A flight attendant from American Airlines, based in Dallas, has disappeared under mysterious circumstances during a layover in Medellín, Colombia, sparking a swift investigation by local law enforcement.

Eric Fernando Gutierrez Molina, a 32-year-old U.S. citizen, was last seen in the early hours of Sunday in Medellín’s La América neighborhood. He had arrived there for an overnight stop on his way to Miami, as reported by FOX 4 Dallas and the New York Post.

According to Sharom Gil, a friend of Gutierrez Molina, he might have received an invitation to a party and was subsequently taken to a medical facility, as shared with local news outlet Telemedellín.

Before his disappearance, Gutierrez Molina reportedly sent his location from an Airbnb near José María Córdova International Airport. His unexpected absence led friends and colleagues to alert authorities by filing missing person reports.

Gutierrez Molina went missing shortly after arriving in Colombia on Saturday, March 21, raising concerns and drawing attention to his case.

Alejandro Murcia, an elected representative for Colombians abroad, posted a heartbreaking call for help on social media following Gutierrez Molina’s disappearance.

“Eric Fernando Gutiérrez Molina, a U.S. citizen and flight attendant for @AmericanAir, is missing in Medellín,” Murcia wrote in an X post. “Let’s help spread this post to find him. His family is desperate.”

Murcia also tagged the official X account of the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia, which has not yet commented on the disappearance.

It is unclear if foul play was involved.

American Airlines told Fox News Digital it is “actively engaged with local law enforcement officials in their investigation and doing all we can to support our team member’s family during this time.”

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants confirmed to FOX 4 it is also working with local authorities and supporting the family.

A former Russian MMA fighter, driven by jealousy, was sentenced to four years in prison on Friday for assaulting his ex-girlfriend during a FaceTime call with Barron Trump in January 2025.

Matvei Rumiantsev, 23, was found guilty of assault earlier in the year. A London judge described him as “prone to jealousy” and “completely unrepentant,” criticizing his refusal to take responsibility for his actions.

The sentence includes two years for the assault and an additional two years for attempting to pervert the course of justice. These terms will be served consecutively. Moreover, the judge indicated that Rumiantsev might face deportation from the UK due to the severity of his crimes.

He was acquitted of related charges of rape and strangulation that were alleged to have occurred on the same day as the assault.

The attack unfolded in a fit of drunken anger at Rumiantsev’s East London residence on January 18, 2025, after he noticed an incoming call from Barron Trump, then 20 years old, on his ex-girlfriend’s phone. This incident occurred just two days before Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States.

The woman, who was not identified for legal reasons, and Barron had been speaking after meeting on social media and Rumiantsev claimed she had called the younger Trump her “sweetheart.”

Rumiantsev grabbed the woman’s hair, choked her, called her a “s–t and w—e,” and kicked her in the stomach, the victim told Snaresbrook Crown Court, adding that she feared for her life and paid tribute to the president’s son.

“He helped save my life,” she said. “That call was like a sign from God at that moment.”

Barron called London cops after witnessing the woman sobbing on video and later sent over an emailed statement recounting what he saw.

“The individual who picked up the phone was a shirtless man with darkish hair, although I didn’t get a good look, this view lasted maybe one second and I was racing with adrenaline,” the first son’s message read.

“The camera was then flipped to the victim getting hit while crying, stating something in Russian. The guy had hung up. This whole interaction had lasted 5 to 7 seconds.”

Prosecutors said Rumiantsev had wanted to show his dominance over the victim while Barron Trump was on the call..

While behind bars, Rumiantsev wrote a letter to the victim, desperately trying to get her to withdraw the allegations.

Shares of the two companies are down sharply over recent months, with Alphabet 16 percent below its most recent high and Meta down nearly 30 percent since its most recent high.

The companies’ AI woes are well known, but now they have weight from a storm of litigation to contend with as well.

Gardner said that the California ruling was ‘social media’s Big Tobacco moment,’ when the harm the companies cause children was ‘proven in a court of law.’

In the case, a 20-year old Los Angeles woman said she became addicted to Instagram and YouTube as early as age six.

Social media companies have long been shielded from most legal threats by laws that make them immune to legal challenges regarding the content posted by users, but this case targeted site features rather than content.

The plaintiff claimed that social media features like push alerts and infinite scrolling dominated her childhood, leading to compulsive use, anxiety, body dysmorphia, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.

In their verdict, the jury wrote that both companies had acted with ‘malice, oppression or fraud.’

After a two-month hiatus following the unsettling disappearance of her 84-year-old mother, Savannah Guthrie is set to make her return to NBC’s “Today” show next month. In an interview that aired on Friday, Guthrie expressed her determination to find happiness despite the circumstances, declaring, “joy will be my protest.”

Hoda Kotb, Guthrie’s former co-host, revealed that Guthrie will be back on the show on April 6. Reflecting on her upcoming return, Guthrie admitted it’s challenging to envision stepping back into a role filled with joy and lightness. Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1. Authorities suspect she was kidnapped or taken against her will. The FBI has released surveillance footage showing a masked individual near Guthrie’s home in Tucson on the night of her disappearance. The Guthrie family is offering a $1 million reward for any information leading to her recovery.

During another segment of the interview with Kotb on Thursday, Guthrie revealed that she and her siblings were certain their mother’s disappearance wasn’t a simple case of wandering off. Given the pain their mother was enduring, coupled with suspicious findings such as open doors, blood on the doorstep, and a tampered camera, they realized something was amiss. Guthrie’s brother immediately suspected their mother had been kidnapped for ransom.

The longtime “Today” show co-anchor said they don’t know that their mother was taken because of her, but acknowledged that it would make sense and that was “too much to bear.” While she said some of the purported ransom notes were fake, Guthrie said she believed the two that she and her siblings responded to were real. But the circumstances were surreal.
