FBI Announces Reward in Urgent Manhunt for Georgia Murder Suspect at Large

In a bold jail escape that has captured national attention, Pablo Zuriel Miranda managed to break free from the Atkinson County jail early Sunday morning. In response, the FBI is incentivizing the manhunt by offering a reward that could reach $10,000 for any leads that result in his arrest.

ATKINSON COUNTY, Ga. — A thrilling chase is underway in Southeast Georgia as the FBI launches a search for a murder suspect who eluded the confines of jail. With a federal warrant out for his arrest, law enforcement is eager to hear from anyone who can help return him to custody.

According to officials, 34-year-old Pablo Zuriel Miranda made his daring escape from the Atkinson County jail in Pearson, Georgia, just west of Waycross, this past Sunday morning. Detained on charges of murder and aggravated assault since his May 2024 arrest, Miranda was awaiting trial when he decided to make a run for it, jail records reveal.

Following his escape, a federal warrant has been swiftly issued, citing unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, amplifying efforts to capture him.

Officials suspect that Miranda, originally from Mexico, might be planning a cross-border escape back to his birth country, complicating the search as they work to close in on his location.

The FBI announced Monday it is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to Miranda’s recapture. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI. Tips can be submitted online at tips.fbi.gov or through your local FBI office.

The agency said he should be considered armed and dangerous; do not approach him.
