Savannah Guthrie Renews Plea 9 Months After Mom Nancy’s Disappearance

Today coanchor Savannah Guthrie is making another emotional appeal for information as the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues nine months after her unexplained disappearance.

“Found this old drawing from my daughter today,” Savannah, 54, wrote on Instagram Sunday, November 1. Her post included a child’s drawing of a rainstorm and an umbrella, accompanied by the words, “I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.” The morning show anchor also shared a throwback image of her mother smiling at the camera.

“The world goes on, things appear ‘normal’ — as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids — but it’s not and it never will be,” Savannah wrote in the emotional caption. “For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom’s beloved grandchildren; we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know.”

She continued, “Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us.”

Savannah Guthrie Releases New Video Amid Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance: ‘Do the Right Thing Now’

Savannah Guthrie continues to publicly appeal for help bringing her mother, Nancy Guthrie, home after the 84-year-old was abducted from her Arizona residence. “I’m coming on today with a very specific message,” Savannah, 54, said in an Instagram video posted Monday, July 27. “It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our […]

Nancy, 84, was last seen on January 31 and reported missing the following day after she did not attend a virtual church service. Video from a camera at her front door showed a masked man apparently trying to enter the home, but investigators had not identified any suspects at the time of publication. After the suspected abduction, the Guthrie family received multiple ransom notes demanding money in exchange for Nancy. Investigators believe some of the messages may be authentic.

“There are a lot of different notes, I think that came,” Guthrie told her friend and former Today cohost Hoda Kotb during a March interview. “But I believe the two notes that we received that we responded to, I tend to believe those were real.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department provided an update Friday, October 30, saying investigators still have zero suspects in the case involving Nancy’s disappearance.

“The Nancy Guthrie Task Force continues to work with our labs in hopes of furthering our DNA analysis in this investigation,” the department said in a statement shared on its official X account. “Earlier this month investigators traveled to Florida to meet with lab scientists to see what more could be done to advance the case.”

The statement added, “A number of ideas were discussed, and we continue to work with all of our partners to solve this case.”

Authorities also asked members of the public to assist by reporting any information that could be connected to the unsolved investigation.

Savannah Guthrie is set to offer additional insight into her mother Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance in a new interview more than 50 days after the 84-year-old went missing. During the Wednesday, March 25, episode of the Today show, host Craig Melvin introduced a preview of Savannah’s forthcoming conversation with Hoda Kotb, her first interview about […]

“We want to remind the public that no tip is too small. Even the smallest piece of information could be critical to this investigation,” the department said. “If you know something, please call 88-CRIME or 1-800-CALL-FBI.”

Guthrie has returned to the Today show after taking several weeks away following her mother’s disappearance. Since then, she has made repeated, heartfelt appeals for Nancy’s safe return. The family is also offering a $1 million reward for information leading to her discovery.

Savannah closed Sunday’s post by expressing gratitude to everyone who has supported her family throughout the ordeal.

“Thank you to all those who have been kind and shown the best of humanity,” she wrote. “Join us in praying without ceasing.”
