Carol Vorderman Debunks Joe Lycett Fatherhood Rumors as Celebrities Flood Him with Congrats

Joe Lycett’s A-list friends have seemingly ‘verified’ the news of his foray into parenthood, putting to rest fan theories about another of his whimsical jests.

At 36, the humorist received an outpouring of heartfelt congratulations from fellow celebrities such as Carol Vorderman and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, celebrating the joyful announcement he made this week.

This week, Joe caught fans off guard by revealing he has a new son with an unnamed partner, sharing an image of himself gently holding the newborn. Yet, some followers remained skeptical about the authenticity of the news.

One fan quipped, ‘I want to congratulate you, truly, but I’m nervous you’re just holding a bundled-up potato; with Lycett, it’s hard to tell fiction from fact.’

Despite doubts, a host of Joe’s friends and admirers have flocked to his comments section with an array of endearing notes, seemingly confirming the delightful addition to his life.

Carol Vorderman added: ‘Hooorayyyyyy there he is ❤️❤️ both of you….all of you…..sending huge love’; Traitors star Paul Gorton added: ‘Congratulations Daddy!’

Other fans wrote: ‘This made me well up as a new mum. Congratulations. Lucky boy. Lucky you. Enjoy. Xx; omg congratulations❤️❤️❤️hope you’re all doing well xxx’.

However, several fans have claimed that the comedian is pranking them with the baby news.

They wrote: ‘I’m just worried this will come out as him cuddling a bunch of rhubarb in a hat tbh; Congratulations!! (unless this is an elaborate prank in which case, congratulations!)’

‘I want to congratulate you, I really do, but I’m slightly worried you’ve wrapped up a jacket spud; I never know what’s real and what’s not when Lycett is involved.’

Back in April, Joe revealed he was dating, having previously admitted ‘people presume I’m homosexual due to my entire personality.’

However, he has used the term bisexual to describe his sexuality in the past because he ‘struggled to explain his feelings’ and that ‘was easier.’

Joe has remained very private about his love life, very rarely giving insights and also uses a fake name for his partner in a bid to keep her identity a secret.

The TV personality announced he was in a new relationship and opened up about his sexuality during the new series of Late Night Lycett on Channel 4.

Speaking on the show in April, he revealed to viewers he had a mystery girlfriend –  after previously saying that he struggles to explain his sexuality.

Joe explained: ‘A lot has changed since the last series, I’ve got some news which is that I have a girlfriend.

‘I’ve talked about being bisexual for years but people presume I’m homosexual based on my entire personality…yes I’ve got a girlfriend and people have been very nice about it.’

Adding on the Bimini Bon-Boulash’s podcast The Pieces, Joe gave a rare insight into his love life as he spoke about using a fake name for his partner in a bid to keep her identity a secret.

He said: ‘So I’ve got Winston the cat, and my partner Denise. And, um, she’s not called Denise, but I don’t talk about her, because she has a job that she can’t be in the public eye.

‘I call her Denise because she hates the name Denise, so, uh, I live with Denise.’

Joe, who’s openly spoken about his sexuality in the past, then went on to speak to the former Ru Paul’s Drag Race star about being pansexual.

He shared: ‘Well, it’s interesting now being in a long-term relationship with a woman because loads of people are like, sorry what?

Joe continued: ‘There was a brief period when I was at school when I thought because I was attracted to men, I was gay, and then I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on.’

‘Then I use the term bisexual when anyone asks and I just want to give a quick answer because people understand that.

‘But I think the most accurate way of describing myself is pansexual, in that I’m not attracted to people, just because of their gender.’

Joe went on to say that at times he struggles to explain his sexuality, adding: ‘I also don’t really know how it works because, I don’t know, how does it work? As in, I don’t know how it works in terms of like, explaining it to idiots.

‘Because it is hard to sort of go, well, no, I am attracted to men sometimes, but not all men. And it’s not often to do with the fact that they are men.

‘Often it’s like a good torso is enough, you know? The little abs. Yeah, that’s it. The lines. The torso is dangerous. A lovely arm.

‘Yeah, it doesn’t matter what the gender or whatever. And I don’t know why that is, but that is how it is. It’s a strange one because to me that suggests that sexuality is not just man, woman.

‘So the intellectual side of me goes it’s pansexual, which means all. So, that’s how I feel about myself.’

On Friday, Joe revealed he had become a father for the first time when he shared a sweet snap of himself cradling his newborn son on Instagram.

Alongside the image, Joe penned on Instagram: ‘An appreciation post from me for the extraordinary @bham_womens hospital.

‘My first encounter with them was years ago when they looked after a pal of mine through surgery, and then most recently when they masterfully welcomed a little boy into the world, who happens to be my son.

‘The care and compassion his mum and he received was exceptional; from the antenatal classes, incredible midwives, consultants, doctors, nurses and the ongoing care in the community. We also loved their baked potatoes. Birmingham is so lucky to have them and I will be forever grateful for everything they’ve done.

‘I am LOVING being a dad but sadly I think this now means I can’t get out of going on Rob and Josh’s f**king podcast. We will not be taking any press requests about this as we have already sold the rights to the first family picture to Autotrader.’

He said: 'I've talked about being bisexual for years but people presume I'm homosexual based on my entire personality...yes I've got a girlfriend and people have been very nice about it'

Fans were quick to send their congratulations to the comic, though many were suspicious this could all be an elaborate prank – which the star is well known for.

Comments included: ‘I can’t tell if this is satire but I’m here for it either way.’

‘I’m saying congratulations but I’m also thinking this is you and it could easily be a puppy/kitten/gearbox in that hat.’

Callaway Golf CEO Admits ‘Mistakes Were Made’ Amid Ad Controversy

0

On Tuesday, Callaway Golf’s CEO Chip Brewer issued an apology over a controversial advertisement that has provoked a storm of criticism online. The ad features a male golfer aggressively shoving a female golfer to the ground as she attempts to use his driver, sparking outrage and accusations of promoting violence against women.

The ad, which was initially distributed online but has since been retracted, drew scathing reviews from viewers. Many condemned the portrayal and some pledged to boycott Callaway’s products in response to the offensive imagery.

The contentious ad, crafted by Good Good Golf, was launched last week to market a co-branded driver and had received prior approval from Callaway before reaching the public eye. It showcased Garrett Clark, co-founder of Good Good, warning Alexis Miestowski, an accomplished former Division I golfer, with the phrase, “Do not touch my new driver,” after forcibly shoving her.

Though Good Good did not immediately comment, the company took to social media on August 22 to issue its own apology, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity within the golfing community. Both Callaway and Good Good have yet to officially react further to press inquiries regarding the incident.

In addressing the situation, Brewer admitted, “That approval should never have happened. Mistakes were made, and we are taking the matter very seriously,” reinforcing Callaway’s regret and emphasizing the company’s genuine remorse over the video’s release. “I want to make it clear that we sincerely apologize for the video,” he stated.

Some social media users criticized Callaway’s apology.

“I’m deeply disappointed by Callaway’s response — and by the company itself,” one person wrote on social media in response to Brewer’s post, describing himself as a golfer who uses Callaway products. “Please stop framing this simply as a ‘mistake.’ Your own statement says the video was approved by Callaway before it was posted.”

Other commenters suggested that the company should donate to the Ladies Professional Golf Association and domestic violence organizations.

Women are a source of growth for the golf industry, with the National Golf Foundation reporting a 45% increase in female golfers from 2020 to 2025. The male golfer population has increased 12% over the same time period, the group said.

Despite the growing number of women golfers, they remain a minority on the links, accounting for 28% of golfers. Still, that’s the highest proportion of female golfers on record, the National Golf Foundation said.

Tragic Montana Home Shootout Claims 8 Lives, Children Included

0

A horrifying tragedy unfolded in Billings, Montana, as a gunman massacred eight members of the same family, tragically claiming the lives of at least two children in the assault.

After unleashing gunfire, the attacker set the family home ablaze, turning it into a deadly trap as the flames engulfed the house completely.

Police officers raced to the scene, arriving just 10 minutes after the shooting erupted at 6:01 PM on Monday. Despite their swift response, they could not prevent the devastating loss of life.

Among those who perished were 15-year-old Landon Ghekiere and his 12-year-old sister, Charlotte. Their parents, Adam Ghekiere and Erica Jarussi Schneider, along with Charlotte’s stepfather, Danny, were not present during the attack.

Though one individual miraculously survived the dreadful incident and was immediately taken to the hospital, there is no current information available regarding their condition.

The gunman was found dead near the house with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at 6.48pm, police said.

How the gunman was related to the family is unclear.

Interim Yellowstone County Sheriff Kent O’Donnell said gunshots were heard in the background of a 911 call and the house was set alight within three minutes.

The victims have been identified by police, but their names were not yet released other than Landon and Charlotte who were named by their family.

Billings Fire Department Chief Matt Hoppel said responding firefighters were hampered by there not being any fire hydrants in the area.

‘The delay and limited access presented significant challenges. Fire conditions continued to worsen, and the residence ultimately became heavily involved and was consumed by fire,’ he said.

The two children were mourned online by family and friends of their parents.

‘He was a loving, caring young man who was always willing to lend a hand to his family and neighbors.

‘He was looking forward to getting his driver’s license this week and was a patient, protective, and loving big brother.’

Charlotte was just about to start seventh grade when she was killed alongside her brother.

‘Funny, precocious, and adorable – with just the right amount of stubborn – Charlotte had an angelic smile and loved posing for pictures,’ the fundraiser shared.

‘She especially loved exploring the world around her, turning over rocks to look for bugs. Oh, how she loved her bugs!’

Ghekiere is an Airport Rescue Firefighter and was not involved in the shooting, family said.

The events leading up to the shooting and how the house was set on fire are being investigated by the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies.

Global Child Rescue: Florida’s Landmark Predator Sweep

0

Attorney General James Uthmeier announced on Tuesday the outcome of an international collaboration, Operation Statewide Shield, which successfully located 163 missing children. The operation spanned five continents with the youngest child being just 2 months old and the eldest, 17.

Florida law enforcement, in conjunction with federal and international agencies, embarked on a five-day mission in mid-August to trace and recover these children. The operation underscores a significant multi-agency effort to address a pressing issue.

Some of these children had run away, while others were victims of abandonment, neglect, or abuse. A portion had also been trafficked, highlighting the varied and tragic circumstances they faced, Uthmeier’s office reported.

“Tragically, many of these young individuals have been targeted by predators exploiting their vulnerability,” Uthmeier remarked.

The August mission was Florida’s first statewide child-recovery initiative and the largest operation of its kind in Florida history, according to Uthmeier’s office.

Thanks to the work of the operation’s partners, he said, “these children are now safe and receiving the care they deserve.

“Florida will continue leading the recovery of missing children, hunting down every predator and prosecuting abusers to the fullest extent of the law.”

Rescuers recovered the children in Florida, Alabama, California, Ohio, New York, North Carolina, Puerto Rico and Tennessee. They also found children in Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Dominica, Finland, Ghana, Guatemala, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Spain and Taiwan, Uthmeier’s office said.

Three men have been arrested so far, a spokesman for Uthmeier told News Media.

Michael Prescott was arrested on Aug. 21 by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, one count of felony battery and one count of aggravated assault.

Prescott already had an active warrant for interference with child custody, according to Uthmeier’s office.

Robert Ferral Allison was arrested on Aug. 20 by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with lewd and lascivious battery on a victim 12 to 16 years old.

Jayden Allen Harwood, according to Uthmeier’s office, was arrested on charges of interference in a child custody case and resisting officers without violence.

“Many more investigations [have been] started,” a spokesman for Uthmeier’s office said. “More arrests are expected.”

As the children were rescued, local law enforcement officers transported them to hubs, where they received support from social services workers, child welfare professionals, medical providers, victim advocates and other child-centered agencies, according to Uthmeier’s office.

Some of the children were reunited with their families, and some were taken into foster care, a spokesman for the attorney general’s office said.

The recoveries allowed the children’s cases with the Missing and Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse to be closed, Uthmeier said.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) steered the operation using lessons learned from Operation Dragon Eye and Operation Home for the Holidays, carried out by the U.S. Marshals.

Helping plan and execute the operation were: the Office of Statewide Prosecution, the Department of Children and Families (DCF), the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), Baycare, More to Life and the Florida Human Trafficking Victims Fund.

Providing critical assistance were numerous municipal law enforcement agencies and federal partners, and 13 Florida sheriff’s offices including Manatee, Sarasota, Jacksonville, Clay, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Flagler, Orange, Escambia, Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas, Uthmeier said.

Ex-Car Salesman Turned Prince Finally Rejoices as British Royalty Acknowledges Love Child

0

The life of a former car salesman has dramatically changed as he embraces his newfound identity as a Prince. He recently expressed immense relief about shedding the burden of concealing his true heritage.

Clement Vandenkerckhove, aged 26, is the unacknowledged son of Prince Laurent of Belgium. His father, Prince Laurent, had a romantic liaison with an 80s pop singer, which resulted in Clement’s birth. Remarkably, this took place during the same year Laurent began his relationship with his now British wife.

Prince Laurent, the younger sibling of Belgium’s King Philippe, reportedly confirmed his paternity this past February. Consequently, Clement has officially been recognized as a Prince, as confirmed by town hall documents reviewed by Soir Mag.

In what appears to be a personal post on Instagram, Clement shared his thoughts on the monumental shift in his life: “Adjusting to the newfound relief of not having to hide my origins is still very much a journey in progress.”

He went on to convey his deep appreciation for the overwhelming waves of support and kind words from those who have followed his story. “The many warm reactions and words of encouragement have moved me more profoundly than I ever anticipated,” he remarked.

‘To be honest, I’m still not quite sure how to take it all in, but the feeling that rises above everything else is gratitude – and that is something I really wanted to share with you.

‘So, truly, thank you to everyone whose kindness and affection have helped me,’ wrote the Prince.

His post also included two photographs of himself, one thought to be taken more recently, and another showing him as a child running towards the sea.

Earlier this summer, Clement Vandenkerckhove posed for a photo with Prince Laurent for a sweet Father's Day post recognising both his dad and his mother's husband

Earlier this summer, Clement Vandenkerckhove posed for a photo with Prince Laurent for a sweet Father’s Day post recognising both his dad and his mother’s husband

Despite his new title, Clement will not receive a royal allowance nor will he appear in the line of succession.

The Prince had posted a photo with Laurent earlier this summer for a sweet Father’s Day post, recognising both his dad and his mother’s husband Frans Vancoppenolle.

‘Today I celebrate two fathers who, each in their own way, play an important role in my life,’ he penned. ‘Thank you for everything. Happy Father’s Day!’

Last year, Clement identified himself in a documentary, confirming speculation that had been rife in local media for years.

He described the moment his mother told him the truth about his father, recalling: ‘She said, “Your daddy is a Prince. Your daddy is that man.”‘

Prince Laurent, 62, himself confirmed the news in a statement, saying: ‘With this announcement, I acknowledge that I am the biological father of Clement Vandenkerckhove. We have spoken openly and honestly about this in recent years.

‘This announcement is based on a sense of understanding and respect for those involved. It is the result of joint consultation.

‘I kindly request that you receive this information with the discretion that the nature of this intimate matter requires. I will not make any further statements or provide any further explanation on this matter.’

Clement was born in 2000, the same year that Prince Laurent is understood to have met his wife of 23 years, Claire Coombs, who was born in Bath to a British father and Belgian mother.

The Prince’s relationship with Clement’s mother, 80s popstar Wendy Van Wanten, was never officially confirmed, but the pair were spotted at events together in the late 1990s. Notably, they attended Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie’s wedding.

The Daily Mail contacted the Belgian Royal Family for comment at the time. It is understood that the line of succession will not be affected by the announcement, which comes five years after Prince Laurent’s father, King Albert II, publicly acknowledged his own love child, Princess Delphine.

In clips from the series on broadcaster VTM’s Instagram, Clement reflected on the bizarre experience of being told about his heritage by his mother, who admitted she was ‘maybe a little naive in thinking I could keep that quiet’.

Clement recalled his thoughts when his mother first told him the truth, saying: ‘If he is a Prince, what am I? My uncle is the King of Belgium!’

He also recounted what it felt like to make contact with his birth father. ‘Suddenly I’m handed a number,’ he said. ‘I think: “That’s his number, that’s just really his.” So I call… and that phone rings. Really, my heart was in my throat.’

He also addressed feelings of past confusion about not knowing his biological father and wondering where he came from.

‘Sometimes, that question would come back: “Do you actually know who your father is? Is he dead?”,’ he told the documentary. ‘I’d just want to be with my dad… going for a pint.’

He described how later, after a series of phone calls and meetings, they arranged a DNA test which confirmed everything.

Elsewhere, Clement also said that he didn’t place any blame on his mother Wendy or Prince Laurent for their history.

‘We’re all human, right? Neither my father nor my mother did anything wrong,’ he explained. ‘So I just want to be able to go through life normally.’

Clement's mother, 80s star Wendy Van Wanten, was never confirmed to have been in a relationship with the Prince, but the pair were spotted at events in the late 90s together

Clement’s mother, 80s star Wendy Van Wanten, was never confirmed to have been in a relationship with the Prince, but the pair were spotted at events in the late 90s together

Princess Claire, who trained as a land surveyor, met Laurent – who is ten years her senior – in 2000. The pair were reportedly introduced at a friend’s house, and bonded over helping do the dishes together after dinner.

The couple announced their engagement in 2002, and in an interview to mark the occasion the Prince praised his bride’s ‘spontaneity’ and love of children.

At the time, Belgian press hailed the future Princess as ‘very British’ and noted that she was discreet and reserved to the point of being secretive.

Born to a solidly middle-class family, her parents moved to Belgium with Claire, her brother and sister when she was three years old.

Her father, who was born in Wimbledon, worked for a telecoms company in Canada and then in the linen and textiles industry before setting up a business specialising in rubber bands.

Claire’s mother was born in Ixelles, Belgium, but moved to the UK to complete her apprenticeship as a secretary, and later joined her husband in the family business.

Despite her dual citizenship and admitting that the family largely spoke English at home, Claire has admitted she ‘feels Belgian’, as per La Libre.

Speaking to the outlet, she admitted she had ‘learned a lot’ from her husband and albeit feeling nervous about being in the spotlight at first, has become used to it.

‘It didn’t bother me. Everything happened naturally,’ she shared. ‘Of course, I am recognised from time to time. But if people spend their time watching me work, they will quickly get bored.’

When asked what they like about one another at the news of their engagement, Claire said she was fond of Laurent’s ‘sensitivity and generosity’, while he praised the fact that she is ‘honest, spontaneous and likes children’.

Claire and Laurent were married at Brussels’ gothic Town Hall the following year, with a religious ceremony at the Cathedral of Saint Michael and Saint Gudula.

Her wedding look was so popular – adorned with a lace gown from Natan’s Édouard Vermeulen – it was said to have inspired a replica for the hit movie Princess Diaries 2.

Princess Claire rarely appears in public with her husband, but does occasionally support him at environmental causes or animal charities. The royal is the leading patron of Brussels Choral Society, which sang at the religious part of her marriage ceremony, and is a member of the Board of Trustees at the British School of Brussels.

She also often attends charitable and commemorative events hosted by the British Ambassador to Belgium.

Meanwhile, Clement’s mother Wendy, now 66, who was known for hosting the erotic Flemish TV show De Pin Up Club, where she offered sex advice to viewers writing into the show.

As well as being a singer, she had also starred in a number of movies and TV shows, and now shares photos with her husband Frans Vancoppenolle and their children.

Wendy also has a second son Dylan, 41, and daughter Estelle, 17, who she shares with Frans.

In 2021, Clement appeared on the Flemish documentary series Het Huis to deny the claims that he was the Prince’s son.

When quizzed over the rumours about his parentage, he told the programme: ‘It won’t be the answer you expect.

‘I think it’s very fairytale-like that everyone thinks that, which is great. But fairytales are just fairytales, if you know what I mean.

‘Can you picture me standing in line to the throne? It’s good to talk about it. On the one hand, it’s not fun because it stirs up emotions, but on the other hand, this is for the best. I want to be able to put it behind me, to no longer have it haunt me.’

Four years on, he has now made another TV appearance to confirm that the rumours are true, saying he wants to put an end to speculation that has ‘overshadowed’ his life for years.

Laurent, meanwhile, has three children with Princess Claire: Princess Louise, 22, and twins Prince Nicolas and Prince Aymeric, both 20.

He has in past been branded an ‘enfant terrible’ and the ‘cursed prince’ after a series of failed business ventures and gaffes.

Gavin Newsom’s Fiercest Defender Launches Bold Offensive Against Pete Buttigieg

0

Though the 2028 presidential election remains more than two years on the horizon, tensions are already simmering in the race for the Democratic nomination. The political landscape is beginning to buzz with emerging rivalries.

Recently, a remark from Gavin Newsom’s communications director, Izzy Gardon, ignited controversy. Gardon delivered a sharp jab at former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg regarding his visit back to South Carolina, adding fuel to the already heated political discourse.

This came after Aida Ross, the communications director for Buttigieg, shared a snapshot of him during his trip to Orangeburg, South Carolina. “Pete returned to Orangeburg, SC! Great night with the Orangeburg Branch of the NAACP,” Ross enthused in her post, highlighting a successful engagement.

Gardon didn’t hesitate to fire back.

In a biting retort, he quipped, “First time in SC in 3 years? Nice!” dripping with sarcasm, his words underlining the escalating competition within the Democratic Party.

The jab immediately drew criticism from some users, with several questioning why Newsom’s team would take aim at another potential Democratic presidential contender so early in the 2028 cycle.

Democratic strategist Jennifer Holdsworth, who previously worked for Buttigieg, wrote, ‘Staffers of potential 2028ers who denigrate other potential 2028ers at this juncture should be embarrassed. They reflect extremely poorly on their principals.’

Former Buttigieg staffer Stefan Smith wrote, ‘Potential 2028 staffers, huddle up: you do not want to start the fighting now or on this platform. It’s too early in the cycle. The longer we play nice (and encourage the principals to play nice) the better it is for everyone.’

And one user wrote, ‘Yo. This isn’t the way, my guy. This makes me think less of your boss… if this is what he wants to do at this stage of the game it doesn’t bode well for the next year. Negative points to Newsom.’

The episode has once again put the spotlight on Gardon, the communications strategist who has played a prominent role in shaping Newsom’s increasingly combative online persona.

Gardon helped transform the California governor’s social-media operation into a highly aggressive political messaging machine, using shock-value tactics, ALL-CAPS taunts meant to mimic the president, memes, nicknames and rapid-fire attacks designed to provoke reactions.

But Gardon was quick to make clear that the comment was his own and not a statement from Newsom.

He told the Daily Mail that the comment had been made from his personal account and stressed that it was not an official statement from the governor’s office.

‘It was simply my own observation — not a comment on behalf of anyone else,’ Gardon said.

Buttigieg’s visit to South Carolina is significant because the state holds the first-in-the-South Democratic primary, making it a crucial early test for presidential hopefuls and a key opportunity to build support among Black voters.

His 2020 presidential campaign struggled to attract support from Black Democrats.

His return comes as a growing number of potential Democratic contenders begin laying the groundwork for another presidential race.

Buttigieg, who mounted a historic presidential campaign in 2020 before serving as President Joe Biden’s Transportation Secretary, has recently indicated that he is ‘more inclined than not’ to run for president again.

Newsom, meanwhile, has repeatedly been mentioned as one of the party’s potential 2028 contenders.

The governor has built a national political profile through his battles with Trump, his fundraising network and his aggressive media operation — all of which have fueled speculation about his ambitions.

Despite the jockeying among potential candidates, Vice President Kamala Harris remains the leading Democrat in the latest RealClearPolitics poll, with Gavin Newsom and Pete Buttigieg also among names receiving significant attention.

According to the RealClearPolitics figures, Harris is at 37.4 percent, followed by Newsom at 16.4 percent, Buttigieg at 11.6 percent and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at 9.4 percent.

Those numbers are only an early snapshot of a contest that is still far from taking shape.
