Possible Boat Explosion at Florida Tourist Hotspot Leaves Nearly a Dozen Injured

0

On Saturday, nearly a dozen individuals were injured following a potential boat explosion at the Haulover Sandbar, a well-known tourist hotspot in North Miami Beach, Florida.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, 11 people were transported to the hospital for medical care. However, the exact number of those affected by the incident has yet to be disclosed.

As of 5 p.m., the conditions of the injured individuals remain unknown.

Fire officials responded swiftly, deploying over 25 units to the location shortly after 12:55 p.m. local time. The response included Fireboat 21, Ocean Rescue teams, and collaboration with partner agencies such as the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Officials have not yet confirmed if the incident involved an explosion.

“As we’re in the midst of boating season, we want to remind our community to always prioritize safety while out on the water,” fire officials told Fox News Digital. “Make sure your vessel is equipped with a working fire extinguisher and all required safety equipment. Before departure, perform a thorough safety check to ensure your boat is in good working condition and free of potential hazards.

Jonathan “Foodgod” Cheban Responds to Speculation on Rift with Kim Kardashian

Jonathan Cheban, better known by his moniker Foodgod, is still very much part of the Kardashian circle.

The reality television personality recently addressed speculation about his relationship with Kim Kardashian and her famous family, reaffirming that their friendship remains strong.

During an interview with E! News at Vulture’s inaugural Reality Masterminds Celebration in New York City on May 7, Jonathan clarified his connection with the Kardashians. “I don’t really engage in the group chats,” he admitted, “but I spoke to Kim just two days ago.”

Cheban, 53, noted that both he and Kim lead hectic lives filled with travel, which can make regular meet-ups challenging. This is particularly true for Kim, who juggles her career with being a mom to four children—North, 12; Saint, 10; Chicago, 8; and Psalm, 7—whom she co-parents with her ex-husband Kanye West.

“She told me, ‘I’m back in LA,'” Jonathan recounted. “And I replied, ‘We just arrived in New York.’ She then mentioned, ‘I went to LA for North and came right back.'”

“We speak all the time. I really don’t get to see them as much,” he continued, “because I live in Miami and New York. They live in LA and then she goes to Paris. It’s all those kids!”

Jets’ Cade Klubnik Ready to Tackle Adversity After Eventful 2025 Journey

0

As the 2025 college football season kicked off, many draft analysts envisioned Clemson’s quarterback, Cade Klubnik, as a likely first-round choice for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Contrary to these expectations, Klubnik was selected by the Jets in the fourth round—a position some experts felt was generous, given that he was considered only the eighth or ninth best quarterback available in this draft class.

Klubnik’s draft prospects took a nosedive following a disappointing senior year with the Tigers. His touchdown tally dropped markedly from 36 in 2024 to a mere 16 last season. Despite being a favored contender for the national championship, Clemson faltered early, losing three of their first four games and five out of the first eight.

Throughout the season, Klubnik struggled with a severe ankle injury that left him unable to climb stairs, forcing him to rely on elevators to attend team meetings.

Despite the setbacks of the past year, Klubnik remains positive, expressing gratitude rather than resentment over his recent experiences.

“For me, I think I really learned how to truly face adversity and just attack it,” Klubnik said. “I think because of that I’m really thankful. If I would have gone and had the exact year that I dreamed [of] and worked for I don’t think I’d be as prepared as I am now because I learned really how to face that adversity and get up every single day even though that end goal that I was chasing isn’t really there anymore. It’s tough. It was really hard to go through, but I’m really thankful that it happened.”

Klubnik has been back on the field over the past two days in his new Jets uniform. He took part in the team’s rookie minicamp on Friday and Saturday, wearing No. 10. He had an impressive day on Saturday both throwing the ball and speaking to the media afterward.

His passes were precise and his words were thoughtful. Klubnik oozes leadership and poise and you can see why the Jets fell in love with him during the predraft process.

The team traded up to get him in the fourth round, despite the predraft belief he would be taken much later.

“He’s a really smart man,” Jets coach Aaron Glenn said. “We’re going to push the envelope with that player and see exactly where he’s at and how he’s going to be able to operate with our offense. Obviously, you’re going to see him a lot in the preseason and things like that. Again, he was a guy we targeted, we’re happy that we got him, and look forward to seeing him come training camp.”

Klubnik is familiar with pressure and expectations. He was a star at Westlake High School in Texas, breaking Drew Brees’ school records. He became the No. 1 recruit in the country and went to Clemson with everyone expecting him to be the next great Tigers quarterback. He had some great moments at Clemson and took them to the College Football Playoffs as a junior but it felt like he never lived up to the lofty billing he had coming out of high school.

Last year things cratered, but Klubnik learned resilience as the team ended up winning four straight to earn a Pinstripe Bowl trip.

“I think that in my mind, I’m a winner,” Klubnik said. “I don’t mean that in a boastful way. I think that that’s the mentality that you have to have as a quarterback. I think that my résumé has kind of showed that as well. But this past year, we didn’t win as much. We started the year 3-5 at Clemson. It’s a tough place to be. It’s a really tough place to be. With my senior year and 19 starters coming back and huge aspirations and dreams that we had as a team and we didn’t really fulfill those.

“I battled two major injuries throughout the year, sitting there at 3-5 and all of our dreams and goals out the window and kind of had to look in the mirror and look at my teammate and say this is bigger than us. This is going to be special. Then to be able to turn that thing around and going to win four straight at the end of the year.”

Pushup Benchmark: Test Your Fitness Level at 55 and Beyond

Have you ever wondered what the number of push-ups you can perform says about your fitness level, especially after the age of 55?

While the term “being in shape” is frequently used, it’s not defined by a single metric or test. Fitness reflects in how you move, recover, and manage physical exertion on a daily basis. You notice it when you complete a workout with energy to spare, when your joints function smoothly, and when everyday movements feel effortless.

However, certain indicators provide a reliable gauge of your fitness status. Strength, endurance, and control are key components. Typically, a few strategic exercises can offer a clearer insight, particularly those involving your body weight.

This is where push-ups come into play. As a relative strength exercise, push-ups involve using your body weight rather than external weights. This is significant because it links your strength to your size, control, and ability to synchronize movements. Successfully performing multiple push-ups generally suggests good overall fitness.

That’s where push-ups come in. They’re a relative strength movement, which means you’re working with your own body instead of an external load. That matters because it ties your strength directly to your size, your control, and your ability to coordinate everything at once. If you can move your body well through repeated reps, it usually indicates being in good overall shape.

Why Push-Ups Reflect Overall Fitness

Push-ups give you a lot of information in a short amount of time. Your chest, shoulders, and triceps drive the movement, but your core has to stay engaged so your body moves as one piece. If any part of that chain drops off, you feel it right away. That makes it a reliable way to gauge how well your body works together.

They also bring endurance into the mix. A single rep shows strength. Repeating that effort shows how long you can hold onto it. Your breathing settles into a rhythm, your muscles keep producing, and your form stays consistent as the set builds. That combination of strength and staying power is what people usually mean when they say someone is “in shape.”

Push-ups also highlight relative strength. You’re not just moving weight. You’re moving yourself. That connection matters, especially as you get older. Being able to control your body through space carries over into daily movement, whether that’s getting up off the floor, catching yourself, or handling physical tasks without hesitation.

How to Perform Push-Ups With Consistent Form

The setup determines how effective each rep is. When your position stays consistent, your reps reflect your actual strength.

How to Do It:

  1. Place your hands on the floor slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
  2. Extend your legs behind you so your body forms a straight line.
  3. Brace your core and squeeze your glutes to hold that position.
  4. Lower your chest toward the floor under control.
  5. Press through your hands to return to the starting position.
  6. Repeat each rep at a steady pace.

A quick note on the movement standard. Lower until your elbows reach at least 90 degrees while keeping your body in a straight line. If you’re working toward that depth, use an incline or another modification to stay consistent.

Best Variations: Incline Push-Ups, Tempo Push-Ups, Decline Push-Ups, Close-Grip Push-Ups, Pause Push-Ups.

Push-Up Benchmarks After 55

Your number matters most when each rep looks the same: full range, steady control, and consistent pace.

  • Under 8 reps: You’re building your base. Each set adds strength and helps dial in your positioning.
  • 8 to 15 reps: This is a solid range. Your upper body supports repeated effort and stays controlled.
  • 15 to 25 reps: You’re in good shape. Your strength and endurance work together to keep your reps consistent.
  • 25+ reps: This is excellent. Your upper body keeps producing, your core stays engaged, and your movement stays smooth.

How to Build Push-Up Strength That Carries Over

Building push-up strength comes down to developing control that you can repeat. This is where most of the progress happens. It’s not about one big set. It’s about stacking quality reps over time and letting your strength build in a way that sticks. When your body learns to stay tight, move smoothly, and keep producing effort, your numbers follow.

Push-ups also tend to improve quickly when the right pieces are in place. Strength in the chest and shoulders matters, but so does how well your core supports the movement. When everything works together, each rep becomes more efficient, and longer sets start to feel more manageable.

  • Practice push-ups regularly: A few focused sets a couple times per week build steady progress.
  • Focus on full-body tension: Keep your core and glutes engaged so your body moves as one piece.
  • Train through a full range of motion: Working toward that 90-degree elbow position builds strength where it counts.
  • Use modifications when needed: Incline push-ups help you stay consistent while building strength.
  • Build supporting strength: Rows, presses, and carries round out upper-body development.
  • Use shorter, controlled sets: Multiple quality sets build toward longer efforts.
  • Control your tempo: Slowing things down builds strength and better movement.
  • Stay consistent over time: Progress comes from repeated exposure and steady effort.

If you can move through 15 to 25 clean push-ups after 55, you’re in a strong place. That level of relative strength shows up in how you move, how you support yourself, and how your body handles everyday demands.

Influencer Sparks Outrage by Labeling Laid-Off Spirit Airlines Employee as ‘Lazy’ – Fans React

0

Influencer James Charles has stirred controversy following a contentious TikTok rant aimed at a woman who claims she was laid off from Spirit Airlines.

The airline ceased all operations last week, resulting in the unemployment of 17,000 staff members.

Among those affected was a woman who reportedly reached out to Charles with a GoFundMe link, seeking financial assistance after losing her job.

Valued at approximately $22 million, the beauty mogul responded with a now-deleted video on his social media, where he harshly criticized the woman, labeling her as a ‘lazy piece of s***’ and ridiculing her plea for support.

In a mocking manner, he recited her message: ‘I just received a DM from a girl saying, “Good morning, James. I know you’ll probably never see this, but if you could just take one minute to read it, it would really mean a lot to me. I’m really struggling right now because Spirit Airlines just filed for bankruptcy and I have lost my job. Here’s a GoFundMe link. Any donations help.”’

Charles didn’t hold back, offering what many saw as biting advice.

‘I’m sure they do, sweetheart. I’m sure they do. You know what else would help you? Getting another job. Yeah, try that. Because in the time that it took you to copy and paste the same f*** ass message to myself, who you don’t follow, by the way, and probably a hundred other influencers and celebrities, you could’ve applied for a hundred other jobs.

‘But you didn’t, ‘cause you’re a lazy piece of s***, and you’re entitled, and you think that influencers and celebrities should fund your life for you. Why would I ever help you?’

A major sticking point seemed to be that the woman didn’t follow him.

‘You’re not a fan, you don’t even follow me, you’ve never supported me, this is your first time DMing. And you think that I’m gonna send you money because you lost your job?!

‘Oh my God, welcome to the real world, sweetheart. People lose their jobs every f***** day.

‘And you’re white, pretty, and able-bodied; you’re in a much better position than a lot of other people out here who are trying clearly much harder to make a better life for themselves. Why would I f**** help you?!

‘I’m not f****** helping you. All you did was lost your job. Welcome to the real world. I could at least understand if you were like, “James, I’m a longtime fan, here’s a trillion years of DMs and my support for you, I love you. I’m suffering with a really rare genetic disease that there’s no cure for, and I’m trying to raise money for myself and other people that have this.” Maybe I would help.

‘This bitch, you lost your f****** job? Ugh! What are we gonna do? Nothing! I’m gonna do nothing, you know what you need to do? Go find a f****** new one girl! Put some effort into the workplace! Ugh!’

'But you didn¿t, ¿cause you¿re a lazy piece of s***, and you¿re entitled, and you think that influencers and celebrities should fund your life for you. Why would I ever help you?¿

The video has since been removed, but screen-recordings are circulating online, sparking widespread backlash from fans who have slammed Charles for his harsh response, calling him ‘entitled’, ‘elitist’ and ‘out of touch’.

Charles returned on Saturday with an apology video following the backlash.

‘This video was f****** stupid,’ he began. ‘It was rude, it was obnoxious, it was privileged, and most importantly, it was completely f****** unnecessary.’

The beauty influencer admitted he could have simply ignored the message, but instead chose to publicly bash the woman.

‘It was obnoxious, and I shamed her for asking for help in a situation where she was clearly really struggling, and this could have been her absolute last resort,’ he said.

‘I feel awful because that wasn’t my intention,’ he continued, ‘and I really hurt a lot of people… I’m super sorry, especially to the woman from Spirit Airlines.’

Desperate Search for Missing 26-Year-Old in Grand Canyon: Family Pleads for Help

The family of a missing Arizona State University student, who disappeared just a week shy of completing his master’s degree, is appealing for assistance. They are eager to connect with the individual who discovered his backpack at the Grand Canyon.

According to Fox News, 26-year-old Sandrash Krishna informed his relatives on April 27 that he intended to visit the Grand Canyon’s South Rim en route to Las Vegas. He planned to return in time for his final exams and graduation ceremony on May 9.

Unfortunately, Krishna has not been seen or heard from since, leaving his family in a heart-wrenching search for answers.

In their quest for information, Krishna’s family has repeatedly visited the South Rim over the past week. They are guided by cellphone tower data indicating Krishna’s last recorded location was between the Bright Angel Lodge and Mohave Point on the day he vanished.

A Brother’s Hope

Since that day, his phone has remained stationary, prompting his family to search the area extensively, as his sister-in-law, Pooja Shivananjappa, shared with AZFamily. They have combed the region two to three times in hopes of finding him.

‘We obviously don’t want to give up, so we have taken our binoculars, we have walked the trail, we have done our own research.’

The family has even hired their own private investigator to help find Krishna, as his brother, Adarsh Krishna, said they ‘don’t want to believe he’s hurt’ and still have hope ‘that he’s somewhere out there.

‘But again, we need proper closure. We don’t know exactly what happened to him,’ Adarsh told KPNX, adding that his brother is ‘not the kind of kid who would hurt himself.’

Krishna had moved to Arizona from India in 2024 to pursue a master’s degree in computer science at Arizona State University.

His loved ones describe him as bright, kind and deeply family-oriented.

‘He has a helping hand,’ Shivananjappa said. ‘As I said, he has the heart of a kid, and we terribly miss him.’

A Vital Lead

Family members and park officials are now looking to speak with a good Samaritan who brought Krishna’s backpack to the Bright Angel Lodge lost and found at around 7am on April 27.

The man did not leave his name or indicate where he found the backpack, but authorities stress they do not believe he is a suspect in Krishna’s disappearance.

Authorities are instead looking to speak with him to get more details about where and how he found the backpack, in hopes that he could provide them with more details about what led up to Krishna’s disappearance.

‘This is the whole reason why we are calling, and we are reaching out to everybody to find the person who returned the backpack,’ Shivananjappa said.

‘This is a main piece of evidence as of now. If we can get to know the exact location of the backpack, we can focus on searching that specific area.’

In the meantime, search efforts have ramped up across the South Rim, with more than 30 search and rescue personnel deployed over the past several days.

Technical Infiltration

Crews are using a myriad of techniques to try to find Krishna, including trail scanning, walk-down routes into the canyon, technical rope insertions, aerial reconnaissance flights and drone operations, park officials have said.

Rangers are specifically focusing on an area along Hermit Road.

Krishna was last seen wearing black pants, a white hoodie and black and white Jordans.

He is described as 5-foot-10-inches with a thin build, weighing approximately 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He may have been using a rideshare or taxi service at the time of his disappearance.

Anyone with information about Krishna’s whereabouts or information about the good Samaritan who turned in his backpack is asked to call the tip line at (888) 653 – 0009.

Distracted Driving Incident in Upstate NY Leaves Children Injured After School Bus Collision

0

An alarming incident unfolded in upstate New York when a high school junior faced a harrowing situation on what seemed like a routine morning. A runaway truck careened toward 17-year-old Jeremiah Rutkowski as he stood ready to board his school bus, ultimately colliding with the back of the stopped vehicle.

On that fateful morning of April 7, around 7:15 a.m., Jeremiah had just stepped out of his front door in Madison, preparing for the school day, when the heart-stopping crash occurred just a few feet away. According to WKTV, the terrifying sequence of events left the young student with split-second decisions to make.

“I just figured if that thing’s not going to stop, it’s either going to hit the bus and something’s coming flying at me — or the entire truck is coming flying at me,” Jeremiah recalled, describing the moment when he realized the impending danger.

Using his instincts, Jeremiah quickly jumped backward, narrowly avoiding the chaos that erupted on his front lawn. The impact propelled the bus down the street, creating a scene of confusion and urgency.

In the aftermath, Jeremiah dashed back to the safety of his porch, where he was met by his father, Matt Rutkowski. Alarmed by the commotion, Matt had rushed outside, his concern for his son palpable.

Before taking in the full scene of destruction, the two shared an emotional embrace.

“My first priority was to make sure my son was safe and good,” Matt Rutkowski said. “Opening that door, I wasn’t sure what would happen, so big sigh of relief. That’s why I instantly gave him a hug.”

Once dad realized the driver was alert and the kids were beginning to evacuate the bus, he ran inside to call 911.

Jeremiah Rutkowski, meanwhile, stood frozen.

“I was sort of just paralyzed with shock,” he recalled.

But the moment the first student stepped off the bus, the teen’s instincts kicked in. A counselor at nearby Camp Lookout, he immediately shifted from stunned bystander to calm helper.

“My counselor brain just sort of kicked in, and I automatically just … like, I was fully focused on how everybody felt about the situation,” he said.

There were 23 students on the bus headed to Madison Central School at the time of the crash, which investigators say happened while the bus was stopped with its warning lights activated.

The crash involved 35-year-old Joshua Smith, who was distracted by his cell phone and following the bus too closely, and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and issued several traffic tickets, the state police said.

Four children and two adults were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, according to State Police, including Smith, the bus driver, two kids in the pickup and two kids from the bus.

For Matt Rutkowski, the terrifyingly close call was a powerful reminder of how quickly life can change.

“Thing like this make you appreciate what you have,” he said, “and how at any moment things can change.”

British Expat Lives Dream Life on Luxury Cruise for Under £100-a-Day After Selling Home

0

Imagine a life where laundry and meal planning are distant memories. For those seeking such freedom, embracing life aboard a luxury cruise liner might just be the perfect fit.

Fraser Allen, a British expatriate, has wholeheartedly adopted this unique way of living. Since December 2024, Allen has called the Odyssey, a ship operated by Villa Vie Residences, his home. Over the past months, he has spent considerable time aboard, immersing himself in this carefree lifestyle.

At 58, Allen is currently in the midst of a three-year lease agreement with the cruise liner. His home on the high seas has already taken him on adventures across diverse regions, including South and North America, Japan, the Philippines, the South Pacific, Australia, and New Zealand.

For Allen, the allure of this lifestyle isn’t just about exploring the world. One of the most appealing aspects of living on a ship with 350 other residents is the sense of being entirely ‘taken care of.’ He emphasizes the convenience, saying, “Stereotypically, as a bachelor, having everything managed as part of the rental fees is fantastic,” he shared with the Daily Mail.

‘Stereotypically, as a bachelor, I would say that everything being “taken care of” within the rental fees is great,’ he tells the Daily Mail.

‘That includes: all food (plus wine and beer), laundry and cabin service, gym and fitness classes, sauna and steam room through to the pickle ball court and swimming pools!’

The only thing Allen is left to pay for is beer outside of meal times, but he insists that’s still ‘very reasonable’.

Everything from entertainment to food is supplied by the ship and he adds: ‘The cabins are spacious enough to want to retreat to. The outdoors/deck space is abundant enough to wander about or find a spot to peruse the horizon with your binoculars!’

Communal spaces like the pool don’t get too busy, he adds, saying there are ‘rarely’ ever ‘more than 10 to 15 residents poolside unlike other cruise lines’.

The all-inclusive lifestyle costs Allen $125 – less than £100 a day – for an inside cabin, which he notes is more affordable than an outside one with a window or balcony, although pricing levels have changed since he secured his deal.

His additional expenses, such as toothpaste, snacks, clothing and excursions tend to range between $1,000 to $2,000 (£734 to £1,470) per month.

Allen funds his cruising adventure with a saving pot as well as pensions and the rental income from his house which he is renting.

Originally from the UK, he moved to the Cayman Islands, the British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean, many years ago and worked as a scientist. He now has dual citizenship of the UK and Cayman Islands.

‘Prior to the voyage on the Odyssey, I downsized completely (a cathartic exercise!) and now have my place rented out in Cayman,’ he explains.

‘This provides additional monthly income to cover travelling expenses. Essentially, I have become nomadic for the next couple of years. I have a lot of time on my hands to figure out what to do at the end of the first circumnavigation onboard the Odyssey!’

Since moving from a spacious home to a small cruise cabin, Allen has found he really enjoys his cabin space and says he is a ‘minimalist’.

‘It’s more than sufficient for me,’ he says. ‘We also have anything that exists beyond the cabin as our ‘living room’, which has everything you need and more!’

Others don’t find the process as easy, however, and the experienced cruiser reveals, ‘Many folks on the ship (particularly Americans) have found the process of downsizing to be highly illuminating although some are still struggling to cut the umbilical cord as such.’

Allen has visited 146 different ports so far on the Odyssey, not including ‘the inland forays that this cruise affords by staying several days at a time in particular location, plus the Fjord and scenic cruising as a part of the sea days’.

He doesn’t have a favourite port in particular, he says, and instead values the experiences he’s picked up along the way, from cruising the Chilean Fjords to pulling into Vancouver on Canada Day.

Other memorable moments include anchoring in Moorea – a jaw-dropping heart-shaped island in French Polynesia.

There is one port that stands out as the worst for Allen – Rio.

‘Rio plus a few (only a few) other ports in Brazil weren’t a great experience,’ he reveals.

‘Security was an issue and several residents were mugged, ripped-off and/or made to feel uncomfortable. Apparently, this is the norm. Something the Brazilian Government needs to sort out for sure.’

Life at sea comes with some downsides too, although Allen admits they are rather trivial.

‘My worst-case scenario could be, or has been, that, I misread the next days’ itinerary,’ the former scientist explains.

‘Scrambling out of the bunk I end up clutching my life jacket, bleary-eyed at the required location. My t-shirt is inside out. I’m reprimanded for turning up late. That’s my worst-case scenario! How bad can it be?’

It’s the group activities, mixture of fast and slow-paced days, as well as the close bonds formed onboard that appeals to Allen the most.

‘When you minimise your “materialistic” environment your focus becomes more outward looking and less about “self”,’ he says.

‘You can become involved in community-based activities or simply enjoy the ever-changing scenery, cultures and nature that pass you by.’

The cruise fan feels passengers become more in touch with their ‘external environment’ in such situations.

He adds: ‘There is a combination of slow-paced sea days alongside extended port days which seems to suit everyone.’

In such a close environment, it’s perhaps unsurprising that everyone has formed close relationships too, and there is a ‘great connection’ with the crew and staff.

Not everything has been smooth-sailing however, and Fraser admits his least favourite port so far has been Rio, as well as some others in Brazil. Pictured in Ecuador

‘Everyone becomes ‘extended family’. Activities and interests are generated by the residents, alongside contracted staff. This makes for a very eclectic and diverse environment and the talent that exists on board the ship is really quite humbling,’ Allen says.

Allen plans to take a break from full-time cruising for six months soon and will be returning to the Cayman Islands during this time.

He plans to re-join the ship in November, when it will be in Singapore, and spend another 13 months onboard.

However, he isn’t keen to experience the two days of flights during his journey home, and having to navigate various airports.

‘I’m not looking forward to being herded through an airport or barked at by a TSA security Officer,’ Allen says.

‘Our seafaring alternative really is the way to see the world; very much hassle free!’
