Tom Brady and Logan Paul’s Feud Intensifies with a Surprising Encounter

0

Tom Brady and Logan Paul reignited their simmering rivalry with an explosive encounter at Fanatics Fest on Friday night, a spectacle that follows months of speculation about a potential WWE showdown between the two.

Captured on video by the Daily Mail, the confrontation began with Brady and Paul exchanging fiery words at the glamorous New York City gathering, culminating in the NFL icon losing his composure.

In a dramatic turn, Brady smacked Paul on the head, prompting NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns and a vigilant security guard to swiftly step in and separate the two.

Even after the physical altercation, Paul, a prominent WWE figure, was visibly agitated, emphatically gesturing toward Brady as Towns attempted to defuse the tension.

Prior to this fiery face-off, Brady and Paul had already clashed verbally, revisiting contentious issues from their previous encounter at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic event held earlier in the year.

They had a couple of run-ins on the field that day, but it was the online personality who had the last laugh after his Wildcats FFC team defeated Brady’s Founders FFC.

‘It’s just nuts to me how Tom Brady couldn’t come back from us winning the flag football game that he said he was going to beat me,’ Paul said while sitting on the same panel as the seven-time Super Bowl winner at Fanatics Fest.

‘I just want to say it… never forget. Never forget the YouTuber beat the football player.’

‘There were a lot of cheap shots in that game too,’ Brady responded.

After the viral slap, Paul posted on X: ‘This happened bc I was roasting Tom for beating him in flag football. And he tries to smack me ?? Horrible example for the kids Aura -100 + Blocked. With a torn tricep’.

Brady quoted his post and wrote: ‘I tried America… will try again next time I see this nerd.’

Brady became embroiled in a shocking beef with Paul after he mocked the wrestler’s athletic ability during a guest appearance on his ‘Impaulsive’ podcast in February. He dismissed Paul’s athlete chops as ‘cute’ while claiming he lacks the toughness of football players.

In response, Paul argued that he could beat the majority of NFL athletes in a fight – a statement which sparked fierce debate – before they ramped up their rivalry at the flag football event.

Many have questioned how real Paul and Brady’s apparent disdain for one another is, instead rubbishing it as an attempt to generate attention.

The Daily Mail revealed back in March that, according to an insider, Paul and Brady are only playing on the feud to promote a potential WWE storyline.

The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was expected to appear at WrestleMania earlier this year, only to not show up at the wrestling company’s showpiece event.

Yet on Thursday, Brady revealed he is waiting for WWE president Nick Khan to give him a call about making an appearance.

He said at Fanatics Fest: ‘I feel like, I’m retired from football, have the opportunity to go out there and showcase that I’m still a little bit of an athlete. My boy Gronk’s done it, I’ve seen Logan Paul do it. I think I could get in there for at least one match, right?’

Brady has been keeping himself busy since retiring from the NFL in 2023. He is preparing to enter the third year of his decade-long, $375million contract with Fox after venturing into broadcasting for the league.

Shortly after joining Fox, he also became an NFL owner in highly controversial fashion. His deal to acquire a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders sparked uproar in 2024 over what many argued was a conflict of interest amid his commentary role.

When asked if he’d want to be a good guy or a ‘heel’ in the wrestling world, Brady insisted: ‘It’s such an easy choice. I’m a bad guy. I’ve always been a bad guy.

‘I mean, I feel like when our teams did really well, I would always go into these stadiums and I would feel that… When you go on the road and you’ve had some success in the NFL, they don’t like you. It’s an incredible feeling when you work that entire day to basically try to send the crowd home early.’

Ukrainian Protests Erupt Following Controversial Military Dismissal

0

At the age of 35, Mykhailo Fedorov broke records by becoming Ukraine’s youngest-ever defense minister. A mere six months later, his sudden dismissal has ignited widespread protests throughout the nation.

This former tech mogul’s ousting is part of a surprising government reshuffle orchestrated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which included the unexpected removal of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

Many see Fedorov’s departure as a result of internal strife within Ukraine’s military hierarchy, primarily between him and Oleksandr Syrsky, the commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s armed forces.

During his tenure, Fedorov led the defense ministry at a critical time when Ukraine managed to regain ground against Russian forces on the battlefield.

He revealed that he turned down President Zelenskyy’s offer to remain as an adviser, as he was not invited to be part of the new government.

Yevgeniy Khmara, head of Ukraine’s SBU security service, has been appointed acting defence minister.

Who is Mykhailo Fedorov?

Fedorov had a reputation as a young, innovative moderniser who sought to reform the Ukrainian military. He has championed the use of advanced technology to fend off Russian attacks, becoming the public face of the country’s popular drone program.

Before becoming defence minister, he served as Ukraine’s minister of digital transformation and a close technology adviser to Zelenskyy.

He was the last remaining minister to have held positions in all of Zelenskyy’s governments, having stayed close to the president since his election in 2019.

His supporters credited him with helping to slow Russia’s advances this year, in part through his push to ramp up long-range drone strikes, cut bureaucracy, and use a data-driven approach to the war effort.

Protesters holding signs.

He also boosted military salaries and, before becoming defence minister, introduced computer game-like reward systems that allowed drone teams to earn rewards for striking Russian targets.

Earlier this year, Fedorov, who has close ties to Silicon Valley executives, negotiated an agreement with billionaire Elon Musk that saw Russia lose access to the Starlink satellite internet service on the battlefield.

Ukraine made its largest territorial gains in years following the agreement.

Why was Fedorov replaced?

Fedorov’s push to modernise the military was rumoured to have caused friction with parts of the establishment.

Speaking to reporters following the reshuffle this week, both Fedorov and Zelenskyy effectively confirmed those suspicions.

Fedorov said he had a dispute with Syrsky, accusing the army chief of blocking the defence ministry’s initiatives and dividing the country.

He criticised slow bureaucracy and a lack of flexibility, questioning whether Ukraine could defeat Russia with Syrsky in charge of the army.

Speaking from Kyiv, Zelenskyy said he expected the defence ministry and military leaders to work with greater unity, acknowledging there had been “systemic” conflicts between them.

“A president in wartime should not have to choose in such a situation, honestly,” he said, accompanied by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

“I would very much like unity.”

In a message on Telegram, Syrsky said he would continue to “focus on the war” and wished Fedorov “continued success”.

Why were people protesting?

Thousands of protesters demonstrated in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities after Federov’s dismissal, carrying signs and singing the Ukrainian national anthem.

“We saw results from his tenure, when strikes were effectively carried out against targets in Russia,” protester Viktoriia Osypenko, 24, told the Agence France-Presse news agency.

Vlada Roman, a 30-year-old business owner, said the “dismissal is a slap in the face of the Ukrainian people”, accusing Zelenskyy of being “afraid of effective people”.

A large crowd of protesters in a park area outside a government building.

She said she hoped the president would reverse the decision after the demonstrations.

The deputy commander of Ukraine’s air force, Pavlo Yelizarov, also resigned in solidarity.

“It is a great honour for me to work with Mykhailo Fedorov. In 2022, I joined the defence forces to win, not to pretend to be doing something,” he said in his resignation statement.

Why California Should Rethink Parole for Violent Offenders

0

California’s lenient approach to crime continues to spark controversy, but a newly filed lawsuit by a victims’ rights organization is aiming to halt these reforms.

The Criminal Justice Legal Foundation has initiated legal action against the California Board of Parole Hearings. The lawsuit challenges regulations that could potentially ease the path to early release for some of the state’s most notorious criminals.

This pushback is warranted. Proposed changes by the parole board could see some of California’s most violent offenders, who are serving life sentences, gain their freedom sooner than expected.

According to the foundation and its supporters within law enforcement, the revised rules could allow thousands of inmates—convicted of crimes like murder, torture, and offenses against children—to become eligible for early parole.

Is there truly any rational, law-abiding Californian who desires such an outcome?

How many more victims would fall prey to these thousands of felons, should some be released?

Among the convicts potentially eligible to walk are some serving “life without the possibility of parole,” the foundation says.

So the crimes were so egregious that a court determined the offenders should be confined for life, and the state parole board might say, in effect, “never mind, we know better than the judge and jury”?

That’s galling.

It would also be a gut punch to victims, and a broken promise to society, to free heinous criminals who –– we all were promised –– would be safely locked away for life.

The legal foundation says the parole board exceeded its authority by making such a sweeping change to the state’s legal system without either legislative or voter assent.

Good point.

State officials wouldn’t dare put this scheme before voters, and even soft-on-crime legislators might not go this far.

So an unelected board issues regulations while the left moans about prison crowding.

But if prisons are packed to bursting, that argues for more prison space –– not the wanton release of felons who probably, based on recidivism rates, will go find new victims.

This move at its core is not about prison crowding, or the pursuit of justice, or “evidence-based policies,” as Gov. Gavin Newsom put it.

And it’s certainly not about public safety.

The culprit, as ever, is probably ideology.

These days, it’s en vogue on the far left to treat criminals as victims. The idea: Those who harm others are somehow deserving of compassion, leniency and, for those with long rap sheets, 57th (or so) chances.

Also: The entire 21-member parole board is composed of appointees of Democrat Govs. Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom.

There was a time when public safety transcended party and ideology, when both parties saw the sense in locking up the worst offenders and keeping them caged where they can’t hurt innocents.

No longer. From defund the police to no jail for thieves to early prison releases for felons, many on the left are now, for all intents and purposes, pro-criminal.

So good for the Criminal Justice Legal Foundation.

Someone needs to stand up for victims and innocents while the parole board and governor ease up on the perps.

True public safety comes from law and order. Not from leniency, misplaced compassion and far-left wishful thinking.

Netflix’s Huge Investment Unveiled in Ben Affleck’s AI Startup

0

Earlier this year in March, Netflix made waves by purchasing Ben Affleck’s artificial intelligence start-up, InterPositive. The astonishing figure of this transaction has now come to light.

In a recent Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) disclosure, Netflix revealed that it shelled out $587 million in cash for the acquisition, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The details emerged from the company’s 10-Q filing, indicating that ‘in March 2026, the Company finalized an acquisition, recognized as a business combination with a total purchase price just shy of $587 million, fully paid in cash.’

While the filing stops short of directly naming InterPositive, the acquisition by Netflix was announced on March 5.

The significant expenditure was also documented in the company’s first-quarter 10-Q, completed in May.

In a statement earlier this year, Affleck said he ‘couldn’t be happier’ with the deal after quietly founding the LA-based company in 2022 with a 16-person team of engineers, researchers and creatives.

An insider had previously told Bloomberg in March that the movie star-turned-senior adviser and his investors would earn up to $600 million from the streaming giant as long as it met ‘certain performance targets.’

‘InterPositive is a tool that’s designed to solve the specific problems that I’d encountered as a filmmaker that connect you more to the filmmaking,’ Affleck detailed in a Netflix video this past spring.

‘It’s not about text prompting or generating something from nothing. You’re building a model from your own material.

‘That’s how this works. You have to create your movie, essentially, first before you can really build your model around your movie using AI.’

He explained he wanted to ‘take out all the logistical, difficult, technical stuff that often gets in the way.’

‘You can use your own model to remove the wires on stunts, reframe a shot, get a shot you missed, shape the lighting, enhance the backgrounds,’ the Oscar-winning star said.

‘If you can take some of those problems out, yes, you can do it more quickly, you can do it more easily, you’re giving more choice, you’re giving more opportunity, you’re getting more episodes of your favorite shows, you’re getting more human work,’ he stated emphatically.

Affleck emphasized that the goal was ‘to preserve what makes storytelling human’ and vowed that he and the streamer would do so, based on their shared ‘values’ and Netflix’s ‘responsibility with applying and scaling technology.’

Earlier this year, Affleck starred in the Netflix crime/thriller The Rip, which he produced and acted in alongside longtime best friend and collaborator Matt Damon.

The Joe Carnahan-directed movie is about Miami cops who seize millions of dollars.

Affleck and Damon first gained notoriety in cinema with their 1997 movie Good Will Hunting, which earned them an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

The father of three, who was previously married to Jennifer Garner and later Jennifer Lopez, also scored a Best Picture Academy Award in 2012 as a producer for Argo.

Brittany Cartwright Speaks Out on Jax Taylor’s Relationship with Lori Krebs

Brittany Cartwright is breaking her silence regarding her estranged husband Jax Taylor and his relationship with their former publicist, Lori Krebs.

During a recent interview with Zack Wickham on the “When Reality Hits” podcast, Brittany, 37, hinted that she plans to disclose her side of the story when she’s good and ready. The discussion aired on Friday, July 17, and fans were eager for her take.

“Right now, all I can say is that I will share my truth — the real truth — when the time feels right for me,” Brittany remarked. “At present, my focus is on myself and the most precious thing in my life, my wonderful son. My priority is to safeguard my son and maintain my peace, but rest assured, I will soon be recounting [my experience].”

The Valley star alluded to the evolving situation, adding, “I think everyone has a pretty good idea of what’s happening.”

Brittany Cartwright Had Suspicions About Jax Taylor and Lori Krebs for Years

Reports have emerged suggesting that Brittany Cartwright, known for her role in The Valley, was taken aback when recent images surfaced of Jax Taylor appearing close with Lori Krebs. An insider claims Brittany had long harbored doubts about whether Jax and Lori’s professional relationship had crossed into something more. “Brittany had her suspicions for years but […]

Jax, 47, was married to Brittany for five years before they separated in 2024. They share 5-year-old son Cruz.

Us Weekly exclusively confirmed earlier this month that Lori was recently spotted with Jax in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to celebrate his birthday. An eyewitness claimed that the duo packed on the PDA at the Hotel Mousai pool one day and told individuals that they were both “happily divorced.”

An insider told Us earlier this week that Brittany was caught off-guard by the photos. According to the source, Brittany questioned for years whether there was more than a professional relationship and friendship between the two.

“Brittany had her suspicions for years but always trusted that Lori had her best interest at heart and believed she wouldn’t do such a thing,” a source exclusively told Us of Brittany. “There were rumors about them for years and Brittany always brushed them off. She always had Lori’s back and trusted her. They were very good friends and did not have a typical professional relationship.”

The insider told Us that Brittany felt “extremely betrayed” over the surprise romance and Jax and Lori’s PDA pictures.

Jax Taylor Photographed Looking Cozy With Publicist Who No Longer Reps His Ex Brittany Cartwright

Former Vanderpump Rules star Jax Taylor has been spotted cozying up with a publicist he once shared with his ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright. An eyewitness exclusively tells Us Weekly that Taylor, 47, and Lori Krebs were seen visiting the Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, earlier this month – and Us has exclusive photos of the […]

“It’s very upsetting to her and she is sick to her stomach over it,” the insider added. “She is shocked that photos surfaced and that they are out in public. Lori was with Brittany through dark days.”

Brittany and Jax wed in 2019 during their time on Vanderpump Rules. The former couple departed the show in 2020 before taking their marriage to The Valley in 2024. When the show’s second season aired earlier this year, fans watched Brittany and Jax’s marriage crumble.

As of April, their divorce had yet to be finalized as they were working toward amicably coparenting Cruz.

Richard Gere, 76, Stars Alongside Talented Young Actress in Upcoming Film

Richard Gere, at the age of 76, was recently seen sharing the screen in closer quarters with his youthful co-star Diana Silvers, 28, as they work on their latest romantic drama, “Asymmetry.”

Captured through the lens of a bustling New York City park on Thursday, the duo appeared deeply engaged in a riveting conversation for a scene in the upcoming film.

As they settled comfortably on a bench, Gere was seen with his arm resting behind Silvers. Embracing a relaxed yet stylish look, the “Space Force” star donned black loafers paired with a breezy, cream-hued dress adorned in a subtle leaf pattern.

Sporting his signature silver locks, the iconic “Pretty Woman” actor embodied his character’s laid-back vibe with a casual button-up shirt and jeans.

This sighting is just the latest set of visuals to surface from the production of the highly-anticipated film.

On Monday, the co-stars were photographed canoodling as their characters while recording another scene.

The pair were seen holding hands while walking through the NYC streets. At one point, Gere even wrapped his arm around Silvers’ waist, pulling her in close as she draped her arm across his shoulders.

The film is based on Lisa Halliday’s 2018 critically acclaimed novel of the same name.

The book is split into three parts — the first section, “Folly,” tells the story of Alice, who is described as “a young American editor,” and follows “her relationship with the famous and much older writer Ezra Blazer,” reads the book synopsis.

“A tender and exquisite account of an unexpected romance that takes place in New York during the early years of the Iraq War, Folly also suggests an aspiring novelist’s coming-of-age,” the description adds.

The second part of the book, titled “Madness,” is told from the perspective of Amar — an Iraqi-American man who is detained by immigration officers a holding room at London’s Heathrow Airport.

The film, however, appears to focus solely on Alice and Ezra’s fictional love story, as its logline notes that it “tells the story of a young editorial assistant in New York, Alice (Silvers), who comes upon world-renowned 70-year-old author Ezra (Gere) in Central Park one day.”

The synopsis continues: “Their one moment of eye contact sparks a connection that leads them both down a life-changing rabbit hole, where they create a private world just for two.”

“Ezra, famous for his audacious work, finds someone with whom he can be openly vulnerable, and Alice finds the courage to explore her own aspirations as a writer,” it concludes. “Until it is all put at risk when their secret relationship is exposed.”

Oscar winner Edward Zwick worked on the screenplay with Halliday and Marshall Herskovitz on the screenplay, reports Deadline. Zwick is also attached to direct and produce.

“It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with Ed and Marshall on transposing Alice and Ezra’s story for the screen. I am enormously grateful to them for their humor, ingenuity, courage, compassion and dedication,” Halliday, author and co-writer, said in a statement to the outlet.

Gere is involved in his own age-gap love story in real life with wife Alejandra Silva, 43. The couple began dating in 2014 before tying the knot in 2018. They’ve since relocated to Silva’s home country of Spain.

The couple are parents to sons Alexander and James.

The “American Gigolo” star is also dad to son Homer, 26, with his ex-wife, Carey Lowell. Silva also has a son named Albert from a previous marriage.

MEMORISE: If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. – John 8:36 (KJV)

READ: Mark 1:23-27 (KJV)

23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 12-14

Open Heaven 18 July 2026 MESSAGE

While my mother was still alive, I went to visit her on one occasion, and a man was brought to me so I could pray for him. The man told me he needed help, but when I looked at him, I could not see anything visibly wrong with him. When he saw the puzzled look on my face, he told me, “Watch.” He dug into his hair and brought out a cockroach. He said, “I’m not a magician. I’m only showing you the kind of spiritual affliction I have.” He dug his fingers into his hair again and brought out another kind of insect. Then he asked me to listen closely as he brought his arm near my ears. When he did that, I began to hear the sound of motorcycles reviving. After all these, I asked him to surrender his life to Jesus, and he did. Then, I cried to the Great Deliverer to intervene in his situation, and he left. Two weeks later, I returned to see my mother, and the man came back to see me. This time, he was rejoicing because he had been completely delivered. His skin glowed, and he looked radiant. I decree that if you are carrying any form of spiritual burden, you are set free henceforth, in Jesus’ name.

Spiritual burdens come in different forms, some of which include oppressions, addictions, suppressions, and demonic possessions. Today’s Bible reading tells us the story of a man who was possessed by a demon. When he saw Jesus in the temple, the unclean spirit in him cried out, “Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.” Immediately, Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and cast it out of the man. We do not know how long the man had been in that situation; however, when he encountered Jesus, the spiritual burden he was carrying was instantly lifted.

Beloved, are you carrying a spiritual burden? Are you battling addictions or demonic oppression? I want you to know that Jesus, the Burden Bearer, can lift that burden off your shoulders. All you need to do is honour His invitation in Matthew 11:28. I pray that the Burden Bearer will remove any form of spiritual burden that is in your life or the lives of your loved ones today, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Unprecedented Fury in Iran: Leaked Report Reveals Public Outcry Amidst Regime’s Power Struggles

0

A secretive report commissioned for the Iranian presidency has sparked significant debate in Washington and among its allies. The core question being pondered: Could the overwhelming dissatisfaction and appetite for systemic change among Iranians imply that the Islamic Republic is more susceptible to regime change than previously estimated?

The clandestine document, bearing the title “What Iran Wants,” reveals striking statistics: a mere 9% of participants wish to maintain the current setup, while 53% advocate for crucial reforms. Moreover, over 19% support a complete transformation of the political landscape.

Collectively, these numbers suggest that nearly 75% of those polled desire either a significant overhaul or a total change of the existing system. This data could reinforce the view that Iran’s political turmoil extends beyond mere discontent with specific leaders or policies.

On July 13, IranWire reported it had acquired this document, which Ali Rabiei—President Masoud Pezeshkian’s social advisor and a previous governmental spokesperson—had composed. The findings were drawn from surveys conducted by the Ara Opinion Research Center in May 2026 and subsequently distributed across the nation’s governing institutions in June, as reported by the outlet.

Miad Maleki, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told News Media that the report should prompt a fresh assessment of the potential for political upheaval inside Iran.

“If anything, this research understates the depth of Iranians’ rage,” Maleki said. “And that is what makes it remarkable: even a survey prepared for the regime’s own president, by its own pollsters, records anger levels above 63%, well beyond the highest rate Gallup has ever recorded anywhere in the world, alongside 81% struggling to put food on the table and a majority expressing hopelessness.”

Maleki cautioned that polling conducted under an authoritarian government cannot be treated as precise because respondents may fear the consequences of expressing opposition.

“In a police state where expressing the wrong opinion can cost you your job, your freedom, or your life, respondents self-censor, which means these findings are best read as a floor, not a ceiling,” he said.

Mojtaba Khamenei

The complete survey methodology was not included in the material obtained by IranWire. The report reportedly did not disclose how respondents were selected, who was questioned or whether the sample reflected Iran’s geographic and demographic makeup.

Its findings therefore cannot be independently verified or treated as definitive measurements of Iranian opinion. The report also cannot establish that dissatisfaction will translate into an organized movement capable of removing the government.

Still, its findings portray multiple pressures converging at once.

Approximately 64% of respondents reported persistent anger, up roughly 12% points from a previous government survey conducted in December 2025. Half reported hopelessness, approximately 48% reported sadness or depression and about 45% reported persistent fear or anxiety, according to IranWire.

Economic distress also appears central to the public anger.

More than 81% experienced severe or partial difficulty obtaining enough food, while 75% struggled to cover medical costs, IranWire reported. Fifty-four percent said their income did not cover current household expenses, and only 8% reported earning enough to save.

Respondents blamed domestic governance more frequently than international pressure. 46.9% cited government inefficiency as the cause of Iran’s economic problems, 26.3% blamed corruption and 20.7% cited foreign sanctions.

That finding could be especially significant to the regime-change debate because it suggests many Iranians do not primarily blame outside powers for their deteriorating living conditions.

The document also points to a crisis of institutional confidence. Roughly 60% reportedly distrusted major government institutions, while 61.2% negatively assessed officials’ ability to solve Iran’s problems. Distrust of the government, parliament, judiciary and state television remained above 50%, IranWire reported.

The report’s recommendations, however, reportedly centered on managing dissatisfaction rather than addressing demands for systemic change.

Rabiei urged state institutions to better explain the impact of sanctions, moderate the rhetoric used by officials and religious platforms, present a more inclusive image through state television and avoid policies that place the government in direct confrontation with society.

IranWire’s follow-up analysis argued that the recommendations treated Iran’s crisis primarily as a communications and public-perception problem. The report offered few concrete proposals involving institutional accountability, political liberalization or fundamental economic reform, according to the outlet.

Maleki said the findings were consistent with the expanding scale of unrest, citing demonstrations that spread from more than 80 cities in 2017 to more than 200 cities across all 31 provinces this year, alongside what he described as a quadrupling of strikes.

“Iranians have moved from being skeptical of what another revolution might bring to concluding there is no alternative to one, because reform has proven impossible,” Maleki said.

Yet the report does not resolve one of the largest obstacles to regime change: The Islamic Republic has spent decades building institutions designed to monitor, deter and violently suppress organized opposition.

“This regime was born of revolution, by revolutionaries,” Maleki said. “Preventing and crushing the next one is the one thing they genuinely know how to do.”

He nevertheless argued that further unrest was inevitable.

“So the discontent will translate into renewed protest,” Maleki said. “The question is not if, but when, and whether anyone is prepared to stand with the Iranian people when it does.”

Luke Weaver Remains Focused Amidst Potential Mets Trade Talks

0

PHILADELPHIA — As the MLB trade deadline of August 3 fast approaches, whispers abound about the future of many players. While several ball clubs are contemplating retaining their key pieces, the New York Mets seem to be bucking the trend. Despite kicking off the second half of their season with a victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, the Mets are strongly considering selling off some of their assets.

Among the players likely to be affected is Luke Weaver, a significant figure rumored to be on the trading block. Though conscious that his tenure with the Mets may be drawing to a close, Weaver remains hopeful of continuing with the team that brought him on board with a two-year contract during the last offseason.

“I signed up to give my all here for two years,” Weaver shared before Thursday night’s triumph, a game where he surrendered his first earned run since April. His commitment to the Mets remains unwavering, as long as the team shares his vision for the future.

“I aim to contribute to this organization in any way possible,” Weaver continued. “If they find value in me and trust my abilities, that’s incredible. Still, I get how this game plays out. Having been through similar scenarios, I feel mentally ready, based on experience. However, it’s not something dominating my thoughts right now.”

DCLM Daily Manna 18 July 2026 — Christian Persecution

DCLM Daily Manna 18 July 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Christian Persecution

TOPIC: Christian Persecution (DCLM Daily Manna 18 July 2026)

KEY VERSE: And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles – Acts 8:1)

TEXT: Acts 8:1-4 (KJV)

1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

On its website, Open Doors International, the Christian organisation, published its report on persecution of believers in 2024. The report showed that 4,476 Christians were murdered, 7,679 churches and Christian properties attacked and 4,744 Christians imprisoned across the globe. “In Open Doors’ World Watch List top 50 alone, 310 million Christians face very high or extreme levels of persecutions and discriminations for their faith”, the report said. Christian persecution is real in our world today.

The early Church also faced persecution as we read from today’s Bible passage. The horrible death of Stephen by public stoning in Acts 7 triggered a wave of serious persecutions led by Saul. While the church was mourning over the death of the young preacher, Saul “…made havok of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison” (Acts 8:3). The believers had no choice but to scatter and flee Jerusalem to safety. The good news though is that the scattering helped them to take the gospel to new locations.

Jesus warned the disciples to prepare for persecution in their journey of faith. He said, “These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service” (John 16:1,2). Persecution is normal in the Christian race, but the grace of God is also available to see us through to the end.

Since we may not be able to avoid persecution, what can we do? We must, like the early Church, develop effective survival strategies. These include prayerfulness, endurance, maintaining a joyful disposition and readiness to spread the gospel anywhere life takes us. We must also raise sound and committed disciples who are ready to labour anywhere and everywhere for the Master.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Sometimes God uses persecution as a tool for gospel propagation
