In a recent chat with Marie Claire, Stassi Schroeder, formerly of “Vanderpump Rules,” opened up about a long-standing rift with fellow cast member Katie Maloney. According to Schroeder, the two experienced a significant falling out behind the scenes for several years.
“No one knows,” Schroeder confided to the publication, adding that they are now working on mending their friendship after pursuing distinctly separate paths.
Schroeder shared that her upcoming show, “House of Stassi,” will delve into the natural ebb and flow of friendships, shedding light on these dynamics.
“I don’t see many TV shows exploring the reality of reaching a certain age, choosing different life directions, and the impact on friendships, followed by the journey to reconnect,” she hinted.
During her time on “Vanderpump Rules,” Schroeder was a prominent figure for the first eight seasons, while Maloney continued her role as a main cast member through 11 seasons.
During her time on the show, Schroeder saw ups and downs in her friendships with not just Maloney but with other cast members as well, including Kristen Doute and Scheana Shay.
Viewers also saw her move on from ex-boyfriend Jax Taylor to finding her happily ever after with husband Beau Clark, whom she wed in September 2020.
The couple have since welcomed two children: daughter Hartford, 5, and son Messer, 2.
Elsewhere during her Marie Claire interview, Schroeder promised fans they will see a new side of her — having left her “it’s my f–king birthday” and “bossy Stassi” days behind her for good.
“The last time people saw me, I was this crazy girl…crashing out, dark passengering,” she said. “I work really hard. I try really hard and I’m constantly trying to build the most for my family, and I’m proud of what I’ve done in the last five years.”
“I still crash out,” she reassured them. “It just looks different.”
Schroder also addressed how she has grown over the years following her cancellation after her treatment of “Vanderpump Rules” castmate Faith Stowers, the only black cast member on the show, and past racist comments came to light, resulting in the loss of brand sponsorships and her being dropped by her PR company.
“There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about the canceling,” she told the magazine. “I will live with this for the rest of my life.”
“If I were still in ‘Vanderpump Rules,’ I’d probably be the same person,” she added. “This time away from reality TV has shaped who I am now.”
Despite a bombshell season which included all the fallout from Scandoval the previous season, Bravo opted to axe the entire “Vanderpump Rules” cast and reboot the show with fresh faces for season 12.
“House of Stassi” premieres July 29 on Hulu.
