GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities in Gainesville are currently delving into a tragic homicide that unfolded last night within the Phoenix neighborhood, located on the 3100 block of SW 26th Way.

On the evening of May 1, around 10:00 p.m., officers were dispatched following reports of gunfire in the vicinity. Shortly thereafter, an adult male, who had sustained a gunshot wound, was brought to a nearby hospital. Initial investigations suggest that the incident took place in the Phoenix neighborhood. Sadly, the victim later passed away due to his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are calling on the community to assist in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this incident.
