Joy Behar has made her feelings clear about New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart’s recent appearance at a rally with former President Donald Trump. The co-host of “The View” did not hold back, expressing her disapproval of Dart’s association with Trump, especially considering the NFL’s diverse player base.
On the May 26 episode of “The View,” Behar, 83, criticized Dart’s decision to align himself with Trump, citing the former president’s controversial history. “To support someone like Trump, who has a long history of discrimination and racist actions, from housing discrimination in the ’70s to attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion, is simply baffling,” she remarked. “It’s even more troubling when you consider that a significant portion of the NFL is composed of Black athletes. To me, it’s the height of ignorance and racism.”
Prior to Memorial Day weekend on May 22, the 23-year-old quarterback attended a rally that had the air of a campaign event, supporting Republican Congressman Mike Lawler. Lawler is currently facing a challenging reelection battle in a swing district. Dart had the honor of introducing Trump before the former president took the stage, expressing his excitement at the opportunity.
Meanwhile, in another segment of “The View,” Behar shared her thoughts on pop culture, showing her allegiance as a devoted Taylor Swift fan. However, she wasn’t so supportive of Swift’s rumored relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce. During the November 19 episode, Behar and her co-hosts delved into Kelce’s past, discussing some of his tweets from 2010 and 2011, which have resurfaced, sparking conversations and mixed reactions.
“What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here,” Dart said. “Without further ado, I’m grateful, I’m honored, I’m pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump.”
While The View’s Whoopi Goldberg reminded viewers that he’s “entitled” to have his opinion, Sara Haines said the NFL player should be prepared for the consequences.
“We can all have our belief, I get that,” she said. “But there would be consequences. You’re the quarterback, which is a central player on the team.”
Sunny Hostin added, “This was a choice and it was a political one. We’re just not in normal times anymore.”

Although Alyssa Farah Griffin was quick to call the moment an example of freedom of speech, she understood why some people were not happy with the athlete’s decision.
“He has every right to endorse the president and his teammates have every right to criticize him for endorsing the president,” she said, “which is what ended up happening.”
New York Giants linebacker and fellow 2025 first-round pick Abdul Carter spoke out in a since-deleted X post writing, “Though this s*** was AI, what we doing man?”
Us Weekly has reached out to Dart’s team for comment.
One person who was grateful to have Dart attend the event was Trump himself. During his speech, the president praised the “beautiful guy” with “legs like tree trunks.”
“This is going to be a future Hall of Famer in my book,” Trump said. “Thank you, thank you Jaxson. Lot of talent.”
