Elizabeth Lail is an American actress who rose to fame for playing Anna’s role in ABC’s Once Upon a Time in 2014. She is also recognized for playing the main role of Guinevere Beck in the first season of a Netflix thriller called You in 2018. Elizabeth even gained more popularity for playing the role of Jenny Banks in an NBC drama series called Ordinary Joe from 2021 to 2022. Her main role on YOU even earned her the Best Actress Saturn Award nomination back in 2019.
Lail was born in Williamson County Texas but grew up in Asheboro, North Carolina. She was a very quiet and timid little girl who participated in various talent shows and pageants. Lail attended and graduated from Asheboro High school in her hometown. She performed very well and proceeded to college. From there, Elizabeth graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theatre from the University of North Carolina School of Arts. in 2014
Lail began her acting career while she was still in college and living in North Carolina. She participated in popular student short films like Model, Without and Airplane. Elizabeth then decided to move to New York City to further her career in acting. This is where she auditioned for ABC’s One Upon a Time. She was able to impress the judges and producers and landed the role of Anna. Anna then became her debut and breakthrough role. In 2016, Lail starred in the famous 2016 horror series called Dead of Summer. She landed her Gunevieere role on You back in 2017 and the series was officially released in 2018. Lail stared alongside Ambyr Childers, Penn Badgley, Carmela Zumbado, Victoria Pedreeti and an ensemble cast.
