RHOC Season 20 Faces Challenges with Tamra Judge’s Reserved Performance Following Season 19 Criticisms

EXCLUSIVE: 'RHOC' Season 20 is Lacking Due to Tamra Judge Holding Back After Cast Complained About Her During Season 19

Credit: Bravo

On The Real Housewives of Orange County, Tamra Judge has consistently stood out as the cast member known for stirring the pot.

Even though her approach often divides fans, Tamra’s knack for fueling conversations and fearlessly voicing her opinions has been a hallmark of the show since its inception.

However, during the 20th season, which is currently airing, the 58-year-old reality star seems to have toned down her usual fiery persona, a change that hasn’t escaped the attention of her fellow cast members.

During last night’s episode, Gina Kirschenheiter told Tamra she’s “such a different person this year” in terms of her behavior and communication.

Tamra agreed with her, noting she’s learned to let things go, avoid getting triggered by things that aren’t important, and is appreciative of her friendships.

Gina’s comments are a marked change of pace from last season when the cast voiced complaints about Tamra’s behavior, walking off during filming, and allegedly quitting the show multiple times.

In fact, during the cast trip to New Orleans, it was Gina who confronted Tamra over her behavior.

While the new Tamra is on full display this season, some fans have also been vocal online that they’re finding the season overall dull. This is likely due to the lack of a lot of drama on it.

Reality Blurb spoke to multiple insiders who all pointed to what is lacking on the show.

“Tamra is absolutely holding back this season after the cast came at her so hard last year,” one insider noted.

“This is having a negative impact on the show, because, whether you love her or not, she is the show,” a second source shared. “Without her being activated and bringing it, it’s proving there is a lack of any serious drama for fans to sink their teeth into. Without that type of drama or conflict, the show just isn’t as interesting and is lacking to reach its full potential.”

To date, seven episodes have aired this season. While last night’s did have some drama between Vicki Gunvalson and newbie Carmella Garcia, it will be interesting to see where things go the rest of the season from a conflict standpoint.

“The cast and fans really should be careful for what they wish for,” the first source added. “Tamra being herself and bringing it is an essential part of what makes this show work. It was boring during the seasons she was off, and now that she’s seemingly holding back a bit, it’s not as good as it could be.”

New episodes of RHOC air weekly on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

Woman Avoids Jail After Walmart Parking Lot Altercation and Attempted Escape from Custody

0

Inset: Allie Barrentine (Bay County Jail). Background: A Walmart Supercenter in Panama City Beach, Fla. (Google Maps).

An Alabama woman may avoid a prison sentence in Florida following her involvement in an assault on elderly women at a Walmart parking lot.

Earlier in the month, 25-year-old Allie Grace Barrentine entered a no contest plea to charges that include battery on an individual aged 65 or older, resisting arrest without violence, and disorderly conduct, as revealed by court documents obtained by Law&Crime.

According to the plea agreement, prosecutors agreed to drop one count of battery on a person 65 years of age or older, as per court documentation.

Consequently, the presiding judge implemented a deferred adjudication order, placing Barrentine on probation for a period of 24 months.

Under the terms of the defendant’s probation, the judge wrote that there will be “zero tolerance for use of any” controlled substance without a valid prescription. Barrentine must also undergo a mental health evaluation and corresponding treatment within 30 days of the court’s order, and she must take all medication as prescribed.

The defendant was also ordered to pay $1,028 in court costs and $300 in attorneys fees, have no contact with the victim, and complete 100 hours of community service, final judgment documents show.

The underlying incident occurred in March at a Walmart Supercenter on Panama City Beach Parkway in the city of the same name, a small resort town located along the Florida Panhandle.

Around 7:40 p.m. on March 23, police officers were called to the parking lot, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime. There, police allege, the defendant “actually and intentionally” ended up striking two victims.

At the time, Barrentine “was walking through the parking lot” while one victim was the passenger in, and the other was the driver of, a vehicle “going down the same lane,” the charging document issued by the Panama City Beach Police Department says.

No inciting incident is mentioned in the affidavit — just the allegation of ensuing violence as the defendant and the car were in proximity.

“The defendant began to punch the vehicle,” the charging document reads. “The occupants of the vehicle exited and the defendant grabbed the victim’s left arm and broke one bracelet. The defendant also grabbed and pulled the victim by her necklace. The victim is approximately 69 years of age.”

The law enforcement narrative is largely repetitive in describing the initial moments of the alleged attack on the second woman, using substantially similar language as the first description.

But the second woman was injured differently, police said.

“The defendant began to punch the victim’s vehicle,” the complaint goes on. “The occupants of the vehicle exited, and the defendant grabbed the victim by the throat which had visible redness. The defendant also scratched the orbital area and punched the victim with a closed fist in the left eye. There was also visible rise in the area where she was scratched. The victim is approximately 65 years of age.”

Law enforcement arrived around 8 p.m. that night, the affidavit says.

At around 8:05 p.m., Barrentine made contact with responding officers and resisted arrest, according to the police department.

“While speaking with the defendant, she had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath, was unsteady on her feet and needing to lean on a vehicle to remain upright, and was slurring her speech heavily,” an officer wrote in the affidavit. “The defendant also admitted to consuming alcohol and Cannabis.”

After one officer told another officer the defendant was being charged and arrested, Barrentine was told “to face the vehicle and to place her arms behind her back,” police said.

Those commands, however, apparently did not go over well.

“The defendant became argumentative and refused to comply,” the police officer wrote, saying “she attempted to pull away multiple times” after being pushed “against the vehicle to secure her.”

Handcuffing Barrentine was allegedly not much easier.

“When swapping the defendant into flex cuffs and removing the original handcuffs, the defendant slipped the flex cuffs and pulled her left arm out, again attempting to pull away from us despite being ordered to stop resisting,” the charging document goes on. “After being secured in a patrol vehicle, the defendant tampered with the flex cuffs and removed them from her right wrist, requiring a different set of restraints to be used.”

Barrentine, who hails from Tuscaloosa County, waived extradition to Florida as part of the case’s relatively quick resolution, records show.

The post Woman who attacked driver in Walmart parking lot for getting too close to her will avoid jail time, despite slipping her cuffs when arrested first appeared on Law & Crime.

Cuba’s Economic Collapse Sparks Alarming National Security Concerns Near Florida

0

In a stark warning to U.S. policymakers, a new report highlights the potential dangers posed by Cuba’s growing ties with Russia, China, and Iran. Despite its deepening economic woes, the island nation, positioned just 90 miles from Florida, could still offer America’s rivals a strategic landing point.

The America First Policy Institute’s report, titled “The Dictatorship Next Door: Cuba and the Fight for the Western Hemisphere,” suggests that Washington has largely misread Cuba’s growing threat. It argues that the nation has been mainly seen as a concern regarding human rights, migration, or economic factors, while its association with America’s adversaries and the resulting security implications have been underestimated. These alliances could facilitate intelligence gathering, military collaboration, cyber operations, and political influence right next to the U.S.

“Cuba poses a significant national security threat to the United States,” stated Melissa Ford Maldonado, the director of AFPI’s Western Hemisphere Initiative, during an interview with News Media ahead of the document’s publication.

Ford Maldonado emphasized, “They remain a hostile communist regime mere miles from Florida,” and underscored Cuba’s long-standing history of antagonism toward U.S. interests and bolstering of U.S. foes.

The report’s most concrete current concern centers on China and suspected intelligence facilities on the island.

A June 18, 2026, analysis by the Center for Strategic and International Studies found continued activity at Cuban sites capable of supporting signals intelligence collection. CSIS said it had previously identified four such sites, several with possible links to China.

Ford Maldonado said she believes the broader evidence of Chinese intelligence activity on Cuba is compelling.

“There is a lot of credible evidence that there are Chinese bases and that there is spying going on in Cuba,” she said, claiming that China has taken advantage of Cuba’s geographic position to monitor U.S. activity.

A spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy told News Media in response to a request for comment that “China-Cuba cooperation is open and aboveboard.”

“Fabricating pretexts and spreading smears cannot justify the U.S. side’s brutal blockade and illegal sanctions against Cuba, nor can they conceal the fact that the U.S. is gravely violating Cuba’s rights to survival and development and breaching the basic norms governing international relations,” the spokesperson said.

“China firmly supports Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty and security and urges the U.S. to immediately end its blockade and sanctions against Cuba, as well as all forms of coercion and pressure.”

Russia’s relationship with Havana is older and more extensive.

Ford Maldonado described Moscow and Havana as increasingly “intimate, reliable partners,” pointing to diplomatic and military cooperation as well as Cuban nationals joining Russian forces fighting in Ukraine.

The number of Cubans fighting for Russia is contested. A U.S. State Department cable obtained by Reuters on Oct. 5, 2025 estimated that 1,000 to 5,000 Cubans were fighting in Ukraine alongside Russian forces. Reuters reported that Ukrainian officials had also raised concerns with U.S. lawmakers about Russia’s recruitment of Cuban nationals.

Cuba has denied sending troops to Ukraine. In an Oct. 11 statement reported by Reuters, the Cuban Foreign Ministry said Cuba was not participating in the conflict with military personnel and said it had prosecuted Cubans for mercenary activity. Havana said 40 defendants had faced criminal proceedings between 2023 and 2025, with 26 convicted.

Ukraine nevertheless closed its embassy in Havana in October 2025 and downgraded relations, with Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha accusing Cuban authorities of failing to act against what Kyiv described as large-scale Russian recruitment of Cuban citizens, according to The Kyiv Independent.

The public evidence regarding Iran is considerably less developed — something Ford Maldonado acknowledged when pressed by News Media. “Iran was a little bit trickier,” she said.

“There wasn’t that much substance that I could find to include it in the report,” Ford Maldonado said, adding that she believes Iran has used Cuba primarily as a platform for influence operations.

“The evidence was not as substantive as we saw with China and Russia and Venezuela,” she said.

The Trump administration has nevertheless grouped Iran with Russia and China in its own assessment of Cuba.

In a Jan. 29, 2026, executive order, President Donald Trump declared Cuba’s policies an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to U.S. national security and said Havana aligns itself with Russia, China, Iran and Iranian proxies – Hezbollah and Hamas. The order also accused Cuba of hosting foreign military and intelligence capabilities and specifically alleged deep intelligence and defense cooperation with China and Russian signals-intelligence activity.

AFPI’s report calls for a substantially tougher U.S. response.

“We are not advocating for new American bases,” she clarified. Instead, she said Washington could pursue expanded access agreements, overflight rights, cooperative security locations and stronger regional partnerships.

“The objective is just permanent and persistent… American capability,” Ford Maldonado said.

The call for even greater pressure, however, comes as ordinary Cubans are enduring a severe humanitarian crisis.

Power outages were exceeding 20 hours a day in most provinces, Reuters reported Aug. 13, 2026, crippling food production, transportation and tourism and pushing Cuba’s electrical system toward technical collapse. Reuters described the situation as one of the most severe economic and political crises in Cuba’s modern history and said it had been exacerbated by the Trump administration’s oil restrictions and hardened sanctions.

A July 7 investigation by Human Rights Watch (HRW) described severe shortages of food and medicine, prolonged blackouts, water shortages and deteriorating living conditions.

Cuba’s National Electric System (SEN) suffered another disconnection on Monday while efforts were still underway to restore the grid following the previous night’s total blackout in Havana, Cuba on August 5, 2026. The Electric Union (UNE) attributed this new setback to weather conditions that struck an unstable grid, knocking out part of the generation capacity that had already been brought back online. (Angelo Mastrascusa/Anadolu via Getty Images)

HRW attributed Cuba’s crisis to multiple factors, including longstanding structural inefficiencies in its highly state-controlled economy, decades of U.S. restrictions on trade and financing, the collapse of tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent tightening of U.S. sanctions. HRW said the 2026 restrictions on oil supplies further deepened the energy crisis.

Critics of the Trump administration’s maximum-pressure strategy argue that further squeezing an already collapsing economy risks worsening civilian suffering and triggering additional instability and migration.

On June 8, U.N.-appointed independent human rights experts called for the sanctions to be lifted, arguing that they were putting Cubans’ access to essential goods and services at risk.

Asked about that broader criticism, Ford Maldonado said the blame belongs with Havana rather than Washington.

“Maximum pressure isn’t harming the Cuban people, it’s harming their regime,” she said, arguing that the Cuban government and Cuban people should be treated as distinct.

“One has brutalized and repressed the other for 67 years now,” Ford Maldonado said. “So maximum pressure is what’s necessary from the United States and from the rest of the world in order to be able to help the Cuban people.”

UK Childhood May Secure Archie & Lilibet’s Royal Titles Against Prince William’s Plans

We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

In a surprising twist of events, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced plans to return to the United Kingdom by September 2026. Despite initial reactions of disbelief, Brittany Provance, Editor-in-Chief of the Royal News Network, suggests the move aligns with recent challenges. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced growing financial concerns and business setbacks. Additionally, the relocation could address the royal status of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, the siblings have held HRH titles, which might be under scrutiny.

Back in 2020, Harry and Meghan abandoned their roles as senior royals and relocated to the U.S., effectively distancing Archie and Lilibet from their British royal heritage. This arrangement has sufficed until now, but circumstances may shift with Prince William’s ascension to the throne. As the new Prince of Wales, William might not maintain the same royal benefits for non-working royals, posing a potential challenge to the children’s status. “The couple can strengthen their children’s connections to the Crown before King William’s reign, when their titles and positions may be on the chopping block,” Provance shared with Nicki Swift.

Concerns regarding their children’s titles are not unfounded. Prince William is reportedly considering reducing the monarchy’s size, possibly affecting non-active royals. This strategy aligns with King Charles III’s recent decision to limit those appearing alongside him on the Buckingham Palace balcony, favoring a more streamlined royal representation.

Prince William and Prince Harry’s feud may still cause issues

Prince William’s choice for his children to use their HRH titles underscores the significance of such designations, reflecting broader implications for Harry and Meghan. Provance notes, “As it turns out, Harry and Meghan need the monarchy more than the monarchy needed them. The question is: will they be accepted back into the fold, and will this help them as they try to relaunch?” This uncertainty adds complexity to the upcoming transition, with only time revealing its outcome. Meanwhile, the Sussexes appear to be making strategic moves for their future.

Since Harry and William’s feud is going as strong as ever, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might not be overreacting if they have concerns over Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s titles. “Once he was crowned as king, his brother might well show no mercy to him and Meghan,” royal reporter Tom Bower wrote in his 2026 book, “Betrayal: Power, Deceit And The Fight For The Future Of The Royal Family” (via Harper’s Bazaar). There’s no way of knowing whether William has plans to strip Archie and Lilibet’s titles, but besides the concern over his kids’ future within the monarchy, Harry has also previously expressed a desire to have Archie and Lilibet feel British, as well as American.

In a statement read during his security court case (via BBC), Harry noted that the loosened security arrangements were getting in the way of his children’s access to their roots. “The UK is my home. The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the US,” he expressed in 2023. The move back should accomplish this part, at least.

Family Sues Charlotte for Fatal Train Stabbing Wrongful Death

0

In a legal battle underscored by grief and outrage, the family of Iryna Zarutska has filed a lawsuit against the city of Charlotte, North Carolina, and its private transit security firm. This action comes a year after her tragic murder sent shockwaves across the nation.

The lawsuit claims that deep-rooted “systemic failures” have left Charlotte’s light-rail system perilously unprotected, posing significant safety threats to passengers.

At the heart of the complaint, the wrongful-death lawsuit—brought against the City of Charlotte and Professional Police Services Inc., known publicly as Professional Security Services (PSS)—asserts that Zarutska’s death was entirely avoidable. At this stage, these allegations await judicial examination.

Lauren Newton, representing Zarutska’s bereaved family and estate, emphasized the longstanding nature of the issues, telling WBTV, “What it shows is the systemic failures that have been within the CATS system for years that the city has been aware of.”

Central to the lawsuit is the accusation that during the fatal incident on August 22, 2025, no security guard was present on the Lynx Blue Line train where Zarutska was stabbed. It further criticizes PSS for inadequately staffing and deploying both armed and unarmed security personnel.

Charlotte’s amended contract with PSS provided funding for 219 security personnel for fiscal years 2025 and 2026, according to the complaint, which alleges PSS had hired 183 at the time of Zarutska’s killing.

The lawsuit further alleges PSS had only 11 armed guards despite the contract providing for up to 39 armed personnel.

“They weren’t fully staffed,” Newton told WBTV. “If there had been a security guard on that train, Iryna Zarutska would be here.”

Her assertion that a guard would have prevented Zarutska’s death has not been established in court.

Follow the latest on the shocking murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte:

The complaint also takes aim at fare enforcement, alleging Zarutska’s accused killer, Decarlos Brown Jr., rode CATS transportation without paying before the attack.

It alleges there were no physical barriers preventing non-ticketed riders from accessing the light rail.

“There’s been literally no fare enforcement and those things, at a basic level, are what’s necessary for safety. And there’s been none of that,” Newton told WBTV.

The lawsuit alleges Charlotte and PSS knew or should have known about the Blue Line and its stops had repeatedly been the site of criminal activity before Zarutska’s death.

“Violent crime was absolutely foreseeable,” Newton told WBTV.

The estate brings claims including wrongful death based on allegedly negligent and inadequate security and gross negligence.

It seeks damages exceeding $25,000 and punitive damages against PSS, but not against Charlotte.

“The family doesn’t want this to happen to anyone else’s loved one,” Newton previously told WBTV.

Fox News Digital separately reached out to PSS and Newton for comment but did not receive immediate responses.

The City of Charlotte informed Fox News Digital it does not provide comment on active litigation.

Monarchy on the Brink: Can the Crown Weather Scandals and Regain Public Trust?

0

In every clan, a few unsavory characters can usually be found. Yet, the Royal Family seems to be grappling with more than its fair share.

At the forefront of this troubled legacy is Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, whose reputation is about to face more scrutiny. He could soon encounter another wave of misconduct allegations, cementing his position as perhaps the most notorious figure within the monarchy.

However, even if Andrew’s situation is seen as exceptional, King Charles faces challenges from other quarters. Next month, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are set to return, adding a new layer of complexity.

Meanwhile, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Andrew’s daughters, find themselves enveloped in speculation. Persistent rumors suggest ties to Jeffrey Epstein, their father’s controversial friend and notorious financier.

Adding to this intricate web is Sarah Ferguson, Andrew’s former spouse. While she holds no official royal title, her presence loiters in the backdrop, figuratively permeating like an unshakable reminder of past indiscretions.

The question is no longer how the monarchy deals with its wayward family members, but whether it can survive being beset by so many of them. This is now a crisis unprecedented in the modern history of the Royal Family, stretching back to its reinvention almost 200 years ago by Queen Victoria and her Consort, Prince Albert.

One way to establish which of them presents the greatest threat is to ask which has most to gain from the current chaos. And the answer to that is self-evident. It is the Sussexes.

Harry’s return may be occasioned by a desire to be closer to a father who may not have long to live but it may also be opportunistic – to get his feet under the royal table while his father is in power and before his brother removes his titles and those of his children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five.

If the Sussex brand is to grow, it is imperative that Archie and Lilibet remain a prince and princess. The monetary value of those titles is incalculable. It might be argued that, even if the future King William V were to banish them, the children could continue to insist on their royal handles. But the titles would be devalued.

Just as the demoted princes and princesses of Russia and Eastern Europe, from whose ranks Prince Philip came, were regarded as second-class royalty, Archie and Lilibet would never enjoy the glamour that is the birthright of their cousins, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.

That would be gall and wormwood to the Duke and Duchess – assuming they still were a duke and duchess. They have evidently realised this, and decided that they need to return to the fold.

And the King seems to have accepted this. We are told Charles was informed of the move only on Sunday and will be pleased to have the chance of spending more time with grandchildren he has hardly seen.

This is the culmination of Project Thaw, entrusted to the King’s assistant private secretary Theo Rycroft, to bring Harry back into the fold.

If it’s true the timing of the Sussexes’ return was a complete surprise to the monarch – and it is well to regard all Palace communications with a measure of scepticism – this suggests it has come as a shock to Archie and Lilibet as well.

After all, it seems unthinkable that Meghan and Harry will have told the children in advance but forbidden them to breathe a word, even to their grandfather, whom they saw at Highgrove only six weeks ago.

The King’s stamp of approval on the plan is crucial for Harry and Meghan. And it seems certain to be given, not least because there are advantages for Charles himself. Of course he wanted to reconcile with his younger son, but the news will also distract from the awkward questions currently being asked about what he knew of Andrew’s business dealings, as well as wider issues about royal privilege, accountability and governance.

For the next few months, at least, all the talk will be of Harry and Meghan. No one will be looking at the other royal miscreants, unless Andrew becomes the focus of more revelations about Epstein or his former role as the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment.

Princess Eugenie, who is still on very amicable terms with the Sussexes, and Princess Beatrice will appreciate the shift of focus away from them. So, doubtless, will their mother, who for practically the first time in her life has been keeping a low profile – not even attending the funeral of her ex-lover and sugar daddy, Formula One tycoon Paddy McNally.

But if the assorted villains of the family, some less petty than others, are glad of the distraction, the Prince of Wales has been confronted with an unenviable and unexpected dilemma.

William detests his brother so deeply that it is said he refuses to have Harry’s name spoken in his presence.

Yet how will he be able to strip the Sussexes of all their baubles when he becomes King, if their father has publicly forgiven them? Perhaps the greatest test will come at Christmas. By then, Harry, Meghan and their children will have been back in the UK for three months.

Will the couple join the Royal Family at Sandringham? William has made it clear he and his family will not tolerate the presence of the former Prince Andrew, let alone his ex-wife. I strongly suspect he will take the same hard line with his brother.

This places the King and Queen in an appalling position. Do they tell Harry that he isn’t welcome at Christmas? Or do they insist that forgiveness means forgiveness, and that all the Sussexes will be carolling round the Sandringham tree with them?

In that case, William and Catherine may well feel that Christmas with the Middletons, the Princess of Wales’s family, is the only bearable option. That risks driving a wedge between the heir to the throne and his father, and will certainly cause Charles untold grief.

Such are the problems caused by the bad apples. The rest of the family must manoeuvre constantly to accommodate them. There are no good solutions, only bad compromises.

It appears that Harry and Meghan Markle have achieved all this without issuing an apology for their heinous behaviour, which included accusing the Royal Family of racism and denouncing them on a US chat show.

They have also won the ‘half in, half out’ strategy for which they argued six years ago and were refused by Queen Elizabeth. It is thought Harry will focus on next year’s Invictus Games and charity work, while his wife has reportedly been offered an acting role in Britain and will continue to oversee her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

The couple’s hope is that they may be called to fill in at garden parties as the Palace tests the public mood and that eventually they may return to partial royal duties. This is a cynical and hypocritical reinvention, but creating new narratives has never worried them.

This is how such characters operate, by refusing to be ashamed of anything they do. The others strive to do nothing that will compromise their reputations. How much easier for the ones without conscience, who can behave as they like and kick out at anyone who dares criticise them for it.

There have been signs for the past year that Harry was keen to set up his own alternative royal court in Britain. The Daily Mail’s royal commentator Richard Eden revealed Project Thaw last December, outlining how it involved not only the King but also government officials.

This was confirmed by US journalist Rob Shuter who quoted a royal insider as saying: ‘Harry wants legitimacy. He wants to operate in the UK on his own terms – meetings, charitable work, high-level engagements – without being treated as a guest in his own country.’

It would be dangerous to assume he is willing to settle for life on the edge of the Royal Family, as his uncle Andrew has been forced to do. He wants pride of place, with his wife and children beside him.

And he may well get it. However egregious and selfish his behaviour, he is protected by a natural charisma. Harry is easy to loathe but difficult to dislike. It’s little surprise that his approval rating rose six points in the last year, with 33 per cent of the British public viewing him favourably according to YouGov polling last month.

Meghan will have more difficulty in winning over the public, many of whom retain an affection for her husband despite his actions over the past five years. Last month’s poll showed around 22 per cent of respondents viewed her favourably.

But the couple have a formidable PR machine, and must hope that attitudes within the family and country will eventually change, perhaps helped by a wave of sympathy with the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death next August.

All the sympathy for now is with those who lose most by making room for the bad apples. The biggest losers are the Prince and Princess of Wales. They have done their duty while coping with Kate’s cancer diagnosis and will feel betrayed and humiliated.

The news has also undermined the other working royals. Just as Diana used to upstage Charles, Harry and Meghan’s activities are more likely to be reported than the latest charitable work by Princess Anne or Prince Edward.

Royal annals offer just one precedent. In the late 1940s, as King George VI’s health deteriorated, his older brother the Duke of Windsor, formerly King Edward VIII, harboured ambitions of a return to England.

For more than a decade, after renouncing the throne to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson, he had lived in exile abroad.

But his niece Elizabeth was regarded by many as too young and inexperienced to succeed her father. The Duke began dropping hints that he might be prepared to return to Britain and act as Regent, if needed. He gave up this conceited notion when he was told he would not have the tax free status he enjoyed in France.

It might be that, ultimately, the expense of living in the UK will drive away the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, especially if they are required to shoulder the expense of their own security arrangements, put at up to £5 million a year.

They will also face a drain on their finances if they decide not to sell their mansion in Montecito, California – or if they cannot sell it without suffering a serious loss.

As other royal troublemakers have discovered before them, being a bad apple comes at a heavy cost.

Ian Wright Criticizes Arsenal and Mikel Arteta for Dropping Gabriel Martinelli from Coventry Match Squad

0

Arsenal’s revered former player, Ian Wright, has sharply criticized the club for what he perceives as a lack of respect toward Gabriel Martinelli, who seems to be on the verge of departing from the team.

Martinelli’s omission from Mikel Arteta’s squad list during Arsenal’s 3-0 triumph over Frank Lampard’s Coventry City, marking the Premier League season’s launch, has drawn particular attention.

The talented winger, alongside teammates Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Jesus, appears to be facing an uncertain future with the Gunners, despite the team basking in last season’s stellar title victory.

Given Leandro Trossard’s recent switch to Besiktas, Martinelli’s absence from a potential starting position baffles many. At 25, Martinelli was instrumental last season, delivering 11 goals and seven assists across all competitions and maintaining a prominent role since his 2019 arrival.

Speaking with Sky Sports on Friday, Wright expressed his dismay: ‘When it comes to Martinelli and how the club is handling his situation, it’s deeply unsettling,’ he remarked.

Gabriel Martinelli should be given a chance to compete to start at Arsenal, says Ian Wright

He is 'uncomfortable' with the way the Gunners are handling Martinelli's looming exit

He is ‘uncomfortable’ with the way the Gunners are handling Martinelli’s looming exit

‘Because he always gives 100 per cent, I’m not saying he’s the greatest, he’s really come up with some big moments for Arsenal, some big games, he’s scored some very important goals.

‘The way he’s been treated at the end here, I know they might want him out, and there’s a lot of people saying, “yeah, maybe it’s time for him to move on,” but there’s ways of doing that and it should suit him as well, how he wants to leave.

‘Not being in the squad, not being spoken to, doesn’t know what’s going on, yes, I do know this, again, not being involved in the Community Shield squad, he doesn’t know what’s happening, I think he’s got a year left [on his contract].

‘If you bring Vini [Vinicius Junior] in, that kind of level in, Martinelli can say to himself, “well, okay, they’ve brought him and Tzolis, I might be third [choice],” but if you’re bringing Tzolis in, and he’s looking at Tzolis, you look at [Noni] Madueke on the other [wing], you’re thinking to yourself, “I think I can still have it with these two, I still think I’ve got something to offer here.”

‘For him to be nowhere near it, it makes me feel sad for him.

‘I’m just saying I think he’s done enough with this team, with this squad, to be treated with a little bit more respect than he’s being treated at the moment.’

Arsenal started their title defence in dominant fashion as Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard all scored to put newly promoted Coventry to the sword.

They value Martinelli around £50m but he is only willing to listen to offers from the strongest leagues.

Martinelli has been a regular with Arsenal since 2019 but they have signd Christos Tzolis

Martinelli has been a regular with Arsenal since 2019 but they have signd Christos Tzolis

It is understandable from his perspective given that he won the Premier League and reached the final of the Champions League with the Gunners last season.

Galatasaray made a £38m offer but he does not want to move to Turkey. Roma have also shown an interest.

Martinelli has been an ever-present at the Emirates over recent years after joining from Brazilian side Ituano as an 18-year-old in 2019.

Now 25, the forward has played 278 times for the club, scoring 62 goals, including 11 strikes in 53 appearances last season.

However, Martinelli struck just once in the Premier League, and of his 30 top flight appearances, only 11 were starts, with Mikel Arteta often preferring to use Eberechi Eze and Leandro Trossard on the left.

His most productive campaign was 15 league goals in 2022-23. But his time appears to be drawing to a close – he was also left out of their Community Shield final squad.

Speaking recently on what we can expect from Arsenal over the rest of the transfer window, Arteta said: ‘There is more that we want to do.

‘Because every time we have an opportunity to improve the squad and bring more quality and depth, we need to do that.

‘We’re actively trying to do so – the thing is, in the market, it doesn’t just depend on you, and we’re very clear on that.

‘The will and the desire of the club is unquestionable, but we cannot promise that we’re going to do it because it doesn’t only depend on us.’

He added: ‘For the margins to improve, there are very few players in the market that are available to do that and bring more quality to the club. But again, we’re actively looking to improve that and we’re going to try.’

Brian Hickerson Linked to Drug Use Before Panettiere’s Death

Hayden Panettiere‘s former partner, Brian Hickerson, faces allegations related to drug use just days ahead of the actress’s tragic passing at the age of 36.

Court documents accessed by People reveal that on August 21, prosecutors accused the 37-year-old Hickerson of continuing drug use amidst his bid to annul previous domestic violence charges. Notably absent from the hearing were both Hickerson and his legal counsel.

The August 13 hearing saw prosecutors contend that Hickerson’s appeal to erase two felony convictions for inflicting corporal injury on a partner should be rejected. Back in 2021, Hickerson accepted a no-contest plea during a domestic violence case involving Panettiere, resulting in a 45-day jail sentence, of which he served 13 days. He was also placed on four years of formal probation, mandated to complete 52 domestic violence classes, subject to a five-year protective order, and required to pay $500 in restitution.

At the recent hearing, the prosecution alleged that Hickerson seemed “quite high on what appears to be a stimulant,” asserting he was “very clearly not sober” during a recent interview, as reported by the outlet. The prosecutor claimed Hickerson spoke extensively about the documented abuse featured in his victim’s highly successful memoir, making several admissions about it. This follows a May interview with TMZ where Hickerson discussed Panettiere’s memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning.

Promo Hayden Panettiere Ex Brian Hickerson Inserted Himself Into Her Life Again Before Death

In the days before Panettiere’s untimely death, Brian Hickerson had reentered her life. A source disclosed to Us, “Brian was with her at the time of her death,” indicating he had become entangled with her life, even monitoring her. This aligns with an incident report from the Greenville City Police Department, which further underlines the complexities surrounding her final days.

The prosecutor also stated that Hickerson “was high and arrested at a local restaurant in West Hollywood” in August 2025.

Us confirmed that Hickerson was arrested twice within a matter of days, the first time at a bar on August 2, 2025, and again on August 6, 2025. Records show that he was cuffed at 5:14 p.m. on August 2, booked at 5:45 p.m. and released at 3:17 a.m. the following morning. On August 6, he was arrested just before 8 a.m., booked at 9:12 a.m. and released later that evening.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed to Us that charges for both arrests were “under the influence of a controlled substance.”

According to records viewed by Us, Hickerson did have a hearing on August 13, which was three days before Panettiere’s death. His expungement request was ultimately denied by a judge.

Following the hearing last week, the L.A. County D.A.’s Office told People in a statement that prosecutors opposed Hickerson’s petition “based on the individual’s Aug. 2, 2025, arrest” and what they characterized as his “continued demonstrable drug use.”

Us has reached out to Hickerson’s attorney and the prosecutor in the case for comment.

Panettiere died on Sunday, August 16. She was found unresponsive at a residence in South Carolina by Brian and his brother, Zach Hickerson. Emergency services arrived at the scene to perform “advanced cardiac life support measures,” but the actress was pronounced dead that afternoon.

Why Hayden Panettiere Hired Private Security When Ex Brian Hickerson Came Back Into Her Life

Hayden Panettiere felt compelled to set firm boundaries with ex-boyfriend Brian Hickerson in the months before her death, including taking steps to protect herself. “She helped him from time to time because he made her feel guilty, claiming he was trying to turn his life around, but couldn’t because she put him in jail,” a […]

An autopsy was completed and found “no signs of trauma that would have contributed” to Panettiere’s death, per the coroner’s office. The cause and manner of her death “remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies.”

The New York Times reported on Thursday, August 20, that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) was investigating Panettiere’s death.

Brian broke his silence on Panettiere’s death in a statement shared via his attorney Sloan Ellis.

“Hayden’s death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed,” Ellis told Us on Thursday. “As has been publicly reported, police confirmed there were no signs of foul play. Out of respect for Hayden’s loved ones and the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time.”

Justice Served: Xandria Harris Found Guilty in Heartbreaking Shooting Murder of Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic

KANKAKEE, Ill. (WLS) — In a significant development, Xandria Harris has been found guilty in a high-profile murder case involving the fatal shooting of Bradley Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic and the injury of Tyler Bailey.

Her partner, Darius Sullivan, who was determined to be the gunman, also faced conviction in connection with the case.

The courtroom was tense as Harris, clearly agitated and on edge, received the verdict. Jurors, consisting of seven women and five men, took over four hours before reaching their decision.

Upon hearing the jury declare her guilty, the 30-year-old mother of four broke into tears. She was convicted on several serious charges, including first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer.

The final arguments, scheduled for Friday, faced a delay due to the unexpected dismissal of one juror.

Harris sat through four hours of closing arguments visibly emotional and shaking at times as attorneys delivered their final arguments in a case that has drawn packed courtrooms throughout the trial. Families from both sides attended the proceedings as the case moved into the hands of the jury.

Defense attorneys argued that Harris was “cornered, conditioned, and controlled,” pointing to what they described as years of childhood abuse by her father and domestic violence during her eight-year relationship with Darius Sullivan. Lead defense attorney Cierra Norris also said the response from officers in that incident put Harris in an impossible situation, leaving her stuck in between police and her boyfriend at the time.

The defense contended that Harris’ fear for her own safety, along with Sullivan’s instructions, prevented her from complying with police at the Comfort Inn hotel on Dec. 29, 2021. Sullivan was convicted and sentenced for shooting two Bradley police officers, killing Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic and seriously injuring Officer Tyler Bailey. The encounter began after officers responded to a report of dogs left inside a vehicle.

Body camera video shown during the trial captured approximately 13 minutes of officers knocking on the door of the hotel room occupied by Harris, Sullivan and their children.

Prosecutors argued that Harris intentionally bought time for Sullivan, who had outstanding warrants for his arrest, allowing him to load a firearm before shooting the officers as Harris opened the door.

The defense challenged that account, citing a statement they say was heard on Sgt. Rittmanic’s body camera recording.

Defense attorneys referenced the quote: “I can hear him talking to her in the background telling her what to say.”

Harris testified this week that Sullivan pointed a gun at her head when the police came to their room.

Prosecutors pointed to body camera footage showing the moments after the initial gunfire, when a struggle occurred between Rittmanic and Sullivan. Prosecutors said Sullivan attempted to take the officer’s weapon after his own firearm jammed.

According to prosecutors, Harris helped Sullivan obtain that second weapon, which they said was then used to fire a second fatal shot into Rittmanic’s neck.

After Sullivan fled to Indiana, prosecutors accused Harris of taking weapons and magazines rather than her children’s clothes and toys before meeting Sullivan at his mother’s home in Indiana.

Harris now faces life in prison. She’s due back in court next month for a status hearing.

Fast-Track Belly Fat Loss After 60 with Wall Workouts

0

Discover six wall exercises from a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) that target belly overhang for those over 60.

>

You don’t need to squeeze into a crowded gym class to get an effective workout. With just a clear section of wall space, you can transform your home into a fitness hub. Standing core exercises using a wall can engage your abdominal muscles while also involving your legs and arms. This routine is designed to tackle that stubborn belly overhang commonly faced after age 60, providing a challenge you can continually build upon.

Wall exercises offer a straightforward approach to fitness. Simply standing, placing your hands on the wall, and adjusting your stance can initiate an efficient workout. These exercises allow the wall to support your movement, freeing you to concentrate on effort and intensity, without worrying about maintaining balance throughout.

Incorporating wall workouts into my clients’ fitness regimens, whether at home or in a gym environment, serves a dual purpose: making exercises more accessible while ensuring they remain sufficiently challenging. These six dynamic moves engage your core far more effectively than traditional crunches, while also recruiting the rest of your body’s muscles.

Wall Mountain Climbers

Wall mountain climbers are a great place to start because they get the workout moving right away. Your hands stay on the wall, your knees drive forward, and your abs have to keep your body from sagging. Pick a pace you can hold for the full set. If the reps start getting choppy, slow down and make the knee drive cleaner.

Muscles Trained: Abs, hip flexors, shoulders, glutes.

How to Do It

  1. Stand facing a wall.
  2. Place both hands on the wall at chest height.
  3. Step your feet back until your body leans slightly forward.
  4. Brace your core.
  5. Drive one knee toward your chest.
  6. Switch legs and continue alternating.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 2 to 3 sets of 30 to 45 seconds.

Best Variations: Slower wall mountain climbers, smaller knee drives, wall plank hold.

Form Tip: Keep your body in one strong line as your knees move.

4 Standing Exercises That Improve Balance Better Than Walking After 60

Wall Push-Up

The wall push-up adds upper-body strength without sending you to the floor. Your chest and arms press, while your abs keep your ribs from flaring and your hips from drifting. It’s also easy to scale on the spot. Step closer for an easier set, or move your feet back when the reps feel too light.

Muscles Trained: Chest, shoulders, triceps, abs.

How to Do It

  1. Stand facing a wall.
  2. Place your hands on the wall slightly wider than shoulder-width.
  3. Step your feet back a comfortable distance.
  4. Bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the wall.
  5. Press through your hands to return to the start.
  6. Repeat with control.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 15 reps.

Best Variations: Closer wall push-up, slower wall push-up, counter push-up.

Form Tip: Keep your ribs down so your lower back doesn’t arch.

Wall Sit March

Speaking from experience, this one usually feels tougher than people expect. The wall sit puts steady pressure through the thighs, then the march makes your core work to keep your hips level. A higher wall sit is plenty at first. The point is to make your legs work while your midsection stays quiet and controlled.

Muscles Trained: Quads, glutes, abs, hip flexors.

How to Do It

  1. Stand with your back against a wall.
  2. Walk your feet a short step forward.
  3. Slide down into a comfortable wall sit.
  4. Brace your core.
  5. Lift one foot a few inches off the floor.
  6. Lower it and switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 2 to 3 sets of 20 to 30 seconds.

Best Variations: Higher wall sit march, wall sit hold, wall sit heel lift.

Form Tip: Keep the march small enough that your hips stay level.

6 Daily Exercises Men Over 60 Need to Keep Their Legs Strong

Wall Plank Shoulder Tap

A shoulder tap turns a wall plank into more of a core challenge. Each time one hand leaves the wall, your body wants to shift. Your intent needs to be focused on keeping the hips steady and placing the hand back down without rushing. Slow reps work better here than fast taps that turn into a wobble.

Muscles Trained: Abs, shoulders, chest, upper back.

How to Do It

  1. Stand facing a wall.
  2. Place both hands on the wall at shoulder height.
  3. Step your feet back until your body forms a straight line.
  4. Brace your core.
  5. Lift one hand and tap the opposite shoulder.
  6. Place your hand back on the wall and switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 12 taps per side.

Best Variations: Wall plank hold, slower shoulder taps, counter shoulder taps.

Form Tip: Keep your hips still as each hand lifts.
