Katie Holmes seems to approve of the idea that she and Joshua Jackson would make a great couple, at least according to fans.
In a recent Instagram post, Holmes shared a snapshot from her new movie “Happy Hours,” where she stars alongside Jackson, her former “Dawson’s Creek” co-star. The photo highlighted a warm moment between the two, sparking nostalgia and speculation.
Holmes expressed her excitement about the film’s debut at the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival in June. “We are so thrilled to be a part of the Tribeca Film Festival this June with our film ‘Happy Hours.’ So many beautiful people worked on this project. And working with Josh again was a dream,” she captioned the April 16 post. Interestingly, she also hit the “like” button on fans’ comments wishing the photo was a “hard launch” of a real-life relationship and suggesting they “should be a couple.”
The post drew a flurry of similar sentiments from fans. One enthusiastically commented, “This is the marriage that should have happened in real life 😍🥰😍,” while another implored, “Please get married in real life and heal our millennial hearts💖.”
It wasn’t just fans who were captivated by Holmes and Jackson’s onscreen chemistry. Kimberly Van Der Beek, the widow of James Van Der Beek, who passed away in February after battling colon cancer, showed her support with a string of heart emojis: “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love this.”
Rebecca Gayheart added, “Seeing you two together in this photo makes me happy ❤️”
Reps for Holmes and Jackson did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on Tuesday.
Holmes and Jackson, both 47, starred in the beloved WB series from 1998 to 2003 as onscreen couple Pacey Witter and Joey Potter.
The former couple — who posed for photographers during a red carpet reunion in New York City last week — dated from 1998 to 1999 while filming the beloved series.
Holmes went on to marry Hollywood legend Tom Cruise in 2006, several months after welcoming their daughter Suri Cruise, now 20.
The pair divorced in 2012, and Holmes has since been linked to Jamie Foxx, Emilio Vitolo Jr. and Bobby Wooten III.
Jackson, meanwhile, dated model Diane Kruger from 2006 to 2016, and eventually married Jodie-Turner Smith — with whom he shares daughter Juno, 6 — in 2018. The former couple finalized their divorce last May.
Jackson previously addressed his current relationship with Holmes while discussing Van Der Beek’s cancer diagnosis.
“Busy [Philipps] and Michelle [Williams] are very, very close. And Katie and I are very close,” he said during an April 2025 appearance on the “Dinner’s on Me” podcast.
“It’s not a daily call,” he said of his connections with his former co-stars. “Sometimes it’s not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call. But when you’re together, A, there’s always that I know you know.”
“And B, there is, you know, these moments, like, these major moments in life are, other than your husband, there’s probably no other people in your life that you are that forged to,” he added.
“Because you had to go through good and bad and happy and f–k you and don’t talk to me and I love you.”
Prior to that, Holmes included Jackson in comments about her former “Dawson’s Creek” co-stars, telling the Sunday Times in 2024 that “everyone’s grown up and is busy, but the bond will forever be there.”
