between 10,000 and 12,000 fighters were involved in yesterday’s attacks. There are 2,000 Russian mercenaries operating in Mali. The Malian government pays Wagner $10 million per month for security,” according to the Nigerian publication.

A Russian blog on Telegram Monday, claiming to come from Kidal, stated “the units of the African Corps that were stationed and fought in Kidal left this settlement together with the military personnel of the Malian army. First of all, wounded servicemen and heavy equipment were evacuated. The personnel continues to carry out the assigned combat mission. The situation in the Republic of Mali remains difficult.”

A spokesperson for the Tuareg-led Azawad Liberation Front, or FLA, told the Associated Press that the Russian troops have withdrawn from the city after a “white” agreement was reached. This has not been confirmed by either Mali’s government or Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Russia has engaged in under-the-radar military operations in at least half a dozen countries in Africa in the last five years using a shadowy mercenary force analysts say is loyal to President Vladimir Putin. The analysts say the Africa Corps, formerly the Wagner Group, of mercenaries is also key to Putin’s ambitions to re-impose Russian influence on a global scale.  (French Army via AP)

Russia’s ministry of foreign affairs said on its Telegram account that “two hundred and fifty militants attacked Bamako Senou International Airport and the military base located nearby. The Malian Armed Forces repelled the attack and are currently taking further steps to eliminate the militia that may have been, reportedly, trained by Western security agencies. Russia is deeply concerned about these developments. This terrorist activity poses a direct threat to the stability of friendly Mali and could have the most serious consequences for the entire region.”

Mali’s military junta, which first took power in a coup in 2020, Monday announced that both the chief of the armed forces’ general staff, Gen. Oumar Diarra, and the director of the national security agency, Gen. Modibo Koné, have been wounded in attacks.

The government confirmed earlier that Sadio Camara, said to be the second most important figure in Mali’s military junta, had been killed in the fighting. Camara was Mali’s defense minister, and is widely credited with bringing in Moscow’s mercenary Africa Corps to assist in battling the militia.

The rebels attempting to take over Mali are said to be jihadists from the Nusrat al-Islam (GSIM/JNIM) linked with the tribesmen of the FLA and other groups, including at least one linked with Islamic State. The GSIM’s declared aim is to turn Mali into an al Qaeda-linked Islamic caliphate with strict Sharia law.

“The United States strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Mali,” a State Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital Monday, adding: “We extend our deepest condolences to the victims, their families, and all those affected. We stand with the Malian people and government in the face of this violence. The United States remains committed to supporting efforts to advance peace, stability, and security across Mali and the region.”

The U.S. Embassy in Mali warned Sunday on its website that “U.S. citizens should continue to shelter in place, remain alert, follow local news for updates, and avoid areas where security operations may be underway.”

On Monday, multiple reports said Malian troops and Russian mercenaries have also been forced by rebels to withdraw from the northern Malian city of Tessit. At the time of publication, this had not been confirmed by the Malian government.

George and Amal Clooney Turn Heads at 51st Chaplin Award Gala: A Night of Elegance

0

On Monday night, George and Amal Clooney made a striking appearance at the 51st Chaplin Award Gala, where George took the opportunity to stand up for Jimmy Kimmel against criticism from former President Donald Trump.

The 64-year-old actor was joined by his wife, Amal, a 48-year-old human rights lawyer. Amal captivated the audience in a vibrant fuchsia dress as the couple attended the event, where George was celebrated for his contributions to film.

During his time on stage, Clooney addressed political topics, particularly defending late-night host Kimmel. This followed Trump’s recent demand that ABC dismiss Kimmel after a joke the comedian made about Melania Trump, suggesting she looked like “an expectant widow.”

Kimmel’s jest came just two days before a shooter targeted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night.

In a related moment, prior to the dinner, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt remarked that “there will be some shots fired tonight in the room,” referring to Trump’s forthcoming speech that evening.

Clooney hit back on Monday, per an account from Variety: ‘Jimmy’s a comedian, and I would argue that Karoline Leavitt didn’t mean shots should be fired. She was making a joke. Fair enough. You look at that side and go, “Well, jokes are jokes.” But the rhetoric is a little dangerous. And we’ve seen it a lot lately.’

Elsewhere in his speech, the legendary actor stated, ‘When one side is calling anyone they disagree with traitors to the country – which is a charge that’s punishable by death – just because they don’t agree with someone, I think the rhetoric is a little too heated.’

He argued that the over-the-top rhetoric ‘can be toned down.’

The silver screen star also referenced his 92-year-old father, Nick Clooney, who was a journalist.

‘My father’s rule when we were growing up was to challenge people with more power,’ he recalled.

‘That’s always been our mantra. That’s what my sister and I believed, and what my mother and father believed in. It’s served us well. It’s gotten us in trouble, and that’s a good thing.’

The father of two went on to advocate for a free and fair press.

He told the audience, ‘I always have faith in the press. I always believe in it. I’m the son of a journalist, you know?’

Clooney emphasized, ‘I also think that you’re not supposed to have a good relationship with government. You’re supposed to be questioning them. The people that I support, the Democrats – so, I’m a Democrat. I make no apologies for it.’

He continued, ‘The people that I support – Bill Clinton, Barack Obama – they didn’t enjoy getting chased down by reporters. People in power don’t like to have to answer all the questions in the world. That’s fair. They shouldn’t enjoy it.

‘And the reporters should make sure that they hold people’s feet to the fire. That’s the rules. That’s what Jefferson talked about in 1787. We need to be able to have a free and fair press,’ he said.

Kyle Tucker’s Electrifying Walk-Off Lifts Dodgers to Victory Against Marlins in Unforgettable Showdown

0

Monday evening at Dodger Stadium appeared destined to fade into obscurity.

That was until the Dodgers staged a thrilling comeback in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Facing a two-run deficit against the Marlins, the Dodgers orchestrated an electrifying three-run rally. This surge was fueled by disciplined at-bats, a powerful hit from Shohei Ohtani, and the crucial performance of Kyle Tucker. Tucker delivered the game-winning moment with a two-run, two-out single to center field, catapulting the Dodgers to a dramatic 5-4 victory.

As the ninth inning began, the Dodgers seemed devoid of momentum.

After scoring through Teoscar Hernández’s two-run single in the first inning, they failed to capitalize further. Liam Hicks’ three-run homer off Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the fifth inning had erased their lead. The team had also left the bases loaded in the seventh and struggled with runners in scoring positions, going just 1-for-6. This performance mirrored the lackluster play that had plagued them throughout much of the previous week.

But then Andy Pages drew a leadoff walk against Marlins closer Pete Fairbanks. Dalton Rushing pinch-hit and did the same in the next at-bat.

And though Miguel Rojas failed to get down a sacrifice bunt, instead popping it up to the catcher for the first out of the inning, Ohtani made sure it didn’t matter — ripping a ground-rule double into right to score one run.

Three batters later, Tucker came to the plate with the bases loaded, after the Marlins intentionally walked Freddie Freeman, removed Fairbanks from the game with an injury, then got a strikeout of Will Smith from right-hander Tyler Phillips.

Phillips also got ahead of Tucker with a first-pitch strike, landing a splitter at the bottom of the zone.

But when he went there again, the team’s $240 million offseason signing was ready for it, slashing a line drive into center field for his biggest moment yet in what’s been a slow start to the year.

What it means

That, once again, the Dodgers (20-9) are never out of a game.

Between the second and sixth innings, the team had mustered just one hit. In that time, Yamamoto stumbled in a five-inning, four-run (three-earned) outing while lacking his typical stuff or command.

However, their superstar lineup means, as long as they’re within striking distance, they’re always capable of mounting a comeback.

That’s what happened in the ninth, with key walks and big swings giving the team its second walk-off win of the year.

Who’s hot

Hernández is not known for drawing walks. But improved plate discipline has helped him not only earn a string of free bases lately, but also snap out of what had been a couple-week-long slump.

Hernández started his night Monday with a key hit, driving in the game’s first two runs with his opposite-field single in the first inning. After that, he walked twice, marking only the second time this season he has done so.

Following a 14-game stretch from April 7-24 in which he batted .154, Hernández is now 3-for-8 the last three days with four walks and four RBIs, raising his season average to .245.

Who’s not

At the very least, Smith was back in the lineup Monday after missing a couple games with back tightness.

However, he continued a recent slump by not only going hitless in five at-bats, but twice leaving the bases loaded in the seventh (when he broke his bat on an inning-ending grounder and the ninth.

That left Smith in a 1-for-18 rut in his last five games, with a three-run homer last Friday representing his only reprieve. His batting average is down to .231 and his OPS is down to .696. Among the club’s regulars, only Tucker has a lower mark in that latter category.

Up next

Ohtani (2-0, 0.38 ERA) will take the mound Tuesday opposite Marlins right-hander Janson Junk (1-2, 3.67 ERA). However, manager Dave Roberts made it sound Monday as if Ohtani would likely only pitch in the game, and not also serve as designated hitter. That would be partially because Ohtani is pitching on just five days’ rest for the first time this year, and partially because Wednesday’s series finale the following day is an afternoon start.

MEMORISE: And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. – Exodus 33:15 (KJV)

READ: Mark 4:35-41 (KJV)

35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 1-2

Open Heaven 28 April 2026 MESSAGE

Years ago, I travelled to Abonnema in Rivers State, Nigeria, to hold a crusade. At that time, the only way one could get to Abonnema from Port Harcourt, the state capital, was by sea. Shortly before the crusade, we heard that a boat capsized on that sea and many people lost their lives. That news, however, did not deter me, as I had made up my mind to go for the crusade. I called a meeting with the workers at the RCCG National Headquarters in Ebute Metta and asked for volunteers to accompany me. One of the workers raised his hand and asked me, “Sir, can I be in your boat?” I told him that he could. Then he responded, “That will be good.” I asked him why he said so, and he replied that he knew that whatever boat I travelled in would not sink. He had so much confidence in a mere mortal like me because he knew that God is with me.

In today’s Bible reading, the disciples were travelling in a ship with Jesus. After a while, a terrible storm arose, but to their surprise, He remained fast asleep. In fear, they woke Him up, and He stilled the storm. After that, they arrived at their destination safely. This is a testament to the fact that it is a great blessing to have Jesus in the boat of your life!

Beloved, if you are a child of God, Jesus is in your boat as you journey through the waters of life. I know this because He said in Matthew 28:20 that He will be with you at all times. This is why, in the midst of life’s challenges, you must trust the One who is in the boat of your life because He alone has the power to make you victorious. If God is in the boat of your life, no weapon that is fashioned against you will prosper. If you involve Him in every step you take, you can rest assured that all your endeavours will turn out fine. If you have not yet given your life to Christ, surrender completely to Him today and acknowledge Him as the Controller of your life. When you do this, He will not only begin to direct your ways, but He will also walk with you every step of the way as you journey through life.

DCLM Daily Manna 28 April 2026 — Nothing Without God!

DCLM Daily Manna 28 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Nothing Without God!

TOPIC: Nothing Without God! (DCLM Daily Manna 28 April 2026)

KEY VERSE: O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps – Jeremiah 10:23

TEXT: Jeremiah 10:17-25 (KJV)

17 Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.

18 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.

19 Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous; but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.

20 My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.

21 For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

22 Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.

23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

24 O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

25 Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

The human nature has been wired in such a way that he cannot be independent of God. The very best of men is flawed and feeble in so many ways. The limitations and imperfections inherent in human thinking, perception, and decision-making make him to be so limited in so many ways. Man is a finite being with incomplete knowledge, biases, and emotional influences that cloud his judgment. Recognising this flawed human nature and reliance on God for guidance, is the secret to a more purposeful and fulfilling life.

In view of the calamity that was coming upon God’s people and Jerusalem, Prophet Jeremiah was humbled in prayer. He understood the insignificance of man in comparison to God. His was a submission and total acceptance of man’s incapacitation without God. It was with this understanding that he prayed in humility for divine intervention and help for the nation of Israel.

Humans are no masters of their own lives and are unable to control their destinies. The earlier man realises this, the best it would be for him. But unfortunately, we find many live their lives like though they do not need God. They plan, prospect and pursue their prime projects without any recourse to God. The commotions, conflicts, chaos, calamities and casualties we find everywhere today are bitter consequences of a world that fails to acknowledge God and tries to live and direct itself without His influence and guidance. Sadly too, there are Christians who are gradually pushing God out of their lives. They have become so crowded with their personal plans and pursuits that they no longer have time to wait on God in personal prayers and fellowship for leading and instructions for life.

If we do not want to wake up and find our lives and dreams, ambitions, homes, careers and ministries shattered in many irreparable pieces, we must acknowledge God’s ultimate control over our lives. We must depend on Him for direction and guidance with all humility rather than relying solely on our human wisdom and effort. We will not continue to go about in endless circles without making meaningful progress, nor meet with brick-walls in our attempt to move forward if we solely depend on God to lead and guide us always. Knowing that we are nothing without God will make us hold on tenaciously to Him to lead us through life.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The best of men is a failure without God!

Rhapsody Of Realities 28 April 2026: Called To Live The Divine Life

Rhapsody Of Realities 28 April 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): Called To Live The Divine Life

TOPIC: Called To Live The Divine Life (Rhapsody of Realities 28 April 2026)

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

I’ve often said that Christianity is not the imitation of Christ. There’s some imitation of Christ in Christianity, but Christianity itself is Christ in you, His life lived through you. We act like Him because His nature is in us. We walk like Him because His Spirit lives in us. We’re full of His glory, power, righteousness, and dominion because we have His life.

2 Corinthians 3:3 says, “Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.” The epistle of Christ means the Word of Christ. That means you’re His message to the world. You’re the Word made flesh; as He is, so are you.

Act out your divine life! The Bible says you’re the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). You’re more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). You’re blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). You’re complete in Him (Colossians 2:10). Your origin is divine; you hail from Him: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

Live with this consciousness every day. Christianity is a life of glory, power and fellowship with the Spirit. God talks to you; His Word inspires faith, confidence, love, patience, and courage in you. Today, for you, is an opportunity to express Christ, to manifest the realities of the Kingdom.

Refuse to see yourself from a natural standpoint; you’re an associate of the God-kind, a partaker of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). You’re not a human being but a God-being. It helps you understand why the Psalmist declared in prophecy, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the Most High” (Psalm 82:6).

The Lord Jesus reiterated the same truth in John 10:34-35. You’ve been brought into life and immortality and called to glory and excellence. This is your life; it’s the divine life! Blessed be God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for calling me to a life of glory, excellence and power. Christ is alive in me—His wisdom, strength and righteousness are fully expressed through me. I refuse to see myself from a natural perspective; I live the divine life, manifesting your life and glory to my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: [4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

John 10:34-35 (KJV) Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? [35] If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

1 John 4:4 (KJV) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Unveiling the Truth: Are Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively Facing Marital Struggles?

Is there trouble brewing for Hollywood’s favorite couple? Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have long been admired as the seemingly perfect duo in Tinseltown, despite their controversial plantation wedding. However, their idyllic image took a hit in December 2024 when Blake Lively accused her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, of sexual harassment and attempting to tarnish her reputation, as reported by the BBC.

In response, Baldoni launched a countersuit in January 2025, targeting both Lively and Reynolds with allegations of defamation and extortion, demanding a staggering $400 million in damages. This legal battle has placed the couple under intense public scrutiny, fueling rumors of a rift between Lively and her close friend Taylor Swift. Speculation is rife that the ongoing drama may even be straining their previously solid marriage.

By April 2026, whispers of marital discord surfaced, with an anonymous source revealing to the Daily Mail that the couple’s relationship dynamic had changed. The insider described them as less “playful,” adding, “It’s like a light has dimmed.” The source noted that their once lively social gatherings have dwindled, saying, “I think it’s just too much for her. They seem preoccupied, and it’s all about the case. It’s stressful.”

When Reynolds and Lively do venture out, their public appearances have been met with mixed reactions. Their awkward moments at the “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary and a PDA-laden appearance at a Wrexham soccer game were particularly notable. According to TMZ, some attendees at the “SNL” event were puzzled by their presence, with one source claiming that they became the evening’s hot topic, as others avoided engaging with them.

A source claims Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively aren’t ‘as playful as they used to be’

Before the Justin Baldoni controversy, Reynolds and Lively were known for their strong partnership, often alternating work schedules to ensure one parent was always with their four children. “We operate as a unit, and that works really well for us,” Reynolds told People in 2019. However, the legal case appears to have created tension between the two, with Reynolds reportedly eager to resolve the situation. According to a source who spoke to gossip columnist Rob Shuter on his Substack in April 2026, “Ryan is fully supportive publicly. But privately? He wants this settled. He doesn’t want to be dragged through court.”

Sadly, when the celebrity couple does go out, they don’t exactly get a warm welcome. Consider Reynolds and Lively’s awkward and messy “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary appearance or their incredibly try-hard, PDA-filled Wrexham soccer game outing. Likewise, TMZ reported that three separate sources claimed other A-listers were “confused” by the couple’s attendance at the “SNL” event in the first place. One even went so far as to say that Reynolds and Lively “were the talk of the entire evening,” and that many people actively dodged having to engage with them.

Ryan Reynolds is reportedly furiously trying to save his own career

Prior to the whole Justin Baldoni fiasco, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were a team, even taking turns traveling for work so one of them was always with their four children. “We operate as a unit, and that works really well for us,” the “Deadpool” star proudly told People in 2019. Sadly, it’s been widely suggested that all of the legal drama has pitted the husband and wife against each other, and left Reynolds furiously trying to save himself and his own career. “Ryan is fully supportive publicly. But privately? He wants this settled. This is pulling him in — and he knows it. He doesn’t want to be dragged through court,” a source told celebrity gossip columnist Rob Shuter for his Substack in April 2026.

The insider elaborated, “He’s worried this is going to destroy him too. His brand, his reputation — everything.” It should be noted, however, that later that very same month, the “Green Lantern” star painted a very different picture when he gushed about his wife during an appearance on the “Today” show. “Without getting into too much, I have never in my life been more proud of my wife,” Reynolds declared (via YouTube). “People have no idea what is really going on. I’ve never been more proud of someone in my life, with that level of integrity that they bring with them in everything they do.”

Do Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have money problems?

Unfortunately for the celebrity couple, another source divulged to the Daily Mail that the fallout surrounding Blake Lively’s high-profile legal case has been bad for both her career and husband Ryan Reynolds’ and, in turn, their bottom lines, which naturally only heightens the stress in their marriage. “Blake isn’t getting the offers and there hasn’t been anywhere near the same interest in her since the Baldoni drama exploded. She’s burned bridges and most people in the industry seem to be steering clear,” the source claimed.

According to a filing obtained by People in November 2025, the “Gossip Girl” alum was seeking over $160 million in damages. “The effects on Ms. Lively’s professional life were immediate and substantial,” it read in part (via Variety). “Given the ongoing nature of the campaign and the associated negative public sentiment, Ms. Lively did not believe she could proceed with public appearances or events without being forced to openly discuss what happened on set.” As a result, the A-listers may be struggling financially.

UK Immigration Policy Tightening Leads to Decrease in Marital Conflicts, Says Nigerian Expat

A Nigerian woman residing in the United Kingdom has sparked widespread discussion online after expressing her thoughts on the dynamics of relationships among Nigerian couples living overseas.

In a video that quickly gained traction, she proposed that more stringent immigration regulations, especially those impacting couples, have contributed to a decline in public altercations between partners.

She observed that women who used to be vocal about challenges such as infidelity and marital disputes are now more inclined to stay in their marriages despite these issues.

She remarked…

She said …

“Since UK government said, divorce your husband and we send you back to your country, even asylum we no go give you. You’re going back you and your partner. Everything done calm down small. At least now when you go online you won’t see anybody f!ghting anybody.

Our women living in the UK with their husbands, wetin happen? Una husbands don suddenly turn to good people? No more f!ghts and ch£ating again? The law don reset everybody brain. So all of a sudden now you people can suddenly stay in the marriage in the UK. Why are you people no longer throwing your husbands out?”
