Andrew McCullough, 32, is a contestant on the inaugural season of The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down on CBC and CBC Gem. Award-winning artist and ceramics instructor Brendan Tang and renowned ceramicist and educator Natalie Waddell serve as judges.

He revealed the news on Instagram, writing: “I’m so excited to finally share that I’m going to be competing on the VERY FIRST SEASON of our very own @canadianpotteryshow , The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down!

“Quite honestly, as a huge fan of the original British show since its first season, this has been a dream come true. It is so exciting that the world will get to see some of the amazing ceramic talent here in our big and beautiful country.”

Speaking about the possibility of winning The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down, Andrew said: “I have the flexibility to adapt to the challenges, the stories to bring pieces to life, the wherewithal to push through, and the honest and romantic love for the art form.”

The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down contestants are Kiefer Floreal, Alice Gibson, Thomas Haskell, Susan Johnston, Renu Mathew, Andrew McCullough, Jen Sonnenberg, Jackie Talmey-Lennon, Elsa Valinas and Michael Wood.
