Outraged Clubber Hits Back: Caught on Camera Stomping Anti-Israel Protesters at NYC Party

0

A surprising scene unfolded at a Brooklyn rave last week, where a frustrated attendee took a stand—quite literally—against anti-Israel activists who had disrupted the event. A newly emerged video captures the tense moment as protestors lay sprawled on the dance floor, only to be physically confronted by one of the partygoers.

The dramatic protest occurred at the Under the ‘K’ Bridge Park on July 10. A group of about five activists infiltrated the party, executing a “die-in” demonstration targeted at Boiler Room and its parent company, the prominent private equity firm KKR. They accused KKR of investing in companies that produce arms for Israel.

Wearing white shirts emblazoned with messages like “Boiler Room is owned by Israeli arms investors” and “You’re dancing on every martyr’s grave,” the protesters lay motionless, making their presence impossible to ignore amid the revelry.

Footage shared by the protest group, identified as the “Boycott Room,” captures the scene as a visibly aggravated clubber launches into action. The video shows him taking a leap into the air before coming down forcefully onto a protestor’s body.

He didn’t stop there. The clip reveals his attempts to continue his assault, although his momentum falters after a second attempt, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground.

Boiler Room representatives told The Post that the situation was handled by security “within a couple of minutes’’ and that the ticked-off clubber was bounced along with the protesters.

“We weren’t expecting a lie-down, especially 45 minutes from the end,” the rep said of the protest.

The incident occurred on the first day of the two-day event.

Boycott Room also disrupted the rave’s second day when its deejay was forced to briefly shut off the music because a man jumped in front of their booth in the middle of a set.

The unnamed man pulled wires off the mixing table before disappearing into the crowd, according to a Boiler Room rep.

That show-stopper wore a white shirt that read, “Boiler Room is owned by Israeli arms investors,” according to video.

Boiler Room officials said the activists were actually “pleasant’’ and said they were prepared for potential disruptions because Boycott Room demonstrated at their city event last year.

Boiler Room, asked whether KKR invests in Israeli weapons manufacturers, pointed The Post to reports by several media outlets claiming it has no investments in Israeli weapons manufacturers or Israeli companies that do business in occupied Palestinian land.

“We are aware of footage from Boiler Room NYC over the weekend that appears to show an attendee acting towards a protester in a way that has no place at our events,” the company said in a statement.

“We respect the right to peaceful protest, and the wellbeing of everyone at our events matters to us. We’re reviewing what happened and speaking with the venue. We’d encourage anyone who believes they have been a victim of a crime, or has information on this matter, to make themselves known to the police.”

No reports about the attack were filed to the police.

Trump Warns of Tariffs Against Canada Amid Intensifying Wildfire Smoke Crisis

0

In a bold move, Donald Trump has threatened to slap tariffs on Canada, blaming them for the wildfire smoke that’s suffocating US cities.

“We are holding Canada responsible for not properly maintaining their forests and brush,” the former president asserted in a post on Truth Social this Friday.

He expressed concerns that the United States is being inundated with “filthy, polluted, and unhealthy air,” describing the situation as dangerous and intolerable.

Determined to take action, he promised to reach out to Prime Minister Mark Carney for answers, emphasizing that the repercussions are immense.

Trump criticized what he called “willful negligence,” pointing out it has become an annual burden costing billions, which he feels should lead to increased tariffs on Canadian imports.

Fires that have been blazing in Canada’s Ontario province have caused massive plumes of smoke to blanket much of the eastern US.

Those plumes reached major US cities like Washington, DC, and New York City on Thursday evening.

The President likely experienced the smoky conditions in the capital and while traveling to New York City for a work dinner on Friday evening.

'We are holding Canada responsible for the fact that they are not properly maintaining their forests and brush,' the President wrote on Truth Social Friday, threatening to tariff Canada further due to the smoke and pollution hitting US cities because of the blaze in Ontario

Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC, have all seen major dips in air quality due to pungent white smoke creeping in from the northern border.

The National Weather Service has issued air quality alerts in at least 16 states.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the air is now considered ‘hazardous’ from northern Minnesota to Columbus, Ohio – the agency’s most severe air quality rating.

‘Thousands of Canadians’ lives have been upended, are being upended, by the wildfires across this country,’ Carney said on Thursday.

The smoke threatens to further derail relations between the US and Canada, which were already under strain from Trump’s repeated threats to turn its northern neighbor into its 51st state and uneasy trade relations hobbled by the President’s tariff regime.

Trump has repeatedly sought to put pressure on Canada using tariffs during his second term.

Last year, the Republican imposed a 25 percent tariff on most Canadian imports, later increasing that number to 35 percent.

Though after the Supreme Court dealt a blow to the President’s executive authority to enact tariffs, the fees were mostly rolled back, and now Canada pays roughly 10 percent on most goods imported into the US.

Trump’s Republican backers were quick to support the President’s push for additional tariffs due to the fires.

‘Americans will not pay the price for the negligence of Canadian leaders,’ Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno wrote on X.

‘Four years in a row of record fires that have produced decades of environmental damage. Further proof that you don’t have to be very smart to get elected as a liberal, you just have to be woke.’

Many people beneath the smoke plume have reported a burning plastic smell in the air, which atmospheric scientist Matthew Cappucci said is caused by longer-lasting compounds, including benzene and formaldehyde, that remain after the smoke has aged during its journey.

Both benzene and formaldehyde are classified as Group 1 human carcinogens, meaning there is sufficient evidence that they can cause cancer in humans.

‘The smoke isn’t just annoying – it’s legitimately dangerous. It’s made up of microscopic particulates known as PM2.5, or itty-bitty particles less than 2.5 micrometers in width. That’s about 30 times thinner than a human hair,’ Cappucci shared on X.

‘Breathing them in is bad – it increases [the] risk of heart attack, respiratory issues, etc. You may also notice your eyes stinging.’

The smoke has become so intense that major metropolitan areas, including Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC and New York City, ranked among the world’s most polluted cities on Friday.

According to the FOX Forecast Center, Michigan has been hit hardest by the smoke so far, with the entire state experiencing its worst air quality since modern records began in the early 2000s

Top Towel Exercises for Quickly Rebuilding Arm Strength After 60

0

No dumbbells? No problem. Even after turning 60, a simple towel can help you rebuild substantial arm strength.

>

A towel might seem too basic to count as exercise gear, but once you pull, squeeze, or hold it under tension for just 15 seconds, your arms will beg to differ. The resistance generated comes purely from your own effort, allowing you to scale the challenge up or down as needed.

This adaptability makes towel workouts particularly beneficial for those over 60. You can effectively engage your muscles without the need for heavy weights, staying well within a comfortable range for your elbows, shoulders, and wrists. The key lies in maintaining consistent tension, using proper form, and applying enough effort to ensure your arms are genuinely working.

I recommend towel exercises to clients looking for straightforward options to rebuild strength at home. By providing something tangible for your hands to grip and your arms to resist, a towel awakens muscles that might otherwise be neglected during daily activities. Its simplicity makes the routine approachable, enhancing the likelihood of maintaining a regular exercise schedule.

Incorporate this routine into your weekly schedule two to four times. Focus on controlled pulls, presses, squeezes, and holds to develop strength extending from your hands to your shoulders.

The security guard responsible for failing to prevent an intruder from entering the TODAY show studio has been terminated from his role.

Page Six reports intruder suspect Andrew Truelove was able to slip past two security guards with surveillance video capturing the oversight. One guard stepped away while the other “missed the intruder,” as he walked in.

Law enforcement officials reported that on Thursday, a man named Andrew Truelove breached NBC’s TODAY show studio in New York City, seeking famed host Al Roker. The intruder allegedly shouted racial epithets before he confronted host Craig Melvin.

The NYPD acted promptly, taking Truelove into custody. He now faces two counts of hate crime charges due to his confrontational actions.

Truelove’s lawyer, Lawrence Gerzog, informed News Media that a judge has issued a protective order, requiring Truelove to maintain a safe distance from both Al Roker and Craig Melvin.

Meanwhile, Melvin was back on the anchor desk Friday morning and appeared to be in good spirits. He remained on the show for two hours before secondary hosts stepped in during the show’s 9 a.m. hour.

About 30 minutes into the 7 a.m. hour, Melvin and the team addressed the Thursday security breach.

Melvin said, “We want to take a quick moment to address what happened yesterday. You may have heard that unfortunately an intruder made his way into an unauthorized area here at Studio 1A. Thankfully, he was apprehended quickly, he was placed under arrest. We are cooperating fully with the NYPD as they investigate the matter and we are just very happy that everyone is safe.”

Al Roker also addressed the situation Friday morning just before the 7 am hour in a post to Instagram and said, “A really heartfelt thank you to all who reached out over the last 24 hours to check in on my brother,” he said.

The post goes on to say, “We are both okay. It’s moments like these that serve to pull us together. You all, like Craig, said  ‘You come after one of us, you come after all of us.’ We’ll talk about it this morning on the TODAY show.”

Just before Thursday’s security breach, Melvin’s co-host Savannah Guthrie, announced she would be stepping away from the morning show for a few weeks to film a new ‘Wordle’ gameshow.

Friday morning, Guthrie was not on the desk with her co-hosts stating she was taking a “long weekend.” Melvin left early Friday for a reported previously planned vacation.

Harry and Meghan’s Royal Reunion: Debunking the Security Drama Myths

0

Prince Harry’s understated visit to the UK underscores the notion that discretion might be a more effective safeguard than constant police surveillance, as suggested by Richard Kay of the Daily Mail.

Even though Harry reportedly considered not traveling along with Meghan and their children due to security worries, Buckingham Palace confirmed last week that the family shared a private tea with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove.

The media only became aware of this gathering after the family had departed, thanks to an official statement from the Palace. Details regarding Meghan and the children’s travel logistics for the event remain undisclosed.

During an episode of Palace Confidential, Editor-at-Large Kay remarked that this meeting could serve as a model for future visits by the Sussexes, suggesting that earlier safety concerns might have been overemphasized.

The success of Prince Harry's quiet trip to Britain shows that anonymity is in fact the best form of security, not round-the-clock police protection, the Daily Mail's Richard Kay has argued

Editor-at-Large Kay said the meeting provides a blueprint for the Sussexes’ future visits and goes to show that much of the ‘drama’ over their safety was overblown

‘Harry and Meghan can come in and depart the United Kingdom whenever they like,’ he began.

‘We don’t see photographs of them – unless they want to be photographed. They make such a drama about all of this, and yet the public don’t need to know.

‘By and large, they can slip in and out. All this talk that Harry’s in danger and he needs this wraparound security – well, anonymity is the best form of security of all. No one can cause them harm.

‘I know that sounds slightly glib, but I think it’s an important part of this whole package.

‘Where did they come from? We don’t know… it’s absolutely proof positive that they are able to drop in and drop out of the UK as they please.’

Elsewhere in the YouTube show, Kay questioned whether the Queen would have wanted to attend the meeting with the Sussexes at all, given the ‘astonishing criticisms’ of her in Harry’s 2023 memoir Spare.

The meeting marked the third time Harry has seen his father since Charles became King, and the first time the monarch had seen his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, in more than four years.

The veteran royal reporter speculated that Camilla would have been there on her ‘husband’s orders’, playing the role of ‘referee’ between father and son.

He said: ‘You can understand why Camilla would have wanted to support Charles. I don’t know whether she actually wanted to meet Harry and Meghan, with all the water that’s gone under the bridge.

‘She’s got a very good reason not to want to spend any time in the same room as him. However, she is an important referee… if Harry had tried to persuade his father to do something he was reluctant to, she would have wanted to make sure she was a witness to it all.’

Highgrove, the King’s private Gloucestershire estate, is where Harry spent much of his childhood, complete with the treehouse and swimming pool he knew as a boy.

‘I think the choice of Highgrove was critical’, Kay said.

‘The playground, the treehouse, the swimming pool are the things Harry remembers from his childhood. Things he’d want to show his children.

‘It was a great diversion… I can imagine it would have helped smooth the time and avoid any awkward silences.’

Unveiling the Forgotten Giant: The Truth Behind the US Bombing of a Vast Pacific Island

0

Perched at the gateway to a crucial global shipping corridor, a small yet strategically significant Iranian island has recently found itself in the crosshairs of a significant U.S. military offensive. Over a period of 90 minutes, this island became the focus of a relentless bombing campaign.

According to the U.S. military, the assault was aimed at Greater Tunb Island, which lies strategically close to the maritime routes of the Strait of Hormuz. This area is critical for international trade. The strikes specifically targeted “coastal defense systems and cruise missile storage,” according to reports from the U.S. forces.

The conflict in the Middle East has reached a new level of intensity. Last week marked a turning point as a fragile ceasefire agreement and memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the U.S. and Iran fell apart. This shift came in the wake of attacks on commercial vessels trying to navigate through the strait, a development that has heightened tensions significantly.

During the now-defunct MoU, Iran had pledged to ensure “safe passage” through the Strait of Hormuz, an essential maritime passageway through which about 20% of the world’s oil is transported. This agreement was meant to stabilize shipping in the region, providing a level of security for international trade.

However, with recent attacks on vessels in the strait, the United States has sharpened its focus. It now prioritizes dismantling Iran’s capacity to launch assaults on vessels, as it seeks to secure this vital maritime route and protect global commerce.

“What we’ve seen from the US during this phase of the conflict is that they are keen to suppress Iran’s ability to target ships in and around the Strait of Hormuz,” Jennifer Parker, an adjunct professor at the University of Western Australia’s Defence and Security Institute, told SBS News.

“Their attacks in the last week, especially in the last 24 hours in Greater Tunb Island, for example, seem very specifically focused on Iran’s ability to target ships in and around the strait.”

A ‘strategic’ location

Greater Tunb Island is a tiny island with a surface area of about 10 square kilometres, three times the size of the Sydney CBD, located in the eastern Persian Gulf, near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz.

The island, seized by Iran from the United Arab Emirates in 1971, is a disputed territory, with the UAE claiming it belongs to them.

In May, Mohammad Akbarzadeh, deputy political officer of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, told Iranian state television that the area that it uses to control the Strait of Hormuz “extends” as far as Greater Tunb Island.

A map showing Iran, the Strait of Hormuz and Greater Tunb Island.

Adel Abdel Ghafar, a Middle East expert and senior resident fellow at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, said the island’s location “alongside the inbound and outbound shipping lane” is “very strategic”.

“Any [military] personnel or anti-ship cruise missiles based there are very close and can disrupt shipping and have disrupted shipping because the island is so close to the lane,” he told SBS News.

“The islands really extend Iran’s field of view and engagement from the mainland to the choke point itself.

“[It] gives Iran a strategic advantage, and that’s why the US is attacking it.”

‘An unsinkable aircraft carrier’

The island’s location is not the only reason experts believe it is important for Iran’s control of the strait.

The US military said on Wednesday that the 90-minute wave of strikes on the island “further degraded Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz”.

Neither the Iranian government nor the IRGC has publicly commented on the attack.

For years, the media have reported that the IRGC and the Iranian army have a military presence on the island, but no details are publicly available.

Parker said that, because of its size, the Greater Tunb “is one of the more heavily fortified islands”.

“It’s certainly viewed that the Lesser Tunb and Greater Tunb islands are military outposts for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. There’s not thought to be too many civilians there, maybe a dozen, maybe none,” she said.

“If you think of Tunb Island, you can think of that almost like an unsinkable aircraft carrier. They have the ability to project force from the exit to the Persian Gulf.

“It’s not entirely clear exactly where the attacks on ships have originated, but I would suspect, yes, [some] have [originated from Greater Tunb].”

A network of islands

Greater Tunb is only one part of Iran’s island network for monitoring and controlling shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

A military outpost is also present on several other islands, ranging from Abu Musa, west of the strait, to Hormuz Island to the north.

In 2025, Alireza Tangsiri, the previous commander of the naval force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, who was killed in Israeli attacks in March, told local media that “each of these islands” has “immense strategic importance to Iran, and safeguarding the Strait of Hormuz”.

“A lot of those islands, Iran has key military capabilities based on. So whether that is radar systems that allow Iran to detect ships, especially ships that are going dark through the strait … But also command and control systems to coordinate amongst the dispersed IRGC forces across the islands,” Parker said.

“Those islands allow control of the strait and make it easier for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to attack ships.”

Aside from Greater Tunb, other islands, such as Qeshm, Hengam, and Kish, were also targeted by US strikes.

But experts say the attacks are unlikely to restore shipping through the strait to pre-war levels.

“Being able to reduce Iran’s ability to target shipping by taking out a range of the military capabilities on these islands will help to make ships feel safer,” Parker said.

“But I don’t think we will see a surge in shipping transiting the strait in response to these strikes.

“For that to happen, we’d either need to see a lull in attacks from Iran or a statement from Iran followed by a lull in attacks from Iran, saying that they won’t target.”

Parasite Alert: Taco Bell Lettuce in Five States Linked to Diarrheal Illness

0

ATLANTA (AP) — An alert has been issued by federal health officials pinpointing lettuce sourced from Mexico and served at Taco Bell locations in five U.S. states as the culprit behind a widespread outbreak of the parasite cyclospora, which causes diarrhea.

On Thursday evening, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised consumers to avoid eating shredded iceberg lettuce from Taco Bell restaurants in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia. This comes amidst a surge in cyclospora cases reported across more than 30 states, though experts suggest that not all recent U.S. illnesses may be linked to a singular source.

Taylor Farms, known for its connection to past foodborne illness outbreaks, has yet to respond to requests for comments on the matter.

The CDC revealed, “FDA is working with the iceberg lettuce supplier to assess if any potentially contaminated shredded iceberg lettuce remains available,” adding that this could include other states. They further noted, “Taco Bell has promised to cease using lettuce from the supplier identified through the FDA’s traceback investigation.”

Taco Bell says it will use a different supplier

The CDC, in collaboration with the FDA and state public health officials, is deeply engaged in probing a multistate outbreak of cyclospora infections, seeking to mitigate its impacts.

The illness is not usually life threatening and is typically treated with antibiotics.

On Thursday, ahead of the federal government’s confirmation, Taco Bell issued a statement saying that it had taken “immediate action to voluntarily remove potentially impacted lettuce from a supplier in select states. The affected ingredient from our supplier is being indefinitely removed from our supply chain nationwide and will be replaced within 24 hours in select states.”

It’s possible other businesses could be linked to the outbreak

In a statement, federal health officials stressed that other “brands, restaurants, retailers, or distribution channels” could be tied to the outbreak as the investigation continues.

Michigan investigators are trying to figure out if the lettuce went to other restaurants or stores because many of the ill people said they didn’t eat at Taco Bell, state health officials said Friday.

There is no evidence the outbreak “is related to poor food handling or preparation at any single restaurant or fast-food chain,” Michigan health officials said in a statement.

For that reason, they continue to recommend that consumers purchase whole heads of lettuce instead of pre-washed, bagged lettuce or pre-mixed salad kits.

Cyclospora cases have been rising for years

Cyclospora is a microscopic, spherical parasite that commonly causes watery diarrhea “with frequent and sometimes explosive bowel movements,” according to the CDC. Outbreaks tend to occur most often in the late spring and summer.

The heat-loving parasite infects the bowels and spreads through feces. In the past, people have been infected by consuming fruits or vegetables that were exposed to feces-contaminated irrigation water.

The illness, called cyclosporiasis, is less common than foodborne illnesses caused by other germs, including salmonella and E. coli. Many cases are never linked to a specific food or other source and, for years, few U.S. cyclospora outbreaks were reported. But the number started rising about a decade ago, with a particularly notable spike in 2018 and 2019.

Previously, 2019 saw the most reported U.S. cyclosporiasis cases, with about 4,700. The current surge has far surpassed that. Michigan — the apparent epicenter of the current outbreak — is reporting more than 5,000 cases, and more than 2,000 additional probable and suspected cases have been reported in other states.

No deaths have been reported. But Michigan officials say more than 100 people in that state have been hospitalized, and federal health officials say dozens more have been hospitalized in other states.

Experts attribute the increasing trend in cases to climate change and better detection. They also say it’s likely that cyclospora cases historically were underreported, for several reasons.

Some common tests used to check for food poisoning have not been geared to detect cyclospora. Technicians aren’t able to grow the parasite in labs, making it hard to draw evidence from contaminated produce. And it can be hard to figure out what food sick people had in common because sometimes it’s a single ingredient that might be common in multiple recipes — like basil or cilantro.

Taco Bell and Taylor Farms have been tied to past outbreaks

The FDA’s traceback investigation identified a single supplier of iceberg lettuce from Mexico used by the Taco Bell locations where people who got sick ate, federal officials said.

The Mexican food chain is among the restaurants linked to foodborne illness outbreaks in the past.

Taylor Farms also was tied to a 2013 cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to salad mix and a 2024 E. coli outbreak tied to onions served at McDonald’s.

5-Year-Old Rescued After Being Confined in Room with Zip Ties for Days: Police Report

0

The crossroads of Quarry Road and South Lancaster Street in Swatara Township, Pennsylvania, as seen on Google Maps.

A startling discovery unfolded when a 5-year-old child was found wandering alone on a Pennsylvania roadway, prompting police to uncover a home ridden with filth, a swarm of flies, and a boarded-up bedroom door, according to authorities.

Subsequently, legal charges for child endangerment were brought against Jade Shuey, 21, Stephanie Schaffner, 42, and Tucker Heagy, 20, as confirmed by court documents accessed by Law&Crime. These individuals faced a preliminary court appearance on Saturday.

The chain of events began the previous day, July 10, around 7:30 a.m., when Pennsylvania State Police responded to a call at the intersection of Quarry Road and South Lancaster Street in Swatara Township, approximately 95 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

According to reports, concerned citizens informed troopers of their encounter with a “naked 5-year-old boy walking in the middle of the road.” The authorities ensured the child’s safety by taking him to a hospital for a medical examination.

Investigators said they determined the boy “escaped” from a nearby home on North Poplar Street in the township. When authorities went there, they observed “[h]oarder conditions” inside, such as “trash throughout, hundreds of flies,” and “limited room for maneuvering the house” due to the “clutter.”

Then, troopers came to one bedroom in particular. It apparently had a baby gate “affixed to the outside of the door frame” being held together by “numerous zip ties and duct tape.”

It was the boy’s bedroom, authorities said, and there were more troubling signs inside.

“Above the baby gate, there was miscellaneous wood boards drilled into the outside of the door frame to prevent the male child from escaping the bedroom,” Pennsylvania State Police said. “Feces was observed to be smeared on the walls, feces smeared on the bedroom window, a bed was observed to be torn apart with food all over it, trash was observed on the floor, hundreds of flies flying around the bedroom and the residence, along with various children’s toys scattered throughout.”

When authorities spoke with Shuey, she said the boy spent 90% or so of his day in the room and sometimes would stay there for up to three days without leaving, regional NBC affiliate WGAL reported. He was allegedly fed through the gate and was bathed once a week, if that.

Heagy reportedly told police that when they let the boy out of his room, they needed to cut five to 10 zip ties to open the gate. The suspects allegedly bought zip ties in bulk from a local hardware store because they used so many.

Shuey, Schaffner and Heagy were all arrested and booked in the Lebanon County Prison. None of them were able to post bail.

Their respective relationships with the child victim are unclear.

The defendants are scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in court on July 23.

Texas Dentist Faces Investigation After Tragic Death of 4-Year-Old During Procedure

0

In a separate but equally alarming event, a Texas dentist finds herself under arrest after an investigation linked her to the tragic death of a young girl. The 4-year-old, tragically, succumbed to a toxic opioid dose following a supposedly routine dental procedure. Authorities allege the child’s deteriorating condition went unnoticed until it was far too late.

Dr. Chrishelle Hemphill, who is 48, was detained on Wednesday, facing charges of recklessly causing serious bodily injury to a child. This serious felony charge stems from claims that her actions during an April 1 dental appointment directly led to the untimely death of young Aithana Rodríguez-Arriaga.

Law enforcement reports that an extensive investigation, involving interviews with witnesses, consultations with medical experts, and input from state dental investigators, culminated in Hemphill’s recent arrest.

Jail records reviewed by News Media show Hemphill was booked into jail Wednesday afternoon before being released on a $10,000 surety bond.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, firefighters responded to Cuddle Kids Dental after staff reported the 4-year-old had become unresponsive following the procedure. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

“The Crimes Against Children Unit (CACU) began an investigation into this case,” police said in a statement provided to News Media. “Upon their findings, it was determined by the investigators that an offense had occurred and that the doctor that was performing the procedure on the victim was responsible.”

According to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by News Media, Aithana’s mother told investigators she felt rushed into signing paperwork before the procedure and watched as Hemphill handed her daughter a cup containing liquid medication, encouraging her to drink it before she was taken into the treatment room.

Aithana’s mother said she was not allowed to remain with her daughter during the procedure.

About an hour later, she was brought back into the room and found her daughter unresponsive while Hemphill attempted to wake her with a popsicle, according to investigators. Emergency crews were then called.

The tragic case has since prompted police to encourage parents to advocate for their children during medical procedures.

“The last thing you would expect as a parent,” Fort Worth Police Department spokesperson Brad Perez told affiliate FOX 4 Dallas.

“The one thing I would suggest is, if you feel like you want to be there when your child is having a procedure, insist on that,” Perez told the outlet. “I believe this mother wanted to check on the child but was unable to do so as the procedure occurred. Perhaps the mother could have seen signs that the doctor did not at the time.”

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner later ruled Aithana’s death an accident caused by meperidine toxicity, according to records obtained by News Media.

The arrest affidavit alleges the 4-year-old had 793 ng/mL of meperidine in her system — a level investigators say medical experts believed would have been toxic even for an adult.

As detectives dug deeper into the case, they consulted with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners, reviewed the board’s investigation and sought opinions from outside medical specialists.

According to the affidavit, Aithana received chloral hydrate, hydroxyzine and meperidine in addition to nitrous oxide gas. While each medication individually fell within recommended limits, investigators allege Hemphill failed to account for the powerful combined effect of the drugs.

Police also allege Hemphill failed to recognize signs that Aithana was slipping into respiratory distress and administered flumazenil, which reverses benzodiazepines, instead of naloxone (Narcan), the medication used to counter opioid overdoses.

The affidavit notes no benzodiazepines were found in the girl’s system.

Investigators also cited findings from a board-certified anesthesiologist, who concluded Aithana was not properly monitored during the critical recovery period after sedation and that the emergency response failed to address opioid-induced respiratory depression.

Perez told FOX 4 that Hemphill had no prior disciplinary actions and that her dental license remained active with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners at the time of her arrest.

The investigation uncovered additional concerns inside the dental office. According to court documents, investigators found syringes containing leftover medication that staff allegedly intended to save for future patients, as well as confusion over where Narcan was kept during the emergency.

“Throughout this investigation I have learned from Hemphill’s own statements, her staff’s statements and from medical professionals, that there was evident neglect on Hemphill’s part that led to Aithana’s death,” a detective wrote in the arrest affidavit.

For Aithana’s family, the arrest comes more than three months after they lost what a GoFundMe describes as a “beautiful 4-year-old girl, filled with life and kindness” whose presence “always lit up a room.”

“She was sweet, loving, and touched the lives of all who knew her,” the fundraiser says.

It adds that donations will help cover funeral expenses, support her grieving parents and bring Aithana home to Mexico for burial.

She is survived by her parents, an older sister and a younger sister.

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to News Media that Fort Worth police submitted the case Wednesday and that prosecutors are currently reviewing it.
