Unlock Ageless Flexibility: A 7-Day Morning Stretch Challenge for Enhanced Mobility After 60

Feeling stiff when you wake up past 60? Try incorporating a new stretch each morning for the next week to see improvements.

>

Mobility doesn’t vanish overnight but gradually ebbs away until actions like bending to tie shoelaces, reaching into cupboards, or simply getting out of bed become surprisingly challenging. As a fitness trainer, I’ve observed that many individuals over 60 don’t need more strenuous workouts for better mobility. Instead, what they need is a dedicated morning routine to help their joints and muscles maintain full flexibility and ease of movement.

A common mistake is dedicating an hour to stretching once or twice weekly and expecting sustained improvements. Your body thrives on consistent, moderate movement rather than sporadic, lengthy sessions. Spending five to ten minutes stretching each morning can improve blood flow, minimize stiffness, and prime your body for the day’s activities. This is why I advise my clients to commit to a week of this practice before judging its impact.

I have guided hundreds of older clients seeking to regain youthful vigor without lengthy workout sessions. The key to their success often lies in regularity, not intensity. This seven-day challenge introduces one stretch every morning, helping you to establish a doable routine without feeling overwhelmed. By the week’s end, you’ll have assembled a comprehensive routine that promotes whole-body mobility, which you can continue practicing for months.

Cat-Cow Stretch

Whenever I begin working with someone who feels stiff from head to toe, I start with gentle spinal movement. The cat-cow stretch encourages the entire spine to move through flexion and extension while waking up the muscles surrounding the neck, shoulders, and lower back. After a full night of sleeping in one position, this movement helps restore fluid motion throughout the vertebrae and prepares the body for the day ahead. Many clients tell me they immediately feel looser after just a handful of slow repetitions. It’s one of the simplest ways to begin rebuilding mobility without placing stress on the joints.

How to Do It

  • Start on your hands and knees.
  • Inhale as you arch your back.
  • Lift your chest and look forward.
  • Exhale while rounding your spine.
  • Tuck your chin gently.
  • Repeat for 8 to 10 slow repetitions.

4 Gentle Exercises That Build Shoulder Strength Better Than Heavy Lifting After 60

Standing Hip Flexor Stretch

Tight hip flexors often develop after years of sitting, making walking and standing upright feel more difficult. I use this stretch frequently because improving hip mobility creates positive changes throughout the lower body. Clients often notice longer strides and easier movement after adding it to their morning routine. A gentle stretch through the front of the hip also helps reduce unnecessary stress on the lower back. Better hip mobility lays the foundation for smoother movement throughout the day.

How to Do It

  • Stand facing a sturdy chair.
  • Step one foot behind you.
  • Bend the front knee slightly.
  • Shift your weight forward.
  • Hold for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Repeat on both sides.

Chest Opener Stretch

Rounded shoulders become increasingly common with age, especially after years spent reading, driving, or working at a desk. This stretch helps reverse that posture by opening the chest while encouraging the shoulders to move back into better alignment. I recommend it often because improved posture immediately makes breathing feel easier and movement more comfortable. Clients frequently notice they stand taller after only a few sessions. It’s a simple addition that pays dividends throughout the day.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall.
  • Clasp your hands behind your back.
  • Straighten your arms comfortably.
  • Lift your chest.
  • Hold for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Relax and repeat twice.

6 Chair Exercises That Restore Walking Strength Faster Than Lunges After 60

Seated Hamstring Stretch

Healthy hamstrings allow you to bend, walk, and stand with greater ease. Tightness in the backs of the legs often contributes to stiffness in the hips and lower back, creating a chain reaction that limits mobility. I encourage clients to approach this stretch patiently instead of bouncing or forcing the position. Consistent gentle stretching gradually restores flexibility without irritating the muscles. Better hamstring mobility also supports healthier walking mechanics.

How to Do It

  • Sit near the front of a chair.
  • Extend one leg forward.
  • Keep your back straight.
  • Lean forward from your hips.
  • Hold for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Switch legs.

Standing Calf Stretch

The calves play a much bigger role in mobility than most people realize. Tight calf muscles can restrict ankle movement, shorten your stride, and make stairs feel more challenging. I include this stretch because improving ankle mobility benefits nearly every lower-body movement. Clients often report smoother walking and better balance after making calf stretching a daily habit. Healthy ankles help the entire body move more efficiently.

How to Do It

  • Face a wall.
  • Place both hands against it.
  • Step one foot behind you.
  • Press the back heel into the floor.
  • Hold for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Repeat on the opposite side.

4 Wall Exercises That Firm Apron Belly Faster Than Gym Workouts After 60

Seated Spinal Rotation

The spine thrives on gentle rotation, yet many adults stop twisting regularly as they age. This stretch restores mobility through the middle and upper back while encouraging healthier movement patterns during everyday activities. I often recommend it because improved rotational mobility makes reaching, backing up the car, and getting out of bed feel easier. Slow, controlled movement produces better results than forcing the twist. Your spine responds best when given time to relax into each repetition.

How to Do It

  • Sit tall in a sturdy chair.
  • Cross your arms over your chest.
  • Rotate gently toward one side.
  • Hold briefly.
  • Return to center.
  • Repeat on the opposite side.

Child’s Pose

I like finishing the challenge with a stretch that encourages the entire body to relax while lengthening the spine, shoulders, and hips. Child’s pose provides a gentle way to unwind accumulated tension from the week while reinforcing the mobility you’ve been building each morning. Clients frequently tell me they finish this stretch feeling calmer, looser, and more prepared for the day ahead. It’s the perfect reminder that improving mobility doesn’t require aggressive stretching. It simply requires showing up consistently.

How to Do It

  • Kneel on the floor.
  • Sit your hips back toward your heels.
  • Reach your arms forward.
  • Lower your chest comfortably.
  • Hold for 30 to 45 seconds.
  • Repeat once or twice.

Democrats’ Derailed Agenda: Donny Deutsch’s Bold Critique

0

On Thursday’s episode of “Money, Power, Politics” aired on MS NOW, commentator Donny Deutsch asserted that Democrats have derailed from their traditional views due to an inclination toward anti-American socialism.

Host Stephanie Ruhle remarked, “Despite dissatisfaction among voters regarding Trump’s role, they seem to be favoring Republicans. If economic conditions remain stagnant until November, could this sway voter sentiment? Do Democrats need to refine their economic messaging as Republicans retain their reputation as being favorable to business?”

Deutsch responded, “Indeed, Democrats appear to have lost their way. Instead of concentrating on issues like affordability, which directly affect voters, they’ve shifted their focus to topics such as Anti-Semitism and Socialism.”

Ruhle interjected, “Not every Democrat subscribes to those views.”

Deutsch elaborated, “True, not all, but the enthusiasm of the party seems directed there. Recently elected candidates illustrate this trend—one implies a Colorado firebombing during a vigil for Hamas-held hostages wasn’t Anti-Semitic, while another, noted for attending a pro-Hamas rally in New York on October 8, reflects these sentiments.”

He added, “This is ridiculous. And they’re both running on anti-American, socialistic, let’s blow up — let’s abolish ICE, let’s abolish prisons, let’s abolish everything, let’s abolish the police. It’s insane. And the Republicans are going to tar them with this. This is the problem. Even though they are a small sector of the party, right now every Republican strategist is salivating over what these people have said in the past, and they’re going to wallpaper with it, and the Democrats are going down a bad path. They’re electing these Democratic Socialists. It’s a disaster, no matter what you think of it, wherever your politics are, it’s bad strategy.”

Alabama Homeowner Ron Burkett Unveils Stunning Bald Eagle Mural Celebrating America’s 250th on Patriotic Lawn

0

Equipped with a weed whacker and a vision inspired by national pride, a resident of Alabama has turned his front yard into possibly the most patriotic landscape in the country.

Ahead of this year’s Fourth of July celebrations, Ron Burkett embarked on a project that matches the significance of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

From a bird’s-eye view, thanks to drone footage, Burkett’s property in Trussville, Alabama, reveals an impressive mural of a bald eagle, its wings majestically spread across his front lawn. This creation honors the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

Utilizing a creative combination of tools—drones, tennis balls, a long cord, and wooden planks for guidance—Burkett meticulously mowed the image into his lawn with a weed whacker, bringing his patriotic vision to life.

Commenting on his artistic endeavor, Burkett remarked, “It’s not political, it’s American. I wish we could focus on celebrating the fundamentals of American freedoms rather than getting sidetracked by political divisions.”

The idea for the eagle took flight after he traveled to New Orleans with his wife and friends to attend Sail250, a celebration of the nation’s maritime heritage.

Burkett returned home inspired, and the rest is history.

As impressive as the detailed eagle and “USA 250” display are, they aren’t the only attractions on Burkett’s property.

His driveway features an equally remarkable mural.

Here’s the latest on America’s 250th Anniversary:

Last Fourth of July, Burkett transformed his driveway into a patriotic canvas, using a power washer to create a striking portrait of the Statue of Liberty flanked by US Air Force fighter jets.

Nearly a year later, the artwork remains so sharp and detailed that it looks freshly sketched.

The impressive mural has become a neighborhood attraction in Trussville, but its days are numbered. Burkett has no plans to preserve the artwork.

Instead, he’ll let the grass grow and allow nature to reclaim the canvas until inspiration strikes again.

For Burkett, the mural is about being an American, and a proud one at that.

The uniquely American lawn display, created in honor of America’s 250th birthday, may not be fully recognizable from the street.

From above, where an eagle would soar, the precision and attention to detail becomes apparent, with each feather fitting perfectly within the plot of grass.

When asked what his favorite thing about being an American was, Burkett’s answer reflected the spirit behind his patriotic display.

“The freedoms that we have, and the right to participate in governing our country through voting,” Burkett said.

FBI’s New Mission Center Uncovers Hidden Sources of Protest Funding and Key Players

0

The FBI’s new Joint Mission Center has made headway by pinpointing suspects and exposing dubious funding channels linked to violent protests across state lines. This effort has also laid the groundwork for building criminal cases, as shared by FBI Co-Deputy Director Chris Raia in an interview with News Media.

Speaking in an exclusive session at FBI headquarters, Raia revealed that the multi-agency mission center has transitioned from merely gathering intelligence to probing the financial scaffolding that supports political violence, aiming to dismantle these networks efficiently.

“We’ve tracked funding from dubious sources,” Raia stated. “Identifying suspects is one step forward, but securing indictments or convictions remains a different challenge altogether.”

Raia’s remarks arrive amidst a crackdown by federal prosecutors, under the guidance of acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche, focusing on nonprofits allegedly tied to violent protests and possible illegal funding activities.

As News Media exclusively disclosed on Monday, a grand jury probe led by U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Jay Clayton, targets American communist tech mogul Neville Roy Singham. Since 2017, he has reportedly funneled nearly $285 million into a web of nonprofits, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

A grand jury has issued subpoenas seeking financial records related to the Singham network, according to the sources. Raia didn’t speak specifically about the Singham case.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama is prosecuting the Southern Poverty Law Center for alleged bank fraud, wire fraud and money laundering in a case in which prosecutors allege SPLC executives paid an informant who helped coordinate transportation, logistics and communications for the 2017 “Unite the Right” protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, that led to the death of a young woman, Heather Heyer.

But the comments from Raia provide the clearest public indication yet that the FBI’s Joint Mission Center, established earlier this year to coordinate the bureau’s response to domestic political violence, is producing tangible investigative results.

The center brings together counterterrorism, cyber, counterintelligence and financial investigators and specialists from the Treasury Department and IRS to trace funding streams, identify criminal actors and build prosecutable cases.

In late September, after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, President Donald Trump issued his seventh National Security Presidential Memorandum, entitled “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Political Violence,” or “NSPM-7.” The FBI tasked its Joint Terrorism Task Forces, or JTTFs, to widen their lens to investigate far-left threats in the U.S.

Last year, Raia worked as assistant deputy in charge of the FBI’s New York field office, which successfully convicted a protester, Tarek Bazrouk, charged with hate crimes related to the violent assault of Jewish victims.

In early December, the Justice Department issued a memo, “Implementing National Security Presidential Memorandum-7: Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence,” directing law enforcement agencies to investigate “anti-fascist” actors with “extreme viewpoints on immigration, radical gender ideology, and anti-American sentiment.” The directive also called for the investigation and prosecution of tax crimes in which “extremist groups are suspected of defrauding the Internal Revenue Service.”

FBI Director Kash Patel named Raia to the position of co-deputy director of the FBI in January after the departure of Dan Bongino from the post.

By March, the Trump administration’s FBI budget included the creation of the Joint Mission Center. Agents assigned to the Joint Mission Center are working “hot and heavy,” he said, to separate allegedly illicit funding from legitimate financial activity supporting nonprofit organizations and advocacy groups.

“It does go through some very legitimate hoops, and it is commingled with very legitimate money as well,” Raia said. “So, splitting that out just takes time.”

Raia said the bureau has already identified at least a “portion of the actors” believed to be involved in financing or facilitating violent protest activity but declined to identify investigative targets because the cases remain active.

“We’re working every day to bring an indictable case to the Department of Justice,” Raia said.

Raia said the bureau created the Joint Mission Center because violent political unrest has evolved into what officials view as a “hybrid threat” requiring expertise that extends beyond traditional counterterrorism investigations.

“We brought all those folks together from different divisions at headquarters. And we brought them together to sit in the same space and really be a clearinghouse for these types of events that happen,” Raia said.

Singham and the organizations in his network didn’t return requests for comment. A spokesman for the Southern District of New York declined to comment.

As part of the investigation, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met earlier this year with Goldman Sachs Chairman and CEO David Solomon, who pledged to aid the FBI’s effort to trace how Singham allegedly routed money through a network of nonprofit organizations that investigators believe supported protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other causes, the sources said.

The Singham investigation illustrates the type of financial case the FBI’s Joint Mission Center was created to pursue: identifying and dismantling the funding networks that investigators believe enable recurring episodes of political violence across the country.

Raia cited violent anti-ICE demonstrations in Minneapolis and at Delaney Hall; an immigration detention center in Newark, N.J.; the attempted terror plot at UFC 250 in Washington, D.C.; and other incidents that federal authorities believe demonstrate recurring patterns of organized violence.

As News Media previously reported, activists associated with the Singham network have participated in anti-ICE demonstrations at Delaney Hall and protests in Minneapolis and Los Angeles.

“We’ve seen it, and we’re going to continue to see it: The violent protester that shows up in Portland will be a violent protester that shows up at Delaney Hall and vice versa,” Raia said. “This same cast of characters continues to show up, and they continue to invade and infiltrate the legitimate First Amendment protesters who are exercising their constitutionally given First Amendment right.

“We know these violent folks are coming in and seeding into there and creating chaos, creating violence, causing us to have to get involved. And we’re doing a good job getting in front of these folks and disrupting those folks.”

Raia said the FBI has disrupted numerous violent actors over the past 15 months, including during anti-ICE demonstrations in New York City, and that the bureau is increasingly shifting its focus beyond arrests at protest scenes to the financial infrastructure supporting those activities.

“We’re really looking at attacking the money. Who’s funding these folks? Because we know somebody is, at the end of this, funding these folks,” Raia said.

Ren McEachern, the former acting unit chief of the FBI’s International Corruption Unit, said following financial trails is often the fastest way to expose the organizations, individuals and motivations behind coordinated political violence.

“When you see what appear to be disorganized or fragmented protest groups appearing and reappearing, well organized, in different areas of the country, you have to determine the funding sources to understand the organization,” McEachern said. “Often, if you follow the money, it tells a different story of organized collection and distribution of funds.”

Taylor Swift’s Wedding Drama Unfolds as Kelce’s Brother Squad Reportedly ‘Seethes

Sporting berets, sunglasses, gold chains, shorts, and Spider-Man Air Jordans, Travis Kelce’s entourage made a stylish entrance into New York City for what has been touted as the wedding of the year.

Sweeping in with their unique mix of NFL flair, these men, close to Kelce, attended Thursday night’s events with their own brand of charisma and confidence.

Beneath the surface of this fashionable display, however, a more nuanced narrative was playing out among the ranks of Kelce’s guests.

It appears that everyone on Team Travis received an invitation to his nuptials with Taylor Swift, but the invitations were not all identical.

Close confidants of Kelce, including his longtime friends from Cleveland, the branding twins, and fellow tight ends, found themselves ushered into the exclusive rehearsal dinner on Thursday. Meanwhile, a larger contingent from his wider NFL circle was directed to join the 1,000-guest celebration scheduled for Friday.

The sensitive, semi-snubbed bros left on the sidelines are believed to be quietly seething at being frozen out of the more star-studded dinner the night before, sources say.

For more than a decade, we’ve watched the hairline cracks in Swift’s famously tight Girl Squad become painful fractures.

This time, the friendship politics threatening to upstage the big day are playing out not among the bridesmaids, but the boys. Turns out 250lb tough guys who get hit for a living have feelings too.

‘There is a general invite to everyone on the team,’ a source told the Daily Mail. ‘But it doesn’t extend to some of the front office people, so there’s some feelings there. And also, not everyone on the team has the same invite.

‘A few who he’s closer to have more info and it sounds like there’s something smaller that they get to go to.’

The groom’s inner circle were among the first to appear outside an upscale NYC hotel – made up of the tight-knit Cleveland crew who knew Kelce long before his three Super Bowl rings and pop star girlfriend.

Aric Jones, Kelce’s oldest friend, suited up for the occasion. The two go all the way back to a Cleveland Heights hockey rink in 1995, when both were five.

Alongside him were Aaron and André Eanes, the twins who built the Kelce brand, cutting sharp figures in suits. The Cleveland-born founders of A&A Management have been the architects of his rise since 2013, turning him into one of America’s most marketable athletes long before Taylor Swift entered the picture.

Former NFL tight end Ross Travis, Kelce’s other right-hand man, had a look all his own: black beret, gold chain, dripping in confidence. Sarah Blackburn King dressed to impress alongside him, stunning in a gold dress with a matching bag.

George Kittle, the San Francisco 49ers tight end and one of Kelce’s closest friends in the NFL, made quite an entrance with wife Claire.

She stunned in a black dress with a slicked-back pony, while her husband wore a light suit with shorts, sunglasses and Spider-Man-inspired Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers.

Travis and Taylor were spending time with George and Claire Kittle in Nashville just last week

Kittle had already confirmed he was coming but admitted earlier this week he’d been given almost no details. ‘I genuinely don’t know where I’m going,’ he said.

The NFL couple only made it to New York on Thursday morning after being delayed by airport issues in Nashville on Wednesday night. They also spent time with Travis and Taylor last week at his ‘Tight End University’ NFL networking event.

Completing the groom’s contingent was Erin Andrews, the Fox Sports reporter who helped make the whole love story happen – stunning in a dress as she arrived on the arm of her husband, Jarret Stoll, the former NHL star and two-time Stanley Cup champion.

It was Andrews who, months before Swift and Kelce went public, urged the pop star on her podcast to give the tight end a chance. ‘Taylor, please try our friend Travis,’ she said. ‘He is fantastic.’ The two couples have since vacationed together in Montana.

And then there’s the outer ring. Several of Kelce’s Chiefs teammates and football friends – invited to Friday’s main event but pointedly left off the smaller dinner the night before – are said to be privately unhappy at being assigned to what insiders called the outer edge of the celebration: welcome at the party, but not at the table.

The contrast in wedding arrangements extends to the guest accommodations.

While some of Kelce’s Chiefs teammates are reportedly staying at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, his closest friends appear to be enjoying the VIP treatment at the considerably swankier hotel they were spotted leaving.

Among those spotted on Swift’s side of the wedding was close collaborator Jack Antonoff. The star producer and Bleachers frontman has been one of Swift’s best friends in the music business.

When he married actress Margaret Qualley in New Jersey in 2023, Swift flew in and delivered a 15-minute roast of the newlyweds.

Also in town were Shane and Paige Buechele. The former Chiefs quarterback and his wife – part of the extended Kelce-Swift inner circle since Taylor’s first season on the sidelines – were spotted earlier this week dining at Meduza Mediterrania, the restaurant Kelce co-owns with Patrick Mahomes.

Among the wider NFL and broadcasting set to arrive was Andrew Whitworth, the former offensive tackle turned Amazon Prime pundit, who won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022 and has been a fixture in the league’s inner circle ever since. His Prime colleague Ryan Fitzpatrick, another former quarterback, was there too.

For now, everyone’s smiling. But with plenty of celebrations still to come – and lots of bruised egos under one roof – this party is only just getting started.

Shannon Beador Discusses Her Evolving Bond with Tamra and First Impressions of RHOC’s Fresh Face Carmella Garcia

RHOC's Shannon Beador Shares Update on Friendship With Tamra Judge, If Tres Amigas Are Back Together, and Thoughts on Newbie Carmella Garcia, Plus Teases Season 20 Tagline

Shannon Beador recently shared some insights into her relationship with Tamra Judge while attending the premiere of the Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 earlier this week.

At the event, Shannon not only discussed their evolving relationship but also addressed whether the famed Tres Amigas have reconciled. She shared her thoughts on new cast member Carmella Garcia, 44, and expressed her excitement about the much-anticipated return of Vicki Gunvalson, 64. Shannon even suggested a possible tagline for the season.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Shannon, who is 62, emphasized how her interactions with Tamra, 58, have transformed. “It’s an evolution this season, but we’re at a point where it’s not a yelling and screaming match, which was a shocker to me,” she remarked. “There’s good pluses and minuses. It’s an evolution this season, for sure.”

That said, Shannon is still keeping Tamra at a healthy distance.

“The thing is, and sometimes I would get a little bit frustrated, is the push that I was getting to kind of rekindle this historic friendship that I had with Tamra. I can go to a certain point, but for me, I needed to create this boundary, and it’s kind of mocked sometimes and all that, but it is what it is,” she stated.

Then speaking to Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea, Shannon revealed that the Tres Amigas is not back together.

“No. I mean, we’re, we’re okay,” she clarified. “You’ll watch as the season evolves, and there’s definitely — I’m in a much better place than I was last year. But for me right now, I just need to keep it at that place and, you know, I’m not being mean. I just know what’s best for me.”

According to Shannon, Tamra’s past behavior was the deciding factor for their future.

“I had to sit and analyze the history, and there were certain patterns that continued to repeat. And at some point, if you keep going back, the same thing is gonna happen, and you can only blame yourself,” she reasoned. “So I took a hard look at certain things, and for my happiness, I’ve never been in a happier place, so I want to keep things the way they are.”

During a third interview with Zachary Reality at the event, Shannon said that she was looking forward to the silliness of season 20.

“I get to do a lot of silly things, and I get to laugh, and it’s been a lot of fun,” she shared.

As for the new housewife, Shannon confirmed she liked her from the start.

“I was kind of a not-liking-new-girls person myself. I really like her, and we have a lot of things in common. Enjoyed her from day one,” she gushed.

Looking back at the fight she and Tamra were involved in amid Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, which reportedly led to them being banned from the finale, Shannon said that although it wasn’t their biggest fight, “the ramifications were.”

“It was upsetting to me,” she admitted.

Then, after stating that Vicki’s return was “so much fun,” Shannon teased her season 20 tagline.

“One has to do with the water, and one has to do with sucking it in,” she revealed.

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 premieres on Thursday, July 9, at 8/7c on Bravo.

Jillian Cardarelli: Explore Her Family Life, Religion, Marriage, Age, and Net Worth

Jillian Cardarelli Biography – Jillian Cardarelli Wiki

Jillian Cardarelli Parker, a multi-talented American artist, has made her mark as a country singer-songwriter and actress. Known for her portrayal of Janie Carson in the cinematic piece “Crossroad Springs,” she hails from Massachusetts and ventured into the country music scene in 2013. Her track “Worth the Whiskey” earned her a nomination for the Independent Music Award the next year. In April 2022, she launched her self-titled EP featuring “What’s It Gonna Take,” a compelling piece crafted by Jennifer Fielder and Adam Wood.

Cardarelli’s talent garnered significant accolades, with Rolling Stone listing her at the forefront of their “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know.” Adding to her growing recognition, Nashville Lifestyles Magazine spotlighted her as one of the Top New Artists to Watch in their celebrated Music in the City issue.

In December 2020, Cardarelli captivated audiences by performing a breathtaking rendition of “O’ Holy Night” during The 98th Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Virtual Concert. Prior to this, she graced the Red Carpet at the CMT Awards in both 2019 and 2018 and took the stage at CMA Fest, performing on the Radio Disney Country stage.

Beyond her performances, Cardarelli has ventured into songwriting, achieving notable success. Her work was featured in Australian artist Jody Direen’s project under ABC Music, and she co-penned Cort Carpenter’s track “What Were We Drinking,” whose music video impressively surpassed 1.56 million views on YouTube.

Jillian Cardarelli Age

Jillian Cardarelli, a prominent figure in country music, was born in 1993 in the town of Haverhill, Massachusetts.

Jillian Cardarelli Husband

Jillian Cardarelli is married to Sports Agent Brian Parker. Parker proposed to Cardarelli in November 2019 at Central Park in New York City. The couple were married on May 15, 2021 at the Wightman Chapel in Nashville. Cardarelli and Parker, alongside their family and friends, traveled to Southall Meadows in Franklin, Tennessee for the reception. The country music artist celebrated her five-year wedding anniversary with husband Brian Parker in May 2026.

Jillian Cardarelli Children

Country singer Jillian Cardarelli and her husband Brian Parker are yet to have children.

Jillian Cardarelli Parents

Jillian Cardarelli’s mother has had stage 4 colon cancer for the last 12 years. Cardarelli has come to realize that cancer does not discriminate. She’s also upset that her mom has to witness it all. “The fact that my mother, who has had stage 4 cancer for the last 12 years, has to now help her daughter navigate this, is very unfair,” Cardarelli said.

Country Music Star Battling Breast Cancer

Jillian Cardarelli was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma in May 2026 at age 33. Cardarelli received the breast cancer diagnosis on May 21, 2026. She was working on new music with acclaimed songwriter Jeffrey Steele and prepping to board a plane to Toronto to begin her second season on the show Crossroad Springs.

“One minute you’re focused on filming schedules, scripts, music and everything,” Cardarelli told People in an interview. “And the next thing is doctors, scans, pathology reports and words I’d never even … I feel like I’m learning a new language.”

Cardarelli recalled feeling a lump in her breast, and “something in [her] gut” told her to see a doctor. A malignant tumor was found “in an area of very dense tissue.”

“I’ve had areas in my breasts that have been diagnosed with dense fibrous tissue since I was 25 years old that I’ve been getting looked at by ultrasound a couple of times, but nothing was ever seen,” she explained. “But then, I felt something a little different to me. I knew my body. I was a little more tired.”

Breast Cancer Journey

On July 26, 2026, Cardarelli shared a major milestone in her breast cancer journey. “The first big step is behind me,” Cardarelli wrote in an Instagram post. “Now it’s time to heal while we wait for the next step in my treatment plan.”

“Thank you to the incredible team at Dana-Farber for your kindness, compassion, and support throughout such a challenging and stressful process,” she continued. “I’m truly so grateful to be in your care.”

US Death Rate Hits Historic Low According to Latest CDC Report

0

In a historic milestone, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on Thursday that the U.S. death rate plummeted to an all-time low in 2025. According to their provisional data, this marks a significant achievement in public health.

The latest Vital Statistics Rapid Release report highlights that the death rate stood at 689.2 per 100,000 people. This represents a remarkable 4.6 percent decrease from 2024, establishing a new record for the lowest death rate the nation has ever seen.

In examining the underlying causes of mortality, heart disease and cancer continue to top the list as the primary culprits. These are followed by unintentional injuries, strokes, chronic lower respiratory disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes, which remain as significant health challenges.

Although the first seven leading causes of death remained unchanged from the previous year, the list did see a shift in the final three. In 2024, Nephritis, chronic liver disease, and suicide were prominent. However, the 2025 data shows influenza and pneumonia, along with kidney disease, rising in prominence, while chronic liver disease continues to be a major concern.

The report also sheds light on demographic disparities, revealing that death rates were notably higher among males, older adults, and Black individuals. This underscores ongoing public health challenges and highlights areas needing targeted intervention.

“The death rate decreased from 2024 to 2025 for all demographic groups except American Indian and Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, and Asian people. Although the death rate decreased for people age 85 and older during this period, rates for this group remained higher than those for all other age groups,” the report stated.

“Death rates also decreased for several race and ethnicity groups; however, rates for Black people remain higher than those for all other groups.”

The data used for this report was derived from the National Vital Statistics System and accounted for 99 percent of deaths that occurred in 2025.

The report identified four limitations to the findings: The data is provisional, the timeliness of death certificate submissions varies by jurisdiction, race categories may have been misclassified and the methodology of population estimates varied between 2024 and 2025.

“Despite these limitations, this report provides an overview of provisional mortality in the United States during 2025,” reads the report. “Provisional death estimates can give researchers and policymakers an early signal about shifts in mortality trends and provide actionable information sooner than final mortality data. These data can inform public health policies and interventions aimed at reducing mortality.”
