Austin Swift’s Journey: The Realities of Being a ‘Man of Honor

In a surprise event, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce exchanged vows on July 3 at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City. The star-studded affair quickly became the talk of the town, with details such as comedian Adam Sandler officiating the ceremony capturing public attention. Departing from tradition, the couple chose to include only their siblings in their wedding party. Travis’s brother, Jason Kelce, who has been a vocal supporter of Taylor and Travis’s relationship, served as the best man. Meanwhile, Austin Swift, Taylor’s younger sibling, took on the role of “man of honor,” an affectionate nod to family ties, despite his own preference for privacy.

Journalist Rob Shuter has reported on the newfound spotlight shining on Austin Swift, which has reportedly left him feeling uneasy. On Shuter’s “Naughty But Nice” Substack, a source shared Austin’s discomfort with the attention, highlighting that his decision to stand by Taylor was simply out of familial love rather than a desire for fame. The source emphasized Austin’s wish to remain out of the limelight, despite the overwhelming buzz surrounding his sister’s nuptials.

According to another insider, Austin has made a concerted effort over the years to lead a life away from the public eye, allowing his sister to take center stage. This approach is “the exact opposite of the life he’s chosen,” noted the insider, pointing out Austin’s desire for privacy amidst the wedding frenzy. It appears Austin is determined to let the media storm subside without exploiting the unwanted attention.

It’s highly unlikely that Austin Swift will talk about his sister’s wedding publicly

Austin Swift remains committed to maintaining his low-profile lifestyle, irrespective of the public curiosity spurred by his sister’s fame. “Don’t look for him on interviews or starting a podcast,” a source explained to Rob Shuter. “This whole experience reinforces why he prefers staying out of the spotlight.” Once an actor with roles in films such as “We Summon the Darkness” and “Braking for Whales,” Austin hasn’t appeared in any productions since 2019, underscoring his commitment to privacy.

Throughout the years, Taylor Swift has respected her brother’s preference for a private life. Although she avoids sharing intimate details about him, she often acknowledges his steadfast support. During her induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June 2026, she expressed gratitude to her family, including Austin, for their support during her early career ambitions. “It couldn’t have been easy for my parents and my brother to just pick up and move from Pennsylvania to Nashville,” Taylor remarked at the event, as noted by Billboard.

Swift has also credited her brother for helping her buy back her masters, which was a huge moment for her both personally and professionally. As she wrote in a 2020 Facebook message, “My brother Austin Swift is one of my best pals, and I’m really proud of him.”

Dramatic Footage: Russian Soldier Ejected During Soviet-Era Helicopter Spin-Out Incident

President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin is inclined to negotiate a peace deal to end the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This assertion comes despite stern warnings from Moscow, which cautioned that any Western troops involved in enforcing such a peace agreement would be seen as targets by Russian military forces.

In an interview with Fox News’ chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst, Trump shared a direct message he claims to have conveyed to Putin: “I say, ‘Vladimir, it’s time for you to stop. It’s time for this war to end.’”

Trump expressed his belief that Putin is “ready to make a deal” to resolve the ongoing hostilities.

Despite these diplomatic overtures, fierce fighting persists across Ukraine, including in Russian-occupied areas.

The escalating drone warfare has compelled both armies to explore innovative countermeasures, often repurposing older weaponry to intercept modern unmanned aerial vehicles.

A video supplied by East2West shows a Russian soldier apparently losing control of a Soviet-era YakB-12.7 rotary machine gun mounted on an improvised ground platform.

The weapon begins spinning violently, dragging the service member around before throwing him several yards from the mounting. Another soldier ducks as the gun swings in his direction.

East2West reported that no one was injured, though News Media has not independently verified the location, date or circumstances of the footage.

The four-barrel machine gun was originally developed for use aboard the Soviet-designed Mi-24 Hind attack helicopter. Russian forces have reportedly attempted to repurpose such weapons as ground-based defenses against Ukrainian drones, East2West news reported.

On Wednesday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said any multinational force deployed by Ukraine’s allies after a ceasefire would be unacceptable to Moscow.

“We would regard such units as legitimate military targets,” Zakharova said, according to a Reuters report published Wednesday.

Members of the Western “coalition of the willing” reaffirmed at a meeting in Paris this week that they intend to deploy a multinational force after hostilities end. The proposed force would seek to reassure Ukraine and help Kyiv rebuild its military.

Ukraine’s military said Wednesday that its forces struck the Balaklava thermal power station in Russian-occupied Crimea, a facility that accounts for nearly half of the peninsula’s electricity generation, according to Reuters.

Russia, meanwhile, launched another major drone and missile attack against Ukraine’s southern Odesa region, killing three people, regional Governor Oleh Kiper said. He said civilian, industrial and port infrastructure had been targeted during five consecutive days of Russian attacks.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said Wednesday that Ukraine expects to develop the technical capability to manufacture missiles for U.S.-made Patriot air-defense systems by the end of 2026.

Chili’s Clarifies: Louisiana Employee Let Go Over Harassment Allegations, Not Pronoun Controversy

0

A viral incident has unfolded involving a former Chili’s employee from Louisiana, who claimed his dismissal was due to refusing to adhere to a coworker’s preferred pronouns. However, Chili’s has stated that the firing was a result of ongoing harassment, which contravened the company’s conduct policies, rather than any personal stance on gender identity.

The ex-employee, Wesley Kirk Ford Jr., took to social media on Saturday to assert that he was dismissed after addressing a nonbinary coworker using “her actual legal government name.”

Contradicting Ford’s account, Chili’s has clarified that he persistently mocked and intimidated the coworker, disregarding requests to cease such behavior.

“While we typically do not address personnel matters publicly, it is crucial to provide context for the actions taken in this instance,” a spokesperson for Chili’s explained to Fox News Digital.

The spokesperson elaborated, “The individual’s termination resulted from numerous harassment occurrences towards a team member, breaching our policies, which impacted the team member’s ability to work. Despite being instructed multiple times to halt the behavior, the individual persisted.”

The spokesperson added, “Harassment, bullying, or behavior that disrespects another person is not consistent with our values and is not tolerated. As always, our focus remains on supporting our team members, caring for our Guests, and maintaining a respectful environment for everyone who works or dines with us.”

In a Saturday post on Facebook, Ford wrote, “I just got fired from Chilis in Denham Springs for calling a nonbinary coworker by her actual legal government name lolol. I now need to find a new job.”

Ford added, “I also need to find a first amendment/civil rights attorney. I will post more details on exactly what happened after I wind down some because I’m fired up right now lolol.”

In a video posted Saturday, Ford said he was fired for refusing to call the coworker not by her name, but by her “chosen name,” which he said was “Fish.”

He said he’d never been fired or even disciplined at any job before.

“I’m not participating in that s— anymore,” Ford said in the video. “Like, I don’t care. I don’t care, I put my foot down. And I’m just not, I’m not participating in it.”

Chili’s, however, maintained that Ford was committing harassing behavior.

“In this instance, the terminated team member excessively and unnecessarily mocked the other team member in an antagonizing manner to harass and intimidate,” the spokesperson said.

“This conduct was intentional, targeted, and designed to provoke a reaction. These repeated bullying actions created a hostile working environment and interfered with the ability to do their job.”

Jude Bellingham’s Fiery Clash: Shocking Video Captures English Star Slapping Argentinian Opponent

0

In the intense final moments after England’s World Cup exit in Atlanta, tensions boiled over as Jude Bellingham was seen delivering a slap to Argentinian opponent Valentin Barco.

Bellingham’s unexpected gesture was directed at the back of the head of Barco, a player from Strasbourg who didn’t even participate in the match, following the Three Lions’ heartbreaking 2-1 defeat.

This surprising incident unfolded at the close of what was a fiercely competitive game in the United States, amplified by Argentina’s call, influenced by their Vice President, to ‘reclaim what is ours,’ recalling the historical tensions of the Falklands War 44 years prior.

The charged atmosphere escalated when Cristian Romero, the captain of Tottenham and a key defender for Argentina, taunted Bellingham right as the final whistle sounded.

While being comforted by a fellow Argentine player, Barco turned to say something — the target and language unclear — leading to a moment where Bellingham appeared to lose his composure.

He went over to Barco and slapped him on the back of the head.

The full-back then turned around and pushed Bellingham with tempers flaring. Nicolas Otamendi also came over and gave the England man a shove.

Several Argentinian players attempted to act as peacemakers, but it looked as if Bellingham and Otamendi wanted more head-to-head action – even when they were separated.

During the celebrations, Argentina’s stars held aloft a banner that read: ‘The Malvinas [Falklands] are ours.’

That has led to calls for the players involved to face disciplinary action from FIFA.

Despite FIFA’s ban on political flags, Tottenham captain Romero, Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez and ex-Spurs midfielder Giovani Lo Celso celebrated with the controversial sign after the final whistle.

Captain and star player Lionel Messi was also seen dancing alongside the banner.

FIFA has yet to comment, but the governing body is under huge pressure to punish Argentina for flouting its rules. Manchester United and Spurs are being urged to punish Romero and Martinez.

Twelve years ago, the team carried the same banner at an international friendly and was fined just £20,000.

But there are growing calls for the players who carried the banner at a match of such magnitude – watched by an estimated 950 million people worldwide – to face tougher sanctions.

A total of 255 British servicemen were among the 907 people who died in the 1982 Falklands War, which saw UK armed forces retake the islands after an Argentine invasion.

Britain first landed on the uninhabited islands in 1690 and claimed them for the Crown in 1765. It has maintained a permanent presence there since 1833 – 47 years before Argentina became a fully unified state following its declaration of independence from Spain in 1816.

The last official referendum of Falkland Islanders was held in 2013, when 99.8 per cent of voters chose to remain a British Overseas Territory.

The offensive banner made a terrible night even worse for England. The team were leading 1-0 with just five minutes remaining before Messi’s men fought back to win.

Thomas Tuchel is facing calls to be sacked over his tactical decisions and defensive substitutions as England stood on the verge of reaching their first World Cup final since 1966.

The German manager insisted after the game that he had ‘no regrets’, but pundits and fans have turned on him after his team surrendered the lead when he took off speedy goalscorer Anthony Gordon and replaced the winger with defender Ezri Konsa.

Tuchel then took off Declan Rice for Nico O’Reilly and Reece James for Dan Burn in a further retreat 10 minutes later. Enzo Fernandez equalised with five minutes left and Lautaro Martinez won it for Argentina in stoppage time.

Bellingham, who enjoyed a brilliant tournament, appeared pained at that. In seeming frustration at Jordan Pickford, who produced a number of impressive saves, he looked to the sky, stretched out his arms, and appeared to say: ‘It’s in the middle of the goal.’

Tuchel concluded to BBC Sport: ‘We’re disappointed, we were so close but we got too passive after we scored and conceded a lot of chances.

‘We could not turn the ball possession around and then conceded so many crosses, chances and shots. We were close but couldn’t keep the level up after we scored.

‘Of course we wanted to go for the second goal but I did not have the feeling that offensive substitutions would help. We stayed in our 4-4-2 but we became passive, more and more passive.

‘We couldn’t win any balls, we couldn’t keep the ball so I think it was not a structural problem, we changed nothing. But the match changed completely.’

Harry Kane said: ‘I’m gutted for the boys, the team, the staff, the fans. We played a good game for the vast majority of it. Once we went 1-0 up, we seemed to try and hold on. At this level that’s not enough. Just gutted as we worked so hard to be here and the boys gave every last bit of sweat, blood, and tears.

‘We struggled to get pressure on the ball. Frist half, start of second half, we pressed well and put them under pressure. After the goal, whether it was them putting more men forward or us not being able to match them man-for-man, it was wave after wave. lads were putting blocks in but it wasn’t enough.

‘The boys are ready for any moment. When we went ahead, the messaging was to go again and get another goal. Once they scored their two goals, it was to try and find something but we couldn’t get the momentum.

‘We had a lot of good moments in this tournament, a lot of good games. We’re close, we just need to find that missing piece in the final stage of the tournament. thee tournaments take it out of you, so much effort and pressure and mentality. We’re missing that final piece.’

Dan Burn added: ‘Absolutely gutted. I thought we had the gameplan pretty well for the majority of it. But obviously, when we scored, we went a bit passive and dropped off and were ultimately punished for it.

‘We probably conceded too many chances and if you do that, they are going to get goals. Disappointing from us. We have defended games better and seen them out. When you get that close to the World Cup final, that hurts.’

Spain vs. Argentina: Clash of Titans Promises World Cup Glory Showdown

0

Football fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating the ultimate clash as Argentina and Spain gear up for an electrifying World Cup final.

Spain, the current European champions, marched into the final after delivering a stellar 2-0 victory against France. Their defensive strategy was nothing short of a masterpiece, effectively neutralizing some of the tournament’s most potent attacking forces, holding them to a mere three attempts on goal.

Though they topped their group, Spain’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. In their tournament opener, they were surprisingly held to a goalless draw by newcomers and underdogs, Cape Verde.

Since then, Spain’s performance has only intensified, allowing just a single goal during their impressive four-match knockout streak against Austria, Portugal, Belgium, and France, solidifying their spot in their second World Cup final.

Entering the final, Spain exhibits excellent form, blending individual brilliance with outstanding team unity, making them a formidable force on the world’s biggest stage.

Defending champions Argentina are on the brink of back-to-back titles after a 2-1 victory over England, coming from behind to score twice in the dying minutes.

They topped their group comfortably, but the knockout stage has been far more rocky.

They faced a determined Cape Verde in the Round of 32, who came back twice to equalise before Argentina found a winner deep in extra time.

In the Round of 16, Argentina trailed Egypt 2-0 in the 79th minute before staging one of the greatest World Cup comebacks. They scored three goals in 14 minutes, including a stoppage-time winner, to edge past the Pharaohs.

The match was steeped in controversy, with an Egyptian goal ruled out by VAR after a foul early in the build-up.

Argentina then defeated Switzerland 3-1 in the quarter-finals.

When the score was level, the momentum was with Switzerland before they were reduced to 10 men after Breel Embolo was sent off with a second yellow card for a dive.

The match went to extra time, but the Swiss defence eventually cracked. Julián Alvarez restored Argentina’s lead with a stunning strike, while Lautaro Martínez sealed the win late in the match.

Argentina come into the final with 39-year-old Lionel Messi in fine form, leading the Golden Boot race with eight goals and four assists.

Messi will go head-to-head with Spain’s teenage star Lamine Yamal, 19, but it will not be their first encounter.

Then 20 and a rising star at Barcelona, Messi bathed a baby Yamal during a 2007 charity photoshoot organised by the Catalan newspaper Diario Sport in conjunction with UNICEF.

A man holding a baby

The images were taken by freelance photographer Joan Monfort, who told the Associated Press in 2024 that Yamal’s family won a UNICEF-organised raffle to have their photo taken with a Barcelona player at Camp Nou.

Little did they know the pair would meet again nearly 20 years later — this time on football’s biggest stage.

Argentina won against France on penalties at the 2022 World Cup, after one of the tournament’s greatest-ever finals ended 3-3 in extra time.

Spain will be looking for their second title, having won their first in 2010 with an extra-time goal to secure a 1-0 win against the Netherlands.

The two sides have only met once before in competitive play, at the 1966 World Cup in their opening group fixture, which Argentina won 2-1.

They’ve played 13 friendlies, with Spain holding the advantage with six wins, five for Argentina, and two draws.

The most recent match was in Madrid in 2018, with Spain hammering Argentina 6-1.

The final will be held at New York New Jersey Stadium at 5am on Monday, which you can watch live and free on SBS or SBS On Demand.

Chicago Braces for Heat Surge and Air Quality Alert as Canadian Wildfire Smoke Approaches

0

CHICAGO (WLS) — On Wednesday, Chicago endured another day marked by soaring temperatures, high humidity, and diminishing air quality.

ABC7’s AccuWeather meteorologists predicted that the mercury would again rise into the mid-90s, while the heat index could feel between 100 and 103 degrees.

As the spell of uncomfortable heat continues to grip the Chicago region, concerns about air quality are growing amid smoke from Canadian wildfires approaching the area.

The city seemed particularly hazy on Wednesday, with temperatures climbing into the 90s, prompting residents to seek refuge from the oppressive heat. Many flocked to cooling spots like 31st Street Beach, while others took measures to protect themselves outside.

Due to heightened ozone levels, the National Weather Service issued an Air Quality Alert for the Chicago area. Smoke conditions are expected to worsen from Wednesday night into Thursday.

The NWS said the alert may be extended depending on if smoke from Canadian wildfires reach the area.

Dr. Juanita Mora of the American Lung Association warned that elevated ozone levels, combined with the heat, can pose health risks.

“That ozone becomes like a sunburn into the lungs, and when that occurs people can start wheezing, having coughing, having respiratory problems, along from the heat, and all the dehydration that can occur,” Mora said.

The Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications is encouraging residents to be prepared for extreme heat.

Cooling centers are expected to be open.

When the temperatures climb to extreme levels, it is important to check on relatives, neighbors, seniors and vulnerable populations. Chicago residents can call 311 for well-being checks.

The Chicago Park District said it may move activities indoors on Thursday due to the air quality.

“Chicago Park District programs may be moved indoors, have limited time outdoors, or be canceled,” an update read in part. “The Chicago Park District reminds visitors to take precautions while enjoying our parks, beaches, pools, and facilities during these conditions.”

The area remains under an Air Quality Alert due to elevated ozone levels and the threat of smoke from Canadian wildfires approaching the region.

Gabrielle Gedo, who was visiting from Washington, D.C., said she was taking extra steps to stay safe.

“Just hydrating a lot. And when, you know, with the wildfires, like having a mask on me, it’s been useful,” Gedo said.

Despite the heat and air quality concerns, many people continued to take part in outdoor activities throughout the city.

At Calumet Park, Chicago SummerDance in the Parks drew residents for salsa dancing and live music.

“SummerDance is like my favorite thing that Chicago puts on, so I want everyone to go see it. And the weather could be worse, but it’s. It’s very hot,” said Elizabeth Davisson of Hyde Park.

Gedo also said she focused on enjoying the event despite the conditions.

“Just try focus on getting the moves right instead of, like, how much I’m sweating,” she said.

The Air Quality Alert remains in effect through Thursday. Forecasters predict wildfire smoke could linger near the lakefront and across the Chicago area, creating additional concerns for people with respiratory conditions.

Brian Urbaszewski of the Respiratory Health Association said air quality has already reached unhealthy levels for some residents.

“We’ve reached into the unhealthy for sensitive groups, so the orange category for unhealthy air. And yesterday we reached the red category because of ozone smog. Ozone smog is a gas that’s reactive that actually essentially burns the insides of your lungs,” Urbaszewski said.

Health experts say children, older adults and people with respiratory illnesses are among those most vulnerable to poor air quality and should consider limiting time outdoors when conditions worsen.

At North Avenue Beach, Sam Shapiro and his dog, Badger, got in the water and out of the heat to stay cool.

“You know, he goes to the lake in the morning and the rest of the day he’s either inside or would you like a little baby pool on the deck or something,” Shapiro said. “It’s a pretty indoor day for this guy.”

Diehard runners took to the lakefront early hoping to escape some of the promised high temps and humidity.

Stuart Fisher is training for an October marathon and says he’s been drinking lots of water and taking short breaks to cope with Wednesday morning’s heat during his run.

“I checked the weather and saw that by 11, 12. It’s already gonna be in the 90s and then you can buy that with humidity and you can go out but I think even the most season athlete whatever nutrition you have, planning, it’s still gonna be hot and it’s gonna be very challenging,” Fisher said.

The afternoon heat is one reason why Stephanie Villa and her family traveled from the suburbs to celebrate her birthday by watching the sunrise.

“I really wanted to beat the like peak sun so we’re gonna hit the beach and we’ll do all the fun things before everyone’s out here and it’s super hot. Hopefully we’ll be done by then,” Villa said.

People may start to notice a haze across Chicago’s skyline as toxic smoke from WILDFIRES in Canada settle over the area.

The conditions aren’t stopping the volunteers with the clean-up, give-back initiative during their annual clean-up of the shoreline.

And it’s certainly hasn’t deterred music lovers from lining up outside of Wrigley Field, hoping to get tickets for Wednesday’s Noah Kahan show.

The hot and humid weather has triggered an air quality alert for nearly all of the Chicago area.

Dr. Justin Fiala, a pulmonologist with the Northwestern Medicine Canning Thoracic Institute says because of high levels of ozone pollution, people with respiratory issues or ailments probably should stay inside.

“So for people with asthma or COPD, they can end up with kind of an acute attack because of those things,” Dr. Fiala said. “Other people with other underlying conditions, say heart disease for instance, might feel like they are less able to do the things they normally able to do.”

The stretch of intense heat and humidity drove many people indoors Wednesday, while concerns mounted over worsening air quality tied to wildfire smoke and elevated ozone levels across the southern Lake Michigan region.

At Chicago’s Museum Campus, visitors sought relief from the heat in air-conditioned attractions.

“If you can be inside, be inside. It is so hot outside. We tried to stay indoors, stay cool. The Shedd was nice,” said Kaylah Parks, who was visiting Shedd Aquarium.

The Museum Campus remained busy as many people tried to escape the hottest temperatures of the year by staying indoors. Others, however, chose to spend time outside despite the conditions.

“We have the beach, right? That was our plan: eat and then pack it all up, and then go cool off in the beach,” said Paola Salgado, who was visiting the lakefront.

While Lake Michigan offered some relief from the heat, health experts warned about deteriorating air quality. An air quality alert is in effect through Thursday night because of wildfire smoke and elevated ozone levels.

“It’ll affect everybody, and it’s going to affect people over a large period, a large area … the entire actually Southern Lake Michigan area is going to get blanketed with this really nasty smoke from Canada,” said Brian Urbaszewski of the Respiratory Health Association.

Urbaszewski said the smoke contains tiny particles that can pose health risks.

“They’re so small they can get from your lungs into your bloodstream and circulate throughout your body. They can irritate the lungs and cause breathing problems,” he said.

The hazy conditions were already affecting areas farther north. A low-visibility warning was issued for drivers near the Mackinac Bridge, where smoke had reduced visibility.

Dylan Pearce, who recently completed the Mishigami, an 1,100-mile bicycle race around Lake Michigan, said he noticed the haze on his return to Chicago and worried about competitors still riding in northern Michigan.

“Definitely something I noticed driving back into Chicago this morning – was the smog on the skyline, and all I could think about was those poor guys out there today and what they got to deal with,” Pearce said.

People with pre-existing respiratory conditions said they were already feeling the effects of the air quality issues.

“I have asthma too, so it feels a little bit heavier to breathe. Or like certain days that I’ve been outside for a little bit longer, I will find myself the next day having to use my inhaler,” Salgado said.

“It’s been a little hard to catch my breath or get like good deep breaths in. I get tired easier,” said Jocelyn Cruz, who was visiting the lakefront.

Wildfire smoke was projected to reach the Chicago area overnight and continue into Thursday. The air quality alert remains in effect through at least Thursday night, and experts said smoky conditions could linger for several days.

Open Heaven 16 July 2026 – Deliverance From The Burden Of Debts

Open Heaven 16 July 2026 Thursday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Deliverance From The Burden Of Debts

Open Heaven 16 July 2026 TOPIC – Deliverance From The Burden Of Debts

MEMORISE: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, – Luke 4:18 (KJV)

READ: 2 Kings 4:1-7 (KJV)

1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 4-8

Open Heaven 16 July 2026 MESSAGE

Today, I will discuss the burden of debt as another category of burdens. Some years ago, we had a housemaid who would always sing, “the fire is burning the bush, and the bush is not consumed. How great is our God!” every time we asked her to bring up a song during our family prayers. One day, it occurred to me to ask her what the unconsumed bush she always sang about was. When I did, I discovered that she became a housemaid because her parents were heavily in debt and could not pay their bills. Therefore, we decided to pay off all the debt. After paying the debt, the next time we asked her to suggest a song when we wanted to pray, she sang something different. This time, her song was, “He has done it for me. What my father cannot do, He has done it for me.” If you are under any burden of debt, I pray that this will also be your song soon, in Jesus’ name.

Today’s Bible reading tells us the story of the widow of one of the sons of the prophets who was in debt. When the creditors threatened to sell her sons into slavery as a means to offset the debts, she cried unto the Burden Bearer, as there was nothing, she could do on her own, and the tide turned. God gave her more than enough to pay her debts and live comfortably with her sons.

It is God’s desire for all His children to live debt-free because debts are heavy burdens, and debtors are always at the mercy of their creditors. This is why Proverbs 22:7 says that the borrower is a servant to the lender. The only thing God permits you to owe other people is love (Romans 13:8). If you are currently struggling under a heavy burden of debt, call unto Him today and ask Him to turn your financial situation around for good. No matter the size of the debt, the Burden Bearer will step in and help you to overcome it. As 2 Corinthians 9:8 says, He is able to make all grace abound towards you and give you sufficiency in all things. He will not only ensure that you become debt-free, but He will give you the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18) and make you a lender to nations (Deuteronomy 15:6). I pray that God will bless you with His abundance and indeed make you a lender to nations, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heaven 16 July 2026 HYMN 29 – When Peace Like A River Attendeth My Way

1 When peace like a river
attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot,
thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Refrain
(may be sung after final stanza only):
It is well with my soul;
it is well, it is well with my soul.

2 Though Satan should buffet, though trials
should come,
let this blest assurance control:
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
and has shed his own blood for my soul. Refrain

3 My sin oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
my sin, not in part, but the whole,
is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more;
praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! Refrain

4 O Lord, haste the day
when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trump shall resound and the Lord shall
descend;
even so, it is well with my soul. Refrain

North Dakota Families File Lawsuit Against Hospital Over Alleged Baby Mix-Up at Birth

0

In a shocking legal turn of events, two families are taking action against a North Dakota hospital, claiming that their newborn sons were swapped at birth over three decades ago.

On January 26, 1988, Kyle Bylin and Jeremy Morrison entered the world at Unity Medical Center in Grafton, North Dakota. According to a lawsuit filed by their families and as reported by KVLY, these were the only babies delivered that day at the hospital, which operates under the Christian Unity Hospital Corporation name.

It’s claimed in the lawsuit that the newborns were accidentally swapped by hospital staff, leading each boy to be raised by the other’s biological parents, allegedly unbeknownst to anyone involved.

Shockingly, the mix-up remained undetected for more than 36 years.

Two years ago, Morrison, who now lives in Colorado, took a DNA test and learned the parents who raised him were not his biological parents. Morrison told KKTV that his aunt provided DNA, and Bylin matched as her nephew. Morrison said he does not have any cousins.

Morrison told the outlet that he always felt different from the family he grew up with.

“I didn’t have anyone that looked like me in my family,” Morrison said. “I was that blonde-haired kid that stood out in a family full of brown-haired people.”

“I know I definitely wouldn’t be here in Colorado today if I went home with the right parents,” he said. “I would have been working the farm with my older brother that I never knew I had.”

Both sets of parents have met their biological sons, but the two men have not met each other, according to KKTV.

Unity Medical Center denied the allegations and asked the court to dismiss the case with prejudice.

Attorneys for the hospital argued that its staff “possessed and exercised the appropriate degree of skill and learning” and “at all times used reasonable care, judgment, and diligence,” according to KVLY.

The hospital also claims the lawsuit may be prohibited by the statute of limitations, pointing to “the length of time that has passed between the alleged incident and the service of this lawsuit.”

The plaintiffs are seeking more than $50,000 in damages and have asked for a jury trial.

The hospital also raised comparative fault as a defense, arguing that damages, if any, could be attributable to parties other than the hospital.

The hospital has also demanded a jury trial.

Unity Medical Center said in a statement to KKTV that it is “currently working to better understand a highly unusual situation involving two men who apparently were separated from their biological parents at some point during their lives,” adding: “Both men were born at our hospital on the same day in 1988, and we recognize the profound impact this discovery has had on them and their families.”

“Unfortunately, because of the passage of nearly four decades, the medical and staffing records that might have provided additional clarity no longer exist, and no members of the delivery team from that time are still employed by the hospital,” the statement continued. “While we deeply sympathize with the men and their families, we have found no evidence to support claims that Unity Medical Center or its staff were responsible for what occurred.”

Mediterranean Diet Enhances Senior Mental Health, Study Reveals

0

A nutritious regimen abundant in fruits, vegetables, fish, and olive oil could be the secret to maintaining a sharp mind well into the golden years, as evidenced by recent research findings.

Throughout the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, older adults in England who adhered to the Mediterranean diet—primarily comprising these nutrient-rich foods—reported better psychological well-being compared to those who did not.

The investigative team monitored over 3,000 individuals, aged between 50 and 90, to explore the connection between their dietary habits and perspective on life, according to their press release.

Participants completed comprehensive surveys designed to evaluate positive psychological attributes, such as their sense of autonomy, life satisfaction, purpose, and control over daily activities.

Additionally, each participant was assigned a score reflecting how closely their eating habits aligned with the traditional Mediterranean diet.

Adults who stuck closely to the Mediterranean diet reported a significantly stronger sense of overall well-being.

This finding held even after researchers accounted for factors like income, education, physical activity, smoking habits and general physical health.

The boost in well-being did not appear to be driven by differences in caloric intake, which suggests the specific types of food played an important role.

As the researchers tracked the participants over several years, they were able to measure how their well-being shifted during the early months of the pandemic.

While emotional well-being and happiness dropped across the entire group during the lockdowns, the study – which was published in BMJ Open – showed the decline was less intense for people who stuck to the Mediterranean diet.

Previous research points to a few explanations for this.

“This study shows what we’ve been seeing in other research,” Kim Kulp, registered dietitian nutritionist and owner of the Gut Health Connection in the San Francisco Bay Area, told Fox News Digital.

The Mediterranean diet is naturally rich in anti-inflammatory nutrients, including omega-3 fatty acids from fish and antioxidants called polyphenols found in extra-virgin olive oil.

These nutrients help to lower inflammation in the brain and support a healthy gut microbiome, which is directly linked to the chemical production of mood-regulating hormones, experts say.

“Since the Mediterranean diet is loaded with a variety of plant foods, it provides an increase in nutrients for the body and brain, special compounds that reduce inflammation, and prebiotics to feed the good gut microbes,” said Kulp, who was not involved in the study.

Researchers noted some limitations to the data, including the fact that the study relied on self-reported dietary surveys, which can sometimes be inaccurate.

Additionally, the participants who completed the tracking tended to be healthier and wealthier than the general public, meaning the results might not fully apply to more diverse or vulnerable populations.

“There were only two days of dietary data, and the psychological well-being test was only administered on two occasions, both early on during COVID,” Kulp noted. “Two days of data may not be enough to form conclusions.”

Because the study was observational, it could not prove a direct cause-and-effect relationship between the diet and improved mental health, the researchers acknowledged.

“Eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds and legumes provides the ultimate combination of nutrients to improve overall health as we age,” said Kulp.

“Together, this diet can help reduce stress and depression and improve a sense of well-being, even during the toughest times.”

Co-Worker’s Chilling Revelation in Nurse’s Disappearance

A colleague of a missing emergency room nurse from California recently shed light on the moment concerns were raised, as the intense search for this mother of two advances into a crucial phase.

Angelica Brophy, a 44-year-old ER nurse from Oceanside, was last seen when she dropped off her daughter at a local camp on July 6. Strangely, she did not return later that day as expected.

The mystery surrounding her disappearance sparked a frantic search effort, especially after her car was found parked near Palomar Mountain Skate Park, a place she frequently visited for hiking.

A friend and fellow colleague at Kaiser Hospital in San Marcos noticed something was amiss when Brophy failed to report for her night shift on the day she vanished.

“We’re both nightshift nurses,” she shared with Fox 5. “I arrived for work on Monday night, but she was absent.”

‘I reached out to another one of the girls from our group, and she hadn’t heard from her either. Then I found out that her husband was contacting the hospital to see if she had shown up for work, and that’s kinda when the alarm was sounded,’ she continued.

Brophy was reported missing that same day at around 9.30pm to the Oceanside Police Department (OPD) and the frantic search began.

Just over a week later, search efforts have yet to unearth any signs of Brophy.

OPD Chief of Police Taurino Valdovinos said there is currently no evidence pointing to foul play in Brophy’s disappearance.

But her heartbroken family and friends are left wondering and hoping that Brophy will return to them alive and well.

‘We don’t really know what we’re supposed to do, and no one guides you,’ her co-worker continued.

‘So, at this point, we’re sort of taking a grassroots effort to try and find other areas to search.’

Much of the efforts to find Brophy have been concentrated on Palomar Mountain Skate Park, where her vehicle was found. Her relatives said she regularly hiked with them around the area.

A parking ticket placed her at the skate park around 50 minutes after she was last seen on security footage leaving the Harrah’s Resort Southern California Casino at around 3.30pm on July 6.

After she didn’t return home and failed to collect her daughter from camp, her husband called Brophy’s brother and then the police.

She was last seen wearing black leggings and a gray t-shirt, according to the poster.

‘She loves life and we really just need her back,’ her sister-in-law Lisa Fabregas told NBC San Diego. ‘She is one of the most wonderful, thoughtful women that I know. She’s a very good mom. She will do anything for her children.’

‘She is funny and kooky, and will sing at the top of her lungs and will not have one note in tune, but she does not care,’ she added.

Manny Fabregas, one of Brophy’s five older brothers, said the family is desperately waiting on any information about her whereabouts.

‘We’re all in a state of limbo right now and it’s hard to move on without any leads,’ he told NBC News.

Another brother, Martin Fabregas, said he is trying hard not to let his mind wander into ‘dark places.’

‘It’s a wait-and-see. We’re trying to encourage everybody to stay positive, stay strong,’ he told the outlet.

Ramon Fabregas, another of Brophy’s brothers, told KGTV that many community members have been searching the park as well in hopes of finding her.
