Lisa Barlow revisited her complicated history with Heather Gay during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, including the apology Heather offered over their conflict on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.
Heather, 52, was accused of launching what appeared to be several unprovoked jabs at Lisa. During the interview, the 51-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star explained why she chose to accept Heather’s apology, opened up about an unseen conversation with Whitney Rose, 39, during season seven, and reflected on Robert Cosby Jr.‘s homegoing service. Lisa also weighed in on Meredith Marks‘ facelift, Britani Bateman‘s status with Jared Osmond, 55, and several other RHOSLC storylines.
Lisa said on WWHL that the loss of Robert Jr. changed her perspective and helped shape her decision to move forward with Heather.
“I accepted Heather’s apology because, after everything that happened with Robert Jr., I really needed some peace and a break,” Lisa explained. “You’ll see there are still other bumps along the way, but at that moment, I had enjoyed my time on Girls Trip and wanted to leave things there.”
Lisa also described Heather’s new boyfriend, Tripp, as “so nice,” though she joked that he was not quite as “sexy” as her husband, John Barlow, 50. Turning to Whitney’s apology, Lisa acknowledged that she still has a “soft spot” for her longtime co-star.
“I saw it as a beginning,” Lisa said of Whitney’s apology. She explained that viewers did not see the full extent of their off-camera exchange, which she described as much more direct. “I told Whitney, ‘I’m out of grace right now. This is it for me.’”
The two women ultimately agreed to return to the conversation later, Lisa said, adding that she hoped the remaining discussion would appear on the show because “a lot had to be dealt with.”
Lisa also reflected on the homegoing service that Mary Cosby, 53, held for her son, who died in February following a drug overdose. She called the gathering the “most impactful service” she had ever attended.
“Grief is incredibly difficult,” Lisa said, noting that Mary and her family transformed the service into a celebration of Robert Jr.’s life. She was especially moved by seeing Mary and Robert Cosby Sr. together, saying the couple appeared deeply in love, happy and supportive of one another.
Discussing Meredith Marks‘ facelift, Lisa insisted that Meredith had never needed cosmetic work. “She was already so beautiful—absolutely stunning—and she still looks stunning,” Lisa said.
When asked about Britani Bateman and Jared Osmond, Lisa disputed the idea that the pair had permanently called it quits.
“I just saw Jared, and he is completely with her,” Lisa revealed.
Lisa was also asked about Bronwyn Newport‘s romantic life. Although she admitted she had not been closely following the situation, she spoke warmly about Bronwyn’s former partner, Brandon Good, 32, calling him “adorable,” “cute” and one of the nicest people she had met.
After joking that Angie Katsanevas‘ hair was only a “six” and suggesting it was not her natural hair, Lisa addressed questions about Ashley Quai‘s husband frequently working in Florida despite Ashley seemingly being unaware of what he does there.
Lisa speculated that Ashley, who works in marketing, likely knows more than she chooses to reveal. “I think he retired from one job and moved on to something else,” Lisa said. “She probably just doesn’t want to discuss the details. It may simply be business privacy.”
During the WWHL: After Show, Lisa was asked whether she regretted posting a happy photo with John shortly after news broke that Whitney and Angie had split from Justin Rose, 58, and Shawn Trujillo, 55.
Lisa denied that the image was intended as a reaction to either breakup. “It had nothing to do with anyone in my cast,” she said, explaining that the tequila visible in the photo related to a business venture she shares with John. “John is my partner in life, in business and in parenting—he’s my partner in everything. To me, it was simply a post. I never connected it to them. Once they saw other things online, they assumed it was about them, but it wasn’t.”
