A Georgia DoorDash driver was reportedly found dismembered inside a plastic storage tub, authorities said.

Kingston Bradley, 18, was arrested Thursday and charged with concealing a death. According to local independent outlet WANF, a witness allegedly saw Bradley dragging a plastic tub through the Park Valley Apartments in Smyrna, where he lives, on Wednesday. The witness reportedly spotted him drop the container before he fled the area.

WXIA reported that an arrest warrant identified the witness as Michelle Weaver, the aunt of 26-year-old Shanteria “Tia” Mosely. Mosely had left home Wednesday morning to work as a DoorDash driver, but later stopped responding to family messages. In an interview with WXIA, Weaver said relatives began searching for Mosely themselves, eventually arriving at the Park Valley Apartments.

Investigators searching Bradley’s apartment allegedly discovered blood evidence, including a saw with blood on it. Police also said the residence had a strong odor of bleach and contained a bucket, mop and bottle of carpet cleaner.

Bradley remains held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. WANF reported that he is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 7.

AFL WAG Emma Field Supports Lachie Neale at Grand Final

Emma Field proudly backed her partner, Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale, from the stands at the 2026 AFL Grand Final on Saturday.

The 29-year-old brunette was spotted at the match wearing a jacket emblazoned with Neale’s name and jersey number.

Field shared photos from the game on Instagram, including images of herself with friends Milly and Sophie Shepherd.

Beaming for a selfie with her friends, she later posted another image showing the back of her black jacket.

Field and Sophie were pictured raising their arms as they cheered on the 33-year-old midfielder, with “Neale 09” printed across the backs of their coats.

The show of support came only hours after Field braved heavy rain on Saturday morning ahead of Neale’s AFL Grand Final appearance.

Neale’s clash with Fremantle began at 2.30pm AEST after he successfully appealed a one-match suspension that had threatened to end his premiership hopes.

Before the decisive match, Field took on the role of supportive partner by heading out into Melbourne’s bleak weather to collect coffee and food.

The brunette wrapped herself in an oversized pink jumper, pulling its hood over her long hair as she ventured outside without an umbrella.

She was also seen chatting with someone on the phone during the outing.

Neale and Field appeared relaxed and happy on Friday as they enjoyed brunch in Melbourne, shortly after he overturned the one-match ban that had put his Grand Final place at risk.

With his spot in Saturday’s decider confirmed, the two-time Brownlow medallist laughed and talked with Field while taking a break from the Grand Final preparations.

The pair visited a nearby cafe and sat outside, where Neale ate a burger before they made their way back to the team hotel.

Along the way, Neale kissed Field on the head. They continued smiling and chatting before he paused to sign autographs for fans waiting nearby.

Their Melbourne outing came two days after they were photographed holding hands during a coffee date in Brisbane, when Neale’s Grand Final hopes remained uncertain.

Although that uncertainty had disappeared by Friday, controversy still surrounded Neale as he attended the Grand Final parade.

Fremantle supporters booed and heckled the Lions midfielder as he travelled through Melbourne’s sporting precinct with teammate Ty Gallop.

The jeers continued during his interview with Lions great Alastair Lynch, as Dockers fans outnumbered Brisbane supporters along the parade route.

Asked whether he had feared he was in trouble during the week, Neale gave a frank response.

‘Most of the week, really. You’re never really sure how these things are going to go. Very happy that it’s gone my way,’ he said.

Neale had initially been handed a one-match suspension for striking Hawthorn’s Jack Ginnivan during their preliminary final.

The tribunal upheld the penalty on Tuesday after a hearing lasting four-and-a-half hours, before Brisbane successfully appealed on Thursday.

Speaking on Friday, Neale credited those closest to him with helping him through the uncertainty.

‘I’ve been okay. I’ve got great people around me that keep things pretty normal, other than having to attend a couple of tribunal hearings. Just glad I’m able to play tomorrow,’ he told Fox Footy.

At one point, Field and her friend Sophie could be seen with their arms up in the air as they cheered Neale on, with 'Neale 09' printed across the back of their coats

Saturday’s clash with his former club could also be his Brisbane farewell, with Neale bound for Collingwood next year.

First, he has a third consecutive Lions premiership in his sights.

‘We’ve shown in previous finals, this year and in the last couple of years that we’re never out of it – and we truly believe it in every situation,’ Neale said.

‘We’ll draw on those experiences tomorrow for sure.’

Saudi Arabia Intercepts Another Houthi Missile, Mideast Updates

0

Saudi Arabia says it has intercepted another missile attributed to the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in neighboring Yemen. Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that President Masoud Pezeshkian had left New York following a high-profile week at the United Nations, where Iran also held indirect discussions with the United States.

Here is the latest news from across the Middle East. Additional coverage of the U.N. General Assembly is available here.

Saudi Arabia says missile launched by Houthis was intercepted

Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki, a spokesman for Saudi Arabia’s military, said early Saturday that the kingdom had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched from Yemen by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

According to al-Malki, the missile was headed toward Khamis Mushait in southwestern Saudi Arabia.

The Associated Press was unable to independently confirm the Saudi account. The Houthis had not immediately claimed responsibility, although the group sometimes takes several days to acknowledge an operation.

The Gulf Cooperation Council, which represents Arab Gulf nations, condemned the reported Houthi attacks as a “grave escalation and threat to regional security.” The organization called on the international community to take action.

Iranian media reports Pezeshkian has departed New York

Iran’s semiofficial news outlets said President Masoud Pezeshkian had left New York and was traveling back to Tehran after a busy week at the U.N. gathering, which brings together leaders from around the world.

In his address to the assembly, Pezeshkian rejected President Donald Trump’s latest threat to “annihilate” Iran but concluded by insisting that Tehran remains willing to pursue diplomacy. Iran also engaged in several hours of indirect talks with the United States.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told reporters Friday night that Tehran had delivered a proposal through mediators. Under the plan, Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume negotiations over its nuclear program within seven days if Washington lifted its naval blockade of Iranian ports, eased sanctions on Iranian oil exports and honored a ceasefire extending to Lebanon.

Israeli settlers take control of additional water sources in West Bank

Israeli settlers have stepped up efforts to take control of natural springs and heritage locations across the occupied West Bank. Those springs support drinking-water supplies, farming and tourism, yet they are becoming increasingly difficult for the 2.8 million Palestinians living in the territory to access.

In the Jordan Valley, settlers severed a water line serving a Palestinian village and diverted the flow to a pool named for Herod, the Roman-appointed king of Judea. Israeli rights organizations say the incident reflects a wider campaign to assert control over historic and cultural sites.

The dispute over water access underscores the broader struggle for control of the West Bank, where Palestinians have experienced water shortages since 1967.

Mahershala Ali Questions If He’s Giving Daughter Bari Enough

Mahershala Ali is speaking candidly about the emotional compromises of raising a child while building a demanding career.

In a new interview with GQ, the two-time Oscar winner discussed parenting his only child, 9-year-old daughter Bari, while working on projects that can keep him away from home for months.

“I do the best that I can,” Ali said. He hopes Bari will one day look back and think, “I had an amazing dad,” but acknowledged that he often questions whether he is getting everything right.

Ali and his wife, Amatus Sami-Karim, make an effort to remain together as a family whenever circumstances allow. Because Ali is working on the East Coast, Bari is spending a semester attending school there.

The arrangement was not possible during production of Jurassic World Rebirth, however. Filming kept Ali separated from his wife and daughter for roughly five months.

“That didn’t feel good,” he recalled. “It felt hard because we were on the other side of the world just missing each other.”

The time difference added another layer of difficulty. When Bari was starting her day, Ali was often preparing to sleep—and when he was awake, she was frequently in bed.

Even so, Ali believes his daughter recognizes how hard he is trying to remain present.

“I know she sees me trying and she gives me credit for that,” he said.

He became visibly emotional while remembering a moment when Bari wanted more time with him, but his work obligations came first.

“I remember saying, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry, I have to go to work.’ And she’s crying and she goes, ‘Oh, it’s not your fault.’”

The recollection moved Ali to tears.

“That’s the best I can say without getting too choked up,” he said, pausing to ask for a moment and a tissue.Embed from Getty Images

As Bari grows older, Ali said her increasing ability to put complex emotions into words has made those conversations especially powerful for him.

“Once they start getting older and they got that language to really say, ‘This is how I’m feeling,’” he explained, those words can “cut deep.”

Ali also reflected on his own upbringing and considered whether fatherhood has changed his understanding of his relationship with his dad.

His father worked in New York’s entertainment industry while Ali was raised on the West Coast, and Ali remembers wishing at times that his dad could have been closer.

“I think it has made me grateful for the iteration of fatherhood that perhaps my daughter is experiencing,” he said. “And even that I question, is it enough sometime, you know? And I’m trying to do the best that I can.”

Nor’easter Batters US East Coast, Threatening 40 Million People

0

A major nor’easter reached the East Coast Friday night, bringing dangerous coastal flooding and placing an estimated 40 million Americans in the storm’s path.

After sunset, the storm’s first major effects were already evident. Streets from New Jersey through Maryland turned into waterways, while powerful waves pounded the Rhode Island shoreline.

The fast-growing storm had already knocked out power for thousands of customers and forced the cancellation of hundreds of flights as it swept toward the coast.

Forecasters cautioned that the most severe weather and flooding could still lie ahead.

Officials declared a State of Emergency in New York City, parts of coastal New Jersey, Long Island and Westchester County as the strengthening nor’easter moved closer.

In Narragansett, Rhode Island, striking video captured floodwater spreading around Narragansett Pier as the shoreline took the storm’s full force.

The ocean spilled across the seawall and onto Ocean Drive, while waves battered Narragansett Town Beach and left its parking area underwater.

On New Jersey’s Long Beach Island, the Atlantic pushed inland, submerging residential roads beneath a growing blanket of seawater.

Images showed homes surrounded by floodwater and roads disappearing beneath the waves, with only mailboxes remaining visible above the rising surface.

At Surf City Bay Beach, strong gusts were already driving seawater onto the shore before the storm reached its peak intensity.

Video taken in Ocean City shortly before 10 p.m. Friday showed surging seawater spreading across roadways as flooding began to take hold in the resort town.

The hazardous weather also underscored the decision to call off the three-day Oceans Calling music festival as the nor’easter approached.

Although the storm is forecast to remain offshore over the weekend, its close passage along the coast is expected to bring damaging winds, towering waves and serious coastal flooding.

Millions of people across the region remain within the storm’s projected path.

The National Weather Service warned that portions of the Mid-Atlantic could face especially dangerous flooding, identifying New Jersey and Delaware among the areas at greatest risk.

In Manasquan, New Jersey, floodwater was already spilling onto streets as night fell Friday.

Officials earlier issued a voluntary evacuation for some of the community’s low-lying neighborhoods.

Mayor Mike Mangan warned residents to expect ‘a lot of water in the streets for a long time.’

Sea Bright, another vulnerable New Jersey beach community, was preparing for flooding that could leave some streets beneath as much as six feet of water.

Mayor Brian Kelly urged hundreds of residents in low-lying areas to consider getting out while they still could.

‘It’s going to be worse than average,’ Kelly warned. ‘We do have probably one or two flooding events a year, sometimes more, sometimes less, but I think this one will be closer to an Irene-scale flooding event.’

He was referring to Hurricane Irene, which caused devastating flooding across the Northeast in 2011.

‘I hope I’m wrong, but that’s my gut feeling,’ Kelly added.

The town planned to open its recreation center to residents forced from their homes.

Meanwhile, forecasters warned winds could become ferocious farther north.

North Carolina’s Outer Banks felt the brunt of a developing nor’easter

Peak gusts could reach between 60 and 65mph across Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket from Friday night into Saturday.

Boston could see gusts of 50 to 55mph, while inland communities could experience winds of 35 to 40mph.

Southeastern Connecticut and eastern Long Island could experience winds approaching similar speeds.

‘It’s definitely going to be a case of the closer to the coast you are, the more impacts from the storm you’re likely to see,’ NWS meteorologist Matthew Belk said.

One particular concern is the timing. Although nor’easters are a familiar threat as New England enters fall, many trees are still covered in leaves.

Those leaves create greater resistance against powerful winds, potentially making trees and branches more likely to come crashing down.

That in turn raises the threat of blocked roads and widespread power outages.

Travel was already descending into chaos. More than 200 flights involving airports in Boston, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and New York were canceled on Friday, with further cancellations already scheduled for Saturday.

Several airlines were allowing affected travelers to change or cancel certain East Coast flights without the usual fees.

Ferry travel was also being hammered by the deteriorating weather.

Public ferries connecting Cape Cod with Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard suffered widespread cancellations on Friday as strong winds churned the ocean.

Rhode Island ferries serving Block Island were also canceled, with disruption expected to continue on Saturday.

For island residents, getting stranded by brutal coastal weather is an occupational hazard.

‘It’s a nuisance, but you know, we know what to do with this kind of stuff at this point,’ said Sean Driscoll, a spokesman for the Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority. ‘This is not out of the realm of ordinary.’

The storm also tore through weekend entertainment and sporting schedules.

The Boston Red Sox rearranged their series against the Chicago Cubs, shifting Sunday’s afternoon game to Friday as part of a split doubleheader.

Ed Sheeran canceled high-profile Friday and Saturday concerts at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, because of the dangerous conditions.

Dan Aykroyd Reveals He and Bill Murray Stole Police Motorcycles for a ‘Ghostbusters’ Joyride in NYC

0

Who are you going to call? If Dan Aykroyd’s story is any indication, the answer might be the NYPD.

The “Ghostbusters” star says he and Bill Murray once borrowed two fully outfitted police motorcycles and turned New York’s Central Park into their own private racetrack.

The late-night escapade took place during production of “Ghostbusters II,” which was filmed in 1988 and 1989. Aykroyd said he and Murray “appropriated” the motorcycles from the film’s vehicle department before taking them for a ride through Manhattan.

Aykroyd recalled the misadventure Wednesday while marking Murray’s 76th birthday. Alongside two vintage photos of the pair, he wrote on Instagram, “So many adventures over the years.”

“One night shooting GB2, we appropriated two fully equipped police motorcycles from the movie’s motor pool and spent an hour chasing each other around a closed Central Park with full lights and sirens,” Aykroyd wrote.

According to Aykroyd, the unauthorized joyride never resulted in disciplinary action or legal trouble.

“No consequences. After all, we were Ghostbusters,” he joked.

The 74-year-old actor also used the tribute to honor Murray, calling him “the greatest comedy leading man of our time.”

Aykroyd and Murray first crossed paths in the 1970s, when both were establishing themselves in comedy.

Their careers later intersected at “Saturday Night Live.” Aykroyd was among the original cast members, while Murray joined the NBC sketch series in its second season.

The duo became best known for starring together in the original 1984 “Ghostbusters,” sharing the screen with Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.

All four original Ghostbusters returned for the 1989 sequel, “Ghostbusters II.”

Following Ramis’ death in 2014 at age 69, Aykroyd, Murray and Hudson appeared in the 2016 reboot. They later reprised their original roles in “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” in 2021 and “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” in 2024.

Hudson told Page Six exclusively in March that Murray still reaches out without warning.

“[Bill Murray] will call me out of the blue and invite me to something or other that I’m probably not able to do,” Hudson said.

He added, “I tell him, ‘You call me out of the blue. But when I call you, you never return my call!’”

Aykroyd, meanwhile, has become increasingly disenchanted with life in Hollywood and has spent more time in his native Canada in recent years.

During a 2023 conversation with Adam Carolla, Aykroyd said he drives “very carefully” in Los Angeles and remains indoors during what he jokingly calls “prison hours”—the late-night period he spends inside his gated community.

Milania Giudice’s Life Since May: A Timeline of Key Updates

0

Milania Giudice in an episode of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey'

Reality TV News

Milania Giudice has spent much of her life in the spotlight on Bravo. One earlier season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey even followed the family as she weighed her college options. Now 20, Milania has spent the past several years attending school in Florida, but recent months have brought a series of troubling headlines, including an arrest and reports of unusual behavior.

Milania Giudice grew up with Bravo cameras documenting her family’s life. A previous season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey centered in part on her decision about college. Although the 20-year-old has been living in Florida for school, the past few months have been difficult. Her arrest, reported erratic behavior, and concerns raised by fans about her mental health have kept her in the headlines. Here is a look at the events that have unfolded.

May 14: An arrest at the family home

The first major incident occurred in May, when Milania was arrested in Montville Township, New Jersey. Reports said police took her from the home of her mother and stepfather after a domestic dispute escalated. According to police reports, Milania allegedly threw food and candles around the property.

Her older sister, Gabriella Giudice, made the 911 call. Milania was charged with one count of assault. In body camera footage released later, she appeared to behave erratically, smiling and laughing as officers drove her away from the family home. After news of the arrest spread, Milania posted on social media and said she “ate down” in her mugshot. She later admitted that she had not been in a good place at the time of the incident.

July: Milania Giudice loses her best friend in a tragic accident

On July 14, Milania appeared remotely before Montville Township Municipal Court and pleaded not guilty. The judge read the allegation during the hearing, stating that she struck a person identified as “LR” in the head with her fist, leaving redness on the forehead. The legal case remains unresolved.

Milania faced another painful development in July. Following her court appearance, her longtime friend Victoria Zardoya died in an accidental fall at the Fort Dade Ruins. Victoria, a New Jersey native who had grown up on the same street as Milania, was visiting friends in Tampa when she died.

September 23: A mental health crisis makes headlines

Milania and her family honored Victoria in tributes shared in July, and public attention appeared to ease for a time. However, Bravo fans continued expressing concern after noticing what they described as erratic behavior in Milania’s social media posts. Those concerns intensified following another death in the Giudice family in early September and new reports of an incident involving Milania on September 23.

Reports said Milania was traveling through a Tampa-area airport with her mother, Teresa, her sister Gia, and a counselor when she left the group. Police were contacted to help find her. A dispatch log obtained by TMZ said Milania had recently been released from St. Anthony’s Hospital and that officers were informed she was experiencing a mental health crisis, including suicidal thoughts. Police located her a short time later in a parking lot.

Milania’s representative, Marina DeSantis, said she is surrounded by loved ones and receiving care from professionals supporting both her and her family. DeSantis attributed Milania’s struggles in part to the devastating loss of her best friend, Victoria, and said the family’s priority is her health, recovery, and overall well-being.

Joe Giudice also addressed the situation publicly. Speaking to Page Six, he said grief has no set timeline and emphasized that his main concern is ensuring his daughter knows she is loved and supported.

Two Suspects Arrested in Baffling NYC Sewer Mystery After People Seen Entering at Night

0

Mysterious sightings of people entering and emerging from New York City’s underground sewer network this summer have left residents wondering what was happening beneath the streets.

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. — Two men have been arrested in connection with the latest episode involving people moving through the city’s extensive sewer system, a case that has puzzled both investigators and New Yorkers.

Samuel Reveron, 25, and Kevin Rodriguez, 26, were each booked on two counts of trespassing, NBC News reported.

According to a criminal complaint, the men climbed out of a sewer around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in Manhattan. The manhole was located near the hotel where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was expected to stay while attending the U.N. General Assembly.

The two men “identified themselves as the individuals that entered the manhole,” according to the court document. They told authorities they had gone underground together to search for valuables believed to have been swept into storm drains.

Although Reveron and Rodriguez have not been charged in connection with any other sewer incident, New York police said the latest case “fits that same criteria” as previous episodes, NBC News reported.

Security footage captured several nighttime incidents earlier this summer in which groups entered or exited sewer tunnels through street maintenance holes in Brooklyn and Queens.

In one video from Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood, about seven people emerged from a maintenance hole wearing headlamps and carrying what appeared to be shovels and other tools. One person narrowly avoided being struck by a vehicle while climbing out of the ground.

Another recording showed roughly seven people emerging around 2 a.m. from a maintenance hole on a quiet street in Brooklyn’s Gravesend neighborhood. They walked to parked cars and retrieved clean clothes to change into. Police said the group had entered the sewer around 11 p.m., suggesting they may have spent approximately three hours underground.

Earlier, in May, three people wearing waterproof hip waders and other protective equipment forced open a maintenance hole cover and descended into a Queens sewer. The last person closed the cover as approaching vehicles slowed to a stop.

Rob Wolejsza, a spokesperson for the department, told the Associated Press in June that entering the sewer system is both illegal and “extremely dangerous.”

“Sewers can contain numerous hazards, including noxious and potentially deadly gases, unstable surfaces, flooding risks, and confined spaces,” Wolejsza said in a statement. “For these reasons, members of the public should never enter a pipe, drain, catch basin, manhole, or outfall.”

BBC3 and BBC Scotland at Risk as BBC Boss Warns of Cuts

BBC director-general Matt Brittin has warned that more television and radio services could be closed as the broadcaster pursues a new round of savings, putting BBC Three and BBC Scotland among the channels facing uncertainty.

Mr Brittin, who took charge of the corporation in May, also said the BBC was prepared to explore AI-generated presenters for some future programmes, provided the technology was used within clear safeguards.

The 58-year-old former Google executive discussed the BBC’s financial pressures during an interview for Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg. A preview of the conversation was broadcast on BBC News At One on Friday.

He said strained finances, combined with audiences increasingly choosing on-demand content, could mean that some radio stations and television channels are shut down so money can be redirected towards digital services.

The BBC plans to save £500 million over the next three years and is expected to eliminate about 2,000 jobs. As part of that effort, Mr Brittin said he could not promise that any particular programme or channel would operate indefinitely.

He said the corporation was hoping to make broader funding decisions after a new charter is agreed in around 18 months, but added that the current financial squeeze had brought some choices forward.

“If most of an audience is getting things on demand, we have to examine the cost and value of every service,” Mr Brittin said, arguing that the BBC needed to determine how best to respond to the changing media landscape.

The BBC is targeting £500 million in savings over three years and is expected to cut roughly 2,000 jobs

The BBC has already cancelled several programmes in recent months, including Blankety Blank, Celebrity Mastermind, Live At The Apollo and Football Focus. The closure of BBC Three and BBC Scotland could be announced as soon as October.

The possible channel closures follow calls from senior BBC figures for more radical action, including the abolition of entire services such as the BBC News Channel, Radio 1, Radio 2 and the youth-focused BBC Three.

One senior BBC insider argued that making small reductions across every department would weaken the organisation overall. Instead, the source said, managers should consider cutting particular services in full rather than leaving the entire corporation operating below strength.

Asked by Ms Kuenssberg whether he would permit a programme to be created and presented by artificial intelligence, Mr Brittin said he would consider it, but only within defined limits.

He said the BBC wanted to test the technology and establish where it could be useful, while stressing that the organisation’s work remained rooted in human creativity.

“I don’t think anything we do should be replaced by AI,” he said. The technology could help the BBC stretch licence fee funding further and support decision-making and creative work, he added, but it should not be viewed as a replacement for people.

Mr Brittin also confirmed he would not rule out experimenting with AI generated presenters fronting future programmes produced by the company

Mr Brittin said the BBC could test AI-generated presenters for future programmes, provided suitable safeguards were in place

The corporation already uses artificial intelligence for services such as automated weather updates on its app and recommendations for viewers on iPlayer. However, Mr Brittin also voiced concern that a small number of technology companies could gain excessive influence over how information is created and accessed.

With AI entering a rapid expansion phase, he warned that as few as six companies could eventually control access to information, as well as the production of both reliable material and misinformation.

Mr Brittin said no platform should be trusted automatically. Instead, the BBC would need to monitor how major services operate and ensure its content continued to appear in the right places and serve the corporation’s public mission.

He said the BBC, along with its apps and online services, should act as “the antidote to the algorithm”, contrasting its public-service role with platforms shaped primarily by commercial interests.

Amid the new measures, the National Union of Journalists warned the broadcaster could enter a ‘doom spiral’ caused by planned cuts.

Laura Davison, the NUJ general secretary, said: ‘The BBC’s ongoing campaign of cuts is devastating and demoralising for our members and severely undermines the broadcaster’s ability to serve audiences across the UK. The latest wave of cuts piles on the misery already being felt.

‘Audiences deserve better, too. Millions of people across the UK now live in news deserts. The public wants original, quality and genuinely local news and programming – not more syndication and reruns.’

In 2024, the Los Angeles Times described Taylor Swift as “patient zero for emotional contagion”—a phrase that may have helped inspire “Patient Zero,” a track from Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, due out Sept. 25, 2026.

The song’s music video stars Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, but its story centers on Taylor connecting with a woman who shares her history with the same ex. The track opens: “If you wanna party with somebody who might know / About the devil on his shoulder under his halo / When the toxins take their hold, you’d rather die than let it go / But if you’re sick of him, I got you, I was patient zero.”

The reference to a man with a halo—or without one—echoes “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” from Tortured Poets, a song widely thought to reference Taylor’s former partner Matty Healy. In that track, she sang, “He had a halo of the highest grade / He just hadn’t met me yet.”

Now happily married, Taylor appears to turn “Patient Zero” into a word of advice for the new partner of an ex.

“Take it from somebody who lost his games but won the race / Take it from someone who said all of this to his face,” she sings. “Someone who knows she’s more than just the chase / Someone who had him and walked away.”

That raises the question: who might be the song’s inspiration? One possibility is Taylor’s girls’ night out with Sophie Turner, which took place soon after the actress split from Joe Jonas in 2023. Taylor dated Joe in 2008, and he is also widely believed to have inspired Fearless songs including “Forever & Always” and “Mr. Perfectly Fine.”
